The beer is great, the service sucks, and well finding a table or somewhere to sit is nigh impossible... The atmosphere: So chill, fun and opening. I always feel awkward eating out alone and this place didn't make me feel weird at all. The staff was really friendly and the food recommendations genuinely valuable. You order food at the little counter with the square registers, and drinks at the bar. The food and drink: Man oh man. There are limited menu items but every single one of them is sooo interesting. I got the bahn mi pork belly sandwich on recommendation and this was soooo flavorful. I get worried with bahn mi sandwiches as they don't always hit the same spot as a regular 'meat and cheese' sammie but this was not a disappointment. The pork belly was crispy and salty and the veggies pickled to perfection. The bread was also very soft and fresh. The bartender helped me to pick a light/fruitier beer based off my current hefewiezen obsession- the summer triple was amazing Next time I will definitely order the pulled pork poutine and the house made tater tots! Excellent service and food quality - wish I had the stomach to try everything but their oxtail hash and burger were beyond exceptional. They make their own hash which was delicious, and the oxtail was cooked to perfection. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and all in all an excellent must visit spot in mammoth, whether after a long day of boarding or just looking for a friendly place to share foods and brews with your loved ones. read more

We hosted a dinner for our bike group this past weekend and the EATery did not disappoint. Not only is the ambiance awesome but the food was superb! We had around 30 people and every single person RAVED about how delicious their food was. Hands down the Damn Good Burger is one of the best burgers around. My father in law who is a burger connoisseur (haha) said it's in his top 3 burgers ever! The goat cheese pizza was also a big hit. Service was stellar even on a very busy Friday night. They even had a wedding going on and service was top notch. When you're in the mammoth area, make sure to check out this restaurant. Mammoth Brewing is onsite so it's a win-win. read more

Every time I come to mammoth I make sure to stop by and grab food and beers at the Eatery, it said on their website that they weren't opened until 6th of August so I was bummed but on Monday they were open! We had just done a 16 mile hike and everything we ordered tasted so good. We grabbed take-out, the patio was completely full. We ordered 3 of the damn good burgers, just fries and pork grinds. The burgers were excellent, the fries and pork grinds portions were huge. I wrote this review because I was just so pleased at how everything was packaged. Every sauce I could want was already in there, pickles were on the side and I just appreciated these details. A lot of restaurants don't pay attention to the details on take out orders and forget sauces that you paid for or asked for extra of but they didn't. I appreciated that. read more

Love this brewery but I wish the food and the brewery were one entity. It makes things a little more difficult on the customer having them separate The brewery: is great and it has a wide variety of beers that you can get a flight of to sample, a glass, or a growler. There is usually not a wait at the bar and I have never come across a beer here I don't like but my personal favorite is the Epic IPA. The Food: is run separately by "The Eatery". They are best known for their fries!!! All kinds of different options on fries but the waffle fries are the best especially the poutine ones with pulled pork. The pulled pork was very tasty. I also tried the "not a Philly cheesesteak" and it was not as good as the meat by itself because of the sauce, wasn't a big fan. Overall: great place to go. My favorite thing about the place as a whole is the environment and the staff does a great job creating a great atmosphere. Very friendly and super helpful! Came here because every night we would pass by this place it was always so packed. We waited 45 minutes to get a seat inside because it was kind of cold at night. My boyfriend and I both got the fish and chips and an order of onion rings to split. The fish in chips were huge and I wish we would have split one instead of getting one each. We ordered a cider and a kombucha (I think it was the mint and grapefruit one). The wait really was super long so that was the only downside. Our first night in Mammoth Lakes and we were looking for good casual dining after a long day of driving and some hiking. The Eatery/Mammoth Brewing was a short walk down the road, and the menu and photos seemed to fit the bill. I'll keep this short - the food was terrible, one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a very long time. Between the 4 of us we had the "not philly cheese steak", a poke bowl, a pub salad, and the Irish Caesar salad with skirt steak. The food was bland and tasteless, the skirt steak (Philly cheese steak and Caesar salad) was tough and over cooked, the dressing on the salad was nondescript... I could go on, but the food does not warrant my effort. The beer (Epic IPA) was decent. Needless to say, we won't be back. Hopefully we'll find better options for the rest of our stay in Mammoth! read more

