Keep Cafe on Convoy is such a gem! I love the aesthetic they've built here; it's bright, clean, and just feels really welcoming. The staff is so helpful and kind, which I really appreciated. I treated myself to the Keep Latte and their famous cream cheesy garlic bun, and they did not disappoint. The bun was incredibly yummy, and everything tasted so fresh. It's honestly the perfect little spot for a relaxing afternoon pick-me-up. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for something tasty in a great space.
I stopped in for some matcha and girrrrrrl. It was so good!! The strawberry cold foam is probably the best I've ever had. 10/10, no notes. I'll definitely be back!!
Got the Keep Joy (strawberry matcha) and Keep Dance Matcha (coconut + spirulina matcha)!! Honestly was a little disappointed with Keep Joy. I think there was too much cream to matcha ratio; it honestly tasted like I was drinking milk HOWEVER, Keep Dance Matcha was *chefs kiss* It was so sweet, creamy, coconutty, and matchay!!! There's a Keep Dance Coffee too, I'd want to try that next time if it's not a seasonal item! The drinks came out super quickly and I love the mismatched furniture! A fan of this quirky interior!
One of the newer coffee shops in Kearny Mesa, I remember seeing the "hype" of it on social media. Tried it today for the first time and it does not live up to the hype. $8-$9 lattes? No thanks, don't care how good it tastes, I refuse to pay that much for a latte. Service and atmosphere was good, but that's about it. I opted for a more basic drink, an americano. 12 Oz comes with a double shot and 16 oz comes with a triple and I must say, the coffee doesn't pack a punch and is weak. They had three different beans to choose from, which was nice, but I wish the coffee was less watered down. More cons than pros here in my opinion. Cons: Parking sucks, expensive drinks, weak watered down coffee. Pros: good service, nice atmosphere. Not enough for me to come back, I wouldn't recommend.
I got the Keep Joy drink which is a strawberry matcha latte with a biscoff cookie. The drink was weirdly very dense and creamy..... I would not recommend it. The matcha flavor was nonexistent. The price tag was an astronomical $9.48 and there is also an additional charge if you want to substitute whole milk.
Was looking for a place to lay low before my next event -- this spot seemed pretty cool. Here was my experience. AMBIANCE Parking: Plaza and street parking available. Seating: Indoor seating with a mix of styles -- good for groups or solo visitors. Probably room for about 30-40 people. Vibes: Welcome to Convoy! Tons of eateries and coffee shops nearby, and sometimes even community events happening around the area. The space itself is spacious and low-key, with clean light wood accents and seasonal décor. I appreciated the Olivia Dean soundtrack playing in the background -- added to the chill energy. Great natural lighting makes it a solid study or social spot. FOOD/DRINKS Keep Coffee Matcha Latte (Recommend): Their signature "cloud" (sweet marshmallow foam) is a fun touch. The matcha delivered that classic earthy flavor, and the cloud added a creamy sweetness that balanced it nicely. Not overly sugary -- just smooth and enjoyable. SERVICE Great service -- friendly staff and my order came out quickly. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Wonderful. Good flavors, solid pricing, and a comfortable environment. Convoy has no shortage of coffee shops, but this one stands out for its charm -- spacious, friendly, and productivity-friendly. it was okay coffee. limited parking, also note that you will have to pay for parking. Coffee were pretty. taste was okay. small room, limited seating that was quick to be filled in by kids reviewing. service was okay. since students stay longer the place and floor gets icky. needs a little clean up.
Yummy coffee! Had the keep latte and the strawberry matcha. Come here if you like sweet, fun drinks. The cold foam was nice. Staff were super kind and our drinks were made with care. Would come back!
It's was $9 for a cup of milk. They put some sort of cream topping but it's not necessary with how milk heavy this drink is. I read somewhere that it's 4 shot but I don't think that's true. The tai tea was even worse at least when we got home we could add more coffee to the cup of milk they call a latte. I like sweet and milky coffee but this was very disappointing.
We'd heard great things about this place and decided to give it a try, so glad we did. We ordered the Keep Matcha and the Keep Latte (without syrup), and both tasted incredibly fresh, vibrant, and fun. You can really tell they care about the quality of their ingredients and how the drinks are crafted. The place has a great vibe going, and it's clear they're serving their customers really well. It's a bit on the pricier side, though. Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a quality coffee experience.
An interesting and fairly new coffee shop and hangout in Kearny Mesa near the intersection of Convoy and Clairemont Mesa. It's right next to O Zone Billiards. The interior is really spacious and minimalistic, with a grand piano in the center of the room, plenty of seating, and lots of electrical outlets to boot. Strangely enough, I had a kind of reverse experience here. Usually, I find that coffee shops tend to mask the lower quality (or burntness) of their beans through their fancier espresso drinks. At The Keep, the straight Supernova espresso shot was absolutely delicious and super high-quality. On the other hand, the latte was overly milky, to the point that I couldn't taste the Ethiopian espresso at all. I think they need to balance the milk and additives in their drinks to help make their very tasty beans shine. I'll have to come back sometime soon to try another drink and a pastry so I have a more well-rounded understanding of The Keep's offerings. It sure seems like people love it--the place was packed and my latte took about 15 minutes to make. Update: My second visit to The Keep bumped the cafe from 4/5 to 5/5. This go around, I ordered the Ethiopian espresso I first tried in the latte my first visit. It was delicious! The roasts they're using are incredible. I like the Supernova a bit more due to the citrus notes, but this one was solid as well. I also had a cortado with Brazilian beans. It was really good too. Finally, I tried a pastry, opting for the chocolate croissant. They heated it up for me and it was super flavorful and flaky. I have a feeling this place got stars knocked off from being so hyped up and busy during its opening months, which likely led to a pace of business that was extremely difficult to serve consistently. Now that they're in the swing of things, I can confidently say it's in my top 10 coffee shops in San Diego county.
This is a cute little coffee shop offering creative and unique drinks that put a twist on traditional coffee offerings. Their sweet cream that goes on-top of their drinks is great and the space is peaceful and spacious offering many areas to sit and enjoy your drink or to work from. The staff is friendly and effect and we had a very little wait for our drinks despite the amount of people present. Parking is interesting but don't let it discourage you from this quaint off the beaten path stop. The coffee itself was good, perhaps a bit bitter and acidic but mixed in the drinks it offers a nice balance for the tasty iced and hot options. I look forward to coming back and trying the bean specific options to get a better grasp on the flavor profile of each of their roasted bean options.
The foam is so decadent and delicious. Make sure you mix it well into your coffee first, otherwise your coffee will go too quick and you're sitting there sad because you just have a cup of delicious, thick foam on top of ice. The Keep Adore tastes like Neapolitan ice cream but if you prefer a creamy, slightly sweet coffee get the Keep Latte. Note for parking: they have 4-5 dedicated spaces in their parking lot. Apparently you're not allowed to use the adjacent parking lot so if their dedicated spaces are used, you'll have to find street parking.

