Was such a cute spot for a date with a girlfriend. The old house had so much charm and character. I also loved that the porch was dog friendly, so even your furry family members can join. It's surrounded by adorable local shops, so the whole area makes for such a fun outing. The menu had so many options that it was honestly hard to choose because everything sounded so good. They also had an extensive drink selection, and I loved that they were able to turn one of the drinks into a mocktail for me. It was so refreshing and perfect especially since the Arizona heat is starting to kick in. The staff and service were incredibly sweet, attentive, and accommodating. After we finished eating, we walked around all the nearby shops to check everything out and walk off our food. It turned such a simple lunch date into a memorable little day together. Definitely a place we will be visiting again.

The food was great and the service was amazing. The staff were very attentive. The vibe was a nice cool cute date spot. They have cool outside seating. Ask for Camery she was an amazing server. Y'all go fill your backs. God bless and eat good

The place is so cute, people are so nice, service was exceptional and the food was over the top yummy! We tried the cinnamon roll, which was told it was the best, and truly addictive! Recommendation on the green chili omelet and it was loved by the group, the eggs benedict was great, I also got a chicken salad croissant sandwich to go and was great, as well. They are open until 1pm until fall then 2pm. It is a busy place and outdoor seating with misters and fans. Everything is made from scratch and the bison is sourced from a family farm in the Dakotas. What a gem of a place!!!

Wonderfully cozy restaurant serving breakfast, brunch and cocktails. We used Yelp to get on the waitlist in advance and we were seated indoors almost immediately. Both the host and server greeted us warmly. If you enjoy sweets you MUST get a cinnamon roll! Since we both wanted a meal for breakfast, we decided to split a cinnamon roll for "dessert", making our calorie count egregious. Glad we did, though - it was served warm and absolutely slathered in creamy icing. Wow! My green chile omelet was delicious too, even though it ended up playing second fiddle to the pastry. Indoor seating is packed close together, which was fine with us - but if you prefer more space you'll need to brave the heat and get an outdoor table.

I ordered the Almost Real Philly Cheesesteak and it was AWESOME. The meat was tender, and the cheese whiz was perfectly. The food arrived super quickly, and the servers were super kind. Would recommend to a lot of people!

Egg that came with the Country Fried Steak. Glad I got it on the side instead of having the sweet gravy smothered on it.

Came here for breakfast Christmas Eve and was disappointed in the food. Super cute place and great staff and customer service, but the food didn't cut it. We sat inside and ordered the following: Green Chili Omelette with Chorizo - not sure how it pass quality control, but pretty sure rotten avocado should be a sign not to place on plate. Food was served cold, but flavor was ok. Country Fried Steak - food was also served cold and the gravy sauce is too sweet. Never had country sausage gravy that is sweet. Not a fan. Gilbert House punch Cocktails were ok. The fruit got stuck in the straw a lot so made it hard to drink the drink

The Gilbert House is known for their Green chili omelets and cinnamon rolls. My boyfriend and I stopped in when he was visiting as I have been wanting to try as I love green chili and cinnamon rolls. It was a rainy weekend, but they were able to give us a seat inside as I wanted to see the interior. Old style house with tea time decor. Very cute, but quaint so you definitely felt cozy next to other tables. Next visit, I'd probably choose the patio for a little more me space. Our server was super friendly and offered suggestions/answered questions. We didn't catch her name, but the receipt said Allison. Appreciate the great service and even assisting when I spilled the little container of creamer. Always get embarrassed when things like that happen, but she was super understanding and brought over new silverware and napkins. As for the food, I wanted to love it but a few items fell short in our opinion. The cold brew + marshmallow flavoring and cream was my favorite thing of my meal. We ordered the caramel apple cinnamon roll ($7.50) to share to start the meal and we felt the dough was a little tight making it tough (possibly dough overworked and/or not proofed long enough). It could be the batch, so I'd always be willing to try as the center of the roll was delicious. Especially with the fall toppings. For my meal, I ordered the green chili omelet. Some of the elements worked, and others I genuinely questioned. For example, the chunks of cream cheese in the middle seemed strange as they were large resulting in a mouthful of cream cheese with only egg. Additionally, the green chili lacked much flavor or heat. I was disappointed, but must say my boyfriend's blueberry pancakes were fluffy and extremely delicious. We both said we'd return for those. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and would return to order different items and get the blueberry pancakes again.

Can't wait to try the breakfast here!

