Yeah I miss Whiskey Creek. I guess I'm old now. This place was great. Tons of tvs for watching sports. Outside dining and games. Very tasty food choices. Fast service. Great beer. A little pricey, but after the meal, you get the feeling it was worth it. Lots of fun choices on the menu. Get there early as they sell out on some dishes. I've been going to Mammoth since the 60's! Highly recommend that you eat upstairs and enjoy the view. The atmosphere is upbeat and lively. My visit here was primarily for a meal, and to attend their trivia night. About 30 minutes prior to arrival, they posted the nights trivia invitation to Facebook. The service was kind when ordering, and the menu looked promising. My wife ordered a bahn mi sandwich (new to the menu, the day we visited) and house made hop tater tots. I had a hanger steak with waffle fries. Her sandwich was good, but nothing near as spectacular as described. For $15 much more could be expected. The "hop" tater tots ($7) where more like croquettes than tots. She didn't like them enough to eat more than two... and at more than a dollar each, they where a disappointment. My hanger steak was ordered medium-rare, but served blue (very rare) with only a marginal sear. For $27 this entrée should be more than 4oz of beef, and it shouldn't be though as shoe leather, nor improperly cooked. The "smoked chimichuri" sauce was unpalatable, and went entirely uneaten. The waffle cut fries where served in a 10oz portion (I'd estimate)... a huge pile. The fries where overcooked, and dry internally. It was sad. Lastly, we left at about 7:20pm... trivia was advertised to begin at 7pm. There was NO SIGN of any impending trivia... even when directed to the upper floor for the event. I received a receipt via email (nearly $70) that allowed me to bring my comments to the attention of management. I took that opportunity, and received no response in 72 hours. You're reading the result... I'd skip it... they're not concerned with repeat business, I'd presume. Based on their (lack of) response to me. Nothing here was worth the bomb crater in my wallet. Solid luxury pub food. A funny little system -- pay at the counter, take a number, they hunt you down and deliver, inside in the winter, in an outdoor pen summertime. The servers were prompt and friendly. The view is stunning, epic. Well, everyplace in Mammoth Lakes has a view, but being outside with 360 degrees of mountains is something. Beer is in a different line, so the brewery thing looks more like co-location. But it's among the better breweries in California, a few of their beers are classics. Between that and the deck and the nostalgia rock music, it takes you back. The Irish Caesar Salad was so good we came back three times and that's all we had! Perfect dressing, well made croutons, a mix-up of different hearty greens instead of romaine, and bacon so smokey and chewy it was almost like jerky. The half size is almost a meal and the full size can easily feed two. Here's a tip. Pay an extra $9 and they'll add a heaping of delicious skirt steak, that turns it into a complete meal for two. read more