Awesome coffee shop in convoy area. I popped in here on a Tuesday around 11:30 and it was pretty busy inside with only a few seats open. Seems to be a pretty popular place to chill and work from. I found the menu to be a bit confusing with the names of the drinks and many having very similar ingredients so I had to ask a few questions. I chilled here for a few hours and ended up trying two different drinks. The first one I don't remember the name of it but it was an espresso with pistachio and a black sesame foam. The drink is on the smaller side but was so tasty. Every flavor stood out and yet was balanced at the same time. Really nice espresso. The second drink was keep matcha. I still don't fully understand how this was different than other matcha drinks but it was definitely on the creamer side and had whipped cream on top. Fairly sweet for matcha but not overly slow. Matcha was a deep green color and flavorful but a bit lost in all the cream. They have multiple different single origin coffees and have them in different grinders which is also a nice touch. I imagine they've got pretty good pour over here too. Definitely a top spot for both coffee and matcha drinks if you're in the convoy area! read more

Whenever you see a spot that keeps coming up on matchatok or instagram, you have to wonder if it's just because the drinks are instaworthy or if they actually taste good. Can confirm- they are good...really good! You have to brave parking to check it out. Most of the parking spots in front of the shop are for the liquor store or milk tea next door, so you're better off finding street parking. They also have some parking around the back corner. The space also gets very busy. It's a super popular cafe for doing work or hanging out, so the energy is lively but often very crowded! They have a great variety of matcha drinks and all different varieties. My husband got the Keep Matcha, which comes with whipped cream on the top. I got the Black Sesame Matcha, which was soo good. They also had a strawberry matcha with a little biscotti cookie on top. The matcha is sweet, but Japanese sweet, where it isn't overpowering or too sugary. It had a great taste and was absolutely delicious! In addition to the matcha, they have coffee drinks and some great pastries. I got the garlic cream cheese bun and it was so unique and tasty! It was garlicy and savory but filled with a sweet cream cheese and warmed up perfectly. This coffee shop is more than aesthetic drinks. They taste absolutely delicious and I'd gladly make the trek again to get one! read more
The Keep X was really good. It's been awhile since I've tried a good iced black sesame latte and this one didn't disappoint. The Keep Matcha was good but it didn't really taste like anything special. If you're looking for a good Black Sesame Latte then I'd recommend checking them out. read more

Keep x and keep joy both really good. The x is a triple espresso with caramel. Basically is a caramel drink with a savory black sesame foam on top. Just thr drink along without the foam super good. Strawberry matcha is more like a strawberry cream drink, not much matcha flavor. Quick service and they give you a buzzer for the drink. Good place to study and a lot of seating, cool decor read more

Love you guys! But charging a whole $1 for oat milk is kinda crazy.... Is it at least organic, and GF? did not know that until the cashier told me and I don't think it's displayed anywhere either. The internet is also very slow. Hard to get work done if you need internet. First time trying the KEEP latte and it's amazing. Perfect amount of espresso. Not happy about paying 9.70 for a regular size latte though with the $1 up charge. read more

Came here after seeing tiktok recs, and it fulfilled expectations! I wanted to try something more unique so I ordered the black sesame latte. Although the sesame flavor wasn't the strongest, the drink was absolutely delicious and the perfect caffeine boost. The strawberry matcha was okay (even though it was the prettiest drink), and the einspanner was yum too. The interior is clean, and has a nice area to study (quiet too). Service was nice and quick, the cafe wasn't too busy when we were there. Would definitely come again to try the black sesame or yuzu match. Recommend a visit! read more
