I have been here for both pasta and pizza but last night went with a group of 9 for a late night dinners I shared a pizza alla norma and a pizza salsiccia with a friend. Both pizzas were fresh and tasty, though I liked the alla norma (with eggplant) slightly more. They serve the pizzas as they come out of the oven, which means in a larger group it's harder to start to eat all at once. Overall, delicious pizza with some traditional Italian options and served with a knife and fork as it would be in Italy. 5 out of 5. I have also had the tonarelli here and while it is good the pasta options are clearly more Italian-American (pasta Alfredo pasta alla vodka with salmon) and not as traditional. Since it was cold, I chose to sit inside, but I liked that they offer blankets for guests who prefer sitting outside. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly, which made the overall experience pleasant. However, I was expecting the food to be the highlight and was a bit disappointed. The starter bread they offered was unique and something I really enjoyed. The pasta was probably the best dish I had - I liked it, though I felt it could use a little more sauce. I ordered the Meyer Lemon pizza, and while it was a nice thin pizza, it was a bit too sour for my taste because of the amount of lemon. Btw they helped to customize it with 2 extra things I wanted on pizza. I think it needed more mozzarella balance. The pesto on the pizza was also disappointing; it looked like a very dark green sauce and didn't have the fresh pesto flavor I was expecting. I also tried a mocktail that was priced at $12, but I don't think it justified that price. For dessert, I ordered the tiramisu, which was good - not amazing, but definitely a nice way to end the meal. I had an awesome experience at Napizza! The service was great, the vibe was very nice, and the food was delicious!! Some of the best truly authentic pizza I've had in the states. I was so excited when I saw they had mozzarella de bufala on the menu. & I was even more excited when I heard that they source all of their pizza ingredients from Italy. And the result was a really delicious pizza. The dough had the perfect amount of chew, and a delicious taste & char. The red sauce was delicious and nicely acidic / seasoned. Officially my favorite Italian restaurant. We got the mortadella pizza and burrata truffle pasta, and both were incredible. The truffle pasta had the creamiest, richest sauce I've ever had! so good I was practically licking the bowl clean. The pizza was comparable to the pizza I had in Italy. The dough was fluffy and fresh, the mortadella was perfectly savory without being too salty, and the stracciatella cheese on top was unbelievably creamy. This was our second stop on a Friday night so we didn't go all out, but I'm really glad we went here. I hadn't been in a while and it definitely held up. We were able to walk in and get seated right away, which felt like a win for a Friday. The vibe was fun. It seemed like a lot of the staff were from Italy, which added to the whole experience. Couldn't wait 2 hours for Little Joe's across the street so decided to get pizza/italian food right across the street. Probably the best decision I could have made because the pizzas were incredible! The eggplant pizza was just so well done and savory, I've never had eggplant pizza before let alone known it could be that good. Each time we come it's 5 stars for consistency of food, service and ambiance! My family and I really love this place. Some of the best food in the city. Really phenomenal food and seriously very good service. Hella vegetarian friendly. Good for kids too, my kids are a little older and well behaved, but the staff is very sweet with our kids and our kids always really enjoy the whole dining experience here. We see other families w kids here too lol ...and couples on a date, older and younger couples and groups of friends...and families alike all seem to have happy times here. I stumbled in here late night, starving, and returned during appropriate dinner hours to pressure test. Hot take - I think this is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. The branding outside is so misleading- inside is beautiful (small) and food is so delicious; you just do the happy dance through every bite. I got an authentic Cesar salad, and split the truffle pasta and a pepperoni pizza with a friend. They pre divided the pasta for us into separate bowls which was so nice! Wow! Great little find in South Beach area. I originally came here to go to Joe's but the wait was over an hour and that's when I saw this little Italian place across the street. I came here to get Pizza but I wind getting Fettuccine Salmone but "forgive me" with chicken. The creamy sauce was rich and full of deliciousness to go along with their house made noodles. You can tell this place uses high quality ingredients and if haven't tried the pastas here, you are missing out. Pure Italian comfort food here. I aim to try the pizza next time here. read more

The mortadella pistachio pizza was good but very heavy on the cheese and was a little unseasoned. The bbq chicken pizza was too saucy. The crust was pretty good and nicely chewy, but too thin and hard to eat -- the toppings kept skidding off. However I have to call out the amazing service we received even though it was an hour before closing! We ordered for pickup online but then decided we wanted to eat inside instead, so I asked if that was okay, and they were very accommodating -- bringing us water, plates, utensils, and even offering to serve the pizza for us. Between 2 people we shared the Norma pizza with fried eggplant and ricotta and pesto gnocci for vegetarian options. The pizza was delicious with a thin and chewy crust. I love neapolitan pizza and they do it really well here! It's light and satisfying without being too heavy. The crust is soft though so the pizza was a bit difficult to eat with all the toppings. The gnocci was good as well with a flavorful pesto sauce and they were nice enough to split it for us between 2 plates without us having to ask. There is complimentary bread as well if you ask! Napizza is a cute spot in a good neighborhood. We had a reservation, and it was clear that they weren't ready for us. They sent us a text to push us back 15 minutes, which was totally fine, but even then they squeezed the 5 of us into a 4 person booth. Not a big deal! The food was better than I expected after walking in, but I do think there is better pizza in SF. I did enjoy the pesto gnocchi! I will say, I was surprised that this spot isn't new based on how it was operated with the table and service. Everyone was so nice, but it was disorganized and we had to ask for things a few times. They also made a minor mistake on two of our dishes by switching cheese type on one of our pizzas and adding burrata to our pesto (this was a happy accident as it normally cost more to add ). Napizza is a guilty pleasure! When I come to San Francisco we always get a pizza (or two) here. It's hard to stop eating it and we definitely over-eat every time we come since we want to try everything on the menu. Love their Caesar salad. And their Lasagna! And great Neapolitan style Pizza.. can't say I have a favorite here since all the flavors are great in their own way. If you can't decide just pick one with the toppings you generally like and it'll be a hit. There was one time that they made a pizza soggy but they offered to make another one to make up for it.
