We got there when they first opened so no wait time. They provide everything for you that you need to enjoy your crab boil experience. They also place your plastic bib on you! How awesome is that! Rice portion is pretty big and they also offer salt pepper with lemon to eat your seafood with it gave the taste a nice fresh cleanse to your pallet which we loved. They also bag everything separately ie: corn/sausage/potatoes in one Crab legs in one Shrimp/clams/mussels in one Service: Excellent I wish all restaurants were like this. I tried this place when I was in California and it was good so I was excited when they opened in Hawaii. I been here a several times and it was a good experience every time. The foods were delicious and fresh. We ordered the snow crab combo with the sha bang sauce and crab fries. The combo was delicious and enough to feed 2 people. The crab legs were on the skinnier side so there wasn't enough flavor to the meat. The shrimp, mussels and clams were fresh and clean. The sausages and corn were savory. I'm not a fan of the potatoes, but they were filling and goes well with the sauce. The sauce was phenomenal and amazing. It has a savory and has a spicy kick to it. Lastly, we barely touch our rice so the next time we come, we will exclude the rice. The crab fries was the best fries that we tried so far. Their garlic aioli and the crab on top mixes perfect with the crispy cajun fries. We were able to get extra garlic sauce, but not with the crab. Overall a very good experience every time we visit. Seafood heaven! I love seafood, so you can only imagine how devastated I must've felt when I became allergic to shrimp ... I'm so glad they're able to make reasonable accommodations for my allergies. We ordered the combo with crab (sub shrimp for clams) the whole shabang and medium spicy. I also got a li hing margarita and fried calamari on the side. Yelp BFF and I have been talking about boiling crab for such a long time and I just so happened to complete my Masters degree recently. What better way to celebrate than seafood? We made reservations through yelp and got seated at the time slot. No waiting. The food was EXCELLENT. We had the house special sauce (mixing 3 different sauces together) - medium spicy. It has a kick to it but it was not unbearable. We wanted the Dungeness Crab but they didn't have it that night. So we opt for the King Crab legs. The crab legs were meaty and the sauce was very tasty. The combo came with sausages, corn, rice, shrimp, clams, mussels. The soda was refillable! We couldn't finish all of our food so we put the sauce onto the rice and took it home and made it a wonderful second meal! Overall the dining experience was wonderful and the servers were very attentive to all our requests (napkins, chopsticks, refills). They have hand washing stations which makes it very convenient and nice clean feel after eating crabs / seafoods with your hands. Snow crab: they sell theirs differently - by the cluster not the pound - which we were not told. When they brought out our order of snow crab and it was literally one cluster I was like umm...this is all? We had to ask and our server and he nicely explained. We definitely would have ordered more if we knew that. The flavor was just ok, we preferred the flavor of other similar business on the island. Fresh oysters: they sell fresh oysters from the Pacific Northwest. They were very fresh! Half were very large and the other half small. I personally prefer smaller oysters (like Kumamoto, Shigoku or Gulf Coast). These oysters had a VERY strong milky/creamy flavor that I did not care for at all. This was my fault for not asking beforehand about what kind of oysters they were. I only ate the smaller ones. Fried soft shell crab basket: the soft shelled crab was good but salty. I would have enjoyed rice instead of the Cajun fries but they do not allow substitutes. They also have bibs and put them on for you lol. I wish they provided scissors for the crab! The food and service are both great. I walked in with a party of two and was seated right away after being complimented by the employees about my outfit and appearance. They offer to put on and tie your bibs and provide gloves upon request. If you don't opt for gloves, there is also a handwashing station with three faucets available. The waiters were very communicative about the menu and what they were going to do -saying they will come back with lemons/salt & pepper/refills, often checked up, etc. etc. As I was watching other parties leave, the employees clean up thoroughly and efficiently; good to see. As for the food, it came out pretty quickly. That goes for each party that was