Went for takeout on a Tuesday evening dinner for the family. I intentionally waited a few months after opening to hopefully allow the crowds to subside. There were still about 15 cars in the drive-through when I arrived and the timing from arrival to food-in-hand was about 25 minutes so they're continuing to get a good crowd. We ordered multiple items to share - the classic pastrami dip, a pastrami melt, a tuna melt and the chili cheese fries plus an order of onion rings. I thought the pastrami was quite tasty - it's shaved nice and thin which is a prerequisite for a good sandwich. It's seasoned very well and not too lean or fatty - just right. The sandwiches come with pickles for an acidic complement to the meat. We enjoyed the tuna melt - it's clearly a house made mix and that sandwich comes with lettuce and tomato. One of my favorite items was the onion rings - they're in a thick breading which is my preferred style. I found the chili cheese fries to be a little on the dry side (if that makes sense). I think perhaps the fries had soaked up all the chili by the time I got home (we live about 20 minutes from the restaurant). I think if I ever wanted to come back I would want to dine-in which I believe would be a better representation of the food quality. Also be aware the portions here are massive - we easily have enough leftovers for another entire meal.

Just newly opened. Whole o can recommend this place I also recommend waiting till the extremely long lines out the door have subsided. Also the long drive thru. Got here and it took about 30ish minutes from walking in the door to placing the order. Again I stress that this place just opened and everyone from all over town is trying it. Food was good. Very big servings. If you eat like a bird 1 order will feed 2. I finished my order but of course I was hungry from waiting. I suggest if you have a place to sit eat it right away cause the bread will get soggy as well as the chili fries. Or I seen a few sit on the tailgate of there truck and/or inside the car with the AC running. It's too hot to be eating on the outside tables right now. Overall it's good. I want to experience properly so I will come back again when the lines are reasonable and I can easily find a seat

Waited for the "HYPE" die down and was able to try. Did drive thru with about 10 cars deep. Line went fairly quick. They were friendly during ordering and at pick ip window. Ordered the pastrami dip & a large onion ring. While in line, the crowd inside was pretty decent, not as chaotic as those other times we've passed by. The pastrami dip was very good. They are very generous with their servings. We split the sandwich between my son, husband and I. Perfect size to fill all three of us. The onion rings were good too... it's not all batter like some other places lol. Both were def worth the price. $13 for pastrami dip and $7 for Large onion rings(bag full) Overall - pretty good......Buuuuut so glad we waited cuz it wouldnt have been worth a 2hr wait when they first opened.

Arrived early and was 3rd in the drive thru. There were already 20 + in line at the door to go inside. I ordered the pastrami dip and a small fry. My pastrami dip was juicy, flavorful and delicious! The small fry is not small, to me it's a large size. Definitely could be shared. I'm fortunate to say that I've eaten at the one in Alhambra and Simi Valley, CA. I will definitely be back as this was a treat.

Omg. The pastrami sandwich was huge. The cheeseburger was big and juicy and at bargain $6.50. At 11:30 pm the line was 15-20 min wait. The onion rings and fries portions were enormous. We couldn't finished 1/2 of our order. A def great find

Went last Monday after running an errand. Unfortunately that put me at the Hat smack dab in the middle of their lunch rush, around 12:30. I pull up and the drive-thru is insane, so I decided to park and go in. The line inside wasn't bad. I was 5th in line to order. After ordering, I waited ~10 min. for my sandwich. Overall, the entire process took ~15-20 min. The pastrami sandwich was good. Not great, but good. I shared it with my husband. It was filled with pastrami and tasted exactly like the last time I had it in L.A. (Pasadena to be exact). I was a Johnnie's Pastrami gal when I lived in L.A. and was introduced to the Hat by my now-husband. I thought it was a 4-star place back then and still consider it a 4-star place. But considering it's in Vegas now, more like a 4.5 star place.

3.5 to 4 stars First time here at the Hat. We ordered pastrami dip sandwich and I split it with my husband. I couldn't finish my half, it was too much for me. It was not too salty. For Flavor, it was okay. We also ordered chili fries, it was humongous portion. The flavor was a little too heavy for me. How you order is to be in line and order and pay and wait to be called. Plenty of chairs and tables. During peak hours the line is long, luckily we came here at 9 pm, line was short. Noise level moderate. They constantly clean the tables and the floor. Plenty of parking.

