Visited this restaurant for Sunday brunch and was highly impressed. Such a cute area with other shops and less than a 5 min walk from the beach. There is a front outdoor area and then a back outdoor seating area with a bar (GO TO THE BACK). The NOLA oysters are the absolute best and they literally mimic the ones I have had in NOLA. The trifecta red sangria is a must have! Our server Charles was absolutely the best and he was so busy but never forgot to check on us and make us feel welcomed. read more

I live in Jacksonville and had never been here before. The place always looked cute and popping. My friends and I decided to go there, which ended up being a huge disappointment. 1. We called for reservations, we had heard that had live music outside. We requested outside seating with the live music. They took our name, number and email for the reservation. We showed up on time for the reservation. Just for them to sit us inside. After asking about outside they stated "the tables outside are reserved." We stated that we had reservations. They refused to move us, and we didn't push as we didn't want to be too rude. 2. The service was horrible. It took 30 minutes for our first drinks. And a total of 50 for appetizers. I had mentioned to the waitress to put my entree in with the appetizers but she could bring it out a few minutes later. She communicated that she would wait to put it in and watch. I believe she forgot about the order as it did not come out until over 75 minutes total later. When we asked about it she said "it'll be another 10 minutes" - 20 minutes later. 3. I got a burger and asked for medium well. After biting into the burger, and after her charging me since we got out checks when the burger came out because we wanted to leave - IT WAS RAW. I got food poisoning from it, ruined my night. Do not go here, it was a huge disappointment. My friends also agreed the local always sounds like idea but has always been a disappointment. read more

Wow! What a great experience! We had dinner with friends on 03/23/2023. The restaurant was not too crowded; it was nice and quiet. We were seated at a high top table near the bar. Madeline came over to the table right away and she had great energy! She was friendly and engaging. She took our drink orders and brought them quickly. She made some great recommendations and suggestions for dinner. AND our food was amazing! We all ordered something different and it was all excellent! I walked in and the host asked if I wanted an inside or outside table, I stated "outside". She then said outside was unavailable ( so not quite sure why she asked) . She tried to sit us inside by the restroom which we then asked to be relocated and we were sat at a dirty table. Regardless of the fact we have been sitting for ten minutes and nobody has greeted us so I have left. Didn't get a chance to try anything . The setup seemed pretty cool and the menu looked like it had some great items so I didn't want to give one star but it would be nice for someone to greet patrons or the 5 servers in the beverage station just standing there could've touched the table and let us know someone would be right with us. Our group is in town this weekend for the Donna Marathon. The service was great! Our server was very attentive and happy to give us suggestions for our entrees. She wasn't super knowledgeable about the drafts, but they may rotate them a lot so that's understandable! Our food was yummy! The salmon, chicken capers, and short ribs entrees were very good. My salmon was a little overdone, but it was still good and I would get it again! The ahi tuna nachos though were phenomenal, and I definitely recommend getting those. I went there Saturday night fir the first time. The place was crowded but we could not get any service. They only had 2 bartenders outside on the patio bar and they were very rude if you could even get their attention to order a drink. After over an hour trying to get service, I got my hamburger and it was just about raw And fries were cold. Then it took me about another 45 min just to get my bill. When I received my bill there were excess drinks on there I never ordered. The only thing that was Great was the band they had which also got shut down early! I came here for the first time this week with some friends from work. It was carry out only due to COVID but I still had such a wonderful experience. I ordered online while I was at work and opted for the "pay at restaurant" option, and I'm so glad I didn't because they were doing 50% off for healthcare workers! My whole (big) meal and drinks were less than $10. Wow! The hot honey chicken bites were so good. They were very thick and white meat, not just a lot of breading like chicken bites can be something. This spot is a must for brunch! Their patio and outdoor bar is very inviting, although it was raining when we dined, they do have a covered section that we were able to sit at and stayed dry! We both ended up ordering the BLAT with sweet potato home fries and shared a side of grits and side of fruit. I assure you, you will NOT leave hungry! The atmosphere was not what we were expecting at all. Even though it was a Friday night, loud live music blaring through the whole restaurant isn't really an enjoyable place to go have a casual dinner with friends. We couldn't hear each other talk. It was a restaurant not a club. The food wasn't anything that great either, I had the fried chicken sandwich which was dry and tasted like it came right off the Sysco truck. Our friends split the brisket sandwich and the bread was super soggy, and my partner had the Steak tacos his only complaint was that the side should've been something other than chips. Overall, if you're looking for a chill place to eat amazing food with friends, this isn't the place. Update: the manager got arrested in March for their loud music. read more

