BLT
Katrina D.

My fiancé introduced this place to me several months ago. We had not been in a few months so we decided to head over Sunday after church for brunch. We were greeted as usual and quickly walked to the back to a table. Typically, I order a coffee and water but on Sunday I decided I wanted a Coca-Cola instead. So I ordered a Coca-Cola and was quickly told that they had RC cola only and it was just like Coca-Cola. No, it is not! It's not even close. The waitress then seemed to have an attitude from that point forward, as if I had offended her when I said that RC Cola and Coca-Cola weren't the same. OK moving on, I ordered BLT on toast with crispy bacon. The waitress wrote it down on the ticket as BLT with bread Extra well done. The toast was hard and hard to eat. My Fiance ordered the hamburger steak breakfast combination. The hamburger steak was a frozen beef patty that had onions and mushrooms put on top of it. So no flavor whatsoever. Overall, it was just an OK visit this time. Hopefully, this is not a glimpse into the future of house café, and the downfall of their food and service. It's one of the few Mom and pop restaurants still around! You will definitely notice the difference when you realize that most of the people inside are regulars.

Friendly waitresses. Decent reasonably priced breakfast items. Opens early. Nothing special but if you're in the area and need a quick breakfast then it's a spot to visit.

Migas
Goodness I.

Came here on a Sunday morning with a big party, the wait was only about 15 minutes thankfully. We had to split into two tables of 8. Their policy is that we can't put the tables together unless there are at least 5 people per table, so that was a little odd. The bathrooms are not super great, pretty dirty. The staff was very kind and friendly. It was pretty warm inside, and was asked if the fans could be turned on and were told no. Prices were cheap and the food came out fast and hot! Would come back for the diner feel.

Craving a yummy breakfast taco I did not have to make so House is my neighborhood go to. Nice clean restaurant with friendly staff. Breakfast taco on flour tortillas with egg, cheese, sausage with sour cream and salsa $4.00. Soooo good. Tiki Hubby went for #11 two sausage patties with scrambled eggs.

Tasty taste of Texas.... First time back and Texas and wanted taste of Tex-mex. And they didn't disappoint. I got the migas and wife got the breakfast tacos. Very tasty. Service was quick and great. Ambiance is what you'd expect, good sized diner nothing flashy. But the food came out quick and it was good. Coming back!

Nice and simple spot for what it is. It's sort of like a diner with your typical breakfast omelettes, pancakes, and burgers. The portions are reflective of the price and not bad in comparison to other establishments that would fit in its category. It's a seat yourself style and there wasn't a wait on a Saturday morning, but it was definitely filled with locals. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, and our food came out not long after we ordered. The aesthetics aren't anything crazy, but it is fitting for the diner-like, local spot you'd imagine if you're wanting a simple breakfast.

I recently enjoyed a brunch here with a friend. I discovered a sweet little brunch spot that is inexpensive, clean, with very good service! The menu had a lot to choose from for one low price and plenty of other options as well. As far as cleanliness- we sat in a booth, the seats had even been freshly wiped down as the table was cleaned. I ordered corn beef hash, hash-browns, over medium eggs and biscuits and gravy. I don't know if it's just me or what, but usually when I order over medium eggs the white is completely done and the yolk is still runny. The eggs looked perfect here, but the yolk was not runny at all. They did taste fine. I just usually like my yolk with corn beef Other than that, everything was super. Definitely give this place a try. It's only open for breakfast and lunch though- so plan accordingly!

Ham, hashbrown, scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast, biscuits with gravy, orange juice, water, and coffee.

I can't stand restaurants with carpet! That's the first negative. Thankfully my fiancé and I got to pick where we wanted to sit. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Once we ordered it didn't take long for us to be served. The food was ok.

Finished our delicious breakfast!

My Bride & sister in law brought me to this Mom & Pop Cafe in Garland. They had frequented this place years back, and decided to give it a shot after Church. Greeted. Seated promptly. Friendly staff, good selection of Breakfast & Lunch as well priced reasonably. Food tasty & fresh with good portions. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit & would Highly recommend!

I decided to try their newest one in Richardson...and so glad I did. As soon as you enter, there is a great vibe...very sleek, neat & clean. Our server, David was very friendly and took good care of us...kept my coffee cup full...which BTW was very tasty... I am a coffee snob. We had the angel cloud pancakes and the Monte Cristo sandwich...both delicious...and the pancake portion was HUGE! This is only about 15 minutes from the house so will definitely be back!

The menu had a lot of variety and the prices were reasonable. Service was good. The inside was extremely loud and it was very difficult to talk. Constantly had to ask friends to repeat themselves. Even later when half full, it was still loud. I got the chicken and waffles. It was good. Chicken cooked well and came with a small bowl of gravy. There was also syrup on the table to use as you wanted. It was good and I licked my plate. Others in my group got the Elvis-yes he was still in the building. Others is got the pancakes and tofu. Everyone liked what they got and ate most of it. Probably would go back at a different time of day but definitely not during the lunch hour. Friend said there other locations are not as noisy.

Our appetizer arrived lukewarm and was served at the same time as our main dishes, despite being ordered with drinks. The waitstaff seemed to neglect checking in on us; our coffee carafe was empty for quite some time, as were our water glasses. To make matters worse, our plates were not cleared after we finished eating, which only added to the feeling of being forgotten. I ordered the Trifecta with a carrot cake pancake, expecting something special, but it turned out to be just a basic pancake with carrots, raisins, and nuts added. It lacked the unique flavors and creativity I had hoped for, making it not worth the trip or the money. To top it off, the table across from us sent back an order. As one partner finished eating, the other's new dish arrived. This just added to the sense of disorganization in the restaurant. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning to this First Watch location anytime soon. There are plenty of other brunch spots that offer better service and more memorable meals.

It was enough to share for two or a hearty meal for one. The bread is soft and airy with a dense matter that worked well to pair with the food. The latte was good and extremely hot so be careful when drinking! It was less flavorful than other places, but still good. Note that this restaurant is in a busy strip mall with many other shops and there's plenty of parking although could be busy around meal times. Also, the restaurant is noticeable not pristine clean as there are small stains on table mats and some tables and chairs had crumbs. So if that is an issue for you, you may want to do to-go or look carefully for a clean table. Otherwise, it's a great place to enjoy a meal and cup of coffee. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous for the pricing.
