I came here for a slice while out bar hopping with friends in the Marina. Typical, you might think. Prices are a bit steep at around $8 for a slice of combo pizza, but that's just how it is these days, and it's far superior to fast food, which I avoid at all costs. I also think it's better quality than other late night slice shops in North Beach, which is pretty impressive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a decent amount of space but not a lot to stand or sit and eat your slice if you don't want to take it outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I think I had a good experience here. The place is relatively small and only had three tables. However, the pizzas were decently good, although I couldn't say that it was one of the best; it was more of an average pizza which wasn't quite the hype. However, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place itself was clean and well organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, I think it is still a good place to stop for a pizza. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It certainly had a cozy and friendly atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Two pepperoni, one pepperoni/sausage, and the ranch which the cashier offered me (it was great ranch!!)

This pizza place is perfection. The pizza is top quality which warrants being purchased at any hour, but they are open super late!! Super convenient! [[HIGHLIGHT]]A clean place with excellent service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Warm, crispy slices delivered to your table with kindness. I would recommend this to anyone, whether you are coming late night from a bar, or during the day for a quick lunch or dinner. This was absolutely excellent. The place was staffed well. A very enjoyable experience indeed.

Chicken Pesto Pizza 7.55/10- made with pesto, mozzarella, ricotta, chicken, artichoke, tomato, and garlic. I loved that they put artichoke on this - it added such a great tangy flavor that really complemented the pesto. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, and the combination of mozzarella and ricotta made it super creamy. I wish there was just a bit more flavor overall though, as I typically prefer red sauce over pesto. The garlic was present but could have been stronger to really make the flavors pop. BBQ Chicken Pizza 8.68/10- this was so good! The BBQ sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, and it paired amazingly with the tender chicken pieces. The cheese was perfectly melted and had that ideal stretch when you pulled a slice. The crust was crispy on the outside but still had a nice chew to it. Honestly, it could have used more chicken though - some bites had plenty while others were mostly just cheese and sauce. But the BBQ sauce wasn't too overwhelming and still gave it that smoky, sweet flavor that made it really satisfying overall. This place is definitely funded by drunk people after a night out! It's open late in the Marina and there's literally a line out the door with a pretty long wait, but it's worth it for late-night pizza cravings. Instagram: @hungrytamale

This is one of my favorite pizza spots in Cow Hollow. The employees are super nice. I love the thin crusted pizza and basic yet simple toppings. It just makes me comforted after a late night out to know I can grab some pizza without a big wait and take it home to eat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't expect tables or number tags. Just walk up and get your slices.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I have mixed feelings about this place. I can definitely tell it's funded by people visiting after a night of drinking. We arrived in San Francisco late from our flight and were hungry. This was the only place still open nearby that was quick and easy. Quite expensive for one slice of pizza and they came out lukewarm. But when we asked them to heat it up, they had no problem doing so and the pizza tasted pretty good. If you're drinking in the area, this would be a solid stop after.

Grabbed a couple slices from this pizza spot. They were thin, fresh, and perfectly crispy. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's more of a grab-and-go vibe since there isn't much seating, but totally worth it for a quick bite or late-night craving.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick. Will definitely be back for another slice!

The best overpriced pizza for a night out. Each slice is $7.50, but when you're drunk, numbers don't really mean much! I got the chicken pesto pizza and was transported to another dimension. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy and the pesto was so so thick and creamy. The crust was thin and on the crunchier side and the cheese was a bit tougher. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't too much seating indoors, especially when it gets packed at night but eating on the sidewalk allows a nice breeze.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cashiers were friendly

Love coming here after a night out or for a pit stop. They get lines out the door but the pizza comes out hot and they got great choices with good quality.

Great for late night pizza, one of the only places that close at 3am! The service is usually great and fast and I love that they have some seating even though it's more of a takeout place. Not dying to go back but wouldn't mind it if I was out late!

I always come here since Costco took off their combo pizza and this place is so good. It definitely better than costco combo because it's not as salty. Same with the pepperoni pizza. They were closing but he let me take my time to eat my slice and let me take my pictures. Definitely come here if you are ever craving costco combo. They have many options to choose from as well.

