3.5 Stars This is a unique little bistro that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast menu appealed to me, but not so much to my wife and mother-in-law, who were expecting more traditional selections and a sit-down-and-order style establishment. When you walk in, there's only one large menu board, located on a glass covered table top. This is a little awkward when they're busy, as everyone is crowded around trying to read everything. There's also very specific instructions for ordering your coffee (see menu photos). DRINKS: Coffee drink selections were wonderful and delicious, however, there's no table service for the drinks and the ordering process is super regimented. Once ordered, your name is called and you have to go to the front counter to pick-up. We sat in the back and never heard our name being called. FOOD: I ordered the Steak & Eggs, which was served open-face on grilled garlic toast (very tasty). My wife and mother-in-law had the basic Combine Breakfast (2 eggs, 2 bacon, potatoes, and garlic toast)...they thought it was average. In all fairness, I believe the little quirks of the ordering process left them already weary of this place. SERVICE: High marks here...5 Stars. Everyone was super friendly and hustling. The young lady who brought out our food, utensils, and even ran up front to retrieve our coffees was wonderful. SUMMARY: I would definitely come back to try their interesting takes on various dishes. I think that once you get used to the ordering process and get to know their menu items, it would be a much better experience. I usually get a chai from here but today they were out so I just ordered a matcha latte from here for the first time.My matcha experience was really lacking in flavor and the temperature of my drink was not hot enough to be "lukewarm".The lady was kind enough to let me see what matcha brand they use for their drinks. I personally don't like it when they use wholesale matcha it usually goes bad very quickly.I also didn't like the condition of the restroom today I saw that the paper towel wasn't refilled and it was on a pedestal thing was partly soaked in water.... read more

Don't make the same mistake as me!!! AVOID IF YOU ARE BRINGING friends/family!!! This went from my favorite place to one of my most disliked establishments. I brought my friends to combine kitchen on my birthday as I naively thought this was a solid, straightforward hassle-free self-service place. The curly haired male cashier with the white cap could not explain the "fees and charges" to our order despite us ordering separately. When I inquired, he shrugged it off with a nasty irritated tone saying "fee and charges idk what you want me to say". There is a California law specifically to prevent hidden charges. The least you can do is explain nicely what the customer is paying for. The fee turned out to be a 20% mandatory tip for a party of six that he couldn't bother to explain to each person ordering (he only slyly asked the first person in line if we were together and added a charge to us), but there is no service when you order standing up, do self-seating, and you have to pick up your own drinks from the counter. AND YOU ARE PAYING TIP PRIOR TO RECEIVING ANY SERVICE since you pay when you order. There is no difference in being a big party or coming individually but just a desperate cash-grab. Not only did I end up with super disappointed that I even recommended this place to my friends, but it ruined my appetite which is the worst thing a food establishment can do imo. I've never had a bad time at combine before today and WAS excited to come here on my birthday. imagine the disappointment. I regret coming here and cancelled my item because I could not stomach the treatment I just received. Five people eating still ended up paying the 20% gratuity of a party of 6. So sad this cashier has ruined my experience at combine for no reason. Why is asking for simple transparency so offensive? Or is the entitlement to money so strong that customers are expected to not question random fees and charges? :( read more

We used to love this place, but it's been really disappointing the last several times we've eaten here. The food takes FOREVER to come out. Like 20-30 min for avocado toast, and there was hardly any line in front of us and not a full dining area. This last time I waited about 15-20 min for my drink, only to find out the barrista made it wrong. When I politely asked for it to be remade, she put my drink at the end of the queue and made three drinks ahead of me before she remade my latte. This said, we actually really love Combine Kitchen! The pork belly is amazing, and the coffee is wonderful. If the service improves, I will gladly replace this review with a good one. Would love to see this place thrive again! read more

Was in the area after a hike and wanted something warm for the perfect fresher weather , upon entry we were greeted with a smile . We were all hungry and the burrito looked great. The food was served quickly and there was indoor and outdoor seating . The burrito was good and filled with potatoes along with eggs and bacon which were cooked to perfection. ,I love potatoes so it was perfect . The salsa served with the burrito was not spicy but perfect for someone who doesn't eat spicy like myself. I can't get over how moist and dense the muffin was . I will go again to pick up a warm muffin . The drinks were flavorful I would definitely recommend if in the area. We had a few interactions with the staff and all were helpful and smiling. read more

