Great brunch place. This place definitely deserve a 4 or more stars, we were a bit hesitated to go in when we read the low review before. It was packed when we got there at 9am this morning but we got a table just before the rush hour, our waitress Kenya came to greet us right the way with her friendly sweet personality. We visited Savannah, Georgia missed breakfast at the hotel and wanted a great brunch spot that was also pet friendly. Parking is behind the venue and plenty of it. This place came up and decided to check it out. We got sat quickly in the outside area. They also have an inside air conditioned area but I don't think pets are allowed inside. I was in the mood for southern comfort style breakfast that had grits and biscuits. I ordered the bacon egg & cheese grits bowl with biscuit & a steak and egg scramble bowl with biscuit. To wash it down I choose a Spiked berry lemonade it was delicious and refreshing. I asked what is a must have item on the menu. The server offered us to start with the monkey bread it's a house specialty. I thought it would be too sweet but ordered it anyway. We started our breakfast off with the warm monkey bread and it was perfect. Two can share one piece. It wasn't overly sweet, i recommend grabbing some with coffee. It's fantastic! The staff even gave doggy treats to my fur baby and water. Service was fast and to the point. After we took a short walk to the park and spent the afternoon there. This restaurant closed at 2pm because they are obviously a brunch spot. If I am in Georgia again I will def return. read more

Waiter 1 1/2 hours just to be seated. Then we were told they ran out of funky bread (main reason for coming to this restaurant). My husband and I ordered pancakes and he also ordered eggs, sausages and has browns. We already ate all the pancakes when the rest of the food came out. Finally the food arrived but it tasted really bland. The pancakes were okay but rather flat than fluffy. We also ordered mimosas and they were good. Oh Funky Brunch. I recently went here with some coworkers who had raved about this place. It's super cute inside, and our waitress was so sweet! I just felt like the food left something to be desired. I will say, this would be an awesome place to take children. You can choose a table that has a built in griddle in the middle for making your own pancakes. I felt like I needed the entire Funky Brunch experience, so I chose to do this. You get a squeezie bottle of batter and one topping. While the experience was cool, I felt like the batter was super bland. Since this is pretty much the featured product here, I was hoping for some awesome, flavorful pancakes. I wanted to love this place, but I'm just not convinced quite yet. The name says it all; it is a funky place with funky people and decor. But most important of all: The food is funkaliciously good. Having successfully bid on a gift card at a recent CASA fundraiser for The FBC, my husband and I ventured down for brunch on a rainy maybe-there-will-be a hurricane Saturday. The place was hopping with hungry diners, and yes, there was a wait, but it passed quickly. We were offered two seats at the bar, and we were cool with that as we enjoy sitting at bars when we go out. Caroline, bartender and server, was fun and helpful as we ordered a carafe of red grapefruit mimosas, which we prefer over oj. That being said, TFBC squeezes their oj fresh in-house, and it looked mighty delicious. The menu has plenty of breakfast and lunch offerings. I opted for an omelette called The Goodman and chose hash brown potatoes and toast as my accompaniments. I loved that my omelette had cheese, tomato, and bacon in nearly every bite, not just clustered in the middle. Shredded hash brown are a personal favorite, and these balanced the crispy with the soft perfectly. I consumed every bite of the oemelette and the potatoes. My husband chose the Western Scramble which was a hearty plate of scrambled eggs with steak tips and cheese and veggies. Not one bite remained, and he pronounced it delicious. He opted for a biscuit and said it ranked near the top of biscuits he has had in Savannah: tasty, fluffy, not too dry. One menu item that we did not try was the make your own pancakes that are offered at tables with a built-in griddle. Several add-ins to the batter are offered, and people seemed to be having a good time with it. We loved our brunch here and look forward to returning soon. read more

Such good food! I ordered a turkey sandwich it was warm and an amazing sauce I couldn't even figure what the ingredients were but I didn't care I would come back just for that sandwich! We were told the wait would be 45 minutes, but it ended up being maybe 10! Fast service and friendly. read more

