Man these guys are lifesavers! Normally I order lunch from Ruby's or Extreme Pizza but I TOTALLY forgot to order lunch for 20 people until about 3 hours before the meeting. I called a few places but was just STUCK because people need 24 hours notice. I searched Yelp one more time for "Restaurants that deliver" and got nada. SO I just called Lunch Box and asked (or pleaded...) if they could deliver in two hours for my group of 20... "NO PROBLEM!" I was told Seriously? It was that easy?? Wow... I should note that they don't deliver for groups under 10 though, but for lunch meetings at work this is spectacular. Most box lunch places give you a mediocre sandwich with old lettuce and a mini bag of chips for $11. But The Lunch Box gives you a good sandwich (or wrap!), larger bag of chips (or salad!), a cookie AND a soda all for $10. TALK ABOUT A DEAL! I recently took up a job a couple of buildings down. This is the first place I decided to try for lunch. I fell in love with their classic reuben. It's not super huge, but it's so pretty and delicious. I have tried three other sandwiches and have not been dissapointed. I love the staff here. They're all pretty dope. Great place for lunch. I love The Lunch Box. It may seem a little intimidating when you first approach (there is usually a significant line), but the line goes quick (I've never waited longer than 10 minutes) due to the super efficient staff. I've tried at least half the menu and I have never been disappointed. The service is great, the food is poppin' and the punch cards are a dream come true (I also frequent IB's Hoagies where the punch card love keeps on giving). Totally recommend this spot! read more

I purchased an amazingly delish avocado & cheese sandwich today from The Lunch Box. It was soooooo good. I stopped at this place by chance, and I'm glad I did! I absolutely love this place! I work right up the street so I come here almost 3 days a week. The staff is wonderful and you can see that they have a true bond with their regulars. I always find myself laughing and having a good time while I'm waiting for my food. I usually order The Veggie or Avocado and Cheese (not so much of a meat eater). Both are fantastic! My boyfriend and I went here on a whim while visiting Lake Merritt. It is a little hole in the wall spot but it turned out to have great food and great service. The people were friendly and fast. They have brisket and Dutch crunch. However, the brisket is shredded and soaked in barbecue sauce. Comparable to Ike's, but cheaper.
