Hello yelpers, I am writing this as the processes. Corrin our waitress is very pleasant. The menu is online, open the camera app, point to the url code, and there it is. We ordered a round of drinks. 3 gin and tonic and 1 vodka seltzer. The view is totally amazing! We ordered 2 crab Basques, 2 fried calamari appetizers. Dinner we are ordering the roast duck, 2 ordered and 2 orders of the crustaceans pot pie, which sounds amazing. Our soups came. They were very creamy and full of flavor served in a nice bowl portion, delicious. The fried calamari was so delicious, tender served with a marinara and and amazing garlic alioli. The dinner is served. Our ducks were delicious with a nice crusty skin. The marshmallow sauce was a brown sauce with a nice marshmallow flavor. The dirty rice was was very aromatic. Our wives had the crustacous pot pie. At first glance, I thought it was kind of small, but it was creamy, delicious and very filling. It had a nice array of seafood, shrimp, lobster and scallops. The Stay: Quite Nice. Very Clean. The Experience: Amazing views. We got the room with porch access to the water. Was a great way to wake up and spend the morning after our wedding. Pack thoroughly. Bring water bottles. There's nothing there except tap and there's no "front desk" to get any necessities. P.S. Shares a parking lot with Amalfi. Amalfi has THE RUDEST parking valets. Separate entities and not related to The Inn Spot -- to get to The Inn Spot, you have to walk between the restaurant and the hedges. read more

This review is about the bungalow at the Inn Spot Hampton Bays -The Restaurant was not operating when we were there. First - Julia S is CORRECT about some sort of animal living in the walls or walking through them at all hours of the night. This review is for the motel/bungalows. There is no "customer service" here. No one to ask for extra towels. No one to ask for instructions for checking in. We called the general phone number 10 times on the date of our arrival to let them know we would be arriving past 9 and to see if there was anything needed to get into the room as we were not emailed any instructions. No answer. Even worse- there is an animal that lives on top of the bungalow making noises and scratching the roof. Frightening. Didn't sleep at all. I was Scared to open the door. Told them about the animal and they brushed it off. No comp or anything to address this.I can't imagine they do not know about this. Every time we've been here the food was as great as the setting. Not sure why some reviews are so bad. Maybe they own restaurants that are in competition with this one? We have stayed at the Inn Spot because they had sweet little cabins where we could stay with our goofy, beloved, big dog. We've sat in the porch for a sunset dinner at the restaurant, looking out over the water. Beautiful. We had great seafood dinners here, on several occasions. read more

What is going on here? This place could be the absolute best spot in Hampton Bays. They just need to pay more attention to details. The food is still very good, but this places lacks ambiance and a positive vibe. Looks like the owners are giving up. Sitting on a potential goldmine with some TLC. No reason this places should be practically empty on a weekend night in the summer. Here are a list of some simple, inexpensive fixes. 1. Stain the shingles and paint the the outside decking. 2. Put some white tablecloths on the outdoor tables! 3. Buy a Bluetooth speaker and have some ambient music playing. 4. Remove the old hedges from the back of the deck so you can see the nice lawn leading to the water. 5. Freshen up the front landscaping. Show you care. Overall, I will be returning as the food is good, but I hope they fix some of the minor details that are keeping them down. read more

