Is it okay that my day is ruined by someone asking whether pastrami is beef or pork? Don't people look anything up anymore?

Pastrami (Romanian: pastramă) is a food originating from Romania usually made from beef brisket. Later recipes use lamb, pork, chicken or turkey. The raw meat is brined, partially dried, seasoned with herbs and spices, then smoked and steamed. Like… Read more

And a personal breakthrough: I used to schlep all the way to Larchmont Cheese & Wine or Bay Cities before beach days for a proper sandwich. Not anymore. I have sandwich geniuses living right down the street. The bread? Exceptional. The cheeses? Dangerous. The meats? I may never recover. And then there's the lemon Italian ice. My daughter and I have been here three times in the last week, shamelessly returning like two neighborhood raccoons with excellent taste. It is the perfect antidote to a scorching Altadena afternoon. This place is an absolute gem. Go for the pasta, stay for the sandwich, leave with three things you didn't know you needed and a strong desire to become Italian.

I've been married to an Italian woman for years and have eaten sandwiches from Little Italy's all over the states to many in Italy as well, so I was definitely interested to order some sandwiches and giving this place a go. This small shop doesn't have much seating, but it does have a counter to sit at as well as a small section of pasta, sauces, drinks, and various other things for you to purchase when you walk in. The menu here isn't massie, but you don't really need it to be at an Italian sandwich shop so who cares? I ended up ordering the Chicken Confit which description is "Our newest sandwich! Dark meat chicken sourced from Cream Co. Meats, confited in olive oil, then tossed it with an orange-Calabrian chili agrodolce spiked with fennel seed and garlic that's bright, deeply savory, a touch spicy, and a little addictive. It all comes together with spicy arugula and tangy pecorino Toscano on a Bub & Grandma's baguette.". The sandwich was about $15 and I gotta say, it's not very big and it didn't really do the job of filling me up and neither did my wife's. The flavour wasn't bad at all, it was solid enough and I don't have any complaints other then It was simply kind of small for the price. Overall, Ferrazzani's Pasta & Market is fine. I didn't leave blown away by anything, and in fact I was left still kind of wanting to eat. The sandwich was fine, but I don't think the amount of food matches the price and I can't really see myself driving back to Pasadena to give this place another go, but hey, this may be the perfect shop for somebody.

Right now, my favorites are the Thai Mango salad and Chimichurri Steak & Bacon sandwich. But, I really miss the Sophisticated Chicken and Prosciutto salad and hope it can come back on the menu. And... include the Mama Chen's Chinese Chicken Salad while they're at it.

It consisted of lettuce, avocado, corn, black beans, jicama, tomatoes, onion, quinoa, krispies, kale, cilantro, and cotija. The lettuce wasn't too fresh and there were some that were yellow green but not a big deal. It was packed with flavor even without the chipotle vinaigrette (relieved I got it on the side because I wasn't s big fan). The avocado was very fresh and plentiful. I added chicken for extra $4.74 and it was very tender! Overall, I enjoyed the salad but a bit pricey so it was a good one time experience! The Chicken Pesto Caprese ($14.10) was pretty good. It consisted of chicken, mozzarella, red peppers, pesto, and mixed greens. The greens were very fresh and the sandwich was packed with flavor. The chicken was a little dry but not a big deal. There was a lot of red pepper and it was a bit overwhelming so I wished there wasn't so much. Really enjoyed the pesto since it it wasn't too salty and was the cherry on top to the sandwich! I also really liked that the bread was soft and fresh. Got the "Not so Fried" Chicken Sandwich ($13.68) - 1/2 portion and it came with a side (paid extra $1.26) for tomato basil soup. It consisted of chicken, krispies, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, onions, and herb aioli. The bread was very fresh and soft. I'm glad I got this in half portion because I thought this was just ok and nothing special. The tomato basil soup was very oily and salty so wasn't too enjoyable. The Pomegranate Mint Lemonade ($5.10) was sooo sweet. It was refreshing but the mint was a little too overpowering. Definitely recommend adding ice and/or water otherwise it's way too sweet! Overall, the sandwich and salads were a bit pricey but definitely one of the better spots for sandwiches and salads in terms of quality and quantity!

There are so many Middle Eastern cafés and restaurants in town, but this one always stood out to me. It is extremely fresh and flavorful they make the food after you order and Service is warm and friendly. The quality has never wavered and trust me, I have eaten here many times. I enjoy their pressed wraps, but especially love the fries. I am picky about fries, but these are always made to order and always just perfect. It has a Middle Eastern seasoning on it which you can opt to leave off. I love them with a dipping sauce of spicy tahini, which they will provide if you ask. You can of course get it non-spicy as well. Their menu can satisfy many different diets including vegetarian/vegan, keto/low carb, pescatarian and meat eaters It's just extremely reliable and high-quality and I plan on continuing to be a regular customer.

We have also enjoyed their foole soup, peppers, baklava, hummus, and garlic sauce. Especially for Old Pasadena, the prices are very reasonable, and a good value with large portions. Unfortunately, our most recent order was not very good. The produce did not seem as fresh, the lavash was drier and falling apart (it didn't have the elasticity that it normally does), the falafel was very dry and flavorless, and the seasoned fries were plain. Some of the small containers of garlic sauce and hummus were also missing. We recognize that even good places have bad days every once in a while. Hopefully it was a one-off, and not an indicator of lower quality or less attention to detail.