Food was a bit bland. I expected the roast beef to hold its own on flavor, not have the au jus carry the meal. The hype was real but the taste didn't measure up for me. Granted, I've never been a fan of In and Out so the West Coast palette was never agreeable. My only comparison is to Manny's in Chicago and The Hat didn't even get on the map when comparing tastes. The only redeeming item on the menu was the pastrami French fries. I won't be going back. At the end of the day, I wasn't impressed.

Alright folks, I've been to the original HAT in Cali. Went once and never went back. So, where's the rundown for you. Avoid long lines by going hella early in the most random time at 5:00pm or later after 8pm. Don't even mess with that drive through, it's horrendous looking. Park and just line up or walk in. Pastrami melt- 4/5. Onion rings- 5/5. If you love onion rings, this is the real deal. Chilli fries- 1/5. Fries were meh. Chilli looked like doo doo and I half lost appetite with the look, color, and everything about it. I didn't get cheese on top, cuz it drives me nuts to see unmelted chunks of shredded cheddar cheese on any hot foods. I want my cheese melted, not look like I just topped it right out of the fridge. Flavor was just...0/5 basically not good at all. And I am a self-proclaimed chili connoisseur. Pastrami burger- 5/5. I don't know what it is, but it was exceptionally good. Id go back and get the onion rings, pastrami burger, and call it a day with some orange bang, it was my first time trying it and I liked it.

Had to try out the new location. Went at prime lunch time. 12:30. On the dot. Line wasn't that long. Took a total of 22 minutes to order and walk out the door. Not to bad for a Sunday at lunch. Now the location has ton of parking and easy to get to. Nice new location so it all looks clean and new. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. Took a total of 22 minutes from time I walked in ordered and waited for my meal and walking out the door. As for the quality of the food. It's the same Hat I always remembered. And for the price of 14.00 for a huge sandwich. Hard to beat.

Lauren H.

Another California childhood favorite. The Hat doesn't do fussy. It does flavorful. It's fast-food with a sense of pride, served by friendly staff who make sure your pastrami-to-bread ratio never dips into tragedy. Is it healthy? Absolutely not. Is it a religious experience between two slices of bread? Also yes. Come hungry. Leave happy.

An idea of what you can get.... but if it doesn't include pastrami... why are you here??

Finally got to try this SoCal staple a few weeks after their opening. While the drive thru was still insanity, walking in was a much more reasonable (maybe 15 mins) wait. This was one of my dad's faves, so as an homage to him, had to try it out and bring home (that said, there was a decently large dining room for people to eat in). Wasn't completely sure what to get and ended up with a few Pastrami Dips (which was 1 too many for 2 of us) and a Chili Cheese Fries. Pastrami dip was delicious.. not a whole lot to it, but honestly... there doesn't need to be! Amazingly, the leftovers were delicious the next day too, so if you're not sure if you need one more sandwich.. just get it and have it the next day. As for the fries.. like others on here, nothing earth shattering. Mind you had to bring them home, so the fries likely got a bit softer, but the chili was just okay. The amount of cheese was nice and absolutely necessary to change the flavor. Next time, I'd be going pastrami chili cheese fries (which I didn't see as a menu item until after paying) or fries and gravy (someone get them some cheese curds and these could be decent poutine. I will say that the fries tasted better reheated the next day... so either dine in and eat them fresh.. or maybe reheat them at home immediately?? Definitely want to try eating in one day, but I'll wait for the temps and lines to go down!

Danielle S.

Grew up eating these pastrami dips in California and I'm so glad they had an opportunity to build one here. It's my personal favorite for pastrami dips and chili cheese fries. My husband and I finally decided to try it out since we hoped that it had died down a bit since opening. The drive thru line is still ridiculously long, going all the way out to the street, so we just dined inside. The line wasn't too bad, with about a 15 min wait. The food was ready within a timely manner after ordering (about 10mins). We decided to order our favorite pastrami chili cheese fries. And of course washed it all down with a nice frothy large orange bang. Their seating area is bigger than the other California locations we go too (including brea, san dimas, alhambra and upland). I'll always be a returning customer as long as they have one in Vegas.

Ask the Community - The Hat

Is there a long wait for seating?

15 to 20min

Are they officially open now.?

Today is their grand opening day! May 6th 2026

Is this the same kind of Pastrami you'd get in a Jewish Deli?

I don't believe so. It's a sub roll with thinly sliced pastrami with pickle and mustard. You can get it dipped or dry.

Any new opening date set?

May 6th - grand opening day :)

Is there an updated opening date?

I got an email on The Hat's mailing list stating the grand opening is May 6, 10:00 am - 1:00 am.

Have they opened yet?

No, not yet. Still under construction.