Ambience: A+ Cleanliness: A Customer Service: A+ Food: B+ Price -It is mighty pricey for tiny portions but that is sort of a norm when you got out to dine out in the Hamptons. Atmosphere -I went at night so I wasn't able to really see the ocean, by my table did have a good view of it. I imagine this place would be utterly breath taking during the day but it was certainly very pretty at night regardless. It is small, but not cramped, and has a real home town feel to it. Very nice! Customer Service Not only was our waiter very attentive, but the owner/manger was also constantly making rounds in order to make sure we were well taken care of. Very friendly staff indeed! Food My first course left a little to be desired. I had turkey soup which was somehow bland and salty all at the same time. The waiter replaced it with salad which was basically lettece and dressing which wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about either. The main course however was VERY good. The portion size left something to be desired, but I ordered ham and mashed potatoes which were mouth watering. I also had a bit of my dad's roast beef which was EVERYTHING; perfectly sliced and juicy. Dessert was yummy as well! The owner said it was all made in house which was no surprise because it was super fresh, Overall I'll be back! This place is a disappointment. What an amazing setting. But nothing else matches. Food is meh. Kinda bland. Small portions. Expensive. No kids menu or kids food. So much potential and so disappointing. Hampton Bays is stepping up with some pretty fantastic restaurants like Rumba and Cowfish and this place is not living up to new standards. Went back a second time. I mean it's one of the most beautiful spots in the Hamptons on the water. Such a disappointment. The main dining room is cold and austere. The service is friendly but they started by asking what water we wanted and didn't come back for 10 minutes for either a drink order or drink/food order. Food just ok. We sat wit emply plates and had a hard time flagging someone down to clear and get the bill. Room was cold and while they offered blankets who wants to sit and eat with blankets ! Warm it up. Vanilla beans from Madagascar in the homeade vanilla ice cream.. etc.. Neat little place.. with neat little plates of well prepared food. Nothing outlandish.. but lots of little extra flavors..... like pistachio ice cream.. homemade.. Martinis by the book. The measure them just so.. precisely.. I think I had a chocolate martini.. yum.. The inn keeper is a woman who is quite friendly and runs a tight ship. The views are ok.. slight water view not much of a view... but right on the bay. Mediocre food everytime we go. The front of house staff is always rude, and rushing their patrons (even though the place is always empty.) This was our last stop in Hamptons. We stopped here for brunch. I simply loved the place, the food and the views. Food: We ordered omelettes which were more than good potion size. The food was absolutely delicious. We also converted our brunch to a boozy brunch. The weather was just calling for it. Service: The host was kind enough to give us some warm blankets so that we can sit outside and enjoy the ocean views. Ambience: They have seating inside and outside. Its the inn's restaurant so its small and cute. They have outdoor seating in the grass with amazing views of the ocean.Very quiet, calm and relaxed. This was the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. The food was awful. Frozen fake seafood with crap ingredients In multiple of the dishes on our table. Lawyer Dublin was supposed to be lobster and crab chunks cooked in sherry with a hint of cream. Reality was it was a few pieces of frozen shrimp cooked in canned Alfredo sauce. The service attitude was heinous- forgot things and then blamed the table. The server spilled a drink on our table and didn't deal with it until reminded twice and then snapped at us and then blamed the bus girl for silverware issues. We paid the check and got up to leave and the server came running after us to make sure we paid the check. If I had the option of not paying for the crap meal and experience I would, but we had in fact paid and now I leave with a bad taste from food and experience. read more

I just went there this past weekend for the vegan price fixed dinner. We absolutely LOVED the food! Would definitely come back for the food! The ONLY problem was the service. There was one waitress who was also the only bartender. She was great and really nice but it was so busy. There were a ton of people waiting to be seated and who were also waiting for drinks at the bar. There was another woman who looked like one of the chefs that came out to help taking orders because it got so busy. Hope they offer this menu again soon but with a couple of more waiters and especially a bartender! read more

We had a delicious dinner prepared by Colette. Nancy serves a whopper of a Bloody Mary and took the sweetest pic of us at sunset set (shell try to sell you a bridge :) ) and Corinne was the best waitress. Thank you ladies. Collette was extremely accommodating with getting us bigger room fr my family in such short notice. Stayed in the main building the Shinnecock room & Everything abt it was perfect. Bed & daybed were comfortable to sleep on. The food truck n live music was a blast ( wed nite) The view & atmosphere was perfect . Enjoyed the bay breeze that was coming in. My brother & nephew enjoyed the jet ski rental next door. Dinner was delish. Highly recommend shrimp curry! Will definitely be back & will stay in one of the villas. Happy Summer! read more