This local breakfast/lunch spot always looks so busy with a lot of people standing outside waiting for a table. I finally had breakfast here with a friend on a Saturday morning. They don't take reservations on weekends (unless it's for their special after hours dinners), but they do have a waitlist on Yelp. I didn't check the waitlist until I parked around 9:20am, and I was 11th in line! The wait was not too bad though for two people - 20 minutes later, I got a text that my table was ready. There is limited parking to the north and south of the restaurant, so plan accordingly. Also, the waitlist says the entire party must be present to be seated - not sure if they enforce that or not. They have a Fall menu right now - lots of pumpkin and apple flavors. We shared the Pumpkin Pancakes Shortstack ($9.95) and added a side of Apple Cider Sauce ($1) and Caramel Sauce ($1). We were not told of the additional charges for the sauces. The pancakes had a good amount of pumpkin spice and barely sweet, so it paired nicely with the sugary sauces. The Caramel Apple Cinnamon Roll ($7.50) was pretty good and fluffy, though flatter than I expected. On the Breakfast menu, I got the Buffalo Scramble ($15.95). It's rare to see Buffalo on the menu, so I was curious to try. Both the scramble and hash browns lacked flavor, as if they forgot the salt. The hot sauce bottle on the table was much needed. My friend got the 2 Egg Breakfast ($12.50), and she also had to add salt to her dish. We enjoyed having breakfast on the patio in cooler temps after it had just rained that morning. Our waitress, Julia, was really personable and attentive. Overall, the experience was pretty good, but I think I would only come back for the sweet menu items.

I have a problem. I LOVE breakfast food options...like loooove them! My problem is that I never make time to eat breakfast when the food is fresh and when the really good breakfast places are open. I know....I'm not very bright. But I'm trying to be better!! One of the places I've wanted to try for a very long time is The Gilbert House. Confession: I should have tasted this place a loooong time ago! First things first, the aesthetics of this place are amazingly charming and give you that "I'm getting a homemade meal from grandma's kitchen" feel. Definitely adds to the experience. I was met immediately by Olivia (amazing!) and given a seat quickly. She walked me through the menu and I sooo wanted to try everything she suggested. I went with the Spicy Chorizo Omelet with a side or Corned Beef Hash (I almost got the Apple Pancakes as well.....next time!). While I waited for my selections, the Owner, Caitlin, came out and checked on me, a huge plus in my book! Without her saying it, you could tell how much passion and pride she has in the legacy she is carrying on and genuinely enjoys and appreciates everyone who stops in to experience her food. I love that! The food was amazing, the staff are amazing and the food is amazing (did I say that already?)! On a scale of 1 to 10, if you appreciate good fresh food, love to eat in a uniquely timeless place with character and charm, you need to check this out! I will be back to try the pancakes, and the green chili omelet, the French Toast, and, and, and...! PS, Makenna.....I'm so sorry I shut the door on you! Please forgive me :)

This spot has been on my go to list for a while now and we finally made it for brunch! It's such a cute spot and theres shops nearby as well! Parking is tight, so be wary of that. I enjoyed the omelet (hatch chile) and the seasonal pumpkin French toast! the coffee was amazing as well! We plan to order some from the cave creek roasters! And we even pre-ordered skme pie for Thanksgiving! Definitely add to your brunch list! We dined early so the wait wasn't long for us but I did join the yelp waitlist as well. Definitely take those into consideration when you visit!

    Enjoyable great meal with friends.

The breakfast at this restaurant deserves every star. Our whole family loved their dishes, and we'll definitely be back. We started with the cinnamon roll which was warm, gooey, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the French toast, which quickly became the table's favorite, and the Country Fried Steak was fantastic as well. We arrived early in the morning and were seated pretty quickly, which was a great bonus. Highly, highly recommend!

This past weekend, my husband and I were wanting to get some breakfast inside of cooking at home. We've always driven past The Gilbert House, and decided to come by. I don't know what we expected for a Saturday morning, but it was busy! There is plenty of parking throughout the lot and various other buildings and stores. We got our name put in and was told it would be 30 minutes, so we walked around. We came back 20 minutes later, and some time had passed - it seems they had given our table away when they called my husband's name. They were able to get us seated immediately, and offered to get a high chair for my toddler. We had a very nice server - she was very bubbly and sweet. We decided to sit outside, and it was pretty windy out. They had a basket of blankets in the front for anyone who was cold - that was very nice! We opted out since we were already wearing our own sweaters. As for the food - it was good! Sometimes, simplicity is key, and that is what we wanted. -Homemade cinnamon roll -Blueberry pancakes -Green chili omelet -House made corned beef hash I would absolutely recommend the green chili with chorizo. I didn't order with any meat, but I think it would have rounded out the flavors nicely! You must order the cinnamon roll - it was so tender and sweet. It was great with my house coffee. I would love to come here again when the weather warms up. It was charming and I can see why it is so popular!