I remember years ago when the Eatery was first Mammoth Brewing. Those were simpler times. Sadly, this will be our family's last visit. Paying this price for this level of service just isn't reasonable. We were excited when Mammoth Brewing grew up into The Eatery. The service system was quaint, but, no big deal, they were still growing up. There weren't gobs of people. However, today was similar to our last three visits. The Eatery's service just hasn't grown along with its reputation. The people that take the brunt of the poor system must be the servers. I get that servers get frustrated from time to time, but the last three years the servers have always had the same demeanor ... "get it done." They weren't rude or mean; they just wanted to get things done. I showed up early this time, hoping things would be different. Nope. Years later, The Eatery still hasn't grown up. They are still operating off of one register for the food and a separate registers for the beer. Did you catch that part? One register for food. One. Imagine visiting McDonalds and seeing one register. You'd be in disbelief. Dismayed. Crest Fallen. Then again, that would be McDonalds ... operation driven McDonalds. The Eatery is NOT McDonalds. It's fancy ... just like you would hope. One register means that you have one attendant answering questions like, "What is confit?" "What do you like?" Obviously, for the price people are paying, these are reasonable questions. Considering that people have been waiting 20 minutes to order, these become imperative questions. What is NOT reasonable? When you ask for ice tea the register attendant has to go get the tea. Now you have 47 people who may have been waiting in line 20 minutes watching the sole attendant disappear into the kitchen. THE KITCHEN!! Holy service dilemma Batman. The ice tea and lemonade isn't within reaching distance? Nope. There isn't someone there to assist the sole register attendant? Nope. Better yet, this leads to a service attendant trying to tap buttons at a furious pace. This leads to ... missing food. This wouldn't be a problem if you didn't have to wait in line another 40 minutes to ask for the food that wasn't registered. Now ... imagine you've waited in line. You've ordered your food. You're ready to have a beer. OH WAIT ... YOU HAVEN'T EVEN ORDERED YOUR BEER! You wait another 5 minutes to order your beer, because the bar hasn't numerous registers and tenders. The food is good. The beer is good. Two stars. Their service model is a gaping maw of disappointment. The servers can't benefit from great service. The people have to wait forever for food. Orders go missing. If you are ok with paying a high price for a poor service model, well ... you're richer and more patient than I. read more

We got here around 8:25 on a Thursday, 5 minutes before the kitchen closed. We ordered downstairs and sat upstairs. The upstairs was a more lively / loud ambience with clubby music piped from ceiling speakers while the downstairs was more quiet. We ordered the 'not so philly',the poutine and the Mac and cheese, and the pulled pork sandwich. I'd recommend all 4 of them, though I'd say the poutine and the Mac and cheese were the big standouts. All 4 were generous portions, however the poutine was the largest and could easily feed 2. The Mac was the smallest of the portions though more than plenty for one. My daughter really liked the M&C. She fought off any poachers at the table with her spoon. It has a nice blend of veggies (peas) with generous amounts of cheese and a bit of meat. It also stands out from normal Mac and cheese in that it has an enticing smokey flavor. The poutine is massive set of waffle fries with a cheese curd gravy on top. The gravy is actually completely hidden under a large mound of pulled pork. Did I say there's lots of meat in this dish.! The same can be said about the pulled pork sandwich. It has a heaping mound of pulled pork and a dajonaise type sauce on top. This is a pure meat sandwich (aka no veggies in the sandwich). The meat is actually served dry and there is bbq sauce at the counter you can add if you want a more saucy sandwich. My wife could only eat half of the portion. It also comes with slaw on the side. I had the philly. Unlike a normal philly, it has a fondue cheese sauce. Juxtaposed to the pulled pork sandwich, the philly is very sauced and full of veggies. My wife fought me for the cheesy mushrooms, onions and peppers on this sandwich. My wife and I ordered beers upstairs. The board behind the bar lists what's on tap. My wife was unsure what to get. The bartender helped her choose with a sample and he chatted with me over IPA selections. He knows his beer and could give detailed descriptions over flavor, hoppyness, sweetness, etc. We left the restaurant stuffed and with leftovers for breakfast. If you want to have some beer with great food this is the place to go. I got the crispy chicken with griddle cakes it was unbelievable. The raspberry shallot marmalade makes the dish, but the combination of the corn cakes and the crispy confit chicken, all three together, all I can say is try it for yourself and you will not be sorry!!! We spent 9 days in mammoth on vacation and this was by far our favorite place to eat. The waffle fries and aioli are delicious! The burger got two thumbs up from all four of us. My son rated the burger as #1 best out of 6 on our trip, by far the favorite. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich is really good and so is the not-a-philly-cheesesteak. My daughter didn't care for the lemonade, she said it was too tart. My son had the same complaint with his Arnold Palmer. We loved sitting outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. I recommend you get there early before the dinner rush if you have your heart set on a specific meal since they run out of entrees as the night moves on. Take your average bar food, raise the "bar" and you might land right below the quality of food the Eatery delivers. Flatbreads, sandwhiches, salads and fries. Sure, sounds like your average bar food, but it's anything but average. Things I loved: Kale Ceaser (w/o bacon) - The dressing and parmesan were perfectly applied to the overflowing bowl of baby kale topped with nice crispy house made croutons. This "side salad" was an excellent addition to my meal, and if I hadn't been drankin' I could have eaten this alone and not felt too hungry afterwards. Since beers were involved, more food was necessary so we chose the "buffalo fries." This was a magical and game changing combination. As a non-meat eater I often get a whiff of that beloved buffalo sauce, but don't get to chow down on the spicy meaty apps it normally tops. Here at the EATery, they nix the chix and take a plateful of perfectly fried crisscut french fries, top them with thinly sliced carrots and celery, chunks of blue cheese and then drizzle the perfect amount of buffalo sauce over the top of the whole damn thing. Ohh WEEEEE. It is a great plate for sharing, although I did at least once think of tossing my salad on the floor so I could finish this on my own. I ate this two days in a row it was that good! Oh, and many of the other options were more meat based so these were the easiest for this veggie lover. My partner, being a meat eater, had a larger selection and got a different sandwich on each day we visited here on our last trip. From my close inspection, the sandwich portions were great, and we *could* have done without the fries but this is 'merica and I can overstuff myself if I want to! His bahn-mi was overfilled with fresh jalapenos, meat and other veggies. I was tempted to try a bite, but he swallowed it before I could. The other sandwich he tried - if I recall correctly - was the Philly. Either way, it looked great and had some roasted shishito peppers which is one of my favorite foods that I'd never thought to put on a sandwich. Double game changer! As a bonus, the pickles they provide with the sandwiches are also great. Bread and butter vs your standard dill for a little excitement. I'm a sucker for a good pickle. So moral of the story - put shishitos and buffalo sauce on anything you please, and be sure to plan time to drink beers, catch a view and try some of the killer grub at the EATery on your next Mammoth trip! read more

