Love this little café. I stopped by early one morning to grab a coffee before heading to an event at Balboa Park, and it was such a nice start to the day. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and happy to chat, which made the place feel really warm and inviting. I ordered a latte and a morning bun, and both were delicious. While there isn't any indoor seating, they have a lovely outdoor patio area with plenty of tables. It's a great spot to sit with a book, get some work done, or just enjoy your coffee. I ended up spending some time there catching up on my reading before heading out to the event. I'll definitely be back.

Do not skip out!! I was searching for a good coffee place and this place came up #1. It is well deserving of that ranking. The moment my wife and I walked in, we were welcomed. It's a cute little place next to a barber shop. We asked Marissa, who is the owner what she recommended. It was the OBSL which is unique. It stands for orange, brown sugar latte. The coffee was smooth and the orange was subtle but it made this coffee so desirable. Looking back I should've ordered the vanilla bean concha which is the Mexican pan that they had available. If we are in the area we would especially brave the area to grab a coffee which is well worth it. I highly recommend this place.

The Coffee Drop is hands down one of my absolute favorite coffee shops. Tucked in the cute Golden Hill neighborhood, it has such a cozy and charming vibe. It's run by the adorable couple Evan and Marissa, who started with a coffee truck and have clearly perfected their craft. One of their signature drinks, the OBSL (Orange Brown Sugar Latte), is iconic, all their flavors are homemade and every drink is vegan, made with oat milk. I love that their menu rotates every few minutes, which is such a cute and fun touch. The pastries are always tempting but tend to sell out fast, so arrive early if you want one. The space itself is small and cute, with some outdoor seating and WiFi, making it a perfect spot to hang out for a bit. Pro tip: get their punch card, you'll definitely want it if you're planning to come back (which you will). Overall, just an amazing spot with incredible drinks and a super welcoming vibe.

Stumbled across this little gem over the weekend. My bff and I had a fun girls trip to SD and needed some good coffee before heading home. To start off, the owners are native to the SFV, which is where we call home Humble and down earth to say the least. He took the time to acknowledge it was our first time visiting the coffee shop, explained the menu and talked about his cool merch. It's a tiny space but just observing the customers who walked in/out, you know this is a staple in the community.The syrups are made in house and they only use non dairy milks. I got the iced Mexican Mocha which was oh sooo creamy and just simply delicious! My bff went with the OBSL which is their signature drink. I must say, I was a bit skeptical about tasting it cause I had never heard of an orange flavored brown sugar latte. Well, it just works! It's smooth, creamy and yummy! 10/10!! We know exactly where we're gonna stop by next time we're in SD

We stumbled across this coffee shop during our stay, and can I just say, how cute is this place? The best part of all was getting to meet and chat with the owners, who are also the baristas. They are incredibly friendly, kind, and truly make the experience that much more enjoyable. It's a small location, which adds to its charm and makes it feel unique and fun. I also really loved the attention to detail throughout the shop, you can tell a lot of thought went into it. While we were ordering, the owner shared a bit of the history behind the coffee shop, and I have to say, it's worth the visit for that alone. The coffee itself is excellent. I always start with an Americano to really taste the coffee beans, and this one did not disappoint, great flavor and balance. We will definitely be coming back and hope to continue supporting this business on our next visit.

The Coffee Drop is hands down my favorite coffee shop in San Diego. Their Mexican mocha is my absolute go-to--sweet, strong, and perfect every single time. And in the summer, nothing hits like their espresso tonic... so refreshing! Evan and Marissa, the owners, do such a beautiful job creating a space where everyone feels welcomed and seen. I've been coming here long enough that all the morning regulars know each other--it's that kind of community spot. The outdoor seating area is gorgeous too, whether you want to take a little break or get some work done in the fresh air. They also offer gluten-free pastries, and even though I'm not gluten-free, I still grab a concha every now and then because they're that good. Their most famous drink is the OBSL, and it definitely deserves the hype--super tasty! If you're in San Diego, I highly recommend stopping by. It's the kind of place you visit once and immediately understand why people keep coming back.

