I was excited to try their grapenut cereal ice cream but was disappointed as it tasted old, stale, slightly like musty freezer, and fruity (?!). Maybe no one orders that flavor besides me. I have made grapenut ice cream at home and always order it when I am in New England and I like a clean, pronounced vanilla or sweet cream base with flecks of vanilla bean. Their flavors range from banana to coconut almond bar to honey graham explosion (see what I mean about deciding what flavor to get?). They also have sugar and dairy free options as well. I was tempted to try the sorbet but decided to throw caution to the wind and subject my lactose intolerant self to some soft serve (NO REGRETS!). Dairy Corner represents the nostalgic days of school vacation during the summer. My childhood best friend lived right down the road and we would make repeated visits when we hung out. Now: I actually still really like Dairy Corner. While I am a less frequent ice cream consumer, I choose this place first! They have a whole HUGE list of options, including Pine Point Party, which is my current favorite. The employees are pretty much all high school/college students and I've always had really great service. The line keeps moving, they are friendly and not standoffish, polite, and you get your ice cream treat in a timely manner. Late summer discovery, this place gets three thumbs up from my kids. I have to say, and I never eat ice cream, that their hard serve is particularly creamy and flavorful, compared even to my second-favorite, Dairy Joy in Biddeford. This is some of the best ice cream I've ever had, period. We vacation in Scarborough for a week every June, and we always end up at the Dairy Corner several times. There are dozens of different flavors of ice cream, and lots of toppings and ways to have it served. My personal favorite (I don't remember the exact name) is the strawberry shortcake, in which heaping mounds of ice cream (I go with blueberry cobbler) are served over fresh pound cake and topped with strawberries. Fantastic! Some of my friends gone in on an ice cream pizza, which is exactly what it sounds like, and laughed through the deliciously overindulgent experience. Dairy corner is my go to icecream spot! I'm literally so addicted to this place and every single flavor I've had is BOMB! my favorite so far has been the graham cracker explosion, but the sea salted caramel with chocolate covered pretzels and the Maine blueberry come really close. They give a pretty big size scoop for the small and it's conveniently located right on the side of the road! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who loves icecream! read more
