This is a great old school sandwich spot. They also offer all your typical diner things like burgers, chili fries, and hot dogs. Service is quick and really friendly. The girl at the counter helped me make my choice from their big menu. They also have a table where you can serve your own chilis and a big pot of pickles! We came here this afternoon for lunch. We ordered the steak sandwich, which we shared and an order of onion rings. We came here because my BF was raving about how good the steak sandwich was. He has not been here since 2010- the food has changed, but the decor did not! When we got the sandwich, we noticed how stingy they were with the meat. He said that the sandwich was overloaded with the steak and there was more cheese. He said it's not the same sandwich that used to be. I thought it was tasty but not a whole lot of meat, which was disappointing to both of us. The onion rings were greasy and there weren't many of them. Roast beef sandwich was horrible and the garlic fries were terrible. Then when they went to give me my order, they kept asking if I ordered ranch dressing roast beef. I said that it was a plain roast beef sandwich. They kept talking to each other and one answered the phone while I'm waiting to see if I got the right order. Again they asked me if it was right. How am I supposed to know if you made it wrong or right. Again, I explained that I had ordered a plain roast beef sandwich. Well it wasn't what I ordered and I tried to eat it. It was dry and disgusting. I left 3/4 of the sandwich on the table. The garlic fries were greasy and cold and no way was it like the skinny fries in the advertised picture where you order your food. I've been driving by this place for well over a decade and never had the opportunity to try this place. Finally, last Saturday, I had the chance to come and try this place out. This place is old. And the interior definitely shows it. Looks old and dingy. Could definitely use a face lift. They have multiple sandwhichs and menu items that everyone in my group swore by. I decided to go with their Monterey spicy steak sandwich. Service is ok. Not friendly. All had a matter of fact look on their face. Or is it more of an RBF. Just didn't seem as though they didn't want to be there. They have a very unsanitary open bar area for the condiments and toppings with thongs there that anyone with clean or dirty hands can access. The sandwhichs here are massively large. Bread is well toasted. Lots of steak in the sandwich. Well cooked, thinly sliced, and tender. There wasn't much flavor or heat to it. Had to add a whole bunch of salt and pepper and peppercinis and other toppings to it to try and infuse it with flavors. This place looks like a place that time has forgotten. Went here for the first time for lunch today. We enjoyed it! My husband had a cobb salad and I had the smoked turkey and avocado sandwich - and both were very good! The sandwich even had onion rings in it, which was so fun and tasty and gave it a nice crunch. Pros: -great cobb salad great turkey avocado sandwich with onion rings in it -great serving sizes! Salad was big, and the sandwich was huge! And get it with a side of ranch (it's that good homemade ranch, not the bottle crap) to just really drench your naughty sandwich in sin. Ordered on a whim from DoorDash, so I can't speak to the ambiance, but honestly - tuna is fresh, sourdough is thick and actually sour, no hint of back-of-the-fridge funkiness. Tuna is dotted with crunchy bits like green onion and celery, and does NOT contain hard boiled eggs (thank god). Back when your favorite Yelp Elite correspondent was a bachelor, I spent three glorious years renting a townhome in scenic Rancho Cucamonga. On the relatively rare SAT night when I didn't have plans, I'd hustle over to The Deli on the corner of Archibald and Foothill, order myself their number eight (Roast Beef), rent a tandem of VHS films and enjoy my massive sando perched in front of a crackling fireplace. Pleased to report that, some twenty-seven years later, The Deli still stands tall, it's wood-paneled interior teeming with hungry customers awaiting well-made sandwiches. We stopped here after church on SUN and ordered a trio of old stand-by sandos- One number eight (the roast beef, substituting mayo for the horseradish) and a pair of Club sandwiches. My bride didn't wanna wait 'til we got home to try her sandwich, so ... yep, she got her way. She appreciated the balance of the lean white turkey meat mixed with the ham, bacon and slivers of smashed avocado, all piled fairly high on their trademark French baguettes dotted with sesame seeds. My roast beef also came slathered with the avocado and it's a splendid accompaniment, both texturally and taste-wise to the satisfying unctuousness of the thinly sliced roast beef. The Deli's use of their French rolls potmarked with sesame is a game changer. The bread flawlessly absorbs the condiments and still provides a deeply gratifying crunch. Nailed it! Now there's not much I can do about the fact that the prices have nearly doubled in the twenty-seven years since I last frequented The Deli. I used to get off with two bulky footlong style sandwiches for fourteen bucks. Today's order set me back $42 (including a $3 drink, tax and, yes, a tip) but I have never minded paying for quality. Pleased to report that The Deli is still THE local authority on simple but well-constructed sandwiches. read more

The burgers and fries are great can't go wrong there. The staff is always friendly and quick. Can never go wrong with a burger here. They are also decently priced. The meatball sub is also tasty. Place is situated in the heart of Rancho Cucamonga on corner of Foothill and Archibald. A bit pricey but the quality is there. I had the pastrami Reuben and it had excellent flavor. I feel a bit more meat was needed but it was still an excellent sandwich. They have these after 4 pm specials. Self serve station to get condiments including dill pickle chips and yellow peppers. The service is a bit slow but it's because they take their time to make a solid sandwich. Just look at the photos. The cold sandwiches are big enough to share. They have seating inside/outside seating. The sole restroom was clean and did not smell. It's next door to a liquor shop so there is that. Would definitely come back again. read more

This sandwich spot used to be a little better, but I am giving it only 3 stars now after returning several more times. The food was adequate quality for the price; I always enjoy my sandwiches as much as I can expect to for what I pay. That said, my primary issue with this business is the incredibly long wait times when calling in an order (I was on hold for 16 minutes the last time and 14 minutes the time before, even though I was literally parked outside of the ordering window and saw there were no other customers they were waiting on at that time) and the fact that they Never, and I really mean never, get my order entirely correct. I always order all sandwiches sans tomato and add pickles. Every time. And every time, without fail, they put tomatoes on and forget the pickles entirely. Each and every time I have ordered. My receipt reflects the changes I have made to my order but the sandwiches themselves never do. I will try this place one more time and update accordingly if they happen to get my order right. read more
