Mediocre food that tasted like reheated frozen fare. Basically what I could have had at my own home if I wasn't such a lazy asshole. Service was alright but not particularly attentive even with a limited client base. Price was on par with other breakfast cafes. I'd drive the extra couple of blocks to Bada Bean for a more substantial meal with a far better diversity of options, better caffeinated beverages, friendlier service and the same damn price. No fuss or frills breakfast place that is always reliable for some good food. The prices are cheap, but the food is good quality and fresh. A three egg breakfast, hashbrowns, breakfast meat, toast for only $7. Coffee is Lucky Goat brand and the waitresses came around multiple times to offer refills and a to-go beverage. I think the breakfast sandwich here rocks and the atmosphere is the best. Think urban, old-school diner with good food and an old feel. There are a lot if regulars to this little diner for this reason. Sit inside and feel the morning buzz at breakfast (or lunch) or take their newspapers & relax outside. It's small, tight parking (but there's a run-over lot nearby), and it's not sophisticated or gourmet--but it's quaint, reliable, & has good food. Didn't even get a chance to try the food. The establishment was essentially empty and or waiter didn't come over but once to check on us, we sat there for 20 minutes waiting, and no one walked over. BEST BREAKFAST IVE EVER HAD HANDS DOWN! Came here as a visitor for my bf at FSU and we were in the mood for brunch. We came upon this place and our expectations were exceeded! The place is a bit small with the seating inside but that's not a big deal felt like home! We were taken care of quickly, my bf ordered the French toast plate and I ordered lunchbox plate and French toast on the side. Everything was absolutely yummy!!! The eggs were cooked to perfection, French toast so good! Bacon was cooked right before too crispy (my fav) the home fries were so delicious. And the iced tea was so good! And all for $17. They were not small plates, I had taken almost half of my plate home. When I come back, i will definitely return! read more

Glad to have found this quaint brunch place! My friends and I came here after a long hike, ready to eat! I ordered two eggs and a blueberry pancake, one of my friends ordered chicken and waffles, and the other ordered the 2 egg breakfast with grits and toast. Our food was fresh and tasty! My pancake was on the larger side and was very yummy. However, about two bites had some bits that were undercooked (but it was easy to overlook because the rest of the pancake was fine). There were plenty of blueberries in the pancake, which tends to be a problem in some brunch places that don't put enough, so I was pleased! My eggs (over-medium) came exactly the way I wanted them. :) My friends seemed to enjoy their meals as well - one of them devoured their meal in less then 5 minutes! We were the last people to leave, but it didn't seem like they were rushing us to leave, so that was also nice. My meal, including my coffee, only cost $7. Seven dollars. That's crazy. Usually a single entree from a breakfast place cost $10. And the thing is, the meal was good! A cheap, yummy brunch! The two egg breakfast (what my friend ordered) was only $4, and this included 2 eggs, choice of toast, and homefries or hashbrowns or grits - that's an amazing deal. I recommend getting the pancakes - mine was warm and I enjoyed it! Also, there were cute, nostalgic lunchboxes hanging in various places, which I loved. No. This place is overpriced for the quality of the food. I ordered scrambled eggs, what I received was a dry, over-cooked quasi omelette. The worst, however, was the cheese grits. When the bowl was delivered to my table, my jaw dropped in disbelief. My boyfriend, a northerner, said, "I'm a Yankee and even I know you don't put a Kraft single in cheese grits." We walked in around 1230 and it looked like the lunch rush was ending. We asked if we could grab a table outside and they said yes. We sat ourselves at the table with our son. The table still had dishes on it from the previous guests, no big deal it's the table we wanted so we moved the dishes over to the next table. A couple minutes went by and the same person we spoke with inside came out to give us menus and took our drink order (why she didn't follow us out there to begin with I'm not sure) then it took between 5-10 min to get our drinks. Which she brought out on the lid that covers the tea urns. Odd, no server trays? While we waited for our food all the tables had finished clearing out outside but NONE of the tables were getting bussed. Kinda gross to look at when you walk up or view from your car when driving by. Had it been like that when I drove by yesterday we wouldn't have stopped today. Then the food took about 30 min at which time our two year old son had enough and could no longer sit still so we had to box up our food Togo. No apologies for everything taking so long, no help boxing items up, nothing. The servers need to be trained to have better customer service skills. I was excited to try a local place as we just moved to town so this experience was a HUGE disappointment! The food was good and that's the only redeeming quality. The server is lucky my hubby paid because she wouldn't have gotten as good of a tip from me and I'm in the customer service industry. We might give it a second shot only because the food was good but if the service isn't better then we will be done for good. There's plenty of options in this town, one just down the street. i really like dennys because it's cheap, simple and quick. yeah it's not as good as the brunch at mockingbird or kool beanz but it's not trying to be. it's perfect for what it is. i can go to jennys order 2 eggs how i want them sausage and bacon and get exactly that with a cup of coffee and it only costs me $5. breakfast is supposed to be cheap, fast and a little greasy. for the same meal at ihop or dennys you'll find yourself paying around $8.50. read more

I've never written a review on Yelp before, I'm not usually picky about where I eat. My partner and I spent the night in Tallahassee and stopped by the lunchbox on the way out. The service was the worst- we sat by the kitchen and watched plates of food sit out for 20 minutes before being delivered to other tables. I had to wait 25 minutes to get an iced tea. We also had to ask twice for it (after watching our waiter hang out by the iced tea dispenser and drink coffee). The food was neither here nor there- we would have accepted the breakfast wrap and scrambled eggs had the entire experience taken the usual 25-30 minutes instead of an hour and a half. read more