My son had ordered food from here as takeout last year. The food taste was interesting, though, I really like the cheese dip for the pretzel bites. The bites were pretty big. Lots of tables at this location, a bit warm. But our party of 14 was easily accommodated. Our daughter chose this place and it was quite loud. My husband and I are quiet people, so if we were to choose again, probably not here because of the loudness and all the TVs all over the place. But for those who like it loud, TVs and do not mind the prices on the menu, have at it. I don't remember our server's name. If she told us, I couldn't hear what she said. She was alright. Honestly, I had a hard time hearing even my son who sat next to me, and hearing my sister who sat one seat over in front of me, I couldn't hear what she was saying. Loudness is an issue for me and I do not have hearing issues. Our bill with tip came to over $700+. That was the most expensive lunch we've ever spent for our party of 14. Typically we're in the $400-500 range. But it was a special occasion. My husband and son got the 36 hr ribs. My husband really loved them. My son said it was okay. I didn't ask my brother and BIL who also got the same dish. I know my BIL was unhappy that he didn't get the side he requested and when they gave it to him (asparagus, I think), it was cold and he wasn't pleased about this. I got the hub burger and it was okay. There was a lot on the burger, but the patty itself, didn't have that much flavor. Some of the "Starters" or appetizers things were salted too much, but the burger did not taste like it had any salt. I had eaten too many starters so when my food came, I wasn't very hungry and took most of it home and ate for dinner another night. My husband and son do not like coleslaw and I ate theirs. THIS I really liked and tasted much better than KFC. I loved the sweetness and that the cabbage was shredded bigger than KFC. The pretzel bites were good. We got wings, and they were so-so. The roasted brussel sprouts were too salty. The deviled eggs were okay, but pricey for 2.5 eggs, which I do pay at Trader Joe's for organic free range pasturized eggs I could've gotten over 2 dozens. But, yes, I pay for the service and ambiance. I really thought there would be more than 5 halves for the deviled eggs. We got the nachos and they were okay. The melted cheese sauce was the best part. My mom got the fish and chips and she seemed to pick at it. She didn't want to take home, so it must not have been that good because she almost always takes a doggy bag home. My sister had the salmon and it was in a huge bowl and didn't look to be that much food. It was pricey. One of my SILs got something I didn't recognize and she said it was okay. No one I could tell was over the moon with the taste of the food and I heard the word "interesting" quite a bit. It's not that it tasted bad, but it didn't really taste good good. You know what I mean? I did bring a special order cake I got at Nothing Bundt Cakes in Gilbert. I asked Culinary Dropout if we could borrow a cake cutter. They didn't have one. Weird. This was a Red Velvet cake and this was absolutely divine. It was moist. The frosting was some sort of yummy cream cheese frosting. The cake was perfectly sized for our party of 14. The cake was the best part of our meal and it didn't come from Culinary Dropout. I would pay this much for a meal at Roy's for lunch for this sized party, but alas, all the Roy's in the valley are closed down. So sad. I'm not saying this place is bad or the food tastes bad. It's okay and pricey. If the food was great or amazing, we don't mind pricey. We have paid over $1K for meals for our big party, and happily do so when the food is equivalent to the price.

At Joe's Farm Grill, the quality of ingredients does show in every single dish you get. Another thing to mention is, when you're done ordering your food at the register, they are pretty fast regardless of how packed the place is which pleasantly surprised me! For the onion rings, I liked them for a few reasons. Starting off, the onions weren't soggy by any means which I love in a good ring, batter wasn't the majority of the ring which is also a great sign, and lastly the crunch was very nice with them coming out fresh. The Fontina burger has a great beef patty that carries its flavor by how clean it tastes alongside the mushrooms that are the other biggest taste factor for this burger. Finally, the baby back ribs were the star for me personally because you can actually taste the pork for its quality. I usually expect a super sweet sauce that bogs me down after with ribs, but these ones left me feeling able to still go on about my day which I love. They aren't shake off the bone tender but I liked the gentle chew they provide. Overall, I recommend Joe's to anyone who cares more about the ingredient sourcing and quality while enjoying a nice family friendly vibe for a lunch/dinner. They have a great outdoor patio seating for times when it's not over 100 degrees.

