The Copper Note is a great change up for a dining option on Prescott. It is a little more formal and has an art deco vibe. Great bar, terrific views of the Courthouse Square. Request a window side table if you can. The staff are wonderful, Kelly was our waitress and she was terrific. Wine pours are generous and some of the best we've had in a while, great selection of wines both by the glass and bottle. Their martini looks dangerous so order at your peril! Food was hard to fault, only criticism was that the flavor profile of the hummus was pedestrian, there was no overtones of tahini or garlic, it was solid but not spectacular, we subbed the pita for veggies and there was a good selection provided. Wife had the soup and salad combo, both the minestrone and the Caesar were what you'd expect, good solid execution. My Voodoo pasta was stellar, great rendition of this dish, the spicy sausage was that, the chicken moist and tender and flavor packing a punch. New York cheesecake which they fly in from New York was phenomenal, highly recommend it. Walked away from this meal very satisified with the overall dining expereince. read more

The quality of the steak is similar to Sprouts "Penny Meat" which might be good for a dog, but still questionable as it was 90% fat & gristle with a yellow tint on what should have been a cool red center of the muscle. I was sure that the chef must have been pissed off over something to even allow that cut of beef near his stove, but to allow it out of his kitchen was insulting, much less on my wife's plate. The only way it should have escaped the kitchen was in route to a garbage bin. At least when I showed it to the manager, he had an unfeigned look of horror. But to make the experience even worse, it took over half an hour to replace the rib eye, so the wife and ate our meals separately (yes I did) because my Ahi looked and tasted superb . . . that is until I uncovered a small jet black hair hiding under the rice . . . . I'll presume it was a hair off the back of the cook's knuckle. No, I didn't report the hair because my wife was already having a miserable time as it was without the additional disgust. On the plus side, the wait service was fair and the wine superior. Would I recommend this once five star establishment now? Not on your life! Maybe someone was having a really bad day, but when paying a couple hundred dollars for a celebratory meal (my birthday as well as the nation's 250th) I don't expect to share someone else's bad experience in a restaurant. read more

I want to be thoughtful and yet raise the good the bad and no ugly. 1:30 afternoon lunch. First time, local patrons. Our meal and the service we received was 5 Stars. My wife had the filet which was perfect. Each restaurant is different when you ask for rare to medium. You need to ask what they consider doneness is to that chef. I enjoyed the swordfish and it was perfect and not dry. We dine at numerous high end restaurants and that's not to be snobby. It's just one of Pleasures. The veggies on both entrees were perfect and I'm a veggie guy. The wine for my wife was superb. Now to the bad. I'm glad I didn't see a tip already charged as reported in a previous complaint. that would be a never return flag. I was also disappointed in the charge for using a credit card but this isn't about the3% fee. If we're a mom and pop operationi can see that They have prices of most high end restaurants in Scottsdale that don't have that fee. But it's dragging ever nickel out of a patron as you can get. I'm not cheap But small pores on cocktails and and add on fees are a deal breaker. Long review but I hope helpful for others. We did not mind the generally high prices because of the novel menu, the beautiful restoration and location. We have been several times. What we DO MIND is the VERY SLOW SERVICE for a cocktail, and then when you get the cocktail the pour is very small! It costs very little for the owner to have a generous pour. Went here for a birthday dinner for my brother on a Saturday night. They were running about 10 mins behind but we were a little bit late anyway so no harm, no foul. Host staff were very friendly and welcoming from the start. Our server came right away, took our drink order and returned very quickly and all the drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend the old fashion and the bourbon smash. We ordered the ribeye MR, cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. 2 others got the Filet, one MR and one M and both done to perfection. Lastly someone got the hemp salad with steak and she absolutely loved it. They gave my brother a free dessert for his birthday (the cheesecake). It was amazing. It was a deconstructed cheesecake served in a martini glass, we all had a taste and was exquisite. They preface that there is automatic tipping in large parties and preface a 2-hour limit so not sure why so many folks on here are complaining about that. This is my second visit to the Copper Note the first visit I had a wonderful bowl of minestrone soup and their seafood dish with clams. I was not impressed with the dish for with the clams. It was lacking flavor. It was bland. Second visit I had their wonderful chowder soup, but the Aji salad had no flavor and after spending over $400 for four people, we were rushed out at the end I won't be going back. read more

Last night was our "Maiden Voyage" at the Copper Note. Loved the atmosphere though pondered the amplified noise level when the restaurant is at capacity. The welcome, to being seated, was lovely. Our server & service was amazing. Quite the attention to detail... knowledgeable & informative. That's the 5 star part. The menu, pricing & food was not what we had hoped for. A 2-3 star experience overall. I'll start with the "liked"... Prawn Cocktail was "yum" & super filling. Totally enjoyed the cup of AZ Shrimp & Clam Chowder w/ a kick of heat but would have preferred for the tail to be peeled & the shrimp to be chopped, rather than whole. The Baby Back Ribs w/ Mango Habanero BBQ sauce were moist & tender, the sides; sweet potato mashed was OK ish , the mixed vegetables were undercooked & lacked flavor, not so good but the Coleslaw was tasty. The blackened Salmon was also ok, a bit dry, a touch over cooked & not as much flavor as I anticipated, (wouldn't order it again). It truly needed something. The sides were not good... under done veggies, not flavorful or enjoyable! The quinoa rice pilaf w/ ??? peppers, maybe? was just blah & kind of boring... really lacked flavor. So... considering how pricey this restaurant is, I don't know if we would go back because the food, as a whole, was not amazing. Sadly, for us... it was underwhelming. read more