I told multiple servers that there was a dead bird right outside the door but no one did anything about it. I mentioned that there were no napkins for me to be able to remove the bird and they literally just said " aww that's sad" referring to the dead bird and proceeded to do nothing about it. That was a very weird experience for me because I was in the service industry for multiple years and it was trained to make sure the outside of our establishment was also up to compliance. The avocado toast and the fried season potatoe wedges and also the French toast was so delicious! I also had the iced black coffee and it was okay but one of the best but because I like it more caramelized and they didn't add as much. It was a a delicious brunch all in all because I also tried the cheese quesadilla with egg and it was so good. Actually the only thing is that the service wasn't as good when it came to asking for more items. We wanted water and was waiting for a waiter to come our way so I had to stand up and get my own condiments and water. Not sure if they're like that all the time. read more

My boss and I were at n the neighborhood and needed a quick bite before a meeting. The 4-star rating and outside patio in the shade made us try it out. It will be the last time. Service at this "mostly coffee house" was pretty slow. They have this horizontal glass case holding the menu which was pretty unique. I ordered a banh mi sandwich and my boss got a fried chicken sandwich. It took a while for the food to get delivered but nothing horrific. What was horrific was the millennial customers taking up tables and being obnoxious with their speaker phones and tablets. I felt like a bitter old man telling one young women to use headphones during her call. She had headphones on the table in front of her. This place is more Starbucks than a restaurant, for sure. People taking up tables using WiFi. My sandwich was terrible. The pork belly was overly fatty and the baguette was not very good either. My boss did not care for his sandwich. I'd like to say the nitro cold brew sold at this place is fire!!! It is frothy, creamy, cold, and so smooth. I've been on the nitro cold brew bandwagon for quite some time because the texture is like a cold glass of draft beer but made with coffee instead because I don't care for beer. I do love coffee though. They offered us samples when we were not sure about certain items so I thought that was a nice gesture. On our way to Vegas, and needed a quick bite to eat. Wanted something light and came across the avocado toast at The Combined Kitchen. First, I love that there's a Tesla charging station so plugged in my car while I ordered. I was pleasantly surprised how busy it was at 9am on a Friday. Must be a local favorite! Staff were very friendly and bathrooms were clean. On to the food, I loved how soft the toast was and the pickled onions were a great addition. I also ordered an oat milk London Fog which was the best I've ever had! There was absolutely no bitterness and it was so smooth!! Good brunch fare in the San Bernardino County! I came here the other day with my boyfriend and his mom. We ordered everything altogether: she ordered the turkey burger, my boyfriend got The Combine Breakfast, and I got the bahn mi. The food came out within 10 minutes; weirdly though, they didn't have the bahn mi on the order. We had to go in and pay for that, and then they quickly brought it out. It was a weird situation but I'm glad it didn't take too long for them to bring the food out after. The food was generally pretty good. The portion sizes were decent, not great. The breakfast seemed smallish and I found it weird that the turkey burger didn't come with any sides. Overall though, pretty good stuff, just nothing to write home about. read more

Have been coming to this place for over six years, it was my favorite brunch spot in RC, but sadly not anymore. The vegan bowl used to be served with fried rice with pesto sauce and topped with pickled red onion, cucumber, and mushrooms, and fried garlic slices, it was delicious with great presentation! But last eeek when I got my order, I thought they brought me the wrong dish, it's completely different, in a very bad way. First of all the presentation looked like they just threw whatever they could find in their kitchen onto a bowl of rice. Instead of the original ingredients, they put plain tofu cut into different shapes and sizes, raw carrots that was cut into different thickness, and some brown minced vegan stuff. Fried rice was replaced with overcooked smushed steamed rice mixed with quinoa without the pesto sauce. I added pork belly to my vegan bowl and It used to be a whole slice of tender pork belly with crispy skin cut into 5 pieces, it's replaced by only three pieces of very dried and tasteless pork. Hubby ordered steak (medium) & egg (scrambled), the steak was not only well done, it's so hard that he couldn't even cut through or chew it. And the egg was not scrambled egg either. We both only took a couple of bites of our food. It was just horrible. It's so sad that we had to say goodbye to the combine kitchen we used to love. read more

