My first dining experience here (about a month ago) was great! Service was excellent, food was good and the owner even welcomed my two friends and I. However, I was not a happy camper today, my second visit. My better half and I walked in and our hostess looked at us blankly. We were just standing there, and I had to ask if we seat ourselves. We chose a table which can sometimes be difficult when they are all unoccupied. After perusing the menu for a few minutes, we were still not ready to place our order. The server said she would give us more time and come back. Well, she never did. I had to tell them we were ready...any day now. If they had been more attentive they clearly could see we were no longer looking at the menu. I had a strong desire to get up and leave but then our free Cajun fries (Yelp check-in) were brought to our table. Food was good, but it seemed to take an extremely long time. I can understand if the place was busy, but it was far from it. Then the bill comes. We were charged for the complimentary Cajun fries. Ai yi yi! Time to flag someone down. I think the problem was due to having two different servers and no communication. My main complaint is that the service took forever and we were the only diners there at 12 noon on a Saturday. Well, three people did come in as we were finishing up. Will I go back? A HUGE probably not. read more

I come here all the time. The parking is so much better than the other locations. The staff is friendly, but I think they need more. I will explain in a bit. We almost always get the peeled shrimp. It is so flavorful and the spice level can be adjusted to suit your needs. The gumbo is also amazing. Really, I thinknthisbis the best location. So back to needing more staff. We are pretty busy and usually het the stuff to take home. There are times I have called and been told they are not taling phone orders because they are to busy. Or get put on hold and they just never come back. For the best experience, probably dine in is best. It is worth the cost though. read more

Parking is in a commercial strip mall parking should never be a problem. Location is alot bigger than there other location on western so wait time was not bad at all and we were a pretty large group. The service we received was from a young man that seemed like he was new but i must say he did suck a great job. He made our dinner very pleasant very well mannered. I have wanted to try this place for a while and I'm glad that I finally did! It was Mother's Day and since we're experiencing a Pandemic, I was a bit hesitant. We tried the snow crab bag with sausage, corn, potatoes; the shrimp (in the shell) bag with sausage, corn, potatoes and the garlic noodles with crab and sausage. We chose the medium sauce (it was very spicy but good) and an order of the garlic bread. The one pound shrimp and crab portions were very generous. The corn and potatoes were very tasty also. The sausage was good but I'm not a fan (it didn't appear to be cooked all the way through). The garlic noodles were very tasty - but don't expect a lot of crab - we measured about 2 tablespoons. We also had the garlic bread - it was buttery and the portions are generous! I would most certainly go back! My only complaint was that the staff wouldn't honor a free order of garlic bread if you check in online (as a diner). Since it's not our fault that we couldn't dine in, we thought the manager would honor the free bread - but that's ok - I'm still going back!! read more

We love crab shack... however,this location is not even a close comparison to the branch by western & redondo beach blvd. 1) DANIEL L(server) should be retrained from A-Z. He didn't provided any condiments unless asked,came once on each table to check on customers tight after a good working server came already and provided us with everything else that we need....but he have the audacity to actually just walk around and chit chat with other co workers. He didn't provide any crab leg opener/cracker... 2)when i asked for the leg opener/cracker,i was told they run out of it cuz it's all being used...i was provided a scissor which does nothing,so u have to end up exchanging them for shrimps. 3)i asked jf they can cut off the excess part of plastic bags for shrimp and mussels, i was told they didn't have any available scissors at this time. 4)they have crab leg shells all over random empty tables 5)bathroom was so filthy,informed a staff member hoping that it will be addressed, after our meal i went back to wash my hands and yeah you guessed it right--still as filthy as i used it an hour ago. Take note,this is at 8pm, not a busy night at all. Manager can use some retraining as well as he sees and know he have really good workers there but can't addresses the lazy ones... this location is very poorly managed. read more

Poor service, the policy implemented for seating sucks. They told us it would be 15 min.for a table, we returned after 10 min and Mike said he had called but we were right in front and did not hear him. We were placed on the bottom of the list. Once we were seated the service continued to be poor, and they have the nerves to want a tip for this kind of service. read more

Before the Carson location opened, this was our go to spot for seafood. The staff is friendly and they seat you as soon as a table is available. Compared to restaurants in other states that are similar, we really enjoy The Crab Shack's quality of food and service. read more

Out of all three locations and this is the one that needs most help, the shrimp were over cooked and I still came back for take out. I ordered 2 pounds of shrimp and muscles and not till I got home that the bag was no where near two pounds. We go to the location on redondo beach location at least 2-3 times a month and know the difference. I guess I should've stuck to the familiar and ordered from the other location. read more

The food here was amazing! I have the pan roast but instead of noodles I put it over rice. my husband had garlic noodles. Both far exceeded our expectations. You can tell that the food is made with love in addition to high quality ingredients. Will definitely be back! read more

Don't waste your time coming here.they say they close at 9 but came around 8:05 and it looked like all the lights were off. I get it's the end of night but the management here is unprofessional and rude if you don't want customers just close earlier. Food wasn't even all that either. Kinda cold and was lacking flavor. read more

I was calling to place a order and the line kept saying it was busy so I decided to just drive over and when I got here It was 9:40pm that's 20 mins before closing time and the guy at the register said sorry no more orders we did last call already! Well then answer the phone at least and say you don't do phone orders! Now I called and came over before they closed and I couldn't place a order! My husband and I were looking for a quick spot to eat when we came across this place. We drove from the Bay Area this morning and tried to find a seafood boil place like the ones we have tried back home. Nothing compares to the flavor and spice like the Crab Shack does. This was hands down the best seafood boil we've ever had (and we have been to a few spots). Not only was the food SO good, the service was the highlight of our experience. Our Server, Mike, had many tables to attend to and still managed to check in on us to make sure everything was going smoothly and even spark conversation. I LOVE CRAB SHACK, but I like the one on Gardena and Western. I felt rushed around closing time, but I get it...it was a Friday night...who really wants to be at work later than the closing time. I really didn't know who our waiter/waitress was. We had like 5. Props to TJ and Jasmine for their great customer service. Sorry I couldn't remember the other 2. Next time, I'll be sure to get their names. As for the 5th one...they were all over the place. Went today to try it out for the first time the food was great but our server screwed up Our order everybody in my family got to eat except my wife the server Joshua T. Never placed my wife's order so she was left there with nothing to eat the manager was nice enough to give us a discount but what really got under our skin is the server never admitted he made a mistake he blamed it on the kitchen staff that they forgot to make it complete bs and unprofessional he should of just admitted it was his fault. 2nd time dining at this location but our first time reviewing. We ordered takeout of 1 pound shrimp (crab shack style/mild) w/ corn and garlic bread. Our shrimp seemed a bit over cooked, not sure if it was because we ordered takeout or just got a bad batch. The mild seasoning definitely has a kick! So if spicy isn't your think we would suggest seeing if you can order with no spice seasoning. The garlic bread was delicious but a little on the oily side. Our last visit we had the mussels and crawfish, with gumbo and Cajun fries for starters. We have had better gumbo but the Cajun fries are super good (remember to check in!) Would like to come back to try the crab and garlic noodles. read more

A to-go order that meant to take 15-20 minutes took nearly an hour waiting inside to find out that their machines were down and the order didn't go through. While the staff was polite and apologetic, they offered only a drink as compensation for the time lost. As a technical problem one of the servers pointed out as a reocurring issue, my hope is that hopefully they are able to resolve this sooner than later to minimize inconveniences in the future for some that may not be as patient. read more
