What a gem! Our friends took us up the mountain to enjoy a sumptuous meal at The Clinkscale. Husband and friend ordered filets prepared "Pittsburg style" and they were perfect. I had the shrimp and grits (wonderful Cajun spice) and my friend had the salmon. Finished off sharing the beignets (crispy pillows of goodness) and the peach bread pudding. I was visiting from California and went here for dinner with an old coworker. The views and the food were exceptional. But the thing that made this place stand out was the service. There was a miscommunication about my friend's main dish. Not only did the waitress apologize, but she brought the manager over and they brought her some sides on the house to nibble on while they prepared her salmon. They also gave us a dessert to share on the house. They were extremely attentive and gracious, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this place. Wonderful brunch spot in Jerome! We were staying in Sedona and decided to take a day trip to Jerome. The Clinkscale was a fantastic option for us. The restaurant is small, but aesthetically pleasing with their hardware finishes on the bar. We also found out that they have a few renovated hotel rooms upstairs from the restaurant. Destiny our waitress was very kind to us during our visit. The fish tacos were AMAZING - Delicious recommendation! Fiance said his burger & fries were incredible. Tip - save the ranch dressing to eat with your fries - or request it. Hubby had the shrimp gumbo & I had the filet served in its own skillet with butter - one if best fillets I've ever had. Drinks were lovely too. I enjoyed the AZ prickly pear mojito & hubby had their Manhattan. Even though we were full after dinner, we decided to order their dessert beignets served with a chocolate, vanilla, & raspberry sauces. I thought they were just ok. Excellent food, service and unique atmosphere. I had the roasted cauliflower sandwich with fries and it was delicious! My husband had the grilled cheese with tomato soup and loved it too! The burger juicy and tender the fries season to perfection. The salad had goat cheese and pine nuts heavenly. We're thinking about coming back for dinner. Well we came back for dinner. My birthday weekend extravaganza. Our family is absolutely fed up with all these over-hyped, over-reviewed places that trick people into thinking they're about to eat something special. We can't stand "BAB" places (basic ass bitch, for those who need a reminder). There's a whole crew of you out there--yes, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE--who seem to lack taste buds, self-awareness, and self-respect, flooding BAB Yelp cafes with 5-star reviews just to feel validated as you hop back into your $1,000-a-month 4Runners. It's maddening! We now have to conduct thorough research on new spots and automatically knock off a few stars to balance out the BAB reviewers. Enter The Clinkscale. We had our doubts, given its potential BAB appeal, and went in with our guard up. From the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. The decor was unique, and the staff dressed professionally and appropriately. Love it. They took our number to text when our table was ready--yes, they use technology! We strolled down the street for a cup of coffee (another good find I'll review soon) and returned when we got the text. We snagged a cool table by the bar, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The menu was unique, featuring quality food with quality ingredients. We each ordered different breakfast items and waited patiently. The food arrived promptly and was freshly made--no heating lamps or cold plates here. Kudos to the kitchen staff for knowing their stuff. Daughter #2 had the stuffed ricotta cheese pancakes--AMAZING! Daughter #3 ordered the buffalo chicken fried steak, which she declared the best she'd ever had. I went for the burger, medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection with top-notch ingredients. The lady ordered the club with sweet potato fries--absolutely amazing. This place has shot to the top of our list. We almost want to keep it a secret, but it's too good not to share.
