The cummer cafe is such an amazing little restaurant. I'd love to come here on a Saturday. One entrance to the museum is free. They also have their brunch on Saturday's too. And right after visiting the museum. You can walk right next-door to the Jacksonville farmers market.

    * Price: $15 for crab cake salad, $15 BLT sandwich, $15 for blacken shrimp plate. Good portion! 4 star. * Ambiance: casual, clean. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor. Off the lobby of Cummer museum with good view of the beautiful courtyard. 4 star. * Location: inside of Cummer museum. Free parking across the street. * Meals: Everything is very fresh and tasty. 4 star. * Service: friendly and fast. 4 star One extra star for 10% off by checking in with Yelp app!!! (Any discount is appreciated in this economy!) We were visiting Cummer museum and decided to have lunch here. The menu is small and simple but very diversed. We ordered Blackened shrimp, BLT sandwich, and salad with add-on crab cake. Everything is about $15. Blackened shrimp: half a dozen of good size shrimp, blackened seasoning, mildly spicy, served over a fresh bed of spinach and corns. The shrimp was cooked well and crunchy. BLT sandwich is a large croissant served with fresh salad. Crab cake with salad: romaine lettuce, strawberry, blue cheese, and a large crab cake. I did not get to try this dish. My sister devoured her food. I only got enough time to snap a photo! It is a pleasant surprise to find this place with very good and fresh food and reasonable prices. I would never know that Jacksonville has such a beautiful museum with yummy food! If you have friends and family from out-of-town, you gotta take them here... will not be disappointed!

My favorite spot for adult grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque soup. A great cafe inside Cummer Museum. Great outdoor seating with occasional live music. Plus we love our server Nhi who is amazing!

I recommend a visit to the Cummer Cafe if you visit the museum. For the price, you get a generous portion and the service is very cordial. I enjoyed the Blue Chips $9 and Killer Whale Cream Ale $5.40. The chips were a layered with blue cheese (maybe a little too much) and topped with sweet tangy balsamic vinegar. This is in a common area, but the music is soothing. Tip check in and receive 10% off your first visit.

I've only been in this cafe for special birthday lunch twice & it's been great both times. For my friend Debbie's bday she picked the cafe & I'm glad she did. It was such a beautiful day so we picked outdoor seating. The umbrellas help keep leaves from falling on us. Sitting outdoors was so relaxing. My friend ordered the sangria & she loved it. They add cinnamon & the scent makes it taste sweeter. For our entrees we picked the Curry chicken salad with in a salad, and another in a croissant. My other friend picked the Cobb salad. Everything tasted fresh. The service was great, nice & attentive. For such a nice place it's surprisingly not expensive. After our enjoyable meal we walked around the Egyptian exhibit. If only we had more time we could have walked the garden. Why did I wait so long to visit the Cummer Cafe. I'll be back again to celebrate special occasions with my friends. Great job Cummer!

    Crab Cake Benedict

I missed the cutoff for Yelp Restaurant Week for this place on purpose because Brunch is for Sundays. That's the unwritten rule. A friend and I came here for food and a meeting of the minds and what a perfect setting for it. We opted to sit outside since the weather was beautiful and chose a table near the sculpture with water streaming down it's sides and also near the flowers. I had to get a Mimosa because again, Sunday Brunch and it was the right balance of Orange Juice and Champagne. We shared a Cheese Plate with fruit and crostini as we decided on our entrees. I chose the Crab Cake Benedict and I'm so glad I did. That cake was more crab and less filler, if there was any. I'm not sure. Some of the freshest crab you'll ever eat. My friend ordered the Shrimp & Grits and not just any grits, goat cheese grits. I tasted a little bit of hers and I was thoroughly in impressed. I didn't see any shrimp though but I could definitely taste them. We paid and had to book it as the sky started to open up. Oh yeah, the museum cafe is amazing. Go check them out!

Be a part of the dining experience; sit amongst great art, in a relaxed atmosphere, eating tasty food while enjoying great service. Tuesday tapas along with Saturday and Sunday brunch are a great way to get your Cummer fix. See some art, visit the gardens and eat delicious food while drinking a mimosa. OR, go straight to the Cummer Café and explore the arts and gardens another day. Mezze platter on the tapas menu is something I could devour at anytime. Marinated olives, hummus, sun dried tomato pesto with crostini's and flatbreads are delicious for a party of 1 or 3. Cobb salad, shrimp and grits, and the adult grilled cheese are amongst other favorites in my family. While there is a comfortable inside seating area, don't be deterred by the heat and miss out on the courtyard. They have an industrial style fan and mister. Overall, it's a great experience. The staff is top notch and the location is set in the heart of an eccentric community. Extra plus: When you check in on Yelp, you get 10% off on your bill.

    Lemon bars

Laid out somewhat oddly with the inside tables positioned along the walkway to the children's section of the museum and the outside patio is nice if it isn't over 80 degrees which is about one month out of the year. Aside from the design, the food was very good. The crab cakes were excellent but the corn seemed like an odd garnish. The lemon bars with fresh fruit was fabulous. The sandwiches were ample but the menu selections are pretty slim. A nice spot for lunch if you aren't picky.

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!

Ordered at the front counter and was greeted by a friendly young lady... good start. I went in planning to get the muffaleta off the specials board. They checked on it, but no luck... they were out of the cuts needed. I was pointed toward the Italian, but my buddy already grabbed that and I felt like being different. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Today was about trying something different, and I'm glad I did... even if it didn't knock my socks off.

The server was really friendly and recommended some great options for us. We ordered the following: 1) THE QUEEN - classic Venezuelan "chicken salad" with their home-made avocado mayo, cilantro and sliced avocados (also known as the Reina Pepiada). Fresh with a great balance of umami flavors! The cilantro green sauce was an amazing add-on with a little spicy kick! 2) PORKO LOCO - slow cooked pork marinated in red wine with queso blanco. Tender, moist, and very flavorful. Amazing! 3) CACHAPA - soft crispy pancake made with sweet corn and fried cheese in the middle. Flavor bomb of sweet and savory! 4) EMPANADA (BEEF) - tender, shredded beef with great flavor of savory. The dipping sauce was white, tangy, vinegary, creamy with a slight spiciness. Delicious! 5) SOURSOP JUICE - rare to find restaurants with this drink. Ate the actual fruits in my homeland in SE Asia. The juice was milky/creamy, sweet with an earthy taste. Great health benefits eating or drinking soursop -- antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, etc. Other notable item was the Passion Fruit Juice however, I did not try it. My bestie really liked it. This time, I had the sausage and chicken gumbo, along with (yes!) another key lime cookie. The gumbo was flavorful and comforting--definitely a great choice. What truly stood out the most, though, was the service. On my first visit, my waitress--who was also managing--along with another server, were incredibly polite and courteous. Although I can't remember their names, they were both exceptional. Today, I had the best cashier/server who even brought me a sample of the gumbo before I ordered. Our food took about 15 minutes, during this time, we saw a tray of fries sitting in the window. We were hoping it was not our order as they would be cold by the time our burgers were completed, however they called us and sure enough it was ours. We touched the fries and they were very cold. We told the employee, who knew the issue and they remade the fries. I'm glad they didn't make an issue about it, but also disappointing because the employees thought it was okay to even serve cold fries. The burgers were fantastic. The hurricane had so much flavor, I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. The onion rings were good and the fries were decent. My son loved his burger and the rest of the family enjoyed their meal.