A cute open space with simplicity and retro feel. Lots of seating room where you can relax and chat up with a friend or if you need to do some work or studying. They have wifi too, just ask for the password. I came for the garlic cheese bagel that people rave about. I hear it sells out in the morning. Good thing I was here right when they opened. It was not a bagel consistency but it can be a bit dense but softer than a bagel. Very garlicky and digging the cream cheese. Then again... I love anything cheese. It looked like it was lightly glazed on the outside and has a shine tint to it. The lady that helped me was very nice. Told me she needs to heat it up and it takes about 5 minutes. I also ordered the Keep Joy (whole milk, housemade whip, matcha, strawberries, and a biscoff cookie on top). I think it is part of their spring series. The drink was pretty and looked very rich and creamy. And when I drank it... it really was. I have to be in the mood for a drink like this. The matcha was a light earthy taste. The strawberries on the bottom gives it a hint of brightness, sweet, and tart to the drink. The whip was a creamy dream. Wished that there was a stronger matcha flavor because of the milk and housemade whip overpowered it a bit. Loved the cookie on top for a different texture to the drink and like an added bonus/treat. They do have milk alternatives, but I think the whip does contain dairy, so be careful for those who have a sensitive stomach (lactose intolerant). Parking can be difficult because it's a small shared lot. read more
Another great cafe spot! Keeps has such good matcha and not to mention their pastry section is just as delicious! All of the staff are so friendly and helpful when questions arise. There's a lot of seats to choose from and the decorations/interior design is super unique as well. I love getting the Keep Joy which is a strawberry matcha with a little lotus biscoff cookie! The Keep drinks with the house made whip are more like dessert drinks. The whip was very thick and I used a spoon to eat it. The Keep Joy (strawberry/matcha/whip) was sweet, rich, and creamy. It made me full. The interior is pretty and the color scheme was calming. However, there were a lot of people on the weekend and I felt like there was barely enough seating. This cafe would probably be a better study spot during the weekdays. read more
The drinks here are purely aesthetic, with very little flavor besides sugar. I ordered the keep matcha, which was essentially a matcha einspanner. After substituting for oat milk, it came out to be over $9, and the drink was basically just a sweetened milk, with very little matcha flavor. It was quite disappointing, as the drinks looked very appetizing. The cashier was friendly and there was plenty of seating to hang out with friends, but I definitely would not recommend it for the drinks. read more
I was influenced! I came to the keep coffee after I saw it on TikTok and Instagram. I do think that all of their coffee and overall aesthetic is very pleasing. They are very creative with their drinks, and they are very good too, on the sweet side, so be prepared for a sugar rush. Parking was a bit tough, and the inside felt a bit rundown, although doesn't change the quality of their coffee. I did get the garlic stuffed bagel, and it was very interesting with the sweet and garlic flavors. I would love to try other things on their menu. read more
I don't understand why this place is rated anything below 4 stars. The staff was incredibly friendly, and for a weekday, it was pretty full with people studying and working. They do have a large communal table which is great for work, but most of the other tables are quite low and small--definitely something that could be improved. I had a latte that was really good and also tried the viral cream cheese garlic bun, which was unique, different, and delicious. Parking, however, is a bit of a hassle--paid options or street parking a block away. Overall, I'd still recommend it! read more
I recently just started getting into matcha, so I wanted to check this place out. They have such a great variety of drinks that it was almost impossible to choose just one, so I ended up getting three lol! I tried the Keep Matcha, Keep Joy, and the Keep Thai Tea. All of them were really good. They were not too sweet, not bland at all, just perfectly balanced and tasty. The service was super kind, and the shop itself was clean and aesthetic. I'll definitely come back if I'm ever in San Diego again! My favorite was definitely just the regular matcha keep. read more