I've been to Tony's a few times, and the first two times, my hub and I have left raving about it and telling all our friends and fam to get to Tony's. If any menu item says Grandma in it.... you can be sure it's an incredible pizza. They're extremely accommodating and service is great. It's a l w a y s busy, even on weekdays, even in the middle of the work day. Reservations are smart! Parking is not easy but not impossible in the area. We live in the city so we always take public transportation. Within the last 6 months, I've discovered a gluten and dairy allergy that really took me down. Without getting into the gnarly details, it wasn't fun and I've been grieving pizza since this new discovery. So why would I go to Tony's with this new allergy? Because! I read that they offer a gluten free, dairy free pizza. Insane I know, but yet they offer it and I was PUMPED. When asking the waiter what I can get based on my needs, he responded to me like I was a war criminal. He was a Caucasian gentleman with brown hair. He raised his voice for all the diners to hear about my allergies, told me I couldn't get any pizza, and when I pointed out that there were options, he told me "I'll triple check if this is possible for you." When he came back and confirmed it was possible, he tells me they can do a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni. It felt like the moment he heard 'gluten' and 'dairy,' he mentally categorized me as 'vegan' and stopped looking for ways to make the experience enjoyable. Yikes! Lol I fully recognize - girl, why did you go to a pizza spot with a gluten and dairy allergy? Yes I am not okay for this hahah but also I felt pretty embarrassed and treated really poorly. This experience doesn't reflect Tony's as a whole, but it was just a terrible interaction and that waiter made it real clear that he has no patience for anything that is inconvenient during his work shift.

Guy at that counter was friendly and worked efficiently. After we ordered, it took 10 minutes to get our slices and we ate immediately. The slices were above room temp (so I know it was reheated), but it nowhere near hot. The dough is very thick, but had a very soft chew and zero crunch. The garlic and clam was a great taste, but it's hard to enjoy what essentially felt like a slice of focaccia that was reheated for 15 seconds in a microwave. Again, I have to believe something was terribly wrong with our order, especially after looking at the reviews and seeing the Dave Portnoy review. Maybe it was placed in a cold oven? Maybe someone put a bunch of slices in the oven at different times and accidentally pulled out the newest addition to the oven and served it to us?? Is it all hype??!! Either way, our trip is too short make a second go to sort it out.

Unfortunately, there ended up being an issue with part of our order, but before we even had the chance to say anything, the team had already taken care of it for us. That honestly stood out to me more than anything. There was no awkward back and forth, no need for us to complain or ask for anything. They noticed something wasn't up to their standard and immediately made it right on their own. That level of customer service, especially on our first visit, was such a great surprise. And the pizza itself was SO good. We ended up having the pepperoni and what I believe was a vodka cheese slice, and absolutely loved both. Great pizza, even better people, and the kind of customer service that makes you want to come back. I unfortunately didn't catch everyone's names, but huge shoutout to the team working today. The pizza has charred edges like Neapolitan which adds a nice smokey flavor. The crust has zero flop and a nice golden crust on top. Sauce has a tough of sweetness. I also enjoyed their use of fresh basil and the grated Parmigiano-Reggiano they throw on at the end. It's kinda like a new york slice, but a little gourmet? Very tasty for sure. Critiques: First off, each slice is $6-7, which is a bit steep. Maybe times have changed, but this is def not a budget meal, especially if you are eating multiple slices. Second, some of their already crispy slices have been sitting on display for some time and completely cooled down. When these slices are then reheated, there is a bit of an overcooked taste? Lastly, they only have a few topping options and the quantity of toppings on each slice (especially protein) is pretty sparse. I also ordered a slice of the Sicilian as well to mix things up. It was good, but the crust was just a touch too greasy for me.

When we arrived, our waitress didn't seem very knowledgeable about the beers, but honestly, that wasn't a big deal. My boyfriend ordered his pizza while I was still deciding what I wanted. His pizza came out very quickly, which we had no complaints about. The issue started when we had barely been seated for about 15 minutes. I went to the restroom, and while I was gone, the waitress approached my boyfriend while he literally had pizza in his mouth and a full beer in front of him and told him, "My chef said to charge you." He was confused but said okay because it made us wonder if they were closing. I checked the hours, and they weren't supposed to close until 10 PM--it was barely around 9 PM. I HADN'T EVEN ORDERED MY FOOD YET. I was still planning on ordering my own pizza, dessert, and a drink. Instead, we suddenly felt like we were being rushed to pay and leave. What made the situation even more unprofessional was that she left the payment device at our table for Apple Pay and then actually left the restaurant. She was the only server we had seen around, so we were basically left sitting there with the payment device and no server. We eventually had to get up ourselves to find someone so we could ask for boxes and return their payment device. No one had even asked whether we needed boxes, wanted anything else, or were finished ordering. My boyfriend didn't even finish his beer because at that point the entire vibe had changed and we just wanted to leave. We had driven an hour specifically to try this restaurant and were genuinely excited about it, which made the experience even more disappointing. I completely understand if a server's shift is ending, but there is a professional way to handle that--especially when customers are still actively eating and one person at the table hasn't even ordered yet. Someone could have simply explained that her shift was ending and introduced whoever would be taking over our table. Instead, we were made to feel like we needed to pay and leave. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the experience. We really wanted to like this place, but being treated this way after driving an hour to come here was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
