I came here tonight and felt so completely disrespected. Usually I come here and have a great time but tonight I came in sat at the bar and nobody acknowledged me or greeted me. Then the bartender came over, basically threw a menu at me and still no greeting or anything of that sort. Beautiful food. Service was surprisingly not at a fine dining standard. My sister and I are staying at the Beverly Wilshire hotel. We've stayed here several times and have had a wonderful experience with the staff at the hotel. The way we were treated for a Saturday morning brunch was surprising. We received a warm reception from the hostesses, which I'd like to note. Once we put our food orders in, we were never spoken to again. Sat by the waiter's POS, a group of them began to burst out laughing at a funny part of my sister and i's conversation. We didn't think anything of it and thought it was all good fun. When I'd try to flag or get the attention of a server from that point forward, I was dismissed or barely acknowledged. Perhaps they didn't like the content of our conversation. I asked for the check a couple of times, finally received it. Wasn't asked how my meal was or was thanked for our service. The waiter swooped by the table, picked up the completed tab, and looked at it in front of us before we had gotten up the leave. I've worked in elevated dining experiences, and this is a pretty standard no-no in the industry. He read our tab, said "thank you" and swiftly walked away. read more

Spent New Year's Eve in the bar for the New York countdown! The place was crowded as would be expected. We were able to order drinks and spend time with some friends. Eclectic mix of people in the bar area as well as in the dinner section. The band that night was very good. Played a little bit of everything. The countdown to the New Year's was on the TV. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. This is not the place to save money, but sometimes you get what you pay for and it was a great experience. Beautiful patio outside along Wilshire Boulevard. My Mom and I were looking for a place to eat while we were Christmas shopping. I'm local to Los Angeles and never ate at the famous hotel from Pretty Woman! So, we decided to nip in for a little lunch. We were seated right away and the host was wonderful. As we sat down someone asked us what we wanted to drink. Service was quick and always with a smile. I ordered the burger with truffle fries. My Mom ordered the flank steak. Both of our entrees were great, but I would say you could split burger and fries because it was so big. Visited this place during a brief visit to Beverly Hills in general. The design is quite lavish inside here, just like it is on the exterior. The atmosphere is pretty quiet, and I think most people come here for meetings and the sort, since there were a couple of those types sitting around during my visit. The food here is a little expensive, but not too bad in terms of quality. If you're coming down from a day of shopping, it's an okay choice if you want something a little fancier. read more

If you're expecting a 5-star quality service, then you're mistaken. I've been there for over 3 times and their service is horrible. All the waiters that i interacted with had an attitude problem. We never got checked on after they brought our food on the table. Every time we needed a drink, we had either yell "excuse me" like an idiot or go to the bar ourselves. Not to mention the attitude of the 2 hosts that work at night and the host that works in the afternoon. What a shame. Festive place to grab a bite in the middle of Beverly Hills. It's in the Beverly Wilshire or the 'Rev Bev Wil' for you Pretty Woman fans. I've never found the food to be remarkable but the service is friendly and it's a great launching point for some Rodeo Drive shopping. The tuna tartare on the dinner menu is pretty good and they will serve it during lunch if you ask nicely! I treated the bf to his bday dinner at the Blvd and the experience was unlike anything I've experienced. The patrons who frequent the Blvd have "old money" written all over them. There's a subdued energy that permeates the venue. Perhaps it was the night we went, but no one spoke above a whisper. It was... different. This westside yuppie felt like a fish out of water. Nevertheless, the food was outstanding. The Pepper-crusted seared ahi tuna was light and flavorful. The churrasco beef skirt steak was season beautifully. Every bite melted in your mouth. I was very disappointed by my visit to The Blvd. Some friends were staying at the Reg Bev Wil and we thought we'd check it out. First, when we went to check in they couldn't find our reservation. Not a big deal since they were not on a wait but my friend had gone to the trouble of making a reservation and the hostess was a little snotty when she said he didn't have one. I've been to my fair share of Beverly Hills Hotels restaurants and bars so the prices were typical with every other nice hotel in the area. Be prepared to spend $15 - $21 for a drink, more if you go for something extra nice. I really enjoyed my Watermelon Refresher - $15 - vodka, watermelon purée, mint and basil. So refreshing and very tasty. I also really enjoyed the band, I had heard them before at the Four Seasons at Doheny/Burton and they are very good. (Although a little loud if you are trying to talk!) Those two things are the only good things I have to say about our experience. Food was just okay. Service was unacceptably atrocious. If I am going to pay the prices they charge I expect some 5 star service to come along with it. We had to ask for water multiple times before we would get it. I'm not even 100% sure who our server was because random people would come by the table at different times but it didn't really seem like anyone was taking care of us. We had a very hard time even getting our check. When we finally managed to flag someone down to get our check it was another 20 minutes before we could get someone to run our card. I actually think we could have gotten up and walked out and no one would have even noticed. I definitely won't be back and am surprised that such a nice hotel allows a restaurant to have such lackluster service. read more