This was possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. Upon arrival we were informed that our reservation was fifteen minutes delayed. That was ok but from there it went down hill. After two and a half hours we were still waiting for our food we asked and we were told repeatedly so sorry. However still no food and it was our 42nd anniversary. I'm going to give the Copper Note a good review because I thought overall it was really good. The owner came and talked to us about the restaurant and other plans he has in Prescott which was wonderful. We sat in one of their large, long booths, there were five of us. Service was great, food was great, it's really nicely decorated. Being such a large space and such high ceilings, it was very noisy. We had trouble hearing each other. I hope they can find a way to put some more sound panels or something in. Going forward we will go with less people each time. Other than that, great to have a nice high-end restaurant in Prescott. Beautiful decor and wonderful ambience; stellar, friendly, professional service that was clearly intended to be pleasing at every step, and fabulous food from appetizer through soup/salad, main course and dessert. They are trying hard but missed the mark. The automatic tip, absolutely ridiculous. Most people are not aware and of course, the server is not going to tell you that it's already added. Right off- 2 different menus - i guess they updated prices already but didn't replace all the old menus. Mentioned this to the waiter- his smart-as*ed reply- "well the cost is really whatever the computer says -not the menu". I told him i'm paying what's on the menu. Drinks took too long - but good. Appetizer took too long-but good. Dinner took WAY TOO long - 35min wait. Since there is a warning sign right on your table "2hr max for meal" we were close to bumping into the max time allowed ! Never seen a warning like that in an upscale place. Ordered small Filet - warmed over far too long. Knife had difficulty sawing thru it. COSTCO far better piece of meat . They refill the water way too often, when glasses are already full. Can't have a decent conversation without being interrupted for one thing or another. Nice view but for the price of food - Far below expectations. Two stars for ambiance. read more

We went to The Copper Note for dinner after a very special evening. The interior had warm lighting and a modern but comfortable feel. It definitely felt like an upscale dining experience. Staff were insightful and attentive. We received a free berry cheesecake in a cute martini glass to celebrate. We were seated at a table against a window so we could view the Yavapai County Courthouse square -- beautiful. It created a lovely vibe for the dinner. We ordered the chips and guac and salsa and they both needed more salt and flavor. For our main dish, we ordered the center-cut ribeye sourced from a local ranch and cooked medium. It was served with the garlic herb butter that we could choose from three offered toppings. We also added on a lobster tail -- wonderful touch! The lobster was sweet and cooked well. It was the best part of the dish in my opinion. The ribeye was delicious and I liked that the fat cap was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The meat could've been more tender but I would order the steak again it was delicious and enough for us to share as an entree. As sides we had the herb fingerling potatoes and the grilled zucchini and squash. The potatoes were simple and executed fine. I prefer a crispier surface personally, but to each their own. They were yummy still. The zucchini and squash was a surprising star of the meal. Very tasty, with a charred finish that added complexity to the flavor of the vegetable. They were cooked in spear form and not overcooked and mushy. Very nice. We also ordered a couple flutes of Prosecco that was tasty, and my partner tried the strawberry basil cocktail. She found it tasty, but I think the basil was a little overwhelming. With basil you only need a touch to go a long ways. A new server checked on us at the end and she was the star of the experience -- she was warm, kind and energetic -- a lovely lady who made us feel welcome and celebrated. She should be an MVP of staff. Overall, it was a very delicious and pleasant experience to cap off our very special day! It is a worthy replacement to the County Seat restaurant that existed in the space previously. I would absolutely go back and make it an annual experience when we're in town. I give it four stars because of my critiques of the food but would do 4.5 if I could. I encourage people to give it a try for a nice night out. At last we have a first-class restaurant in Prescott! The dining room is lovely; modern, spacious, and bright with windows overlooking Courthouse Square. The table settings are beautiful including copper colored silverware with water served from hammered copper pitchers. The service was impeccable. The team (yes, team) that waited on our table was smiling and gracious even though it was Thanksgiving Day. Dinner started with fresh pastries followed by a beautiful arugula salad with delicious additions like candied pecans and sun dried cranberries. For entrees I got the prime rib (literally the best I've ever had) and my DH got the pork chop with delicious sides of yukon gold potatoes, sweet potatoes, and sausage and sage stuffing. The green beans were done beautifully. Bright green and crisp (unusual to get vegetables done correctly). Dessert was apple Betty & pumpkin pie. The whole experience was joyful. I must add that we stopped going out to dinner (prior to Copper Note) because we were so disheartened with our local restaurants. We are thrilled to find the Copper Note and encourage you to experience it for yourself. Can't imagine you'd be disappointed. Here's to keeping this treasure busy! read more