Broccoli, brussels, squash, carrots something other than a salad or fries. Loved the natural lighting. If you get parking and don't have to pay for it, consider it the miracle for the day. This was the first time we dined here. We started off with the hummus plate and the calamari. The hummus was very good, but the bread they gave with it was very buttery and made our fingers feel very oily. Is it a bad thing? Not really, because it tasted pretty good. The calamari was good. The breading wasn't too heavy and the dipping sauce was nice. The actual pieces of squid were very small. Never seen calamari so little. As far as entree's go, we order the fried chicken sandwich and the steak tacos. The chicken was fried for sure (burnt?). The breading was salty and a little dry for my liking, but you may feel different. It comes with a sauce, but there wasn't much on the buns to really get a good taste of it. The French fries that came on the side were very good. The steak tacos were okay. The steak by itself was good and tender, but it didn't go that well in the taco. It also came very heavy with pickled onions. For the price, I think it was $16 for 3, is not worth the price. We will probably return in the future to try something different. read more

The food at this place is INCREDIBLE. We went at around 4 p.m. on a Saturday which was the perfect time, because it wasn't busy and defintely started to pick up before we left. The food was delicious. We got the hot honey chicken bites, the lobster mac & cheese, and steak frites and just split it all, which is one of our favorite things to do. I will say, this place doesn't have a liquor license so they have beer, wine, and their own kind of custom liquor that tastes similar to sake? It has half the alcohol content. I have been to the location in San Marco and thoroughly enjoyed their food and drinks there. I went to brunch on Saturday afternoon with family, since they like going there too. There was a long wait to get tables, so I put my party size and name down along with my phone number so that they could text me when the table was ready. My aunt and I walked across the street to shop for a little bit, and it was about 5 minutes when I received a phone call and text message saying our table was ready. I walked back over to get the table, and when I first walked in and waited, I thought the girl had skipped me over when I saw her walking a different group ahead of me to a table. However, she was quick to reassure me that our table was ready and she hadn't forgotten about me. We sat down and ordered mimosas before deciding on the New Orleans oysters to start off. They were delicious and super buttery, sliding right off the shell into my mouth, along with bruschetta and hot sauce. My cousin and I both picked the poke salad, which was bigger than we expected, but it was light enough that I didn't feel overly full after eating. Enjoyed brunch this morning at this newer restaurant. Thought that it would be crowded when we arrived at 9:30am on a Saturday but was surprised to see plenty of free parking available right in front and many open tables. Love that they have both inside and outside seating. Our server was friendly and did not rush our group of five along at all. Each person's order looked scrumptious. Came here the other day for a late lunch early dinner. Remembering what used to be here, the restaurant is quite spacious. It also has that new York studio apartment vibe. Staff was nice and seated us pretty quickly. Our server Rachel (sp?) was very tentative and answered all our questions promptly and even ran to the kitchen to ask for allergen questions and ingredients questions we had. The wifey ordered some 'dragon' drink. (Sorry I forgot the name and didn't take a snap of the drink menu). But it has dominant taste of rum and some coconut liquor of some sort. Oh! And it also had cbd in it. They have a few drinks with cbd in it but you can request not to have it, if you l For entrees the wife ordered appetizers as her entreé. Conch fritters and the chicken tenders. The conch fritters were fried perfectly golden brown and you get a pretty big amount. You can't really see the conch so I would say it was a good 'batter' inside. There were good sweetness from the breading' or what Rachel said to be cornmeal in it. The sauce it came with made it interesting. It looked like ranch but said to be key lime aioli. It wasn't sour and it didn't taste like an aioli but more of like a yogurt based dip with a hint of sweetness from key lime. It was interestingly good to me. Wifey did not like the sweetness from the sauce. She ate it with ketchup lol. Her tenders were fresh and she got quite a lot too! It came with fries and seemed to be a house made honey mustard. I ordered their braised short rib. It came on a bed of grits and collards. There were no description on preparation of grits. But it was definitely creamy. The wifey enjoyed eating it off my plate. It wasn't heavy creamy due to a cheese (to me) because I couldn't taste any cheese of some sort. But it was creamy in a way like as if it was simmered in cream or milk. The collards were good but nothing popped. But I enjoyed some greenery. You get a good portion of the beef. If I must add something that it should have been incorporated in a reduced sauce of some sort. The juices the dropped from their sauce was really watery when it sat above the grits (check photo). I guess I would have like it to be a thick creamy type sauce. I also don't know if it was intentional but it still needed some seasonings. I never reach for the salt and pepper, but I had to add some on my plate. But overall good 'light' flavors. Overall, it's a pleasant experience. Pretty good food and good atmosphere. They have fresh oysters and an actually oyster bar. If I recalled they have deals on oysters too. They have an outdoor patio/bar area as well. Second location location just opened on Neptune/Atlantic beach in Jax on 10/1/2019. Ambiance would get 4 stars. The actual food was mediocre. It was fresh but nothing to write home about. Service was just ok. They kept stressing the kitchen was behind. I do not expect that when it is a second location in the first week of opening. If they are in soft opening they should be offering discount or additional things to nibble on & try. The copywriting team that wrote the menu kudos everything read as delicious. Kitchen execution was just mediocre. $6 avacado toast should be on homemade local artisanal bread, with a beautifully crunchy crust and crumb, not whole grain basic loaf that seemed like it was out of a bag. Manager was friendly. Seemed like there was more staff at the door than attentiveness to serving. read more