I have eaten here before and the food and service were good enough. The location on the bay is great. But I ate here recently and the service, while polite and cordial, was inattentive. And the food was absolutely bland. What a disappointment. After posting this, I have been reading through the reviews, and more importantly, the replies. All of the replies from management are the same. Stock, cut and paste. Same as the inattentive service provided and the tasteless food. Place has a great view. The house freshly made bread was good. The only thing that was good. The crab bisque is more like a crab dip made with imitation crab and a whole stick of butter. The seafood pot pie is made with imitation lobster and frozen seafood in a very sweet buttery sauce. Not worth $34! The Dublin lawyer has no crabs in it and 4 baby frozen shrimp, for $16. Don't recommend any seafood dishes. Is all cheap frozen and imitation seafood. Stay away. Service was also terrible, and they got upset when we asked for utensils, napkins and water. Top Spot on Long Island For Rudeness and Arrogance! Five years in a row for Mothers Day breakfast with my children and today was the last. If you're lookkng for rudeness from management, inflexibility, haughtiness and an overpriced menu with nothing special and (God forbid) substitutions, a disappearing wait staff, and a sneer for children then look no further. This was a very disappointing experience, having eaten here a number of times. Got a last minute table for 6 on a Saturday night, we were only people in the interior room, although outdoor tables were full. Took at least 20 minutes to get menus. I had to ask about specials- waitress said "oh yeah- forgot to tell you). My friend did not like her appetizer and the hostess just asked if she was done with it- didn't even inquire if something was wrong with uneaten dish. Same for the salad my other friend ordered. A full plate was left (there was hardly any dressing on it). She just took it away. They never came to table to see how we were doing. The once fabulous lobster pot pie is now a crustacean pot pie. My husband was so disappointed. Same price but hardly any lobster in there. It had been such a special dish! They couldn't have cared less about our dining experience. Bill totaled over $300 and - this is a first!- charged $1 to each credit card for splitting the bill 3 ways. Really? $300 bill and you add a surcharge for splitting it? BE WARNED: We are coming back from a laughably horrible Mother's Day brunch at the Inn Spot. After waiting a half hour for our table that we reserved a month ago, we waited another half hour for our food to arrive after placing our order. All would be forgiven if the food were good, but.... Highlights: The smoked salmon on my Eggs Atlantique was stale and fishy and the hollandaise was COLD! The Kobe beef burger was clearly frozen and looked like a hockey puck. My son was nauseated from the aftertaste. The banana pancakes were dry, hard and tasteless. The chickpea burger was... Ugh. I hate writing negative reviews, as my other reviews will show. The most beautiful spot to eat, overlooking the lawn and bay. The owner/chefs and servers are lovely and the service is excellent. Cocktails are perfectly balanced. I had the crab bisque, which was nice and the tuna was amazing. My husband had the "chocolate" salad, which was very good. Do not miss the desserts, especially the mousse and the waffles with cannoli cream, and delicious pear brandy. Overall, one of three most gorgeous and pleasant spots to eat in the Hamptons. I've wanted to dine at the Inn Spot for a long time and thought yesterday would be a great opportunity, given the reasonably-priced Mother's Day brunch menu the restaurant posted on facebook. I was SO disappointed with the food and the staff's disorganized and inattentive service skills. First, we tried to make reservations in advance (for 3) but were told they didn't take reservations for parties of fewer than 6. We went to the restaurant and a man told us the wait would be "10-15 minutes." Yet right after we arrived, a family of 4 arrived and told the host they had a reservation for 1:00! We were shuffled off to the bar and left to wait for at least 30 minutes - far longer than the estimated time we had been given. The party of 4 who arrived after us was seated after a couple of minutes. The same man who told us "10-15 minutes" had given the same time estimate to another party of 3 who was also waiting in the bar, and they got really agitated (after waiting a long time, they said) when the host couldn't remember which party was next. We both waited at least 30 minutes. The food was uneven. The server told us they ran out of sweet potato home fries, but she just ended the sentence without telling us what the chef proposed to put on the plate instead. I had to ask! When the plate arrived, the (Idaho) potato home fries were undercooked by at least a few minutes. They were not good. The hollandaise sauce on the $15 Eggs Benedict was good, however. Our son got the $18 Kobe beef burger; I had a bite and his burger was especially disappointing. The flavor was odd and bland at the same time. They put cheese on the burger even though there was no indication on the menu that it was a cheeseburger (the menu offered a hamburger). The final comments are about the service, which was disappointing. Our server was mostly inattentive other than taking our order and bringing the check. That's surprising for a restaurant of the Inn Spot's reputation. A couple of other staffers brought us refills on our water, but no one asked about the food or whether we would like anything. We had to ask for everything we needed. None of the staffers seem to know whether the restaurant gives soda refills; apparently we are the first customers to ever ask that question. (The answer, fellow Yelpers, is NO: You will pay another $3.50 if you want 8 more ounces of your carbonated beverage of choice.) I wanted so much to love this place. As it stands, I can cook a better brunch at home for a lot less money, so we won't be rushing back. The pity is, it was Mother's Day, and I really wanted the treat of a nice meal out. Maybe some diners got it, but after spending $66 at the Inn Spot yesterday, we were not among those lucky few. read more

