It was a random craving for Halal Guys so I decided to place an order through Door Dash. Our food was delivered within 35 minutes considering they are located in Cerritos. All items were neatly packed and customized as requested. We ordered two combo platters: chicken and beef gyro served with orange basmati rice, lettuce, diced tomatoes and pita bread. The white sauce is what sets them apart from other places. So creamy and flavorful over the meat and veggies. Top it off with the hot sauce and it's simply delicious. I've tried it in NYC and the Cali locations are almost as good. I like that this is a much more healthier option. We will continue to order from here. read more

Not a regular, but my love craves it once in a while. Not sure it lives up to the hype they once had, but it does satisfy a craving, so isn't that the point? Anyway only my second time at a Halal Guy and I have to say the service had been great both times. Also, both times during Covid so just walk up and order, but still really friendly. This time I ordered while my GF was in the car with our dog, so asked about some of the veggie options and found you can add jalapeños and bell pepper for free, so why not, especially since they put it on the side with lettuce and tomato if you ask. Pretty cool for them to do that and when I asked for sauces, they already had enough in the bag but were happy to provide more if I needed some. After a quick check, found they put what I needed and them some, so again pretty cool service. Food is good, not great for Mediterranean food IMO since I have some other faves, but it did hit the spot so I'm happy. Given the proliferation of Halal Guys locations in SoCal now, I wonder why the hell I bothered to wait for three hours in that Costa Mesa line three years ago. Desperation makes you do some wild things, I guess. Either way, I knew the Cerritos location had been open for a while, but never had any reason to come here. Well, when you're in the area and you're on that keto diet...well, now I got a reason! As is the (sad sad sad) case these days, combo platter with no rice, all salad, extra tomatoes, and throw on some onions for good measure. Do I miss the rice? Hell yeah! At the same time, you do what you gotta do. Better to have something rather than nothing. And honestly, that something is always...always...ALWAYS gonna be the white sauce. As long as you don't take that from me, we're solid. Oh yeah, aside from the above, food was as expected from any other SoCal location (a.k.a. solid but still ain't NY cart level). Service was solid, which I would certainly hope given that it was about as busy in here as a library on a slow day. I get the chicken platter (includes rice lettuce and tomato) add bell pepper and onion (both options free as well as olive for and additional cost) with white sauce on top. They also have other sides such as hummus(very good and can add olive oil and Paprika at no additional cost) , fries , desserts , fountain drinks and much more. The service is always good and staff are very nice had Marcos as a server this last visit and was very kind and helpful. They have in door seating (cute as has plenty of tables) as well as a single stall restroom for both men and women (usually very clean and well kept). Overall very much recommend !!! read more

Got takeout. My choice was the beef Gyro plate. The container was filled with 3/4 rice! Then they carefully placed thinly cut dried out beef all over the rice. So when you first look at the container, you think there's a lot of beef in it. WRONG! Accompanying the rice dish was old iceberg lettuce and diced tomatoes. I would've preferred something like tzatziki sauce rather than the packaged stuff they sent with the meal. No, I'm not going back. Btw, the baklava was mediocre. read more

Just finished up dinner here with my wife and it was delicious! We ordered pickup through Yelp, and did some shopping at Target while we were waiting. By the time we got done shopping, the food was already ready to be picked up! Very happy about how quick they prepared our food! Not only that, but they actually got our order 100% correct. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered food either for pick up, or even delivery, and there's always something missing or incorrect. I even got blamed for it one time. So kudos to the staff who worked on May 6th during the evening! The food itself was delicious! I got the Gyro Platter, and my wife got the Chicken Platter. We also got a side of fries. (You can get a free side of fries if you check in before you order). Anyway, my wife and I really liked the food, and especially the sauce! We both got extra white sauce, and used on our platters and as dipping sauce for our fries. The fries have a really nice crispy texture, while still being fluffy on the inside. The hot sauce is good, but be forewarned, it's HOT. The Gyro meat is really yummy, but I wish there was a little more of that. Also, there is way too much lettuce.