Another FLAT TIRE review. This place is alright. Here is how to make it better. I ordered the Not A Philly sandwich which is a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich made with Thick cut Carne Asada flank steak. The sandwich I received was literally a Hot Mess, see pictures. The meat was good and so were the mushroom, peppers and onion mix. My sandwich was soaked to the bone with Fondue sauce. All I could taste was soggy bread and cheese sauce. This would be a great sandwich if you ordered it with toasted bread and fondue cheese sauce on the side, a little goes a long way. My son ordered the burger and said it was good, 4 star. The salads looked real good but are way over priced. The beer is great and the selection good. All in all, give it a try, but order your Not a Philly sandwich like I mentioned. Oh ya, it came with some tasty pickles on the side, real good, but if you want fries they are another $8 which is stupid. Oh ya, service? No. This place is confusion. Order your food at a desk, then go to the bar and order your drinks. Place your Number sign on your table. Your food is brought to you, it's self serve basically, kinda weird. Would it kill them to print a menu and serve you like a normal restaurant? 2 people are in for $50-60, add another $20 if you want 25 cents of fries or salad. Really?? Greedy. If you sit outside make sure to watch your step because they place bowls of water at the ends of the tables so that people that bring their dogs won't get thirsty. Personally, I don't want to eat with someone else's dog. This could be a good restaurant but who ever thought of this place knows nothing about business. I spent nearly an hour waiting in line to simply order food. (I'm annoyed that I didn't just leave). The line was unbelievably slow. The menu is odd; most foods I'd never heard of. One person was taking orders. The people in line said this was normal. Ate outside, which turned cold--my fault for not being better prepared for evening weather. The food was ok. That's it. I spent about $45 on the "best damn hamburger" and the bbq chicken flatbread pizza. Neither item was exceptional or hardly worth the wait. IF, the managers cared about their customers they'd fix this ordering problem. Don't let the customers, sitting outside, from Mammoth Brewing Company give you the impression that it's a must go. The EATery, located inside the Mammoth Brewing Company, leaves a lot to be desired. Layout is poor, with a "laidback" find a comunion style table and share with random strangers feel, which, in theory would have worked out great, as it could produce new friends, gret stories, and a very "americana" vibe. HOWEVER. in practice, this produces none of the above. Why? WELL! Seating is first come first serve, but that's JUST to find seating, if you want to order food, well you'll have to head BACK downstairs, potentially putting your table at risk to be stolen by other vulture- I mean, diners, looking for a seat for their party as well. So after you find a table, that's big enough for your party, which in of itself is a perilous adventure, as you want to leave 1-3 people guarding your table, the rest head downstairs to order from the hipster-oriented menu fare. 1/2 pound grass fed organic bison burger will run you $15, and add on another $12 if you want a small dab of foie gras with that. That's $27 for a burger. hahahahah! You could opt for the philly cheesesteak, which is passable at $12 and gives you skirt steak in a french roll. That's a little better bang for your buck. OR! you could order the "Pasta, Please" ha-ha-ha! get it? get it? for $18 which is their braised-beef with arugala, mushroom and parppadelle pasta in a jalepeno-cream sauce with 2 thin sticks of garlic bread. All of which is A-OK. The burger was a burger, the cheeseteak was a cheeseteak, and the pasta was spicy and full of carbs (probably best bang for your buck in terms of carbo-loading). But honestly, the layout design is so poor I almost don't want to come back for the food. There's a line to order food, then you take your number upstairs where 1-2 friends are furiously defending your table from other tired, cranky snowboarders and skiers. Or you might face the entitled family members, with whiny, crying 2 year olds in tow, who think ABSOLUTELY CRAZY that wifi isn't included. (HAHAHAHA ENTITLED MUCH?) Those same family members and moms who passively glare at your group, for taking up "their" space on the cummunity table, whispering to each other wondering why your group can't "watch their language, can't they see we have kids?" YES WE SEE YOU HAVE KIDS. CAN YOU SEE THAT YOU'RE AT A BREWERY WITH ALCOHOL CATERED FOR ADULTS AND THAT YOU DON'T OWN THE TABLE YOU'RE SITTING AT. read more

The beer is pretty great, no question. When I saw that there was an eatery in the brewery I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is very relaxed, so don't try to make reservations or count on your party of ten all sitting together. If you want to re-up on your calories after a day on the mountain it's a great place to kick back with a few friends or make some new ones, though. I had the oxtail dish (a first for me) and my partner had the cheese steak sandwich. My dinner was phenomenal, and my partner also enjoyed his but definitely had food envy. The oxtail was accompanied by a subtle meat sauce, their fancy version of tater tots, cheese curds and a friggin fried egg to top it all off. It was the best meal I've had at Mammoth, hands down. The staff is great, the service is quick, the beer is close. I give it 5 stars, but if you're vegetarian there are not many options, be warned. It's also a little pricey, but everything in Mammoth is overpriced and this food is better. read more

What an awesome place to grab a few beers and some dinner. Food portions are a bit small and look more like something that should come with a 3 or 4 course meal. But none the less, the food is pretty good with a great twist. Only reason why I did not give a 5 star is because my buddy and I ordered the same thing, pasta, and he got a plate full of pasta with lots of meat chunks while I got a substantially smaller portion with no meat and burnt bread sticks. Fantastic experience here! The food was good and the booze was great. We ordered the flight of beers and they were a fun way to sample a larger variety of options. It was nice to have a little bit of everything. The food was so good. We devoured everything. The burgers were so good. This restaurant does not specialize in first impressions. First, you arrive in the parking lot where everything has a chain around it and you start with a rousing game of "find the actual entrance ". After that, you walk inside and play "who knows what to do or where to go" and don't expect any help from staff walking around. They will walk right past you. You can possibly find answers online but only if you have cell service because they won't let you access their wifi. That would be cheating, right? You need to work for your meal. After you complete your scavenger hunt, you order (after waiting in a slow moving line). The cash register people are kind and helpful. I ordered the "Damn Good Burger". It was "An Okay Burger". The meat was cooked more than I like, the Gouda didn't have a noticeable presence and the flavor was mostly whatever. One might say bland. It was also dry. It would have been okay if it wasn't $17 a la cart. But it was. So I just slathered some sauces on it and called it a day. The moral of the story is that the cashiers are cool. read more

