Just decided to check it out and see if my wheelchair would fit inside. From the very wonderful warm greeting to the fantastic "Breakfast Bowls" we found this to be a 5 star restaurant. I know it must get crowded on weekends, but this was in the middle of the week and we had no problem finding a place. We both decided to try something new and each order one of the Breakfast Bowls. We loved them and I had enough to take home for breakfast the next day. The service was nice and friendly. We will be back! read more

A Hidden gem if you ask me. My girlfriend and I love going out to breakfast here. It's small but it's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of big breakfast places. The veggies with our omelettes were fresh. Food is delicious. No complaints we've been here at least five times. Yum. read more

Mostly done the breakfasts, and must say they are fantastic. I like to mix things up with my omelets and they have handled every wacky request with aplomb. Also they have a great selection of specials, and are always trying new and interesting things. Like I said I've mostly done breakfast so can't comment extensively on the sandwiches. I had first happened upon the Corner Cafe 2 summers ago. At the time I was impressed with the service and the food choices. I haven't been back in over 2 years and was blown away by the menu options! I am not a fan of mexican or hollandaise and my food choice was rock solid - I highly recommend the Pablo Sanchez Benedict. First time here the other day and won't be going back. First, we sat at the counter and there were only 2 others tables occupied.Note: really need to clean up the place. Could use a good scrubbing. We waited while the only staff chatted with the people at one of the tables. After turning around and giving her the eye twice she finally came over. Handed us a menu-way too big for breakfast, should scale it down a bit-and then went back to chatting. Had to again give her the eye that we were ready to order. I had basic eggs, homefries, toast, bacon and hubby had hash. My wasn't anything special and hubby complained that the hash tasted aweful and the coffee was bitter. Well less than an hour later we both became extremely ill. In the bathroom for the rest of day!!!! Had high expectations going by previous reviews but a big let down. read more

This is mine and my two daughter's favorite spot! We eat here at least twice a week. I have NEVER been disappointed! My favorites are the Conquistador sandwich (melt in your mouth delicious) and for breakfast I get the spicy egg and avocado, to die for!! I have tried several others but always go back to these two :O) I adore the staff, friendly and attentive. They treat my kids like family and I always appreciate that. My husband loves the pulled pork sandwiches, they have two choices and he is crazy about both. I would absolutely recommend this little hidden gem to anyone. It is definitely small inside and you may have to wait during busy times but it's worth it! I am hoping with all their business they find a way to expand. What a shame. We were so looking forward to an especially great breakfast considering the reviews. We won't be back. Here's why. What we ordered: (1) Betsy's Special which was scrambled eggs with spinach, mushrooms, onion and feta, home-fries, wheat toast and (2) Basic Breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage patty, home-fries and a side of sausage gravy. Not a thing was freshly made. And, before I go on, let me say that the 4 "dings" of a microwave we heard before we were served were very telling and we were the only folks in the restaurant when we were served. Betsy's Special consisted of canned, watery mushrooms, previously cooked onions and spinach and cubes of feta from a package. The eggs were obviously already cooked or a ladle of diluted mixture was thrown in with the mushrooms, onions and spinach, making the eggs look pathetically anemic and the whole presentation lacking any kind of finesse. Not a bit of seasoning was added. The previously toasted toast was smeared with butter and put under some kind of heat lamp to be melted. It was limp and barely warm. Now, those home-fries...don't know when they were made but it was obvious that they weren't hot off the grill. They were cold inside and so very unappealing. They may have been microwaved a little bit. The Basic Breakfast was, well, less than basic if that's possible. At least these scrambled eggs looked yellow compared to the ones used in Betsy's Special. But, again, if these were "freshly cooked" I'll eat my hat - and that might even taste better than the eggs. The home-fries were the same lackluster ones described above. The sausage patty was limp, pre-made and pre-cooked, probably frozen or from a bag of frozen patties shipped in my some outside vendor. Not even a sausage flavor to the patty. It was microwaved...probably at the same time the home-fries were microwaved. A smaller ramekin of sausage gravy was ordered and contained large lumps of, I guess, sausage. The consistency of the gravy was like day-old mud and, yes, again no flavor or seasoning. This order was served without the limp toast which was supposed to come with it. The server offered to get a side order of toast after the meal was finished OK. We should have complained from the beginning of being served. We didn't. Ya' know sometimes when your hungry, you just eat and push aside the fact that what your eating really is lousy. I, for one, really wanted to simply fill the whole in my belly and get out of there. But, when presented with the bill, and noticing that the 3 tablespoons of sausage gravy received were $4.50, it was time to say something. It became something of a "ta-do". The young server was baffled and went back to ask someone how to handle the complaint. One of the "cooks" came out and asked what the problem was with the gravy. When it was explained that $4.50 was way over the top in price for the amount served,, he told us that he had to pay for the ingredients to make it and then up the price......you made this? we asked. Well, ya' know, serve it, he said. They ended up removing the price for the entire Basic Breakfast. Folks, really. If you think this restaurant serves a good breakfast, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. I might just add that the poor, bored-looking cook in the back might actually enjoy learning how to cook-to-order a hot, fresh breakfast and not just be a slave to the microwave. read more

Saw the review on Phantom Gourmet and had to try it because we live close by. Food was okay; server claimed she was new at this job. We ordered Eggs Benedict, corned beef hash omelet and an order of french toast. For beverages we had coffee and tea, we had to ask for more tea and more coffee. When the bill came totaling $42 for breakfast; expensive. I was shocked that they charged me $2.58 twice for two mugs of tea! I asked another server if that was normal and she stated that yes we have to charge that for the second tea bag. My FIRST and LAST time there. We left the facility and I called back and expressed my disappointment that i was charged that for tea bags. The young lady that i spoke to did call me back after she spoke to the owner about how i felt and she wanted to know if i wanted to get a credit for my tea for the next time. (NOT GOING BACK EVER!) They should've taken care of it when i asked the second server if it were normal to be charged $2.58 twice. Never again. Other places we've been to don't charge us twice or thrice for tea bags. Absolutely ridiculous. They didn't charge for the refill on the coffee. Discrimination against tea drinkers. read more
