We came to watch the patriots game, and Alex took such good care of us. She not only gave us great drunk recommendations but also made us laugh throughout the entire experience. Looking to watch THE BIG GAME???? Well, you probably won't be able to at this bar. No primetime games are ever featured, causing multiple customer requests to change channels however no server, bartender, or manager will actually help. Just this past weekend I tried asking 5 separate workers to turn on the PRIMETIME Penn State game (versus Michigan), and not one could change a single TV to the biggest game of the day. I ended up leaving and making my way to The Playwright, who, just like ANY other sports bar in America, had Penn State vs. Michigan on just about every other TV. I left without ordering food or drinks because of how poorly this was handled. Upper management is also super rude to their employees. Do not recommend. read more

I've been here twice. Once on a Sunday afternoon just after brunch. Drinks were great and the bartender was wonderful. HOWEVER, the second time I went for drinks at 930pm (this was June 23rd 2018). My roommate had been working so we met at home and had one drink before heading over, so clearly sober. After getting into line the man who appeared to be in charge at the door came over screaming at us asking about a can across the street stating that it was ours. It of course was not, we arrived in an uber and last I checked most uber drivers would not take kindly to anyone bringing open containers into their vehicles. We explained it was not ours and he said he knew it was and to get out of line where he continued to lecture us on how we cannot drink on the way to the bar. I quickly grasped that he was unreasonable and so let it go to get an uber to leave, in utter shock that I was being torn out of a line for no reason whatsoever. About a minute later he came over to inform us that he was wrong and believed us. Not to apologize mind you, only to say we could go in. While I understand they need to monitor these issues and keep patrons waiting out front in order, I do not see how someone can justify being so rude for no reason at all. The situation only continued spiraling downhill when he pointed at another quiet patron waiting in line and stated we should "get in line behind that dirtbag". While waiting in the line we then witnessed another bouncer calling a man an asshole when asking him to move over closer to the line. A reasonable request, but the name calling and abuse they were dishing out was the most unprofessional thing I'd ever seen. I would be completely embarrassed if I owned this establishment and saw the front of it being run in such a manner. And I was further disappointed to later hear from 3 separate individuals that they knew the exact bouncers I was referring to and had had similar very rude interactions with them. Seems pretty obvious that management needs to get involved to teach these men how to behave appropriately, not just as employees, but as a human beings. read more

I've been hearing about the boozy donuts at the Broadway for a while and finally decided to see what the talk was about. We started off with a mimosa and the coffee and donuts cocktail. Both were delicious. We didn't splurge for the mimosa tower but many people were enjoying them. We then tried the donut of the day (apparently there are very few so it's not even on the menu), and it was amazing. Great texture, delicious cream cheese icing, and some kind of boozy injection. Not too sweet, either. For my brunch, I had the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes. They were great, but needed ricotta between each pancake and more blueberries. My one complaint about the service is that my wife ordered the eggs Benedict and asked if it came with potatoes. She was told no, and ordered a side of potatoes. When it arrived, it had potatoes and a side of potatoes. Luckily it got taken off the bill, but the waitress should have known what come with each item. But overall we really enjoyed our food! read more

Go to broadway if you want to spend $80 on 4 drinks to feel absolutely nothing. Zero alcohol in the drinks. Wings had no flavor. Pizza is pretty good. Bartenders aren't friendly. Waitresses are friendly but get not help from behind the bar. Line is never worth it. I've been several times in an attempt to give them several chances but I've been disappointed 95% of the time. Fun atmosphere for brunch/ day drinking, however the food is just sub par. Ordered the Mimosa tower which had to be replaced because we found bugs in it. Ordered the donuts to share for the table, so dry that no one finished one. Entrees we're edible but the English muffin I got with my eggs tasted and looked gluten free (?), very bland. I've given the Broadway too many chances. The food and service is awful. I think they just want people to take cool pictures of their food to put on instagram and hoping that attracts customers, but every dish I've had there is a swing and a miss. Everything I've had tastes awful (how hard is it to make a decent salad or chicken sandwich?) Service is not attentive and didn't bring out food all together, so some friends were finished with their meals before others even got theirs. No apology from them either. Went to brunch for the first time this week. We split a bottle of Prosecco with three juices for mimosas, and I thought it was a pretty good deal. I got the breakfast skillet and while it was good, it wasn't anything spectacular. I wish the English muffin had more butter on it, and overall I thought I could get a similar dish at a diner for a lot less. I got sausage with it and my friend got bacon and she said the bacon was amazing, some of the best bacon she's ever had. Overall pretty good brunch spot, a little overpriced but then again what isn't. read more