We ordered two waffle dishes--one with bacon, eggs, sausage and potatoes and the other with chicken strips. Both had really good flavor, but we both agreed the waffles were a little on the dry side. My husband ordered the Ghost Chicken Sandwich and loved it. The garlic fries were also a hit! You really can't beat the setting here. Joe's Farm Grill is right on the farm, with indoor seating and a large, dog-friendly patio. It's such a fun and relaxing spot for a meal!

Both hostess at the front didn't offer a wait list. Instead, we were offered a table in the back outside while everyone else was seated inside. As a Black family, the experience left us feeling unwelcome. I can't say why we were treated this way, but the interaction was extremely disappointing, we chose to dine elsewhere. Update: After my original review, the restaurant reached out to apologize for our experience. We decided to give them another chance, and I'm glad we did. Our return visit was completely different. The service was excellent, and we had the pleasure of meeting the Ashley Cook, General Manager and the owner. They made us feel genuinely welcome. I appreciate that they took our feedback seriously and worked to make things right. Our server Tyler was exceptional.

Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! New food menu tomorrow too?! What?! I was almost tempted to back today to get more of their amazing dishes from the main menu!! Thank you Cat for the amazing hospitality! I learned so much about Gaea in one afternoon too :D Love it. To update about the food I tried but some of you may not get to try since they're changing it up :P *Tiger Shrimp - DIVINE - JUICY ZUCCHINI STUFFED WITH CURRY THAT MAKES YOUR ENTIRE MOUTH WATER JUST THINKING ABOUT IT ONCE ITS EVER TOUCHED YOUR TONGUE - the prawns are BIGGER THAN YOUR MIDDLE FINGER *Thai Salad - zesty spicy, VERY filling and made in lettuce cups, so very much not your typical salad but very tasty *steak skewers - much more like the juiciest steak I've literally ever had on a skewer - LITERALLY...but not because it's fat, just because they somehow made this steak completely juicified - don't ask me how - ask Cat *Mole Chicken Skewers - My favorite...you should just try it.

I had ice tea and wife ordered the blood orange jenny drink; both were great and refreshing! I also ordered a loaf of their warmed sourdough and butter to share with the table. Almost like being in San Francisco! For dinner we decided to share a couple of things; the crab cakes, which comes with fried avocado and some of the best aioli for dipping. The cakes themselves are big and full of crab with just the right amount of filling to create a decadent and moist cake! We also shared the seared jumbo scallops...High Tides knows how to cook scallops to the best! So yummy and tender and perfectly cooked with that crispy outer and the soft, creamy inside. We also shared a Caesar salad and one of the things we love about this place...ask and you can get some fresh anchovy on the side to add to the salad. Wife always asks for more lemon as well to drizzle over the salad. Overall a fantastic dinner for us and everyone with us!

A Consistently Delicious Experience at Flower Child…read more I've been enjoying Flower Child since they opened their first location over 12 years ago, and I've had the chance to visit many of their locations over the years. Today's review is for the Williams Field Road location, and once again, Flower Child did not disappoint! As always, my order was fabulous. I ordered the steak plate with mac & cheese and brown rice, and added a side of chicken. Every part of my meal was delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and made with the high-quality ingredients I've come to expect from Flower Child. I usually get the rose lemonade, which I really enjoy, but I decided to skip it today. I also used curbside pickup, and Abby brought my food out. She was very nice and provided friendly service, which made the experience even better. I'm still giving this location 5 stars because the food quality, flavor, and service are consistently excellent. My only minor criticism is that Flower Child is a bit on the pricey side for the portion sizes. That said, the quality of the food is very high, and I keep coming back because it's consistently delicious. Another great meal from Flower Child!

Happy birthday to me - here's some plastic in your strawberry muffin…read more.. Food was good, although it seemed like they gave me the smallest piece and the only reason I didn't take a picture was because they gave a decent amount of mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese, and it was cooked medium like I asked. I went to dessert - ate a bite and thought the muffin was tasty so took another bite and felt a crunch and pulled out a small piece of stringy plastic. I looked at the muffin and there was a piece sticking out so I pulled it out and was deterred in eating the muffin. Today is my birthday so it's obnoxious I wasted it here. I noticed the price on the entree meal went up from like 15 to 18, so that's dumb too - not worth it. Why do I come back? Because by now I'd hope y'all would get your shit together but y'all consistently mess up.
