I found The Goods through Yelp and knew it was going to be amazing based off the amount of r5 star reviews. The Goods did not disappoint! We went around 10am on a Saturday morning. It was busy, but the line moved quickly. The interior of the donut shop is modern and inviting. It's much "fancier" than most donut shops. There were some inconsistencies between their website menu, instagram menu, and what they actually had in store. They had a variety of donuts and pastries to choose from. Some flavors were sold out and unavailable to get. Some flavors that were sold out came out while we were there. They also have a handful of gluten free donut options. There is also a drink menu with coffee drinks. We decided to try the Samoa, brown butter, seasonal berry, apple fritter, chocolate ganache, and the cinnamon roll. The Samoa and brown butter were good, but not our favorites and would probably not get these next time. They were both cake donuts and a little dry. We would definitely get the cinnamon roll, apple fritter, seasonal berry, and chocolate ganache again. The yeast donuts were fresh, soft, and fluffy. The cinnamon roll had a lot of cream cheese frosting and was the biggest cinnamon roll I've ever seen. It is great for sharing. Inside was beautiful and spacious. All the donuts were beautiful and huge. Gluten free ones are the smaller ones. Total came out to be about $23 I decided to eat there and when I took the first bite of the brown butter donut it threw me off because it did not taste like brown butter. I kept taking bites to see if maybe I can get use to the taste but I just didn't enjoy it. It started tasting more like almond flavor. I also did not enjoy the Nutella buttercream cruffin. The Nutella buttercream tasted to oily/buttery/fatty to me instead of a Nutella chocolate taste. But those two donuts that I got I did enjoy the actual texture of the dough they are both thick and hefty. Because I didn't really enjoyed those two that I picked out I went to get another donut and I chose the chocolate ganache donut. This was so much better! The chocolate is dark and rich. I ordered: -Vanilla Glaze $4.25 - Cinnamon sugar cruller $5 - Brown butter + Sea salt $5 Definitely pricey per donut but obviously, location + aesthetic =pricey. I have had many vanilla glaze donuts from various spots and this one did not have that sweet decadent taste like I expected. For some reason it tasted a little like cherry to me. The Cinnamon sugar cruller was like a light version of a churro, not really too flavorful, nothing special in my opinion. The brown butter + sea salt was the best one I tasted. I'd honestly give it 10/10 and I would come back for this specific donut if ever I'm close by again. Customer service was non existent. I walked in, and wasn't greeted. It being my first time visiting, I would have appreciated some assistance in the ordering process but the worker was making a drink and completely ignored me and it wasn't even busy. I stood by the cash register for a few minutes and didn't get any acknowledgment. Once she was done making the drink she came up to the register and asked me how many donuts I wanted. These are legitimately the very best donuts in all of San Diego County. I think the best donut and my very favorite is the brown butter sea salt. This donut is more like a cake doughnut and it's a little salty and sweet and it is just pure amazing my husband really likes the maple donut with bacon on it and that's because we usually walk around the neighborhood before stopping to get a doughnut and he shares some of the bacon pieces with our dog. I purchased the seasonal trio they had for November, pumpkin chai cheesecake, mocha custard, apple pie, then a classic maple to keep the fall theme. Took them home for the roomies to try as well. However, this time the overall quality was far more disappointing than before.
