We always like to hit the ice cream hot spots when we are on vacation and we really left this stop until the last minute. We hit up The Dairy Corner on our way to the airport at around 1pm on Saturday. There was no line to speak of so after spending some time considering our astoundingly long list of flavor options we went to the window to place our order. We had the chocolate/vanilla froyo soft serve and a scoop of the Maine wild blueberry ice cream. The serving sizes were enormous! We took out ice cream around back to enjoy in their outdoor seating area. The yogurt was good but yogurt is pretty much the same wherever you get it. The blueberry ice cream was creamy and fresh and truly outstanding. Bummed we waited to try this place until we were on our way out of town, but there is always next year!

SMALL salted caramel truffle ice cream cone

This is my friends' favorite spot however I did not want ice cream so I was just along for the ride. One friend got salted caramel truffle ice cream and the others got black raspberry with white and dark chocolate chunks. I took a tiny bite of both for review purposes and both were phenomenal.

There were a lot of people waiting for deliciousness.

Fantastic ice cream! A small has a couple of scoops, so it's also great value for the money. I tried Beach Blanket S'mores, graham cracker flavored ice cream with dark chocolate chunks. Amazing! Hubs got Coastline Coffee, which contained more chocolate chunks and was also super. I'm glad we were able to visit before the end of the season.

everyone working here was so sweet and it was such a fun end of summer trip for ice cream. it felt like they had endless flavors and combinations - my friends and i were big fans. big portions, very busy, has its own parking lot. a Maine classic!

Coastline coffee and chocolate chip mint sundae

There are soo many choices to chose from! I ordered the Coastline coffee and it was super good! It was coffee ice cream with cookie dough and chocolate chip pieces and it was great! It is only for a limited time so definitely try it if they have it! My boyfriend got the mint chocolate chip sundae and he finished it all! There is not really seating but the beach is on the same street and it is easy to get there by car.

The Galaxy Ice Cream with rainbow sprinkles

Can't get any better than delicious homemade ice cream!!! I went with "a the Galaxy" it was vanilla based with Oreos, M&M's, Malted Milk Balls and Caramel and of course I topped it with rainbow sprinkles too! It was SO delicious!!!

Simply one of the best ice cream hot spots in Maine. Order at the outside counter from a wide selection of treats! They also offer a few lunch items like hot dog served with chips. Attire is up to you as long as you have the important parts covered - no shirt, no shoes ~ your still gonna be served (No inside access to building.)

Just one more lick, cmon SHARE!!!!

The Dairy Corner is always Top Notch, best around imo, I drive 40min to enjoy this ice cream as many times as I can a season. Variety, flavor(they use HOOD products so it's already off to a great start!), cost, quantity are all A++++!! We would take our little pups to enjoy ice cream here multiple times a summer before they crossed the rainbow bridge, they knew exactly where we were every time we parked. The constant line during the summer says it all, but don't be afraid to stop because it goes super fast with two windows, they're very fast! Sitting outside in the warm summer licking ice cream surrounded by people enjoying the same simple pleasures of summer is picturesque and what Maine summers are all about. PS...The owner is a sweetheart!

The best black raspberry you'll find anywhere. Tons of other flavors too, including dairy free. I just wish they were open year round!!!

Great service and prices. Sometimes it's super busy but it's definitely worth their blueberry fro-yo

What a great place! We stopped here to see what it was all about. We had ice cream, we saw cows,…read moreand we paid to go into the area where there was lots of animals. We even fed goats and deer. We pet babies, we loved seeing the different birds. There were peacocks! It was fun, relaxing, cool in the shade. The food part is big enough to eat and relax. Ice cream was delicious. I would go back! People that worked there were really nice too.

You scream. I…read morescream. We all scream... for site made ice cream on a working Maine dairy farm ! This is a special place... a farm on a hill with their own farm shop featuring glass-bottled milk, sandwiches, and most importantly... Ice Cream ! Starting mid-April or so, they open up "The Barnyard" which is a nice little petting zoo for the kids... and occasionally a "Goat Yoga" spot for adults... which is just so uniquely crazy it almost makes me wish I did yoga. Not into yoga...? I get you. Lucky for us, they also have a hardware store / lumber yard, so you could feasibly come for Mocha Chip and stay for the 4x4 milled posts, and that's not an experience you'll soon get at a national big-box lumber store. Or a Baskin Robbins, for that matter. This place is an experience. The farm is gorgeous, the staff are friendly, the animals are fun, the lumber yard is definitely there, and the product... well that's where it's at... it's excellent. There are a few working dairy farms like this one dotted around the state, and I encourage you to check out each and every one. Smiling Hill Farm is that extra special sort of place, where it's only a few miles drive outside of Portland, but it feels worlds away and it's so, so worth the effort to get to. They also have ready-to-go quarts in the freezer, their various dairy offerings, and rotating, seasonal farm shop fare. Support your local farmers! Also... I've found the local barn cats to be super friendly and just a treat to hang with. YMMV
