Love this restaurant in the summer. The atmosphere can't be beat. The BBQ is good and their Brussels sprouts can't be beat.

We make an annual trip to The Deck for dinner and enjoy the atmosphere, lake views and the food! Tristan was a great server - attentive and friendly. Our group had the Meats & 3s (one had brisket and one had walleye), the Deck Dogs and then the Mac & Cheese with pulled pork on top. The serving sizes are huge and the food comes out quickly. Definitely are getting two meals out of coming here; leftovers are always nice. A suggestion would be to serve the cornbread warm as it's disappointing when it's cold. Bummed they took corn on the cob off the sides menu! The drinks are so weak; my margarita was pretty disappointing overall. For $10 I'd rather have the booze than a take home cup. Avoid the mixed drinks if you want alcohol; they do serve non-alcoholic frozen drinks in the same cups which is fun for younger crowd. We will be back; just a few tweaks as mentioned above would make this a 5 star experience! read more

After a very unpleasant time trying to see the Grand Haven light (it was packed - no parking) we gave up and went to find food. So we drove up to Muskegon (we were going to camp at the state park) and found this place. It's right on the beach and has such a fun summer atmosphere! Fortunately we got here before the rush. Our waiter was a tall dude with a shaved head and he was so excellent! Friendly and funny and had good recommendations for food. Give that man a raise! My husband got the 50/50 sandwich and was in heaven. He especially loved the sauces that came with it - I believe there was a mustard BBQ that was the best. I got the street corn bowl and wow it was heavenly! It came with so many different sauces - it was filling and perfect for any vegetarian! I took a bunch to camp with me and ate more later on in the evening. It is spicy - but so good. All in all, I love the concept of this place and the food and the phrases on the back of the wait staff's shirts are funny. What's not to like? read more

This place is crazy busy. We had kids and arrived at Muskegon State Park after a long day of driving. When we saw how busy it was, we decided to order to-go instead of dining in and eat it on the beach so the kids could swim. The beach is right there. The food was SO good and just a great atmosphere. Love that it's on the beach. I ordered a bowl and my mom got tacos. I can't remember what the kids got, but we were beyond happy with everything! The Deck has grown tremendously and is such a fun place for lunch, dinner or just to hangout and have drinks. There is live music pretty much every night and it is a very lively place. The staff are always so kind and punctual. The food comes out so fast, even when they are slammed busy. There is so much seating, but sometimes there can still be a wait because it is such a popular place! The food is good, but I wouldn't say there is anything on the menu that is absolutely amazing that draws me back. What draws me back is the fun atmosphere right on the shore of Lake Michigan! The drinks are awesome, that is definitely another reason that draws me back! Overall a great place with so much going on. There is NOT free parking anymore. It is $7/day during the week and $10/day on the weekends, including Fridays. You can get a parking pass from the City of Muskegon for $20 that you can use all summer, which is a good deal if you plan on visiting more than once. The Deck used to validate your parking pass but that is no longer a thing unfortunately. Overall such a fun place to visit and the views of Lake Michigan are priceless! read more

This restaurant is great! The location is right on the beach and Lake Michigan. We ordered nachos with pulled pork and chicken wings. Let me tell you I have had my fair share of chicken wings across the country and these wings are hands down the best wings I've ever had. They use a dry rub so the skin is crispy and the meat is tender and not over cooked the sauce is on the side so you have to sauce yourself but I am ok with that. The nachos are also great but I was over the moon with the wings! The service I had was great and very friendly. We had a tee time so we were in some what of a rush in and out in 30min. We will be regulars and spend more time when the bands are playing. read more

Heard great things about this place so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. We went on a Saturday night so there was a wait but we walked around and got seated a little earlier than expected! The waitress was VERY nice and seemed very knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant. We ordered our drinks and then food (which was so hard to choose from cause everything looked and smelled good) after about 5 minutes of ordering, our food came out. Very quick and amazing service. The food was so good, the pulled pork was to die for and great portions! Wish I caught the waitresses name! Loved the color changing cups that we were able to keep as well. Employees lack customer service. Security and bartenders were outright mean to people in our party. Their practices are not consistent. One person in our party did not have hand stamped and was able to buy alcohol. Others were in line buying alcohol without a stamp. Very nice venue on the lake. But I would never go back. The two stars are for the perch sliders. Stay away from the shrimp cocktail. It's not a cocktail at all, and come with no kind of dipping sauce. One of my shrimp was spoiled. I do not recommend this establishment. read more

I live locally and have been to the deck 3 times just due to its location off the beach. It's definitely a place for tourists. The food is OK, nothing to write home about. The location and ambiance is nice but it's typically very crowded. Drinks were great but food was cold 2/3 times. Employees are rude and also rude on the phone when I called to ask a very simple question. Don't waste your time or money here folks. WARNING: do not attempt to buy a beach pass here. They will refuse to exchange your kiosk ticket for a season pass which is exactly the instructions listed on the city website and on the side of the kiosk. Manager/owner was rude and turned us away because they want you to buy the $20 season pass directly from them. SCAM. Never realized this was an option and was just following the instructions. They should not be advertising selling beach passes when they will not give them out. Weird and rude staff. Completely unnecessary when locals are trying to follow the instructions listed. They want to cherry pick who they give passes to? Very odd. Get your issues with the passes fixed with the city and stop confusing your customers. I won't be returning. read more
