Food is decent the service is horrible. I knew we were off to a bad start when I had to go to Starbucks to get sugar for my coffee because the cook/waiter didn't care to bring any after I asked. Speaking of the cook/waiter. Who's bright idea is it to have only one person working a shift here? This is the only food option aside from Starbucks or the gift shop at the Fairbanks Int Airport. The food is good, servers usually take your order in a reasonable time - not quickly but getting your ticket to pay always takes a very long time. More often than not I've had to go to the bar to ask for it in order to leave to get to my gate (only 4 gates here) Very slow response time. Very awkward experience when trying to leave. read more

Please do not waste your time and money. My expectations were low to begin with but my experience today has been atrocious. Bartender (Leslie, I think) was so rude and "put out" to be waiting on people. And that was before the computers went "down" for over an hour and they literally couldn't figure out how to serve customers without the computer! Even with cash! Couldn't even get an offer of water to go with the food I had ordered; it got cold and inedible as I waited for SOMETHING to drink. Tried to give them my money AGAIN and Leslie hollered in the kitchen "Nope! I'm not even going out there." I liked it. A small but good selection of draft beer and several more in bottles and cans. The bartender was friendly and let me try tastes of any of the draft beers I wanted to try. One of the better airport bars I have spent time in. read more

Slow incompetent staff. I order a 20oz beer and I got a 16oz but charged for a 20oz twice. Apparently $18.88 wasn't enough of a charge because after I paid for it the next morning the charges were reversed and $49.12 was charged to my card... this place sucks and they are thieves... stay away it's not worth it!!! read more

Been through here 3 times in the last two months same old shit, no service even when you stand at the bar and wait for someone to acknowledge your standing right in front of them. Too worried about her tips literally went around to customers requesting they pay up. Ignore you not sure what the deal is but they just got my last attempt to give them my business. I have been to this establishment several time flying in and out for work. I always get the same thing: two 20 OZ beers, 2 orders of buffalo wings with blue cheese. I have tried countless times to recreate the magic that these people have put into their wings but every single time I have ordered them (at least 6 times) they have been amazing every time. read more

Well, the food was okay, average. We had the pulled pork nachos which were decent. My wife had the salmon salad. The salmon was dry and overcooked. The kids had a cup of soup that was filled up halfway and were were charged $6 for each. The service was the issue that dropped our review from 3 to 1 star. We received the bill and noticed we were charged 19.99 for the salmon salad instead of the 18.99 listed on the menu. We informed the server who left and returned telling us that the manager (Jeff) said it was a misprint and should be 19.99. I told the server that we are going to pay the price advertised on the menu. Soon after, the manager came to the table and was obviously annoyed. He couldn't believe we were asking for the $1 to be taken off the bill. I said I don't care about $1. It was about being charged a price different from the price advertised. At this point, Jeff threw a $1 on the table and said, "Here, that is from my own pocket." I thanked him, but he continued to argue with us. I told him that he was being antagonistic and he needed to walk away. Jeff left, but returned 2 more times to argue with us. His last trip back, he asked for my wife's name to put in his report. He was obviously trying to intimidate us for some reason and my wife and I got up and left. I recommend all customers review their bill carefully before paying. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but the manager's reaction made us wary. read more

This is located inside of security at the International Airport, so unless you plan on flying out you won't be able to just dine here.

The Local is a huge step up from the old "restaurant" at the airport. Service can be spotty, but the food is surprisingly good. The bar selection is very respectable as well. read more

Decent draft beer selection but was hoping for an IPA on draft. Unfortunately the goose island keg was empty. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger with parmesan tater tots. Same issue as below the price for the Caesar salad with Salmon is listed on the menu as $18.99, but it is actually $19.99. They say it is a "misprint." Honestly, I was baffled by this. Also, I had to ask my server to get the club soda I ordered FOUR TIMES. Once or twice I would understand. And then I waited another 20 minutes to have them come and get the bill to pay it. EAT BEFORE YOU GET TO THE AIRPORT. Also, the Salmon was cooked so hard I could barely eat it. I usually give glowing reviews. This is my first one star and they deserve it. read more

I have been here multiple times since they opened this year and probably 3 out of 5 times the service is worse than poor. This bar/restaurant is a complete joke! I had 2 drinks at the bar a Bloody Mary and blue moon. Going to finish up my blue moon the jerk/unprofessional/worthless bartender rushed me and asked if I was ready pay! I said I'd pay cash so he then explained for some reason he couldn't print up my receipt. He walked me around the bar showed me my bill and I proceed to pay cash. After getting my change back I finished up my blue moon. I then after asked for another beer which of been my 3rd drink and I got denied!? He then became very rude and had no explanation in why I couldn't have another. Then trying to embarrass me in front of people sitting near by on top of it! Mind you I was still pretty much sober? I don't know if he was butt hurt that I didn't tip him instantly not really sure? Worst service I've had at a restaurant in at least 10+ years. Burger came with cheese and we got two even though we only ordered one. We had to ask another waiter for silverware. Our turkey sandwiches easily took 40 minutes. A sandwich took 40 minutes. Waiter told us tater tots had cheese and aioli on them. They came plain. Waiter still charged us for two burgers. I wouldn't recommend but yet again there isn't much choice at Fairbanks Airport. Maybe Starbucks next door would be a better choice? read more

The only restaurant in the Fairbanks Airport terminal leaves much to be desired. Having eaten here often out of necessity, it's obvious the vendor who has the lease, and the employees, know they are the only game in the terminal; their poor service and marginal food quality reflecting a non-competitive environment with little management oversight. Waiters go on ignore mode, lack politeness and good customer service skills. Even the Starbucks adjoining the restaurant is slow and incompetent at best.