The Coffee Drop is such a special little shop and you can tell once you walk through the doors and get such a genuine sweet greeting from the owners, Marissa and Evan. They truly make you feel like you're part of this little community that comes together to appreciate their passionate small-business. They make a city as big as San Diego feel like you're in your local small town shop and I absolutely love it. I love how intimate the shop is with just a bench inside, some outdoor seating and the cutest little plants that give me inspo for my own plant collection every time I go. The shop makes espresso based drinks only and is completely dairy free with oat milk, almond milk or soy milk as options in your coffee along with little baked vegan treats that never fail to satisfy. My go-to here is the Orange Brown Sugar Latte, perfect light twist to your typical coffee. The brown sugar keeps it warm and savory while the hint of orange really brightens it with each sip. This coffee shop is my personal treat every once in a while and I love it every time.

Such a cute little coffee shop! It's located in Golden Hill near the 94, and has a small shared parking lot with a barber shop and food truck. The inside is very tiny and there's only outdoor seating available. The owners are also the baristas and they're so friendly and welcoming! They recommended the Orange Brown Sugar Latte, which my friend ordered and absolutely loved. I went with the classic iced vanilla latte with oat milk and loved mine, too! All of their drinks are made with milk alternatives at no extra charge, which is a huge plus. This is definitely a hidden gem that I'll be coming back to again and again!

The barista who owns the shop with his partner is really kind and personable, and he shared the story of the shop with me while he made the drink. The drink itself hit the spot on a hot sunny day. Came in for the first time today and i loved it. The owner was there and greeted us, I can tell they take pride in what they do, it shows. My mom was curious about the "latte art" and the owner happily showed her how he makes it, it was really sweet of him. Tried their signature drink OBSL and it was amazing, I cant wait to have it again. Happy to see local businesses in Golden Hill thriving. Love this little local coffee shop and it's an added bonus for me that's it's on the same street that I live on. Owned by a husband and wife, it's got a great story of why they opened up this place. Inside it's tiny, probably space for about 4 people. However there is a larger outdoor patio. Great place to work if you're not on calls as planes fly overhead. read more

Cute coffee shop that caught my eye while driving around. The owner was very nice and friendly and gave the best recommendations. Went here for an after work pick me up about 15 minutes before close. It was my first time and upon arrival I was kindly greeted by the owners, Marissa and Evan. Alright I'm partially to blame here. I went up and ordered an iced americano and the guy at the front recommended I get the batch coffee instead. For some reason, because I've never been here I guess, I agree to that. So I leave with a regular hot coffee, and realize this is just not what I wanted. Please do not ever do that anyone else. Not sure what the thought process was there, but it almost feels like you just didn't want to make me an americano for some reason. read more

The Coffee Drop is the most consistent coffee shop. Everything is good. The owners measure their espresso to the milligram before pulling any shot- same with their syrups. They are a non-dairy shop-which isn't for everyone- but the flavors are amazing. I read two reviews about unfriendliness which took me by surprise because they greet every single customer while still remaining efficient. read more

I love everything about this place! It's warm, inviting, the decor is great, and their coffee is some of the best in SD! My two favorites are their Iced Mexican mocha and iced OBSL! The outdoor area is spacious but also intimate and comfy! Best of all I absolutely love coming here to say hello to Marissa and Evan. I love this sweet couple who just open their coffee business here in San Diego. Originally from Los Angeles, they decided to move here and set up shop to share their experience with coffee. I had a Cortado and it was excellent. It was smooth and rich with a chocolate and and a touch of fruit flavor. It was certainly up there with one of the best I have had in San Diego, and that is a short list. There focus is just making coffee and making it well. The tear drop camper has been customized by the owners to suite there needs in providing delicious espresso based beverages. You can find them in the Golden Hill Parking Lot. If you are a coffee aficionado in San Diego, visiting "The Coffee Drop" should be on you coffee destination. read more