AWFUL. Lobster roll is made with fake crab meat and cold potato roll. No garnish, no fries. Not one bit of real lobster in the roll. How do you sell a lobster roll without lobster meat in it?? Same goes for the crustacean pot pie. 4 shrimp and fake crab meat instead of lobster. Bland and just not worth $32. The lobster mac and cheese- ditto. This is the Hamptons, people! Who cooks with fake crab meat anymore? The spot is gorgeous, the service is adequate, they do try and it is not their fault the food is just god awful. Shirley Temple is $7. Yes. SEVEN dollars for a glass of gingerale with some grenadine. The portions are small, the ingredients questionable, seems as if chef Boyardee is cooking in the kitchen. Shame. I really wanted to like this place,we stayed at the inn over night and liked the fact the restaurant was down stairs.we were one of only three couples dining that night a 10 minute wait for water and the restaurant version of bread is excessive. I had ordered the fried chicken our waitress referred to it as cooking 101. The chicken was stringy and tasteless. The cream spinach had hot spots like it was microwaved. My girlfriend ordered a sea food dish equally disappointing. We opted to not stay for desert since the espresso machine was out of order and they were waiting for a part for 2 weeks. read more

I sort of stumbled upon this place by looking for restaurants on the water in a very general area. Wow was I happy I came. We showed up (party of 2) without a reservation around 7:30 and only waited about 15 minutes for a table. The tiny bar area is very quaint and the bartender friendly. Once we were seated, outside, limit server was very nice and helpful. The chef (who is also the owner) came to our table as well to answer questions about the menu. The food was outstanding. The dinner menu was fabulous. I had a cream of crab and a pork dish, and I really enjoyed them both. They have a really nice outdoor sitting area with a wonderful view of the Bay. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is because their breakfast menu is not as great. Since my in-laws were staying here we had both breakfast at dinner at their restaurant, and I definitely recommend the dinner menu. The breakfast is ok, but nothing to die for. read more