Visited the BLVD while staying at the Beverly Wilshire a few weeks ago. After shopping on Rodeo Dr. just up the street, we sat out on the patio and received excellent service! Veuve Cliquot by the glass, an assortment of tasty breads and my client had a sushi roll! It would have been even better if they offered a vegan butter or other veg-friendly or health-conscious spread. Very classy, tasty, great service and priceless view of the shops up the street. We returned later in the evening to have a cocktail after dinner and it was another world inside! Very dim lighting, mood-setting music, and lovely people! I recommend this as a great meeting place for business associates and also a perfect place to enjoy an outdoor lunch after shopping! read more

First, I have to point out that I ordered room service at the Beverly Wilshire, but the food was supposedly from The Blvd. It was not good. I really hope the two have different kitchens. The ceasar side salad was a plate of yellow and white romaine lettuce, with bits of green-ish lettuce, topped by shaved parmesan cheese. The dressing was almost bland but very heavy/creamy. I also ordered a sirloin cheeseburger, medium-well, with fries. I got a sirloin cheeseburger, medium-rare, with coleslaw. I don't mind the coleslaw, especially since someone else ordered fries and we shared, but I do not like it when blood drips out of my cheeseburger. And for $21 you'd think they could get it straight. For being in such a "high class" hotel, this place sucked. I'd rather walk down the street to Quizno's. read more

My boyfriend purchased a TracelZoo certificate for their tasting menu as a bday gift to me, and he totally regrets it. The service was HORRIBLE. We had no clue who our server was, since random people kept bringing each course. We asked for water and had to ask someone else for it 30 minutes later. They completely ignored us, and stiffed us on a pouring of wine for one of the courses. To top it off, the food wasn't really anything special! There were other tables also using the TravelZoo certificate and receiving five star service, so I know that wasn't the problem. The only explanation I can think of is that the bf and I looked to be about 20 years younger than everyone else in the restaurant, which is NEVER an excuse for poor service. I work in the hotel and hospitality industry and I could not believe how we were treated. I wrote an email to let them know about the awful experience we had and never received a response. Needless to say I will never go back to this restaurant, and will make sure I let my friends know about it. If you want five star service and food, don't waste your time or money here- head up the street to Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel. They know how to treat their guests well. P.S. I came here for pre-dinner drinks before walking over to Maude. Definitely some of the most delicious (and most expensive) drinks I've had in LA. The service and ambiance are amazing and it was overall a great experience. It's pricy but I have no complaints paying if I'm receiving what I'm paying for. The drink menu is long enough that any taste can find something exciting but not too long that it's overwhelming. This is somewhere you have to go at least once! read more