Nicely surprised our first day (back) in mammoth. Seems our last few trips here were full of mediocre and overpriced food. Never tried this place (not sure they even served food last time I was here) but I'm glad we did. This is a great gastropub that can hang with any of the hyped spots I've tried in LA. There's this fondue cheese/beer sauce that was all over my Philly cheesesteak and our loaded tots. This sauce is like liquid crack. I want to brush my teeth with it. Between me and the fam we had the philly, the banh mi sandwich, a grilled cheese, and loaded tots. All were excellent and well thought out. Homemade lemonade is a plus too. Kudos, Eatery. read more

The menu changes daily and since they're located inside the Mammoth Brewery (PS: their mascot is terrifying), the drinks are right there, if you'd like them. You order beer and wine separately at the nearby counter. The service was very courteous and knowledgeable. And they have a large outside seating area with views of the slopes. Food was really good. After a long day on the slopes, I just wanted a classic American burger, medium rare. It came out with just a bit of pink in the middle, which is perfect. All their other food looked really good too. There was a 45 min wait to place order, but I guess that's to be expected on a Saturday night. It was okay because some of our group could hold down a table and the rest of us could drink while waiting in line. I love this twist on pub food place that's nestled right into the Mammoth Brewery. They have a lot of different options that sounded delicious. The food is on the expensive side but it is worth it. I had the Pimento grilled cheese which was fantastic. Josh had the pork pizza which he said was amazing. The food is ordered and paid for and then you go search for a seat and they bring the food to you. It is brought to you on wood slabs which add to the rustic feel and the plates are cleared quickly. Nice spot after a day of skiing. It is located in Mammoth Mtn. Brewing. You order on first floor and the food is brought wherever you choose to sit. The fries were great, huge portions. This would be a great place to watch a game, lots of TVs on the 2nd floor. Agree with some of the other reviewers that the service was a little bit off, but the people were friendly and mammoth is a laid back town. read more

Great new addition to town. This place is inside the new lager mammoth brewing co. When you walk in the Eatery is on your left, you order at the counter and find a table and they will bring out your food. It has a great casual environment so you don't have to dress up after a long day on the mountain to enjoy great food. Everything is homemade and locally sourced, they even make their own bread and sausages. The Irish Caesar salad is amazing, perfectly dressed and topped with shaved raw Brussel sprouts, bacon, and Parmesan. The potatoes and cheese are to die for with reclette cheese. The chicharrones are amazing and come out of the kitchen still sizzling and popping. This place is a must if your in mammoth. read more

Food was just not good. We had the Chopped salad, kids meal (hot dog) and the beef over tater tots (forgot the name). Salad tasted like they just put pure vinegar on it. It was so over powering and gross. The tater tots with beef was super bland and one note. Flavorless. The kids meal was probably the best but the chips tasted like fish. So gross. We were here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. We ordered at the counter and the gentleman was very friendly. We took a seat at the window while we waited for our order. The tots came out first, they were very enjoyable with a mix of potato and onion but I felt they were highly overpriced for the amount you received. I didn't count specifically but I'd guess there were eight tots for $7. We'd ordered a burger ($15) and philly cheesecake ($16) and neither came with a side so we ordered the tots thinking it would suffice for the two of us. The hostess was amazing in getting us seated, the bartender was very informative on the many craft beers served and helpful on providing local information. The ordering was done online which didn't really care for, but seems to be happening more and more. I ordered the crispy chicken & cakes and my adult son ordered the "damn good burger". I was a little disappointed in the chicken thinking it would be a chicken breast, probably my haste in not paying attention in ordering and too many craft beers. I'm giving this place one star as the chicken on the pizza was the only good thing I ate here. Waffle fries tasted like oil, the caesar salad was nothing to write home about, and both the bbq pizza and pork belly sandwich were almost too sweet to even eat. Both main dishes need more acid to balance out the sweetness. Also, my husband wasn't impressed with any of the seven sampler beers he tasted. I would not recommend this place at all. read more
