The fish had a fishy taste but it wasn't overpowering. A side of cheese grits, turkey sausage patties, and a homemade biscuit helped to fill out the meal. The cheese grits were bland, but nothing that some salt and pepper couldn't fix. Considering it was Mother's day, the wait time was relatively short. 10 minutes at the most. They said we couldn't order to go drinks because they were too busy. 3 of our group went to the bathroom at a neighboring establishment before getting our table. They called our names and over half our group got seated, however because people in our group were in the bathroom they said that we couldn't stay. The waitress was extremely rude to the birthday girl, and was adamant that the owner said we needed to leave. It's safe to say we will not be returning due to poor customer service. We've tried to go here on previous visits, but the line was always insane. We waited about 25 minutes today. I had the Breakfast at Mom's. The eggs weren't anything special but still good. Puns, breakfast, and cooking at your table. What more could you want? I've heard of hibachi, fondue and stone cooking at your table, but not pancake cooking. Once I found out this want an option, it was obviously what I was getting. My inner fat kid got chocolate chips as my mixer. My first batch we're normal pancakes. Then I got creative: heart shapes, initials and an attempted Mickey Mouse. Next time I'll try for a Marky Mark shape. The experience was a lot of fun. It was more pancakes than I could eat. I was really excited to have brunch here with my friend before I flew home later that day but I was disappointed. The food was delicious but that's about as good as it gets. I ordered the Farmer's Market breakfast dish and it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The cooks know how to make a great meal. They really need to do something about the waiting area/line to talk to the hostess. Maybe on days where it is nice they could have this line outside. There are two doors about four feet from the hostess and there is constantly a crowd in the way so servers cannot get outside, guests cannot come and go and everyone is squished together trying to see how long it will take to get seated. Our server was great until we got our food then she was difficult to find and we were forgotten about multiple times by different waitresses when we asked for condiments. Our waitress didn't bother to give us her name, and barely checked to see how we were doing, and the one time she did it was so much attitude we just kinda wished she didn't. She charged one f our cards twice, I guess she was rushing so much she didn't realize she'd already swiped and paid with that particular card already. Nonetheless, I'm going to give them another shot, because everyone deserves one. I'll get there early and be sure to get a griddle table and just really enjoy myself, hopefully I'll get to enjoy the staff as well. As for the food, we all left nothing behind, as you can see in our picture, so I guess it wasn't as bad as those snide remarks and stale looks. Really cute little cafe with good service and delicious food. My husband's quiche was amazing. We both agreed it was the best quiche either of us had ever had, mainly due to the fluffiness of the eggs and the crispy buttery crust. The make your own pancakes cost $8.21. They did not cook properly due to the griddle not being very hot, even after our waitress turned the heat up. So the pancakes came out gooey after 5-10 minutes on the table griddle. They turned out gross. My mother liked her eggs though, so I'll give it 2 stars rather than one. Let me say that the decor is phenomenal. It's colorful and artsy. It's on the further end of the strip so you either must stumble across it or by word of mouth. The food was ok nothing to write home about but my partner said the Mimosa was excellent. Our food cake out like warm which was strange because it wasn't crowded but the waitress kindly took our plates back to get them nuked. My grits were lumpy at the bottom and quickly become runny. But the homemade biscuit was excellent!!! Also you can make your own griddles at your table if you want to which I think is a great idea. They also have a full bar and hopscotch in the outside area. This place is busy & for good reason so expect a wait, it'll be worth it. I had the hangover with a biscuit & a peach mimosa. All were delicious. At first the portion seemed kind of small but it was very filling. My boyfriend had the black & blue by the sea. I'm not a huge fan of unsweetened grits but this dish was yummy. Great combination with shrimp & lobster. My son got the pancakes which were fluffy & sweet (he added M&M's). We chose to have them cooked for us but you do have the option to cook them yourself. We went for brunch on a Friday morning and didn't have to wait for a table. The food was great and the service was good.
