Was in the mood for Halal Guys and ended up here instead of LBC location because I was across the st at Toys R Us. Ordered my typical Regular size Combo and prepped it with sauce and hot sauce, in the middle of it I was bitting on some hard stuff thinking it was the rice but it was the chicken and same with my daughter. Introduced my parents to Halal Guys recently and they are pretty obsessed. I do admit the food here is super yum! The special sauce they give you to apply on your plates is soooo bomb! Also love the hot sauce , let me tell you, it is VERY HOT. I'm a spicy lover and when I think something is spicy it's spicy haha. I wish they had more of a variety of choices on their menu since I just keep ordering the same plate over and over again. The food is just ok. Nothing on the food that wowed me. I ordered 2 combos for $21. It didn't even include hummus to eat with the bread. The proteins is so little and it doesn't even have a distinguishing taste to justify the little serving that goes with the order. I tasted only a tinge of Mediterranean taste. I have been coming to the Halal Guys for a while, and what brought me in and what continues to bring me back are the employees great hospitality and kindness. Well today's visit fell nothing short of that. Due to the corona virus they were only allowing phone and take out orders and before I could even dial their phone number I was greeted by an employee Candace, Who was able to take my order as if I was inside placing it myself. After placing my order I was able to get my Gyro platter in a timely manner. Today's experience went above and beyond today because after letting Candace know how much extra white sauce means to my order she was able to accommodate me with extra sauce when they were out of the Togo white sauces. We need more employees like Candace! read more

First time at Halal guys and it was pretty good! Asked what their vegan options were and just went with what they had. Bowl was filling. Very tasty food here. Got to say I loved their hot sauce! I must have been to this Halal Guys at least 50 + times, so this is not like this was a one time thing. I order through the mobile App and they literally mess up my order every single time. Whether they forget to give my dessert or they add lettuce when the order asks for no lettuce. For example I went today, I ordered a chicken platter with No Lettuce, add onions and Jalapenos. The first time the order comes out half of it is Lettuce. Send it back. The second time they "remade it" as the worker claimed, guess what it had, yep, Lettuce!!! So finally after sending it back the third time they bring it back and it has no lettuce, but it is also missing the onions and jalapenos. At this point the worker becomes a little rude and argumentive. Of course they did not give me fresh bread pieces (this process has taken like 25 minutes now) and all they really did was remove the lettuce because when i got to eat it I still find random pieces of lettuce under the rice. I always give food establishments the benefit of the doubt and understand its not an easy job, but out of 50 times I have gone they have messed up my order 20 times. The least they could do is give me a free dessert or drink, or even let me keep the order with the lettuce (they throw away leftovers anyways) and let me know you value me as a customer. Even though I love Halal Guys, this location lacks in customer service. I've been here a handful of times to get food to go. The customer service was never anything to mention-- which tells you how good it is. I usually order a combo platter and a gyro platter. The problem started when I ordered the gyro platter. The girl fulfilling my order started to make a gyro sandwich. I politely stopped her and said that I ordered the platter. She rolls her eyes at me and begins to lecture me in front of the whole line about how I need to learn to order things correctly and that it's all my fault for wasting food. Wow, how awkward. I stood my ground and told her that I did say platter and she gave me the silent treatment. I'm not very confrontational (hakuna matata) so I just took my food with the side of unnecessary lecture and paid for it. I get it-- customer service isn't easy and being nice to people all day is hard work, but wow. Just dump the meat on the aluminum plate and be done with it already. If she would have listened closely to my order we wouldn't have this problem. The cashier girl was friendly! She witnessed the awkward debate and tried to make up for it. As much as I love me some Halal Guys, I think I'll be going on a white sauce hiatus for a long time. read more

Halal guys has their mixed reviews depending on individuals experience but this particular location never really disappointed me when it came to the food. My recent visit during the fast Covid changes was an experience. They were fast to act upon the new health regulations and quickly changed their system to app order. And all payments made prior to pick up for contactless payments. You're only allowed inside to pick up your order through their own app or other 3rd party food apps such as grubhub. I had a free soda offer that was good for use but had glitch. When mentioned I was given my drink at the time of pick up. ( thank you to the sweet lady I never learned the name of) To use your rewards you have to order thru their original app + saves you little $ on fees paid to 3rd party apps. read more

I'm not sure if this is the same company who sells its delicious dips at the farmer's market but I thought it was so I ordered. My daughter wanted french fries and i didn't want to go back out into Friday night traffic so I flipped through Uber Eats to find something I might like that also offerred FF. I chose Halal guys because I know their farmer's market dips are awesome. We were incredibly disappointed and ended up going out to In-n-Out. Tough meat, fries on the 'bottom of the dish' instead of on the side, packaged boring sauce not their own great sauce, and what seemed like prepackaged diced tomatoes with no flavor. This was boring and not good. I paid $20 for something hardly worth eating. Very disappointing. read more

Heard about Halal Guys and unfortunately, San Diego still hasn't gotten a location. Everyone raves about it so I was so excited to finally be able to give it a try. I got the combo platter and it came with both the beef and the chicken, red rice, lettuce and tomatoes. I opted for the white sauce to be on the side so I can control how much. While I was in line, a lady in front of me had the white sauce added right onto her plate and she added so much that it completely covered and drowned her meats. I didn't understand why she added so much sauce until I tried it. Everything was so dry and the sauce was definitely needed. I typically don't like to drown my food in creamy sauce, but I had to this time around. The chicken was good, but the beef tasted really tough and rubbery. At the end of the meal, I felt really heavy, gross, and bloated. I'm pretty sure it was from all the oils and the creamy white sauce. How I felt after the meal in combination with the meat texture definitely is keeping me from coming back. read more