As with all things Mammoth: over-priced, underwhelming. To make it worse, it's in the utterly rubbish and chaotic Mammoth Brewing Co. so the overall experience is a waste of time. Also, no side plates with the food so you have to eat out of the serving plates which are awkward - try eating out of a zig zag taco holder The food itself is average, nothing extraordinary or flavourful and not worth the price at all. It is not clear where/how to order food and also that you have to order beer at a separate station. I ordered some waffle fries with my burger and they came out cold, which when ordering I asked if I'd need them well done since waffle fries often come out a little undercooked based on thickness(a la Chick-fil-A). I was assured they'd come out fine. So...they came out cold/undercooked in the center, and when asking the runner if he could send them back for a little more time, he came back from the kitchen stating, they won't do that. It wasn't due to covid, it was just because they would need to make an entire basket at that temp in order to accommodate me. Well, as far as I'm concerned, the temp of cooked through is correct. No one wants cold, non-crispy fries. Seems like whomever is managing the kitchen could use a lesson in customer service and as well as a refresh on deep friers. This review is based on the level of customer service we've received over the phone on 1/22/17 during lunch time. We called and started to place our order, but there had been some seasonal changes on the menu. We were advised to call back. We made some quick adjustments to our order and called 5-10 minutes later. A lady picked-up and said we couldn't place a phone order for pick-up. We told her a gentlemen we had talked to previously on the phone 5-10 minutues ago, said we were able to place an order. She placed us on a brief hold, and said they couldn't place a phone order, because they didn't want to prepare the food and not risk having us not "show up." We said, "okay we're on our way." We arrived 10-15 minutes later to place an order and their store was CLOSED! I'm just outraged by the level of customer service. If they would've let us know the FIRST TIME they were about to close, we wouldn't have even bothered showing up. The lady on the phone should've advised us that their kitchen is about to close over the phone, instead of us wasting our time driving to the restaurant. We have a family condo here, and will definitely not be coming back in the future, nor will we recommend this restaurant to our family and friends who often visit. read more

The owner of our Lodge recommended the local brewery and it didn't not disappoint. We stayed in mammoth 3 days and ate at the EATery twice. The lotta Mac and cheese was so delicious, so delicious that I wanted it twice. The goat cheese pizza didn't disappoint either. The Damn good burger was delicious too. I would ask for a medium well done burger next time. The burger was a little to pink for my enjoyment, but it was still delicious. I hate beer.... hate, hate, hate, but tried their seasonal sampler and I actually enjoyed them all except one. I wasn't a huge fan of the plum sour. The price is so reasonable too. We will definitely be making this a regular stop when we are in mammoth. read more

She ordered another side that I don't see on the menu now. I think it was supposed to be cole slaw or similar. But whatever it was it certainly didn't taste like slaw. It was somewhat refreshing with a mild taste. OK, overall, but nothing great. The hamburger was delicious. One of the best I've had recently. The potato tots were a disappointment, thoroughly mediocre. Service: A man at our long table outside with whom we struck up a conversation said it was better to order inside rather than to wait for a server to come by. So that's what we did. Stopped by here with some friends while in mammoth. Originally thought it was just a brewery but they have a food section downstairs with a pretty good menu. Ordered fries and the special house tots which are enlarged tots which were a bit doughy. Spicy ketchup served with us pretty good not bad with fries either. We also ordered a pitcher of the double nut beer which was good as well as some wine for the ladies. Gave two stars because the bartender was great and so was the beer however the wine is on tap only so if your a wine enthusiast you won't be too thrilled. Also another dock on the stars is because the service for the food wasn't the best and could be vastly improved. Asked for a side of extra sauce but was told to go back in line to pay for it which was quite long and by that time our food was cold. Overall great place for the bar with skiers and snowboarders to go to with all the lodges around. read more

Stopped in for an early dinner tonight. My husband had the BBQ chicken flat bread and it was great. Red onions and sliced red pepper gave it flavor and fire. I ordered a ceasar salad with bacon and kale. It was enormous and a little rich from the dressing and thick bacon chunks.