seated in the restaurant. They bring out several orders at once and pass them out while walking through. I do not handle spice very well, so if you are the same then I suggest keeping it mild since it comes with a kick. We ordered the garlic sauce alaskan crab combo which comes with crab legs, shrimp, corn, sausage, potatos, clams, mussels, and white rice. I highly encourage you to eat their corn, if not order extra, because it is very soft, juicy, and rich in its flavor. Literally went somewhere else last week and we had four clusters of snow crab COMBO for less than everything combined here. Was very disappointed in our dinner tonight. We waited about half an hour for our table. On top of that, we had a hostess that was very rude. We was just looking at the Yelp waitlist and it told us to come by at 8:45 to 8:55. She told us we weren't guaranteed a table. Once we got a table, I was looking at the menu and I was already disappointed. The price was ridiculous. My boyfriend's crawfish combo was $45. My snow crab combo was $72. And when I saw my combo, I was so irritated at this place. While trying to peel the shrimp, I noticed that the shell kept getting stuck on the meat. Wasn't cooked properly. That was also a downer. The clams and abalone was pretty much just shells. There wasn't a lot of it but I didn't really care for it. The sauce wasn't good either. The snow crab was so tiny too. What made it a deal breaker and made this the first and last time coming here was that my boyfriend chipped his tooth. We never had a problem eating seafood boil until we came here. Ya'll list it as market price on the menu, but probably jack up the price for other people to spend an arm and a leg for seafood that isn't even good. There are other seafood places that are cheaper and aren't stingy with their portions. First time here at the Salt location. We were lucky to get street parking right outside the restaurant. There is a parking structure in the area with a minimal charge with validation. As we entered, we were greeted by friendly smiling faces. The restaurant looked a little small, but only to find out later that they have private rooms in back and a second story. The ambiance had a semi industrial feel yet modern and clean. Tables were spaced apart evenly. It also had a bar like setup with TV's along the walls tuning in on sports. And at your convenience, a hand rinsing station shaped like a trough with three faucets. All staff were attentive at all times making sure we had everything we needed. They even tied plastic bibs for us around our necks. We ordered the combo that came with 1/2 Ib. King Crab, 1/2 Ib. Shrimp, 1/2 Ib. Mussels, 1/2 Ib. Clams, sausage, corn, and rice. We had a choice of spice level and sauce. We also ordered a Ib. of Snow Crab and Chicken Wings along side. All the food came out at the same time. The wait time was very short. In general, we opened all the plastic bags that it came in and poured it out onto the table. We had a feast, everything tasted exactly how we wanted and the taste was amazing. This is my family's most favorite place to eat crab.  Out of all the Cajun seafood boil places on Oahu, I feel like the Boiling Crab has the freshest and most excitingly vibrant flavors.  It's a little pricy, but if you get a combo, it helps to get you value for your purchase.  When we visited today, we got the snow crab combo with "the whole sha-bang!" mild sauce.  Let me tell you this sauce is dynamite and worth getting time and time again.  The combo comes with muscles, shrimp, clams, crab, rice, corn, potatoes, and sausage.  For appetizer we tried the fried soft-shelled crab with Cajun fries.  So crispy and just the right amount of spice.  The staff here is always friendly and helpful.  You can park in the parking structure and get validation from the restaurant.  There are two floors to this restaurant and their COVID safety measures are strong.  They take your temperature before you enter the restaurant and all of the tables are socially distanced.  It's highly encouraged to use your hands and get messy when eating.  So have fun and enjoy the experience with your family and friends.      