This was my first time at this location. In general, I love the capital grille, one of my favorite steak houses. The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated. The service is top tier and they also offer valet parking (make sure to pay at the table for this). I enjoyed the fresh oysters on the half shell and the lobster bisque to start, a wonderful start. For my entree I enjoyed the porcini rubbed bone-in ribeye with 15-year aged balsamic. The steak was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sides I ordered the creamed spinach, roasted wild mushrooms and lobster Mac and cheese. The lobster Mac and cheese was okay, a bit dry and not enough lobster in my opinion. I actually came here on Thanksgiving night by myself and was able to find a seat at the bar. The bartenders were so nice and it seems they know a lot of people and know the menu. It was very busy but festive music was playing and a good cheerful vibe in the atmosphere. The guy bartender helped me right away and he was very polite and told me the Thanksgiving specials of the night. I only ordered a Caesar salad and calamari. I love the different bread options! We went to TCG for my birthday and it was superb. The service was excellent! The food, oohhh I was stuffed. My hubby and I ordered the filet Oscar, which was filet mignon, with lump crabmeat on top. As soon as you walk in, the staff graciously greets you at the door. I do recommend reservations, whether it be for lunch or dinner. For dinner, I had the Delmonico steak, medium rare. My latest outing was taking my best friend out for his birthday. He was blown away by their whiskey selection (he's a real connoisseur). Dinner was fantastic as always with the most luscious steaks in town. But as much as I love their steak, I have to admit that the soy glazed bacon brussel sprouts might be my favorite of their dishes. The potatoes au gratin are similarly fantastic. Upscale national steakhouse chain, located at the heart of Baltimore Inner Harbor. Made an online reservation a day prior for Friday 6pm dinner. The place quickly became crowded a little after 6:30 and line began to form at the front door. Walk-in could be accomodated, but given the popularity as well as ease of reservation, reservation is highly recommended. Decor: East Coast clubhouse style with dim but comfortable yellow lighting. Elegant mahogany walls and a good selection of paintings. Lighting could be a bit too dim for some; a nearby table had to use their cellphone flashlight to check their menus which could be a bit unpleasant for adjacent diners. Service: top-notch. Very friendly, always a big smile, familiar with the menu, made good recommendation of specials. Kitchen could accomodate some rotation and combo of menu items. Food: Oysters on the half shell---ordered half a dozen Blue Point oysters from upstate New York. Smaller than the Blue Points I had last week at Atlantic City, but packed far richer briney flavor. Also tasted very fresh. Lobster Bisque---a bit too thick, but rich flavor of lobster, and very generous portion of lobster meat (one section of body and a whole claw) for the price. Bone-in filet and lobster tail---first time having the filet bone-in, this is a special cut for today's menu; lobster tail was standard. Filet ordered medium. The color was on the dark side definitely, and in some small parts the sufrace was overcharred and a bit bitter, but overall very good quality of meat, doneness was spot-on, and tenderness of filet combined very well with the meaty marrow flavor brought by the bone. Lobster tail was seasoned nicely, poached to perfection, still bouncy but had the standard lobster flavor. Flourless chocolate expresso cake---heavy chocolate flavor, expresso taste was a bit underwhelming. Also too sweet for my taste. Overall: Not impeccable, but given the ease of reservation, the comfy interior, and quality of service and food, I cannot complain the price tag of under $200 for a four-course steak and seafood dinner. read more

My husband and I have visited The Capital Grille for dinner approximately 6 times. Last night we went in with a couple friends and had a fantastic meal! Lazaros (hopefully I spelled correctly) was our server. He was excellent! We had him on prior visits and he is extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu (food and drink) and provided perfect service. I started with a glass of wine while other members of the party had beer and mixed drinks. No complaints drink wise. Our waters were kept filled the entire time. As an appetizer we had the calamari which is my favorite. It come with peppers and is the only calamari I eat that does not require a dipping sauce. Yes, it is that good! My friend had the lobster bisque soup and thought it was great. I should mention the bread basket they provide complimentary...we had two of them =) The basket comes with a few types of bread and rolls, including matzah. I definitely over ate when it came to bread. For entrees were had lamb chops, sliced filet and two Kona crusted steaks. All of the entrees were cooked perfectly and were devoured completely. We ordered a variety of sides to include truffle fries, au gratin potations, spinach, asparagus and mushrooms. All of them tasted great and were cooked appropriately. We were celebrating a friend's birthday so we were sure to let Lazaros know. He did not fail and brought out a beautiful dessert plate that had a chocolate cake and a cheesecake on it. Both desserts were delicious and the plate was garnished with fresh fruit. The plate said 'happy birthday' and we realized it was written it chocolate! So cute. I have never had a bad experience in all of my visits to Capital Grille. The food is always delicious and the service is wonderful. How lucky were we that we had a gift certificate for the Capital Grille and used it to celebrate my birthday. What we really like about this restaurant is that they are always consistent in service and quality of the food. The staff had sprinkled the table with sparkly confetti and left a lovely note wishing me Happy Birthday. Our server, Mark Wiedorfer, is the consummate server - he always remembers how we like our steaks prepared - "medium rare plus." He is so attentive and friendly. They always bring the most delectable hot rolls, onion, rye and lavash bread to the table just after you are seated. We started our dining experience with the Roasted Pear and Gorgonzola salad that had roasted pears, gorgonzola cheese, candied walnuts and dried cherries in a walnut vinaigrette. The salad was crisp and loaded with flavor. My husband savored the 10 ounce Filet Mignon. I chose the 14 oz. Dry Aged New York Strip Au Poivre with Courvoisier Cream Sauce. Mark had the chef go light on the peppercorns. It was just right. Actually, it was so large, I could only eat half of it. We enjoyed a bottle of the Terrazas Altos Malbec. The wine was full bodied, with flavors of berries and figs and was the perfect accompaniment to our steaks. The surprise came at the end of our dinners when they presented me with a Happy Birthday dessert plate. It had the Capital Grille Cheesecake, Flourless Chocolate Expresso Cake and Seasonal Berries. What a lovely presentation and thoughtful gift, it was the perfect sweet ending to a perfect evening. Valet parking is no longer free, it now cost $13.00, but it is so worth it. Sandra was so attentive, engaging, professional.. .just everything. She was one of the best servers that I have ever experienced. I appreciated her care and her knowledge of the menu. When we arrived, we were greeted and taken to our seat within minutes. Our waiter (I think he goes by the name Frog), was amazing. I loved his energy and how he made it a point for us to enjoy our evening. Food/Drink: One of the things that I gave up for lent is red meat so I knew that I couldn't enjoy one of their delicious steaks, lol. I will say that the meal I had made me forget all about it. We both ordered the "special of the day", which was crab imperial with seared scallops. Let me tell y'all...that meal was AMAZING. Real lump crab meat and the scallops were cooked to perfection. I also ordered a cup of lobster bisque and we shared the creamed spinach. Both were really good. For the drinks, I ordered the Stoli Doli and she ordered the Cosmopolitan. Yummy. While we were enjoying appetizers, we noticed an increasingly boisterous party seated across from us. All women of variant ages. All seemingly mothers or grandparents. That all seemed to have toddlers with them. Besides the loud speech, a few of these mothers obviously did not read the dress code policy of the Capital Grille. One young lady had on a shirt that I thought might be a nursing shirt designed to easily access her breast to feed the child. The whole side of her torso was uncovered. And a child that she grabbed out of her chair by one arm. And wearing Jean shorts that barely covered 50% of her rear. This is Just the sort of thing I need to see when I am attempting to give my wife my attention. If a business can't enforce its rules, why have them? IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
