Elizabeth was an awesome server and the food and drinks were delicious! The meat and cheese board was great, nuts and veggies are spicy.

How is this place getting such high reviews? Ordered the fish and chips and they were bad! Traditional fish and chips are made in light airy batter, and these are from a much more dense and darker batter, which completely changes the flavor and texture. This might be from the flour or the liquid (is this a beer based) that they're adding, I'm not sure. But it's different. I can handle that part.... What I disliked though is that my fish and fries were completely fried to oblivion. The fries were done to the point where they were just about getting burnt and shriveled. Some of the edges were crispy and just tasting burnt and overdone , and they were clearly over fried and dried out. While the fish in the middle might've been fine, the edges were rubbery and dry from being over fried. One piece had a small piece of bone. And it's super annoying that all of this is served in this metal bucket on top of this warped wood tray. I personally like to go heavy on the vinegar on my fish, but I don't want the vinegar on my fries, and there's no way to separate this out. If this was served on a plate, I could do that, but there's no way to do this when it's all slammed into a bucket with your fish right on top of the fries. And it makes it incredibly difficult to use your utensils, which means you're using your fingers for everything and makes it incredibly messy. And the bucket sits on top of this warped wood tray that doesn't lay flat on the table. So everything rocks back-and-forth and spins around on you while you're trying to eat. Don't order this item if you're on a date and trying to look halfway sophisticated and not like you're bobbing for apples at a Halloween party. And then there's the tartar sauce, which I thought I would sample because it looked like it was made fresh in house. Everyone knows this is a mayonnaise based sauce with a small amount of dill pickles and other seasonings. Instead, it was basically a cup full of dill pickles!!! The ratio of dill pickles to mayonnaise was so ridiculous that the acidity of the pickles had disintegrated and broken down the teeny tiny amount mayonnaise to the point that it was the consistency of water. I've never seen this before. You can't even call this tartar sauce. I noticed that during the week, you can get this item for $12 on the happy hour menu. However, I purchased it for full price on the weekend for $19.99, and was greatly disappointed that so little effort was made to prepare a proper meal when the restaurant was almost empty, and they were not being rushed. Finally, the bathrooms were disgusting. The women's bathroom floor was more sticky than a movie theater floor. You can actually hear and feel the difference from the restaurant to the bathroom when you entered it. It was like nobody cleaned the bathrooms at all. You could actually see all the black film and grime all across the white tiles, and your shoes would audibly stick to it!!! The trash cans in the stall did not have bags, so people were just throwing trash on the floor too. I always believe that if you want to know how the kitchen in a restaurant is run, look at how clean their public bathrooms are. Because their staff uses those bathroom all day and that's where they wash their hands. They are the ones preparing your food, and the bathrooms are where so much cross contamination occurs. If the bathrooms are disgusting, then chances are this is this is a sign of how the kitchen is maintained, or that cross-contamination is occurring with your food prep or just in general. I only wish I had seen this before ordering anything. Ick!!!!!! The only nice thing I can say is that staff was pleasant and I liked the decor. read more

Stopped by for a random lunch. Place wasn't busy. Maybe a few 3 tables and some folks at the bar. Got seated right away at a booth. Grabbed an app and a sandwich. The artichoke dip was Luke warm and had crumbs on top, which made it pretty dry. Ordered the banh mi sandwich. It has the potential to be good. So I see the yelp average is four stars and I would probably agree except for our server Lacy, she was five star all on her own. Normally I will comment on "a delightful young lady" and leave it at that. For the first time today my wife told me to mention how delightful this young lady was-I was already there but that was an unexpected stamp of approval. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is nice, somewhat rustic but modern all at once.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The tap was lacking-to my taste and all non-tap is in a can so no beer for me. The food was delightfully different. I had a Bahn mi sandwich which was new for me. It is a Vietnamese pork sandwich. I liked it but I've never had one before so I don't know if it is what Vietnamese food lovers would like or not. The wife had the lettuce wrap app for her lunch and she loved it. Speaking of apps, we started with the empanadas, now we started eating empanadas in Puerto Rico and those will never be topped, but by golly these were close. I rarely give less than four stars but I was so sad about this. My gf and I are huge foodies and we were so excited to try the general public as the menu looked yummy and unique! The experience started off not great because we made a reservation online and then when we arrived to the restaurant, the host was extremely unfriendly and gave us dirty looks when we said we made a rez. She mentioned that google doesn't let them take the reservation feature off so they don't actually do reservations. So that's no big deal because we were still able to be seated so we were being really nice about it! But the host just really rubbed us the wrong way :(. We were then greeted by our blonde waitress and she was nice. Got us drinks immediately and apps. My drink had an extremely dirty lime in it which I kinda thought was just a little gross. The rest of the food was pretty good though and waitress continually checked on us! So food was like an 8/10 because of the lime, and then the immediate service just set the tone for not a great meal. Don't think we would choose to come here again unfortunately! Came for Culinaria 2022! I ordered the Crab hush puppies, shrimp and "grits," and brownie parfait. Shrimp and cauliflower grits was by far the favorite. The texture and flavor were both on point. Shrimp was seasoned well and not over cooked. Crab hush puppies were fresh, crispy, and came with a maple butter. The brownie crunch parfait was a fun ending to the meal topped with the right amount of whipped cream (is there ever such a thing as too much whipped cream?) Definitely recommend, and I will be coming back to try the other items on their regular menu. Our server was Mary and she was the bomb! Well I went back to GP for happy hour last week. Totally opposite experience. I get we're in a pandemic but sheesh. My friend and I both ordered Moscow mules. She asked for a splash of pineapple juice in hers, I did not. We both got pineapple juice anyway. Once we got our check, we learned that we were charged an extra $2.24 per drink, for a splash of pineapple juice. So happy hour was pointless. Not to mention the service wasn't good, despite it not being too busy and there were multiple servers. I should have just asked for the manager but I hate doing that. We're usually the 4-5PM crowd, and it's just as good. The grilled cheese bites are the most bang for your buck, HUGE servings for the price and really gooey cheese. Kudos to her! Christian is always overtly attentive and numerous folks will check in with you, clear while you dine and drink, just generally make you feel genuinely taken care of. Some of the best "bar" (read GOOD food) for Happy Hour I've ever had. Highly recommend the sliders and cheese and green chili bites. Only slight comment is that their Happy Hour menu is mainly composed of mainly sweet drinks...each to their own! Only negative I have is their bathroom doesn't have a pull down changing table but it's a bar so...fairly lame complaint.
