This was one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had, I could not finish even one half of it. the roast beef was dry and hard in some places, the bread was stale and it just tasted ...not good. The fries were cold too it was just a mess honestly. I was visiting friends in the area and will definitely be advising against coming here again if they suggest it, unfortunately...

I've been here many times over the years and could've sworn I reviewed the Lighthouse Diner at some point. Apparently not.....so here goes: Very solid diner serving everything you'd expect to find on the menu. Whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or a light night snack.......you really can't go wrong here. Nothing that's going to blow your mind, but they're always pumping out consistently good food. Some notables for me are the homemade corned beef hash (just ask them to crisp it up a little.....you won't be disappointed) and any triple decker club sandwich (they're basic but very satisfying). Grape leaves are also a good choice. If you're looking for a very good diner and you're in the neighborhood, pay the Lighthouse a visit sometime.

We've made it a tradition now that whenever we fly into JFK (to visit family on L.I.), we come here for breakfast after taking the redeye flight from LAX. We pretty much get the same things, scrambled eggs with home fries and either sausage or bacon. I get the sausage, and my hubby gets the bacon. They do a really good job with breakfast. We haven't ventured onto the pancakes or waffles section; we primarily stick with eggs and their accompaniments and are just fine with it. TBH, we came here for dinner one time, too, and guess what we ordered for dinner... yep, the eggs. Creatures of habit, I guess.

Clean friendly restaurant. The pastitsio was awesome. Great flavor and tasted just like what I had in Greece. Chicken salad was good as well. Lotsa feta on the Greek side said

We went to Lighthouse Diner while visiting family. Wasn't disappointed and would go back again. Food was delicious, great portions and not greasy. Place was clean, loved they had a ramp for access and plenty of parking in the back. We had the pleasure of having Raúl for our server, we were truly were impressed. He was so attentive, never had to ask for anything, truly great service. We would definitely go back when we come back to visit.

This place is great! Open 24 hours. They put real blueberries in the blueberry pancakes.! The eggs are fluffy and tasty. This place is always packed for a reason..Perhaps the last true late night 24 hour diner with quality you would expect 30 or 40 years ago

The food was great, service was fast and friendly, a great spot for brunch. The western omelette with sausage is delicious, portion size was great, and the home fries were well cooked. Very clean and affordable.

Mom and my daughter had the Biscuits and Gravy with added chicken. My wife had the Spicy Seoul Benny, my son the Twisted burger and I had the Chicken and Waffles. Yum, yum! Based on another reviewers recommendation, we called while on the way to be added to the waitlist. Was told to expect a 30 minute wait. Once we arrived we waited less than 10. Our server was Giselle. Super nice, attentive and helpful. She made sure our table was well taken care of. The place is nice. I'd say best suited for parties of four or less, but accommodations can be made as needed. Good service, comfortable seating and good food. Will return to try other dishes.

Their menu is genuinely exciting, especially for a breakfast lover like me. I was torn between the…read morebiscuits and gravy and the eggs Benedict, but I almost always end up choosing eggs Benny when it's available, so I went with the fried chicken eggs Benedict. My husband ordered the tater tot waffles with scallion, sausage gravy, and sunny-side-up eggs, which also allowed me to try a bit of the gravy, something I really enjoyed. The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable, with a kind of nostalgic, old-school diner feel, almost like a more polished version of Cracker Barrel. The staff had that classic diner professionalism too...experienced, efficient, and clearly very used to doing what they do well. My only real complaints were minor. I couldn't really taste the cheddar biscuits, and I didn't love the pickles on the eggs Benedict. I also would have preferred a bit more hollandaise. I know I could have asked for extra, but I just didn't bother in the moment. That said, I saw so many other dishes passing by that looked great, and there are plenty of things I'd still like to try. Unfortunately, it's not a neighborhood I'm often in, it's about an hour from home. That said, the next time I find myself in the area, I'll definitely make a point of stopping in again.

The service was fantastic; our server was very attentive with drinks and took our orders promptly. The whole family loved the food! We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, almond pancakes, cannoli French toast, eggs Benedict, a grilled cheese sandwich, and the Salvadoran platter. Everything we get here is consistently delicious, zero complaints! The drinks were great too, including the watermelon juice, regular coffee, and lattes. We couldn't be happier with the service and the food. I will always recommend My Grandmother's Kitchen for brunch!

We went on Juneteenth, and I guess the restaurant didn't realize that people were off from school…read moreand work. My group was slightly bigger, so we were sat upstairs. They asked for drink orders and we were left alone for a long time until the drinks arrived. Though we were ready to order, the server just dropped off our drinks and went to bring another table upstairs. I went down to the counter to get someone to take our order, and it took nearly an hour before our order was in (and even then, they took the order of the second table before taking our party's order). It was almost an hour and a half since we entered the restaurant when the food finally arrived at our table, and then it took so long for someone to come with our check and process payment, we went down to the counter to do it. During this time, another family was seated upstairs and left due to not being attended to. This caused big delays in our day and I had to cancel an appointment because we spent over two hours at this restaurant when we didn't want to. That said, food was good. I got the lemon blueberry pancake, which was a little bit gummy but mostly tasted fine. My brother got the mangu, which is kinda hard to find around here, let alone on the menu of a breakfast brunch restaurant. It was my brother's first time having it, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Besides him choosing scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs, it was very classic mangu breakfast. The real crabmeat omelet was another hit-- crabmeat was so real there were little pieces of shell lining-- really ambitious and deliciously executed. The menu is really fun and the food was overall good. Again, I think the very slow service wasn't on purpose and it's because they didn't anticipate such a large crowd on a Friday, but I would say run if they try to seat you upstairs and you're the only ones up there. Be prepared to wait for a long time if you want the reward of nice food.
