The Egg Bistro handled a bridal shower catering event for me in July, 2022. I should mention that I live in Arizona and am unfamiliar with catering businesses in Virginia. I was fortunate enough to find the Egg Bistro catering division for my daughter's wedding shower that took place at our rental beach house. Alisha and Stephanie were awesome and, believe me, I was so worried about the event. They completely came through for me and my daughter. The food was excellent, the delivery of the food was on time (it was still hot) and the price was very reasonable. My husband has been to The Egg Bistro 3 times for breakfast, and we also went there for our lunch date last week. He raves about the breakfast - super Bloody Marys with a huge stalk of celery, and he loves the Corned Beef side. Grits and eggs are cooked perfectly every time, never over- or under-done. The lunch was fabulous! He had the Red Reuben (a departure for him), and I had the Gaucho. Both of us raved about them, and I brought half of mine home; portions are very generous. My only suggestion would be a few more wine offerings, and keep the ones that are on the menu in supply (they were out of one I was interested in). Also, they were out of the catfish sandwich. This was not on a weekend, either. Service was excellent, with a friendly and efficient waitress (who was not at all knowledgeable about the drinks, but I do not hold that against her). However, neither of these factors could deter me from giving The Egg Bistro a resounding rating of 5! read more

Tuh ! Everything was AMAZING omg. It was so good I didn't even get to take a picture. Ugh but I got the Bennie & The Grits and that food was fiiiirrree. Do you hear me ?! I visited this location just yesterday and had a SPECTACULAR experience. The food was great (i wish i would have ordered my hashbrowns cubed instead of shredded; i tried my friends and they were to die for), the atmosphere was cool but THE absolutely BEST part was our server, Kim. I was so excited to finally try it. We need a good breakfast/brunch place this close. We went on a Friday at 1 and were seated right away even though it was packed. My husband and I had bloody Mary's. They were awesome. I ordered the Perry Benedict but with fried chicken not grilled (don't judge me....it's my cheat day). It was really good. Only complaint is my poached eggs were hard cooked. No runny yolk. And there was not enough hollandaise sauce. So it seemed kind of dry. But order extra sauce if needed and it was really good. My husband got the chicken and biscuit meal and he really liked it. We ordered 2 cronuts on the side. The waitress told us it's not on the menu but you can order just a cronut on the side without the whole meal. They were really good. I think they taste better cooled down a bit then when piping hot. We had read in Virginia Pilot about a new sandwich at Egg Bistro @ General Booth Blvd, Virginia Beach, and decided to give the establishment a try. This was the week of Hurricane Florence. We arrived at Egg Bistro at approximately 10am, and already the restaurant was very busy, and we were placed on a waiting list. Never mind the waiting list. We were finally seated after about 10 minutes. We decided on a brunch menu, my wife had a beef sandwich with au jus dipping sauce and onion rings. I tried the new turkey sandwich with what I was told would be house made chips. The order did not take any longer than anticipated despite how very busy they were. When I received my turkey sandwich, it was mostly shaved turkey, very little taste of the green apple slices or cranberry sauce. The supposedly house made chips were nothing more than chips from a bag, and they were mostly stale. I had one half of sandwich, and declined the rest. The waitress was disappointed that the meal was not to our liking and did speak with the manager on duty. I was presuming they would take a percentage of the full amount off, however, this was not the case, I was charged full price. My wife did enjoy her sandwich, and her onion rings were perfectly prepared. We have decided not to frequent this establishment in the future, however, we must admit, the wait staff (waitresses) were excellent. read more

Very good experience here. They're are maintaining the social distancing. You put your name on the list, go wait in your car, and they text you. Pretty easy and convenient. The menus are all online via scanning a QR code on your table. That's nice so you aren't touching the sticky menus covered in the remnants of all the delicious meals they serve here. EVERYTHING on the menu sounded awesome. EVERYTHING I saw brought out looked awesome. I had the strawberry pancakes. Came with eggs, bacon and potatoes for $12. It was great. Exactly what I wanted, the portion size was plenty and I'm a big guy who loves to eat my morning carbs and I thought the price was right too. My wife had the grit cakes with shrimp. They were amazing too. Seriously they were delicious! Made me a little jealous. The service was quick and attentive without hovering. Granted they couldn't have hovered because the place was packed on a Sat morning at 11, but they managed it very well. We really enjoyed it overall. While I like the idea of the QR code for menus due to these COVID times, I'm still old school and would like a menu in hand. Mainly because I missed out on the amazing drink options because I didn't know it was a different menu. I stopped at this restaurant on a Tuesday morning with my daughter. The atmosphere is a little unique for a breakfast restaurant. They have 15% discounts for military on Tuesday, and 20% senior discount on Wednesday I believe. There are other discounts. I had the breakfast burrito with hash browns. It was a large portion with lots of meat and scrambled eggs. These meals are available with a variety of sauces. The breakfast entrees are $8 to $12 typically. The waitresses were attentive and quick. I would definitely try this place again for breakfast. read more

Can I just start off by saying the staff here is amazing! I would literally go just to hangout with them. Every time I've gone I have always been greeted with a smile and positivity no matter the circumstances. The food is always fantastic. I can't name a time when I've ordered something that I didn't like or wasn't happy with. Literally everything I've gotten has always satisfied my appetite. When the bars were open I would always ask to sit at the bar to get served by both Megan's/Meghan's. They're lively and friendly and always gave great suggestions and if they weren't too busy they'd chit chat and have great conversations with you. I've been to plenty other brunch places, even the Chesapeake location, and by far hands down this location is A M A Z I N G! Come eat here, tip well, and have a mimosa or two... hell, have a few flights and some great food and phenomenal service. You won't be disappointed. Tried this popular place on Yelp, it was okay. We entered and it took 5 minutes before a Hostess / host sat us down on a Tuesday Morning in the restaurant with semi empty. After being sat down, it took probably another 5 minutes before the waitress came and got her drink order. My husband ordered their new caprese omelette and I have the Spanish omelette. You cannot have a Caprese omelette without the balsamic vinegar on top or in it and that's what it was lacking. The Spanish omelette was missing a salsa flavor. The eggs were very rubbery and there was no flavor at all. The hash browns were the only thing good and had flavor. We rarely saw our waitress, and had to ask another waitress to refill our drinks. Pick up is a JOKE! Your staff DOES NOT CARE about your business. They just let you wait outside for half an hour even though you've already received your pick up notice before arriving and then when you ask you get attitude from such rude staff. On top of it when we finally get our food our bag is swung at us and our food was all to one side. Your staff is so unprofessional. read more
