The Crab Pot! Very busy touristy spot with nice views of the water since it's right along the pier. Large establishment with hundreds of tables, and I came when the weather was good so the outdoor seating was nice :) Loved the complimentary bread with butter. Then we got "The Westport" for $56.95 per person. I repeat.. that price you see on the menu is *per person* (so they're supposed to add portions accordingly). And we did receive a good portion of steamed seafood - Dungeness Crab, Snow Crab, Shrimp, Clams & Mussels, Andouille Sausage, Corn on the Cob, and Red Potatoes. Good spices on everything. From reading though the reviews on here, it seems that dining here is either a hit or miss. Yes, we all know this place and this are are tourist traps, and the prices reflect that, but no, the food is not bad at all, and we are willing to pay for good seafood....specifically, their steamed/boiled crab legs, shrimp, mussels, clams, etc., which is exactly what we were looking for. I think the only thing that can be considered a bit deceiving is the menu price for the seafood "feasts"....because, at a quick glance, we thought the Alaskan Feast was $67.95 for the order, but upon more careful look at the menu, no, it is $67.95 per person. Like I said, not a problem for us if the food is good. So, we went ahead and order the Alaskan Feast for 2 because we knew we wanted all three of our favorite crabs.....Alaskan king crab, Dungeness crab, and snow crab.....then also coming with it were the head-on shrimp in the shell, steamed clams, and Pacific mussels......all steamed with andouille sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes. And for full enjoyment, the entire bag of this seafood feast was poured right onto our table top for us to go at at our gastronomical leisure :) Note that the seafood feasts are normally steamed with their house spices, but we wanted just plain and simple steamed seafood without the spices....which our very nice and friendly server arranged. The seafood came steaming hot, so fresh, and so perfectly cooked. The andouille sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes gave the seafood such a wonderful mild and not salty flavor that didn't overwhelm the taste of fresh seafood. We were also given some drawn butter on the side for dipping of the seafood and.....OMG....heaven! And that corn.....so fresh, firm/crunchy, and absolutely d'lish.....kind of addictive actually. Yea, it was a bit of work hammering to crack the crab shells, but it's all part of the fun experience, and we were given bibs to wear to protect our clothing.....of course, I still got crab juices splashed all over my face. All I can say is that it was fun, it was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our seafood feast! .....service was very good too.....but as you would expect in such a touristy place, it was pretty crowded, but we managed to get a window seat (vs inside) where it was a little less crowded and busy. In fact, we enjoyed everything so much that we decided to order another pound each of shrimp and mussels....they were OH SO GOOD, but were different from those we got with the feast....the shrimp came headless, and the mussels came with a different preparation......all good though. There was some kind of seasoning on the potatoes but it seemed like there was no salt. There was probably 1-1.5 lbs of crab legs for three people, entirely too much corn, probably about four heads of corn, and way too much shrimp. This felt more like a shrimp boil than a crab boil. My wife and I both had a boil of some sort consisting of various crabs and lobster with shrimp potatoes and corn and everything was cooked so poorly. All the crab and lobster was rubbery it was so over cooked basically inedible the shrimp was mushy and the potatoes were still raw the only thing that was somewhat cooked decently was the corn but who cares about corn when you spend $180 you except food to meet a certain standard but you wont get that here. Came here for vacation, really wanted a crab boil. I got the Alaskan king crab boil and it was delicious. My husband got the fish and chips, they had to be the best fish and chips we've ever had. The only gripe I had is that they did not have proper tools for the boil. They are known for their little wood cutting board and a little hammer to get the meat out. I found it was super hard to use.