If I could give this spot zero stars, I probably would. We went here for breakfast on Sunday and could not believe what an epic fail this was. The only thing going for this place is it's location and beautiful view. Our waitress was new and in training, however, no one was with her. She kept telling us she is training, however, she was not the problem with our experience. Except for the fact that our food was served and she never came back to the table - not even to collect the bill.They also did not have enough menus for a table of four!! There were only a handful of other guests in the dining room, so I am not sure where all their menus were. The menu had different kinds of iced tea listed - black, green, etc, however when ordering my iced tea she said she wasn't sure that they had iced tea. But she would check and if they didn't have any, she would brew some hot tea and put it over ice for me. What's the point of having all these nice tea offerings if they aren't available? We were a party of four. We ordered two omelets and two orders of pancakes. The pancakes were VERY well done, but the men ate them anyway. My mother-in-law ate a few bites of her omelette, however, my omelette was not even edible and neither were our sides of home fries. The only options for toast were white or whole grain. The toast was hard, stone cold, with a smear of cold butter. The home fries were very pale / almost translucent and tasted like cooking spray. There were no seasonings at all - just underdone potatoes that tasted like PAM. My omelette (onions, peppers, picante sauce, and avocado with jack cheese) had a very funny color. The top was brown like it was burnt but the inside was stone cold, however, the cheese was melted. There was NO flavor to the eggs and the picante sauce looked like jarred Tostito's salsa .. gross. To top it off, after biting into the egg part of the omelet - the whole bite tasted again like PAM cooking spray or some kind of oil. There was no way I could possibly eat around that. Gross gross gross. The waitress never came to check on us, other wise she may have noticed that we were not touching our eggs or hash browns. My husband's order of hash browns never came to the table. When he asked the server for them, we were told that they don't serve hash browns (even though he ordered them). When a woman came over to clear our plates (she may have been the owner), she noticed that I did not touch my breakfast. She asked me if I didn't like it and I said no. She asked why and I told her the whole plate tasted like oil. She proceeded to correct me in saying, "That's funny because we don't use oil". I told her perhaps it was cooking spray and she just shook her head and said she would take it off the bill. With tip, our bill was over $100! For three breakfasts??!! (Mine was excluded from the meal). This place is a rip off and serves food that you cannot eat! I see that there are rave reviews for their lunches and dinners but I can't see how this could be possible. How do you mess up eggs and home fries so badly but have rave reviews for seafood and more complicated dishes? Is it possible that this establishment has been taken over by new management or a new chef? We were all very disappointed because we are always looking for new places to try. Because it had such a great view, we really wanted to love this place and make it one of our regular spots. Anyone have any suggestions for good breakfast in the area????? read more

The location and people couldn't have been more beautiful and welcoming. What the rooms lacked in luxury the location and price more than make up for it. Ask Bill at the bar about the nightclubs he owned and operated in the 80s and 90s. IM AN IDIOT. A TOTAL DOLT! Ive lived down the road from this little gem of a restaurant for 9 years and ive never been. Now, THEY ARE STUCK WITH ME!...... One of the best meals Ive had in years! Yes, great view and a lovely little in set right on the edge of Tiana Bay, excellent and cordial service but people listen to me - THE FOOD WAS COMPLETELY OFF THE HOOK!!!! Flash fried tapioca served with hoisin in place of bread was a real hit. Fried oysters in croissant batter with an excellent remoulade was terrific, Black and blue sesame tuna as sushi grade and was done perfectly but was blew me out of the water was the Perfectly roasted duck with a marshmallow glaze. Is there anything bad in that sentence? Nope! I ate everything on the plate. Clean. Arguably the best duck ive ever had and thats coming from someone who remembers my first duck l'orange (1978 at the red bank yacht club in new jersey - for the record). And this duck made me quack like crazy!!! This is an inventive and sophisticated kitchen without being pretentious on any level! Thats a tough combination!. Ill be back there next weekend ready for their chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and country gravy. After that, their pot pie with lobster, shrimps and scallops. (Yes, I memorized their menu after reading it once!). They even went out a bought a smoker truck and I think they mentioned that there was an upcoming "duck night" - 7 courses each based on duck! Im sorry, but Ill now be checking my emails on a daily basis waiting for the date announcement!