PS. We had 7 of us meeting for an early dinner and the service was awesome. Wait time was about 5 minutes. Best server ever (Kendra?). She was a sweetheart and went way above and beyond. Five of us ordered snow crab and shrimp and the other two aren't seafood lovers so they ordered chicken tenders (boo!). Boiling Crab did a great job of working as a team to serve us. I watched how they serviced the other guests and more establishments could learn from them. One person takes your order, another fills your water, another brings your food and another will tie your bib on. Even our chicken-eating friends got a bib and Kendra explained that if they're in the line of fire across from someone eating crab, they will be in shabang sauce zone. Great proactive thinking! I'm usually a 20% tipper but went to 30% on this visit. We came here last night 6/15 around 7pm and the hostess was very kind. It was our first time so she explained where to wash our hands, where the bathroom is, bathroom code, etc. She noticed we had a toddler so she sat us near the entrance and downstairs which was very sweet. When we sat, we were greeted fairly quickly by George. He wrote his name on the paper along with two other names who were assisting him. I believe it was Holly and a local name that starts with a K (sorry!) It was our first time so I had a few questions. George was very kind and patient and service was really good!!! We were very impressed. The manager on duty also stopped by to check on us. We ordered the lobster tail combo, kid's chicken tenders, and crabby fries. The chicken tenders were not dry and cooked perfectly. My son could easily chew it without having to rip it out his mouth. The lobster tail was the best part for my husband. Had Boiling Crab in LA and fell in love and got to finally try Boiling Crab here and wasn't my favorite. My cousin and I ordered a half dozen raw oysters and a snow crab leg combo w/shrimps, mussels, calms, corns, potatoes, sausages with shabang sauce and 2 rice. In my opinion, the oysters were the best. I was surprised the oysters were pretty big and the hot sauce that was in the container had a good kick to it. The combo had a good portion but everything was just too salty for the both of us. The first bite, I had to reach over to drink water and a scoop of rice. We were trying to figure out why it was so salty, thinking maybe it could be the lemon pepper? but reading other reviews, they said it was salty as well. I suggest using the limes they give since it did help just a little bit. Customer service was great though. Servers were nice and came to check up on us. For those that like to dip their foods into the sauce, ask for an empty bowl. Rip one of the bottom corners of the bag to squeeze out the sauce into the bowl. Also, the bathroom code is on top of the napkin container that's on the table. read more

We also ordered the Snow Crab Combo w/ Cajun Pepper on the crab but garlic sauce on the other ingredients. I have to admit it was pretty good; the Cajun sauce got too salty at one point so I was really glad it wasn't on everything. We enjoyed everything and it was pretty filling compared to other places. Now the highlight of my night was, halfway gnawing through the crab legs, my mother looks at me and asks, "Kelly....can we order more oysters?" The waiter took our order a pound of King Crab, pound of shrimp, sides and appetizers. The manager asked if we were celebrating anything special, we said "yes" my birthday! He said he'll send an appetizer on the house. The complimentary squid appetizer and the appetizers we ordered arrived quickly. Our beverages were served on time as well. The waiter brought our bibs and gloves as well and tied our plastic bibs around our neck for us. We were happy with the service and appetizers so far. We ate all the appetizers and drank all our beverages and still no food. We didn't see our waiter but there were 2 other assistants that came by to ask if we needed anything? We thought the King crab legs were being defrosted or something because 1/2 hour or more went by and we still didn't get our food! We ordered another appetizer and beverage which arrived right away. In the meantime, people arrived after us ate and left. We started to feel anxious but didn't want to be demanding. After going to the restroom and returning and still no food, it was now 8:15pm. We finely asked what happened to our waiter because we haven't gotten our food yet? The gal that was sent to our table by the manager several times, said he went home. We told her we didn't get our food yet what's happening? We wanted to leave because now it was 8:30p. She said she would get the manager. The manager came apologized and said it was his fault. He thought we only ordered appetizers. He said he would comp our appetizers and drinks and pack up the appetizers we didn't finish. We were appreciative but disappointed. We thanked him and left. After leaving hungry and disappointed we thought the manager could have done more. Perhaps saying I'll get your food to you right away and it will be on the house or offer us a complimentary meal on our next visit. The manager also asked us not to write a bad review.