Thanksgiving dinner was the worst. Had to prepay through Tock. They had no idea what we had paid for. Then the food was no good. The service was mediocre at best. The Turkey "roulade" was dry and tasteless. There were no vegetables. And to top it off they ran out of apple pie hours before closing. How do you plan so poorly that you run out of apple pie on thanksgiving?! Since they didn't know what we had paid for we actually ended up having overpayed - no refunds. We were standing up front near the hostess stand for probably 5 minutes before the two girls finished their conversation and decided to acknowledge us. The waiter was bad, like really bad. At least 10 minutes to get water/tea, I don't think my water got filled up once. And then we literally had to go inside to track him down to get our bill so we could pay. During a week-long work visit to Los Angeles, my colleagues and I decided to end our last night in town with a nightcap in Beverly Hills. It was a Saturday night, so we wanted something swank without too much of a "scene" or wait. If you find yourself in the same situation, I highly recommend the Blvd at the Regent Beverly Wilshire... "Are you writing it down ? You'll forget it. Write it down. REG... BEV... WIL..." ;-) Unfortunately, we did NOT see anyone tickling the ivories while getting it on. I was also NOT presented with a ruby jewelry set, nor was I whisked off to San Francisco for a box seat opera performance. What gives? But, all "Pretty Woman" references aside, this place was perfect for what we had in mind. Our cocktails were tasty and well-prepared, and we snacked on olives and fancy nuts (this is Beverly Hills, people -- yes, even the nuts were fancy! :-) Our server was cool, as were our fellow patrons, and the jazzy music ensemble delivered a solid performance without overpowering any conversations. The vibe was classy without being stuffy, and I enjoyed looking at the wine cellar, displayed through glass on one side of the room. We only had one minor "celeb." sighting (one of the sidekick characters from CW's "Smallville" -- why couldn't it have been gorgeous Tom Welling)?! But that was ok, as we would have done Chateau Marmont or Villa if we were looking for that kind of crowd. Of course, the prices are in accordance with the atmosphere, so bring lots of green -- or your corporate Amex. Then, I ordered an Orecchiette which was soggy and served in a soupy minestrone sauce. $27 for a nasty dish like that, I apologize profusely, but this is a faux-pas! 2 of us went there for dinner last Fri night using the TravelZoo 5 course dinner voucher. Reservation was at 8pm on Fri night and we walked there after attending the opening of RichardAvedon's works@Gagosian where we saw both JaneFonda AND AnjelicaHuston-both looking fabulous! Made reservations for 8pm, got there at 8:15am and were promptly seated at a great corner table with outside views of the stairs to RodeoDrive and inside view of the lounge. Courses:- 1. A version of coleslaw w avocado and fish sauce - tasty. Paired with (very tasty!) LouisRoederer Champagne which was generously topped up once we were nearing the end of it! 2. Corn soup which tasted more like Pumpkin soup so I don't know why they didn't just call it that! Great presentation in that the huge plate with a roasted squash stuffed with ratatouille were placed at the table before the server poured the soup over it right in front of us. Loved the fact that the ratatouille didn't "disintegrate" and stayed intact throughout! Tasty. This was paired with a glass of Moet&Chandon. 3. Halibut which was very good but tiny. This was paired with a peach forward Reisling. 4. We got one portion of the hangar steak and one portion of the filet mignon and the filet mignon was far superior! Also loved the collard green and potato puree accompaniments. This was paired with a Summerland Syrah which was oh so tasty and just kept getting better with each swig! 5. Final course was a choc dessert tray to share which was consistently tasty throughout. 6. The orangecello as a digestif was ok- have had better in Italy! The reason for the minus one star is because the server arrived with 2 portions of a vegetable dish after Course#3 and just before we started to eat it, he came back and whisked both away and 2 secs later, brought them to the table IN FRONT of us!! And although he had asked us if we wanted pepper on it (one yes, and one no)- he asked them again and proceeded to (over)pepper theirs!!! He then brought us Course#4 without even an apology or anything - basically pretended that NOTHING had happened! After paying our bill, we found the manager and told him but he apologised and that's it! No attempt made at all to make sure we return - which OF COURSE we won't!! After dinner, went to explore the myriad rooms - BordeauxRoom, ChampagneRoom and even the GrandBallRoom - fun to see but all looked dated and quite unimpressive indeed! read more

The pepper crust gave my appetizer the kick. the side greens nicely accompanies the main focus salmon (4 stars) --The salmon was cooked nicely. crispy on the outside and soft inside. the best part of the dish was the vegetables though! the asparagus and the carrots were the best sides that have ever partnered up with a fish entree! yuuum key lime tart (4 stars) --never had key lime tart but really been wanting to try it. and im so glad i did because it was fantastic! glass of champagne (4 stars) --this champagne was so tasty! glass of pinot noir $17 - (4 stars) --yeah this pinot was very enjoyable. there were two pinots but i got the $17 one and it was fantastic. I highly recommend to pinot noir lovers. Our server was really nice and friendly. When our entree was taking a while, he apologized for the wait and gave us complimentary snacks including macaroons, mint fluff, and chocolate covered almonds! score! It was a nice experience. The food was pretty good. This is one of the places that you would want to try if you had a good deal or feel like splurging on a meal (unless price isn't a problem). TIP: -bring paper copy of travelzoo coupon. the manager politely asked us go with him to the computer to print the deal because they needed the paper.. they should just take down the confirmation number like all the other travelzoo participating restaurants instead of wasting paper... -valet parking was $15 -dress attire: some were casual (classy casual i guess), some were dressy. read more