I stumbled across this gem hopping off from the Old Town Trolley Tour at stop 8. The wait time for this place was an hour even for one person to sit at the bar. What was nice is they give you beeper that works with in a two block radius. With so much time on my hands I walked a block down the street and went to Leopold's Ice Cream shop. Yes, I had ice cream before I set down to brunch, so worth it. I finally got a seat at the counter, the bartender gave me her top 3 favorite dishes. I went with the black and blue grits and a biscuit. It was good and the blue cheese didn't over power thou it was a tad bland. The staff as friendly enough but they seemed disorganized. This is a cute place recommended by a friend. We opted to stop for breakfast on our way out of town. They have a brightly colored patio with hopscotch for the kids out front, and are dog friendly. The patio is covered so even though it was rainy we enjoyed the fresh air eating outside. Inside was nice, very busy and loud. First I'd like to mention the service- these had to be the nicest service people I've met. The waiter - I think his name was Reggie, was just super nice, and did a good job. He made us feel at home. We had our dog in the beginning who is obnoxious sometimes with pulling and wanting to go smell everything... and another woman came out- host? Owner, manager, not sure.. but she was also super nice and very accommodating saying she wanted to make sure the dog was happy so we were happy lol. And a bus boy immediately came out with a huge water bowl. On to the food- Reggie suggested we try a piece of their superbread or monkey bread? I can't remember- we had that as a breakfast appetizer and it was so good! It satisfied my sweet tooth so I decided to go savory for my meal with the farmers omelet. Filled with veggies and a biscuit on the side. It light but satisfying. Husband had the Reuben, tried a bite and it was yummy. Our daughter had pancakes which came with a small fruit side. Fruit was great, I ate it because my daughter wouldn't. Pancakes I thought were ok. She loved them but I thought they seemed a little tough to cut. That's the only think that kept me from 5 stars. My new favorite breakfast place that I am willing to drive an hour for! I had a doctors appointment in Savannah yesterday and some time to eat beforehand, so we looked for a a breakfast place. We enjoyed walking through all the squares to get there. We were pleasantly surprised by the little colorful umbrellas that did go along with the funky vibe. We were quickly greeted and sat outside. We were told precious would be our server and ended up with Allison as our server, and I must say she is the absolute sweetest lady ever!!!!! She was so kind with all of my quirky requests for my special diet needs. I asked for side of almond milk for my coffee, no cheese on eggs, gluten free pancake, etc etc. She didn't act like I was a pain at all, lol.. which a lot of servers do, when you start nit picking a menu. I can tell she's just a genuinely kind person. She got our food out fast, and constantly checked to see if we needed anything.Now, the food.... Oh goodness it was awesome! Creamy grits, beautiful omelet with big vegetables... not tiny little pieces, hard to find gluten free pancake ... yummy!!!! My husband had steak and eggs and he loved his as well! The place has a large selection of breakfast and lunch foods including southern delights like grits, biscuits, and fried chicken. The fun and funky part of the place is that there is a large griddle in the table where you can cook your own pancakes. You choose a topping and type of batter and cook as you please. We went on Labor Day and were told to go to the bar area to order to go items....after looking through the menu for 2-3 minutes....3 people gathered around the host stand and then stared at us for whatever reason...broke off into different directions and as we started to place an order....we were told, that they will not do to go orders.....after being told where to go to place to go orders. The woman who told us that we could not order, was condescending. As a business owner, if this were my employee...I would have fired her on the spot. While it seems like a fun idea not ideal for those with children. The food was nothing special. The portions were also very small. So small in fact that after our meals we had to get a snack for my 2 year old. The price was well inflated but given that we were in the touristy area it was expected. I did appreciate that there was water put out for those who were waiting for a table. The service wasn't the best. It took our server 3 trips to remember my husband's coffee.