Is the Las Vegas Location open?

I don't believe so. On their website they say they expect to open sometime this spring and spring isn't till the end of March so that means End of March or latter.

The menu is pretty simple which is nice with it being my first time there. We ordered KFC bites and two KFC combos with mushroom fries, waffle fries, a fountain and a limeade. I ate a KFC bite on the drive home and it was tender and crispy. I ordered it plain because it was actually for my daughter. Sandwiches were good! Mine was slightly too crispy/over, but still good. Ordered them spice level Hot and it's a good level of spice. Mushroom fries were interesting. I'm not sure if they would've tasted better before the ride home, but I think I'll try their fries instead next time. Limeade was really good! I wanted to get a picture of it, but my hubby drank it all so fast. Overall, food was really good. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back and I would recommend this place for anyone who likes fried chicken sandwiches.

Hencredible is mostly a to go place as it only has one two top and a few counter seats when dining in. They also post about their cute bags on their social media, which I didn't get on my first visit since I dined in that time. On this last visit, I ordered via their website which is very easy to navigate. They were out of the mushroom fries on my first visit, so I really wanted to try them on this visit. The Husband got the KFC Sandwich ($10) with medium heat. He really enjoyed the cider slaw and Korean radish but wished he got the Hot heat as it wasn't spicy enough for him. The Little Gal got the Loaded Waffle Wreck ($13) because she wanted the shredded jack cheese. However, there was no cheese in sight, and the waffle fries were only okay. Next time, we would probably just do the KFC Bites and fries/mushroom fries instead with the sauce on the side too. The Little Guy got the KFC Bites ($7) and it only came with one sauce. Midway through, he was asking if there was any more sauce and I had to tell him no unfortunately. I got the Mushroom Fries ($5) and it also came with one sauce. I really enjoyed the flavor of it but probably would have liked it even more if I had it fresh. When I went to pick up my order, I noticed it was in a plain brown bag and asked about their special bags and was told they ran out. While in the car and distributing the food, I noticed I had only two sauces - one for the KFC Bites and one for the Mushroom Fries. (I was given two sauces for my KFC Bites during my first visit.) I went back in to ask about the sauces and told them I had received two sauces the other day. He asked what day and I told him on Wednesday and he said they were not supposed to do that. He was very indifferent about the whole situation and didn't offer to sell me another sauce or anything. So, I was a bit bummed with this experience because of the inconsistency with sauce distribution. Because we had four orders and they were piled on top of each other, the dishes on the bottom got a bit steamy and wasn't ideal for something that was recently deep-fried. I really enjoyed my first experience and do attribute that I was dining in, so the items were hot, fresh, and crispy. I would return but would not do to go.

The sandwich was 5/5. I was thinking about this sandwich for days after. What makes them different is the bread. It's toasted, a bit thinner, while being fluffy on the inside, has that crunch on the outside. And it was phenomenal. I went in on a Monday around 11am, and to my surprise there was only one other group (of 3) ahead of me. The employee immediately helped us and asked which sandwiches we wanted. I ordered the Schiacciata del Boss, and the Summer. Each sandwich was $21. Additionally I purchased a Sparkling Water for $3. The employee began making my sandwiches, and I did have a hard time understanding what he said to me because he was mumbling, but I didn't get yelled at so I guess I followed his directions accurately. I will say, It was a bit of sticker shock to realize that I paid $48.77 for two sandwiches and a sparkling water. When we opened the sandwiches, they were actually a lot wider than I had anticipated. I should have done better research because I did not expect the sandwiches to be so flat. I expected them to have a little bit more veggies of some sort in them. The prosciutto also felt very minimal and thin. The bread itself was fantastic. You could tell it was fresh and soft. Additionally the truffle spread was prominent in all the best ways. I did have a problem with my sandwich though.. as I was eating my half of the sandwich, I looked down and there was a hair wrapped around some of the meat and coming out of my sandwich. I tried to tell myself it was my hair, because it was black, but my hair is long and that day it was curly. This hair was short and black and wrapped around the meat going further into the sandwich. Unfortunately, my first reaction was to pick it out and throw the hair on the ground, so I did not get a photo of it. Because I did not have proof, I didn't feel it was appropriate to go back in and address it. The customer service was very nice, so it's my best guess that they would have handled it appropriately if it was brought to their attention. Overall (excluding the hair incident), I enjoyed the bread, but I did not feel as though the quality of the sandwich met the price point of what I was charged. If it had more meat and veggies, then I would have been all for it, but $21 for really good bread, is something I will pass on.
