Last time I ate Halal Guys was in Chicago and that was 3 years ago. I'm so glad there's one near my home. The combo is what I usually get and I like to keep the sauces on the side. I like that there's enough flavors and doesn't feel overbearing. I forgot how spicy the red sauce is. The place is located in a plaza with parking lot, however it's usually packed. Eh.. I feel like rounding them up to a solid four. Since my last review.. the owner reached out which I appreciated. I also returned a few more times and still had a good experience.. Always clean.. always cool and air conditioned. Best when they first open. Get the bell peppers and jalapenos.. sauce on the side if you're not going to eat it right away. The few times that I have ordered from here (in person & through UberEats) have never dissapointed! Only have ever tried their chicken and it is so tender and lean! Me and my mother came here after the mall and wanted to try something different! Candice greeted us so politely and with personality! She asked what we wanted and went above and beyond in our order. She suggested hot sauce and dessert, which was just the cherry on top! The food was amazing! We have never had the food before and it was delicious. Located in the promenade across the street from the cerritos mall. The Hala guys offers 3 types of choices for a fulfilling meal: Gyro, Platter and Salad. The meat that they sever is Beef and Chicken. Vegetarian options are the Falafel. The prices for the platters are around $9-10 which seems high being on a budge but it's a great deal seeing the large portion size you receive. The platter comes with a choice of meat, rice, salad, tomatoes and pita bread with a creamy Tahini sauce. ** get the red sauce on the side If you like it spicy but don't put too much of it on your food or be prepared food major Heart burn. For desserts they offer Baklava which is a sweet crunchy pastry that has layers of honey and walnuts in between the flakey layers of the phyllo dough. Drinks are Coca Cola products. The problem I have is that I had such HIGH expectations of this place due to all my friends or people I have heard from on how amazing the street food is while visiting NYC. I knew people who would literally smuggle a couple of plates of this street food onto their five and half hour flight back home to LA. So, yeah, you can imagine how high my expectations were when I heard they finally opened up several locations nearby. When the day finally arrived to try this place out I was quickly disappointed. The food is simply basic. It reminded me of a quick Subway/Chipotle line up but with only 4 entrees to choose from. Sure, I get the fact it originated from a food cart on the streets of NYC and they're limited, but you would think they would introduce a couple more platter or gyro options now that they have the space. The overall Gyro Platter was a bit salty, cold, dry, and flavorless. My initial thoughts were, "Wow, this is nothing to go home and rave about...WTH??" I seriously started to question people's taste level at that point. Overall the food is mediocre at its best. It's not authentic Mediterranean food. They truly Americanized the sh*t out of it. I can't really elaborate any further than that. It's quick and easy if you're in a hurry though. Don't buy into the hype. It's truly overrated! read more

White sauce is as tasty as I remembered. Hot sauce is very hot!! Don't put more than a couple drops. Food was hot, was prepared quickly and the shop followed all the proper covid procedures.
