Went here on a recommendation from a guy who was playing mini golf in front of us, and very thankful we did. The place is huge, so seating for a group of 6 was not a problem. Also we were pleasantly surprised to see a live band when we got there. The menu was pretty extensive, but we all ordered something a little different. I got the pulled chicken sandwich which was clearly the value play, as it came out piled high with chicken. I also got a side of sweet potatoes. It's also kind of nice that they separate the sauces out on the plate so that you can create your own sandwich to your liking. The food was all very good, especially the sauces and there were plenty of leftovers, which was nice considering the price was a little higher. The only thing cooler than a good bar, is a good bar right on the beach !!! Not to mention the corn hole & other games, swing chairs, & live music! I LOVE this place. Anytime I'm on the west side of MI I try to stop by. Good people, good drinks, great food! This past time I went I had the beach burrito bowl with the smoked, pulled. It was so refreshing & delicous. I must say though the pulled chicken was the best part of it all. They smoke their own meat daily right there on site & it shows!! My favorite thing I've ever eaten here though has to be the Nashville hot chicken sliders. It's a must try! read more

For whatever reason, they are a hot mess during their opening this year. Phones were completely shut off during opening day, and on day 2 their phone tree just loops when you try to speak to someone. Funny...their phone tree has an option for reservations, only for them to tell you they don't take reservations. They're supposed to have a wait-list within Yelp...that's not true either. So if you're bringing a party larger than a few folks, you'll be at the mercy of a potentially insane wait. Who doesn't at least have a wait-list in 2023? If you have all day to wait for a table, it can be a nice place to go. Food is solid, beer selection is a joke (considering they are located proximate to some of the best breweries in America), but the setting and the restaurant itself are very cool. They appear to have some serious operational challenges...just be aware before you count on being able to dine here. read more

The Deck is super fun but not super safe. Tried to have our meal at the upstairs bar. Thought others would be covid careful but they weren't. Chairs along the bar were lined up side by side. Others without masks crowded in even ordering drinks over our shoulders. Simple solution. Remove some of the chairs and space them out per Gretchen. read more

Starving at the beach and this was the only option around. Vegan? Find somewhere else. I even left a card saying their vegan options needed major improvement. ONLY non meat, non dairy food (without asking to hold the meat, hold the dairy) is the Chinese chop salad, hold the honey peanuts. The salad is huuuuge. Filled with mainly Korean cukes and mandarin oranges (not a lot of lettuce). I think I saw only lonely carrot shred tossed in there as wellm LOL, The carrot & ginger vinaigrette dressing is fantastic. Tangy and creamy. It was OK in a pinch. Great views. Ask for a picnic table, the regular tables have metal-like chairs that are way too low for the table. I felt like I was sitting on a kids chair! Very confusing layout. Thought I was at the "host stand", turned out its completely on the other side of the building. Signage very limited and confusing. So I walk around, find a host and she seats me at a table on the side I entered from. Walked past a bunch of empty tables to get seated out in the boonies. And the place wasn't even a quarter filled. Go figure. Efficient waitress, fast service. If only the food choices were more inclusive. read more

We make an annual trip to The Deck for dinner and enjoy the atmosphere, lake views and the food! Tristan was a great server - attentive and friendly. Our group had the Meats & 3s (one had brisket and one had walleye), the Deck Dogs and then the Mac & Cheese with pulled pork on top. The serving sizes are huge and the food comes out quickly. Definitely are getting two meals out of coming here; leftovers are always nice. A suggestion would be to serve the cornbread warm as it's disappointing when it's cold. Bummed they took corn on the cob off the sides menu! The drinks are so weak; my margarita was pretty disappointing overall. For $10 I'd rather have the booze than a take home cup. Avoid the mixed drinks if you want alcohol; they do serve non-alcoholic frozen drinks in the same cups which is fun for younger crowd. We will be back; just a few tweaks as mentioned above would make this a 5 star experience! read more

After a very unpleasant time trying to see the Grand Haven light (it was packed - no parking) we gave up and went to find food. So we drove up to Muskegon (we were going to camp at the state park) and found this place. It's right on the beach and has such a fun summer atmosphere! Fortunately we got here before the rush. Our waiter was a tall dude with a shaved head and he was so excellent! Friendly and funny and had good recommendations for food. Give that man a raise! My husband got the 50/50 sandwich and was in heaven. He especially loved the sauces that came with it - I believe there was a mustard BBQ that was the best. I got the street corn bowl and wow it was heavenly! It came with so many different sauces - it was filling and perfect for any vegetarian! I took a bunch to camp with me and ate more later on in the evening. It is spicy - but so good. All in all, I love the concept of this place and the food and the phrases on the back of the wait staff's shirts are funny. What's not to like? read more

This place is crazy busy. We had kids and arrived at Muskegon State Park after a long day of driving. When we saw how busy it was, we decided to order to-go instead of dining in and eat it on the beach so the kids could swim. The beach is right there. The food was SO good and just a great atmosphere. Love that it's on the beach. I ordered a bowl and my mom got tacos. I can't remember what the kids got, but we were beyond happy with everything! I can't say enough about how much we love this place. The perfect summer spot for drinks, lunch, or dinner. Our server Memphis went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time.