Trendy coffee shop/matcha shop in Convoy! Best known for their Keep Matcha. Street parking only. Extremely challenging, do NOT park in the deli or spa spots, they will tow. They also have signs outside the Billards/Kung Fu/gun shop parking lot saying they'll tow. Helpful barista! I wanted coffee but everyone around me had matcha and she assured me the coffee was as good and as popular as the matcha. I got the Keep Coffee and it was really good, 3 shots of espresso and heavy cream on top. I appreciate it wasn't pre sweetened. If you're looking for a place to work, I think it's too loud, from the music and ambient noise, but many people were working here and they do have a good amount of seating and wifi. Overall I would come back to try the matcha and get coffee again, but the parking situation is definitely what would hold me back. read more

It's flavorful and it's not overly sweet. the cream combined with the biscoff is amazing. service is always quick and friendly. inside is very spacious with many seating tables. it's clean and it seems like a study spot as well. definitely coming back again! read more
The cafe was nice and roomy, but the drinks itself were very underwhelming. In both drinks, the milk overpowered the matcha/thai tea flavor. The cream top was great, but that was the only good thing about the drink. You can also see in the picture that the matcha fills about half the cup, while the cream top fills up the rest. Servers were nice, but the drinks aren't good enough for me to come back. read more

Not my favorite. I love exploring local coffee shops and am currently making my way through the scene San Diego. The Keep Coffee was popping up all over my socials- their einspanner drinks absolutely blew up! (Fun fact: I believe they're the first in the area to serve them?) This super cute concept also turns into Aree after hours- a late night Thai cafe serving up sweet treats. The interior is very hipster LA vibes. They have a range of really low furniture which looks nice, but is kind of awkward to sit in. Perfectly adheres to this cafe archetype, but would love for more proper tables to be incorporated into the space- not just the ones squished in the back. It wasn't the most optimal space to get productive. During my particular visit, I wasn't really in the mood for anything coffee or matcha, so the cashier recommended Irene. This is described as a plum peach soda topped with fresh fruits. Presentation? 10/10. Was absolutely blown away by how pretty it was! It reminded me of a fancy mocktail. Taste? Mehhh. It was alright- nothing too crazy to write home about. I don't think it's the most well balanced drink. The plum flavor was really all I got and it teetered a bit on being too overwhelming and concentrated. read more