A frequent patron of The Broadway I was very disappointed when I attended on 26Nov21. After ordering food, our waitress told us we could sit and order drinks but then the hostess proceeded to kick us out of our seats. Her rationale was that we were just ordering ordering drinks and didn't need a table despite us ordering & paying for a meal. It was extremely dissapointing the way the hostess treated us and we wouldn't recommend anyone to come here for dinner. No one deserves to be thrown out of their seats especially when they were paying customers. I'll be telling friends and family to not attend while The Broadway continues this practice of not caring for their customers. read more

Looking for a place for brunch after the Run to Remember, we turned right onto Broadway and immediately spotted The Broadway. We lucked out with street parking and scored a front high-top. The weather was flawless and the roll doors were open. Our super friendly server Shannon congratulated us on our run and made a few recommendations on the menu. The stuffed croissant is a must try and it pairs nicely with an Eastend Seltzer. The short rib hash was very tasty as well. Molly the manager was unprofessional embarrassed my friend he just traveled from Montreal to see a group of us and he's laying on one of our shoulders as we're all chit chatting and she comes to our table and told him to sit up while because this isn't his house but a restaurant he goes to sit up and she then proceeded to say that he had to leave and we could stay like she couldn't make a decision on what she wanted to do because he goes from sitting up at her request to saying he has to leave, Which is where we started getting defensive because he was literally not doing anything barley starting his second drink. Not sure where she has worked at before that her hospitality was unprofessional or timid because she couldn't really give us an answer on why he had to leave only that he was laying in her shoulder. I've lived in Southie for 10 years and have never had an issue with my transactions being processed honestly at a bar or restaurant. For the second time since they have opened, my card has been charged an extra tip amount. The first time I did not save my receipt but I suspected it was incorrect. The second time i saved my receipt and sure enough, it was correct to the penny however an additional tip was left (i left more than 20% tip originally). Not only this, I called to correct this since saved the receipt this time and was forced to follow up 3 times before i received a call back. The call i received from the manager was extremely glib and unapologetic and tossed it up to a simple mistake. Also, the pizza sucks. it's so undercooked you can't even pick it up. Don't waste your money and go to Lincoln. Always phenomenal service both front and back of the house and the pizza is amazing. read more

This is probably one of my favorite places in Southie! I absolutely love the space with it's old rustic but clean feel. The bar is huge, and I can never say no to their Persephone drink. The Broadway has a great combination of bar food and healthier options. I have been into The Broadway a few times with friends for drinks. This place gets PACKED on weekend nights and for games etc. so I don't even try it. I have been in late afternoon on a Friday for drinks and apps and weeknight after dinner drinks. It like the ambiance- its large and fun inside and the cocktails are good, I'm just not willing to wait in line. Then this Saturday I came for lunch with my friend and her 3 year old son. I was surprised how accommodating they were. There were a lot of young families. My friend had the fried chicken sandwich and said it was the best she has ever had. I had en egg wrap that was also delicious. Her son had pasta and meatballs and I couldn't get over how legit the kids menu was - it looked delicious! It was a great experience and I will definitely be coming back more often. read more

Showed up for my reservation, with some people who drove in from out of town, only to be told a table wouldnt be ready for another 20 minutes. 20 minutes later the hostess updated us that it would be another 15-20 minutes... which would be only 30 minutes before last call. Will definitely not reutrn to this bar on any night that i expect to be busy, and would not recommend it to anyone who expects a table to be ready at the time of the their reservation. read more

EXTREMELY disappointed service. Arrived at 7:30pm. At the 9pm(wait originally stated @ an hour) we saw 5 tables open "for reservations" which also claimed to be held open for 15min. The broadway is the place to go for any big game - NHL, MLB, NFL, maybe even MLS...any major men's sporting event (not the World Cup since they didn't qualify) you can guarantee the game will be on every TV with the speakers on. However, when the women are representing our country for the World Cup the TVs might be on but do NOT count on the speakers to be on. Even when the game is on a weekday in the middle of the afternoon and all 20 people in the place are watching and cheering the women on, the Broadway will NOT turn the speakers on, even if you politely ask because "people aren't there to watch the game." Good thing there are other bars a stones throw away that know how to represent and support the women's national team. read more

We have visited the Broadway several times for dinner, brunch and just for drinks. The space is deceiving from outside, you would think it to be pretty average but it is in fact pretty huge. First time ever here, Shannon was our server and was so sweet, food was immaculate. The hostesses can leave the attitude at the door. They don't smile, not friendly, they messed up our reservation and then didn't even apologize and tried to make it like it was our fault. Even came to our table to try to tell us that we were wrong and that we made the reservation for 1130pm when my friend called and said 1130 for BRUNCH. The attitude really sucks. read more
