It was my family's first time coming to this location we always go to Wilshire location and I was so disappointed in the service there was a shift change while we were there and our waiter let us know there would be someone else helping us no one ever helped us and there was no one ever around to call def do not recommend if you want great waiters and recommend if you want mediocre service . Never have I ever done a review but jeez it seems as if they knew they didn't care since they were not getting the tip so why bother helping that table is what it felt like . " I actually was not confused I was not confused by the poor service of staff when you walk in, I was not confused on seeing multiple tables empty for more than 1 hour, I was not confused when I heard the staff telling customers to come back the next day 3 hours prior to closing time, I was not confused on the staff getting a thrill off turning customers away. * Pre - COVID19 Review* To be completely honest, out of all the Boiling Crab locations that I've been to, I like this one the most. This is the location on Main St. It's quite close to the parking structure behind Gen, so parking isn't the worst. And there's plenty of lively activities and desserts on this street for post-food fun! The staff at this location is super friendly. I've honestly never had a bad experience with them. They're really attentive and high energy, making the whole experience each visit feel like the very first time. For those who have never experienced Boiling Crab, I highly recommend it! Fair warning, eating here is a little messy because it is a seafood boil and you will be eating with your hands. The staff provides bibs and extra napkins if need be. There is also 2 extra sinks outside of the restroom so you can wash your hands without holding up the restroom. The boil comes in a bag and you throw your shells away on the table. The food is as amazing as always. The sauces are always consistent and high quality as well as delicious. My favorite is always the "whole shabang" in medium or mild, depending on my mood for spice. I always ask for extra sauce for my order. I love getting crawfish, shrimp and/or clams. Mussels are good too! The prices for these items are pretty budget friendly and within reason, but it is seafood so it is not a super cheap meal. And of course, we gotta get a large side of cajun fries. I had great experience with the boiling crab in Ktown so decided to give this place since we were in the area. It took us about 40 minutes to get our order (I kinda expect this gonna happen in any boiling crab location). We order the same thing we ordered in Ktown location (frozen crawfish, shrimp, sausage, and corn). We had high hope for crawfish but it turned out to be our disappointment. The crawfish was dry and has no juice in it (which is the best part in our opinion). Not sure if it's because of the season (February), we went to Ktown location in the early summer. Boiling Crab is a delicious spot and this location was not any different. However, I felt the need to write a review purely based on customer service. I would like to acknowledge some of the staff that I thought was polite, AKA the guy with tattoos working the front. He was very polite and smiling a lot when interacting with me. 1) When seated, I asked my server, Amber, if I could have gloves to peel my food. She told me that they did not have any gloves to give. I was a bit confused, but I did not press too much on it. However, when she walked away, I glanced at the cashier facing my table and noticed not only one, but TWO boxes of gloves staring at me in the face. So again, when my food arrived, I asked another server if I could have gloves and she also said that they did not have any gloves to give. Now, I understand if for whatever reason, you are not allowed to give out the gloves but blatantly lying to my face as I'm staring at them is very awkward. NOT ONLY THAT, the table right next to me had a different female server (the one in the photo) who graciously offered one of the customers a pair of gloves when she asked. I simply do not understand why I was denied the gloves TWICE as they clearly were there and were being given out to other tables. 2) My party and I asked for butter as part of our meal and we received 2, one for each of us. It was a heavy amount, and we did not need too much but we appreciated it regardless. HOWEVER, when we received the check, we realized we were charged $0.75 for each. Our server did not think to mention this to us when we ordered cause if that was the case, we could've survived with just one. This is the best Boiling Crab location, besides when they moved from Valley Blvd. I always order to go: clams, crab legs, and fried shrimp. I go with the mild ''whole shebang,'' because it's delicious. Even mildly spicy is REALLY spicy for me, yikes! Before pandemic, I would always do take out because it was a small place and hard to get seating indoors. There was always a long line. Good stuff though, I will keep coming back. read more

First time at this location and overall a little disappointed. It was a Thursday ~6pm we were told the wait would be ~20min. It was actually shorter and we were able to wait inside. I notified them for a party of 4 plus a stroller and they happily situated us in the back with space for the stroller so I was really happy about that. King crab at $70/lb they were not fresh and even if they were frozen they didn't taste great. I've had Costco king crab legs that were bigger and tasted wayyyyy better than this. Probably the worst king crab I've ever had at a boiling crab. We got 2 orders and we regretted it. Funny story the couple across us had the king crab also and complained. They offered her half off but I could hear the worker telling her she ate it so they can't give a refund. Frozen crawfish $13/lb don't even think about it Fresh crawfish $18/lb was great Oysters were ok Mussels were tasteless You can't go wrong with the shrimp and fries The whole shabang was ok- Customer service was great all around Overall not happy with a bill of $355 and everything being mediocre and not fresh. I usually start with fries .. my go to order is 1/2 lb of shrimp whole shabang medium with a corn inside. (Juicy) I sometimes work on peeling the shrimp first and then throwing them back in the bag to cover them with the delicious sauce ... i like to get all the work out of the way first but of course it depends on how hungry I am. My only complaint is that the restrooms are filthy ... in my opinion gender neutral restrooms should be getting clean more often. read more

We always did take out from this place even before the pandemic but now that everyone is doing takeout it is taking a little longer but that's understandable. They are CDC compliant and also have plexi glass at their cash and pick-up areas. They are well organized and the fact that they have fresh crawfish right now is what continues to draw us in. Heads up for healthcare workers they give you 10% off if you show your badge! What we usually get: *Seasonal live crawfish (they have frozen too for cheaper but you can taste the difference) in Whole Sha-Bang mild sauce ( A+ ) Sometimes the batch is full of huge buggers other days they are small it just depends on what you're given. Sucking the heads is the best part full of umami flavors like having a sea urchin tongue! *Clams in WSB mild sauce (A) These are so addictive but sometimes they all fall off and aren't even in the shell so you have to dig for them at the bottom of your plastic bag *Shrimp in WSB mild sauce (A-) Tasty USUALLY but sometimes they can be overcooked then it becomes mushy but when they are done right it's perfection so it's a hit and miss with this one **I usually throw 4 corn cobbs in there and only get the WSB mild sauce so it doesn't overwhelm the shellfish. Tried the others and they just don't compare plus I LOVE their crispy garlic chunks. Save all your sauce after your done and use it for leftovers over rice, eggs, or in pasta and it's amazing! Incredibly misleading by telling customers the wait is 1 hr 15 min, but pushes 20 min multiple times thereafter. 2 hours and 45 min was the total wait after my order was put in. That's really poor time management by the staff. I could've picked up food elsewhere instead of being lied to (3x) to wait 20 min. There's a super long table nearly the length of the restaurant full of bagged orders waiting for pick up. People are going home with cold mushy seafood.