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. All the drinks tasted amazing, and that's coming from someone who is usually meh on coffee. The owners (Evan and Marissa) were so welcoming and passionate about their coffee shop and coffee in general. We loved how integrated this shop and its owners are to the local community. I drive by this coffee shop on my way to work daily and never have time to stop, but today was the day! The barista at the counter was very friendly asked right away if it was my first time there. We could have sworn this used to be a trailer, but that was confirmed by the owners of The Coffee Drop! They have now upgraded into their little own shop with the patio space for extra seating. They are your local small cafe in Golden Hill with a simple menu so far that's mainly espresso based. Their drinks with milk are oat milk based. They are known for their OBSL drink - Orange Brown Sugar Latte! Of course I had to try one and it is definitely their signature for a reason. It's really good with oat milk and not too sweet. The owners are so friendly and welcoming! Really great addition to the area and I'm hoping for more drinks on the menu. read more

I am so glad I stumbled upon this place on my lunch break. It is a cozy and quaint coffee shop in the area - ran by the most lovely couple. They are truly passionate about their craft and it shows in the drinks they make. Drinks are very delicious and is CONSISTENT. I go here weekly and Marissa knows my go to. The OBSL didn't sound appetizing to me at first because I'm not really a fan of orange flavors, but it has become a staple pick me up. It's small hints of orange zest and (light) sweetness of the brown sugar - very yummy! For caffeine sensitive folk, the beans they use here is from Stumptown, probably one of the most delicious decaf options I've had and Marissa is very mindful when you need a decaf drink. I've ran into too many places where decaf was requested and forgotten, leading me to my misery later in the day. Sososo happy to have this local coffee shop in my community!!! read more

So excited for the coffee drop to have its own storefront in addition to their truck. The couple who runs this spot is so friendly and remembers your order for people like me who come in multiple days a week I love their cold brew - it's the perfect pick me up. They also have a great selection of pastries for an on the go snack. While the storefront is small inside, there's a great space outside right next door with plenty of tables and seating to enjoy your coffee. read more

The Coffee Drop has quickly become my favorite coffee shop. My partner and I walk there with our dog every weekend to pick up a coffee & it's become my favorite tradition. The coffee shop owners are so kind and they are passionate about making the perfect cup of coffee for every customer. My favorite drink is the Mexican Mocha and I also highly recommend the Honey Cinnamon Latte - I love them both hot. Going to this coffee shop is like going to see your friends. The Coffee Drop opened up a few weeks ago and it will be a locals favorite! The owners are welcoming and friendly. Please keep in mind this location is oat-milk based, (you can request for an alternative milk). The menu is pretty simple. They offer iced/hot drinks and pastries. My go to order is the iced OBSL (Orange brown sugar latte). I am not a fan of very sweet drinks and they have mastered the perfect balance here. The espresso to syrup ratio is great + oat milk. I highly recommend the OBSL if you want something unique, tasty, and delicious. I have yet to try other drinks here, so I am basing this review off 1 specific drink I've ordered a few times + service/atmosphere. read more

My husband loved his coffee and said the espresso was smooth, flavorful, and let the coffee shine without being overcomplicated. The shop itself is really cool too. There's an art installation inside, an outdoor patio with additional seating, and I noticed quite a few people picking up bags of espresso beans while we were there. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.

Five different matcha drinks were offered along with hot and cold coffees and lattes. The top three matcha choices were priced at $8 each. I chose the Ordinary Pleasure which was the first one. Pandan sticky rice milk and mango puree were added to the matcha and topped with a salted coconut foam. I wasn't a fan of the foam, but the matcha flavor was intense and contrasted by the fruity puree on the bottom of the cup. The baristas were very focused with measuring the exact amounts for each ingredient in the drinks they were preparing. The matcha quality seemed to be very good based on what I tasted so maybe it's why the price was $1 higher than what I have tried elsewhere.

I'm a huge coffee fanatic and have tried more coffee shops in San Diego than I can count, but this place is hands down my favorite. The coffee here is consistently amazing, never an off day. I also love that they're fully dairy free! The pastries are delicious, and the owners, Evan and Marissa, are just the sweetest people. They always remember my name and my order, and we usually end up chatting for a bit, it feels more like visiting friends than just grabbing coffee.