The girl I ordered with wasn't sure of a lot of things but the guy who brought me my food delivered great customer service. I'd come back but not eager to visit every week unless I was in school. I've been here a few times and it's always been a good experience. It's quite popular, so finding a seat may be difficult. The honey lavender latte is my favorite since it's both sweet and coffee tasting, but if you like your caffeine strong strong, you may not enjoy it here. First time here ... and let me tell you it wasn't the best experience. ... we walked in and it wasn't the ambience. I thought it would be the staff was uninviting, but we did really want to try this place because I did see it was a new place and we love to try new coffee shops around the area. we ordered two coffees and two meals. We got the salmon toast and the chicken sandwich. This took almost 40 minutes to receive. We sat there patiently with our number on our table no coffee, no food no nothing till I got up to ask and I finally saw the server coming outside with one plate, which was a salmon. I asked my coffees and she said that they had been sitting on the counter for a while. We weren't aware that we were supposed to wait for our coffees since this was our first time here and the staff didn't tell us anything she just gave us the number and sent us on our way. then finally five minutes after my boyfriend's food came out I sat there waiting for him to receive his food so that we could eat together when his food got there. The chicken was soggy and not crispy. It was supposed to be a crispy chicken sandwich. The waitress brought us our coffees. His was iced and mine was hot and my coffee looked all curd. It was not appealing and I asked nicely if she could please have them remake it. Five minutes later, she bought the coffee back and it wasn't good. It was super spicy which I know chai tea lattes might have a little bit of spice, but this was a little bit of overload. It kinda tasted like there was a lot ginger in it very strong, and not tasty. I went back inside and asked him if they could Please make me something else since the Chai wasn't subtle it was super spicy . She was fine and agreed to make another one but when the coffee was ready, the staff member just called it out I didn't seem happy about having to remake another coffee. I asked the girl behind the counter if it was mine, and she didn't even acknowledge to look at me. She just said yes, I kept talking to her coworkers . Not a very welcoming place and honestly it doesn't give me any want to come back. We ate all the food because it wasn't cheap. It was actually kind of pricey and for that price I honestly expected so much better not just from the food & coffee but from the staff because you more than anybody know that the staff is what makes the establishment great. it's clearly lacking good customer service . I wasn't rude or mean to them, but I did make a note that is not the environment that will make anyone specially me come back . My boyfriend brought me here for Valentine's Day because he knows how much I love coffee houses and to say I was so disappointed is an understatement. Coffee and breakfast is good, the prices are way too high and feels like they want to take advantage of customers. I tried buying a protein bar that I can buy across the street at gas station and it was double the price. $4 dollars for a bar that costs 1.99. The avocado toast is a must! Chai lattes also a must! Break fast is also pretty good. If you want to spend a little more to get less, this is the place. Prices are higher than startbucks and not as good as Starbucks. read more

Food and drinks were good. Plenty of seating and staff was nice. The negative 1 star was based on their ordering system and long lines just to order the food. The wait for getting our food was also long, but I get it... they're busy and probably short staffed. So, the lines can get long when ordering and this is all due to the fact that they only have ONE person taking the orders! Make sure you order everything u want to order because if you forget or want to add something else, you'd have to get back in the long lines again. We went for brunch on Sunday so maybe those are busy hours? Who knows, but I'm hoping that they at least consider adding another person to take orders one day. read more

Forgot to take pictures of the food. The mimosa wad great it had mint for looks, and blueberries in it. Cappuccino was also great so pretty. Line was long but we went on a Sunday definetly a busy time to go is Sunday breakfast time. My boyfriend got french toast with a side of eggs no complaints very delicious I got the yolk and shrooms. I happened to be in Rancho this morning & decided I had time to kill so called up Lily to ask if she would meet me for breakfast. This place had good reviews so I thought we would give it a go. Line wasn't to bad when we arrived at 10:30am. Tips... order your food then you get to sit. The menu is located on a table directly in front of the door... it is literally the top of the table. Beverage menu is located behind register on the chalkboard. Lily ordered "combine breakfast" which she really enjoyed the toast and eggs... the potatoes not so much they needed a bit more seasoning. I however was FLOORED with my Avocado Toast - truth be told I'm not sure I was even engaged in conversation with Lily as the flavors were waking up my palate! I originally wanted a Earl Grey Iced Tea *note any of their teas can be made into Iced Teas* however they were out of the Earl Grey so I got the English Breakfast instead and since they had simple syrup I was a happy camper! There was seating outside, counter and communal tables to sit and dine. I WILL be returning. The food was excellent, but was a little pricier than what I'm accustomed to paying if I go out to breakfast by myself, $25. However, in their defense I will say the quality and portion of food was worth every penny. I even left a $5 tip in their glass jar. Customer Service was great and I watched the cooks and staff busting their butts off. Also, their chai tea is worth me taking a drive to Rancho vs. going to Starbucks.