Got some garlic cream cheese buns and the keep matcha - I must say that the garlic cream cheese buns are the most addicting ever. They were so crisp and garlicky on the outside and super creamy and soft inside. The cream cheese is on the sweeter side but complements super well. On the other hand, the keep matcha had an almondy/hazelnut flavor which didnt pair well with matcha. The proportion of cream to latte is also extremely off, too much cream for a bit of latte. Theres no parking btw, so prepare to drive around for a bit. read more

We had: Keep Coffee Keep Thai Tea Cheesy Garlic Bun The Good: Generous cream toppings on the drinks which are not too sweet. Dominant coffee flavor and really steeped tea essence. Cheesy bun had a great balance of sweetness and savory flavors. Bun was reheated for to go order which kept its crispness. Staff was very helpful in explaining menu. The Bad: Parking is extremely challenging. Very few disabled spots which are often taken. Parking on the other side of the buidling involves a fee. Regular spots are also arduous to find. read more

It's tough to see so many low-star reviews for a small, family-run business. The parking just south of the store is technically private parking, so any ticket you receive there isn't legally binding - you don't have to pay it. With rents as high as they are in San Diego, opening a shop doesn't always come with extra amenities like dedicated parking. As for the coffee, it's some of the most creative (and delicious) I've ever had. Honestly, I don't know what people are talking about when they say it's not good, it feels like they're just being haters. This business puts so much care into their drinks and designs, and every time we visit, the shop is busy. And the garlic bun? It's delightful and absolutely worth the hype. But to enjoy it, you have to show up ready to appreciate it. This isn't a corporate company don't expect the same treatment. read more

I can see why this spot is popular. The place is spacious and open, perfect if you need to work or study. I noticed this huge piano right in the middle of the room when I walked in. The coffee bar has a nice set up, I enjoyed looking at the different coffee beans they have along with the description. You can tell how fresh the drinks are just from the smell. I tried a hot vanilla latte and their specialty Keep Latte, and both were amazing! The coffee was strong but not too sweet, and the creaminess was on another level --you can tell it's made from scratch. I did add vanilla syrup to both my drinks after reading reviews because I like my coffee sweet. I'd say the drinks aren't sweet at all. Service was great. My drinks came out pretty fast for a Saturday morning. I can't wait to go back and try their Thai tea specialty drink next! read more

Was super excited to try this spot, Really wanted the garlic cream cheese bagel which I was told they only sell them on Wed-Sat but today they had sold out early in the morning The keep matcha was good but half of the drink was the foam which maybe should have been expected... The Havana was also good and different than something I've tried in the past but was expecting more pistachio flavor Plenty of seats to do work at and the free wifi works pretty well! read more

Keep Coffee has a spacious, modern, and clean vibe--very comfortable. As a black sesame fan, I tried the Harvest Moon, and it was incredible! The coffee was rich and perfectly balanced with black sesame and a touch of pistachio. Their beans, sourced from regions like Guatemala and Brazil, are freshly ground, adding to the quality. At $8 with oat milk, it's a bit pricey but worth it for the flavor. Next time, I'll definitely try their matcha! read more

I get the keep latte, with an extra shot. That's 4 espresso shots! Ive had a lot of coffee from a lot of different places and I can say with a lot of certainty that this coffee is different. It's so strong and full flavored. Other places claim to have strong coffee but this place actually deliveries on it, I'll always be back my daily fix :) read more
Great for small groups and large parties! My drink was delicious and pretty! Portions are small but everything tastes high quality Lots of parking in the parking lot. I visited on a Tuesday morning and it was PACKED with a long line to order! So be ready to hang for a bit Our coffees took about 20 minutes and food took about an hour. The Keep Coffee is a cute cafe with a good amount of seating. There were quite a few people working while sipping on their drinks. We tried 3 of their signature drinks: Thai tea, matcha, black sesame (from left to right). The drinks were a little pricey at around $8 each but were pretty and tasty! If choosing between the three, I'd skip the Thai tea and give either the matcha or black sesame a try. read more
