When I took it back into the office and opened it up, at least 5 of my co workers came over to tell me how good it smelled. The brisket portion is generous and tender - and the cheese, sour cream, and green onions are the perfect classic compliment. It was swimming in melted butter, which might be a negative for some. But not for me! I was tempted to give 4 stars because a $10 potato is still pricey, no matter how delicious, but the girls on the truck were awesome and service was quick. In person, these taters mean business, especially with all the toppings they add to make it as tall as your face. This is definitely something you hold tenderly and safely with both hands according to OSHA standards. I got the Original combined with the Cheese and Broccoli because the broccoli totally offsets everything else calorie-wise. The potato isn't dry or hard, but soft like you're cutting into a fresh warm pancake with your fork. When you look down at your place, your tater is bathing in a warm bed of melted butter. It's so perfect, so beautiful ... GET IN MAH BELLY. If you're not a cheese wiz fan, I recommend you don't get anything that has the melted cheese - just ask for the shredded. I've been known to eat an ungodly amount of potatoes in one sitting but I hit a brick wall 3/4 into this with all the toppings on it. I highly recommend the Brisket baked potato if you like a spices (not spicy) in your food. Great price point, totally recommend if you ever see them!

However, their Facebook page is kept current and I was able to determine that they would be appearing on a Saturday evening at the Food Truck Caravan in Scottsdale located at 5th Avenue and Goldwater Boulevard. Fortuitously, I had bought tickets for a comedy show at Scottsdale's Stand-Up Live, which was a stone's throw away. I couldn't resist ordering the BBQ pork street tacos (beer barbeque pulled pork, jalapeno slaw, with bacon beer aioli) and they were phenomenal! They come three to an order so I was able to share with my comedy show compadre. He concurred that they were scrumptious. It stands to figure that porky goodness cooked with beer can be somewhat irresistable, and the folks at The Traveling Monk seem to know that all too well. I have since noticed that The Traveling Monk has been appearing at new breweries, which seem to be popping up in the East Valley as of late. I will keep my eyes peeled on their Facebook feed, since it seems like a perfect excuse to visit them at a couple of breweries on my list (Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company in Gilbert and Huss Brewing Company in Tempe, for example). I can only imagine how well their food goes down with a delicious craft beer, and I can only surmise that the folks responsible for The Hungry Monk (which maintains a very respectable craft beer selection) know exactly what they are doing.

The flavor of the crêpe was good. My suggestion for improvement actually falls within the structure of the crêpe itself. I appreciate that the crêpe had large size filling pieces and in a generous amount, but the way the crêpe was served was really not conducive to eating without a knife and fork on a plate. First, it was served in a cardboard holder that was not flexible so you are unable to roll or fold it down as you eat your way from the top to the bottom. Second, the crêpe completely broke and fell apart and all the fillings were falling out. I have been to several other crêpe food trucks that did not have this problem and probably would not order again from East Valley crêpe specifically because of this inconvenience :(

It's one of my favorite Mexican restaurants here in the Phoenix Southeast area. This restaurant is located in a strip mall on the south west corner of Greenfield and Baseline. When you enter the restaurant directly in front of you is a counter with a cash register and behind the counter is the kitchen. The decor has a very rustic Hispanic feel. I love the little Tile roof awning they have when you first walk in and throughout the restaurant. There's seating in a room to the right of the counter, in a room to the left of the counter and outdoor seating as well. When the weather is nice, we enjoy sitting outside. They have it warmly decorated with trees and plants, which makes for a very relaxing environment. On our last trip, Juanita was our server and she was fantastic. She paid very close attention to details like ensuring our drinks were filled and when I asked for some extra green salsa for my quesadilla, she quickly brought me enough to finish what I was eating with my dinner plus some to take home for my leftovers. They start you off with chips, salsa, and bean dip. They offered their red salsa which is very good, but I am absolutely in love with their green salsa. So upon request, they will bring you some. Their green salsa has a slight sweet taste to it. I love dipping my chip in the beans and then dipping it into the green salas. There's just something unique about that flavor combination. For dinner I had the Carne Asada quesadilla. I normally get the mango chicken quesadilla, which is absolutely delicious. They also offer it with shrimp. Pretty much any meat they offer on the menu you can get in your quesadilla. This is the first time I tried the carne asada quesadilla and it was fantastic. It came with diced up Carne Asada that was very tender, loads of cheese and guacamole inside. It was really good! My husband got a combo meal that had enchiladas and a chile relleno. He also enjoyed his meal. He ordered his enchiladas Christmas style, which is red and green sauce on top. He said his Chile relleno reminded him of the ones his mom makes.
