They have disposable styrofoam buffet plates and plastic utensils. Disposable food prep gloves are available for use to handle buffet serving spoons. Created an account just to make this review. The food was all dangerously cold and had no real taste. The salad bar was only lettuce and cucumbers. The chocolate fountain had water mixed in. Ignore the haters, unless you insist on either salmon or tuna nigiri. It's a buffet, with average quality and high quantity. Lunch is about $19, ayce, and featured nigiri today were: tilapia, shrimp, octopus, Krab stick, and bean curd, also mackerel sashimi with the cold seafood items (by the shelled clams and shredded jellyfish, cold spicy mussels in the shell). There were a half dozen rolls to choose from, a couple with spicy tuna, one with salmon, California roll, no eel but do provide a squirt bottle of eel sauce. A few dim sum choices: yummy chicken feet, pork feet, leaf packets (rice and pork? Didn't try those), a couple of unknown ones, beef tendon soup. Various chinese style chicken dishes, beef and broccoli, very limited teppan yaki (pork and chicken only, veggies), decent dessert selection (many items besides fruit today). We came here to celebrate my dad's birthday with the whole family, I indulge myself with some oyster on half shell, I pass on the crab legs because I don't feel like doing labor so instead I took some baked imitation crab, big mistake, it's loaded with mayonnaise that the flavor is off. I been to many buffets and most of them are either hit or miss and some that are mostly miss. I know for certain that their hot and sour soup is a miss and the roast is too tough. Everyone line up at the stir fry so must be a hit and the lobster was a ok. We were seated at the back area for party place and the server was busy getting special request and putting away dirty plates, the best thing about where we are seated is the proximity to the men's and women's room, that's because we have some senior people that needs to use em. I really wanted to like this place. After watching some videos of this location, decided to go and see if it met that expectations. We were a party of 5. 4 adults, 1 child at 13, 1 at 12, and the rest were 10 and younger. This was the Sunday dinner pricing, so as you can see in the receipt, we assumed the younger kids would remain kids pricing, but because they were taller, they were charged adult. That's a bummer on that... along with drinks, extra cost, which wasn't specified. Then, the food. It was around 6:30pm and the food was only half plated. Meaning, the trays were never full, just refilled just enough to half. I had to timed the lobster so I was able to try it. Being that lobsters were offered only on weekend, and there's an increase cost, this was one of the main reasons to visit this place. Timing matters if you want to get these lobster halves. The odd thing was that the tails were larger earlier in the evening, and as the time went on, each tail got smaller and smaller and covered with cheese. So be prepared for that. Every food there was expected to be "good" and filling, but nothing spectacular. Dessert area was nice, over a dozen different options. Fruit, blue bunny ice cream cups, chocolate fountains, and my favorite almond cookie. Simple, and standard affair. The one item that was the least tasty was the shumai. Ya I know, shumai. How can it go wrong. Well, it was mushy and tasted raw. Whatever was inside was over steamed. Absolutely inedible. Avoid this dish. Lastly, the staff was courteous and efficient. Loved the fresh snow crab legs, and steamed clams -- had fresh oysters which was not the freshest but was definitely ok to eat-had about a dozen and I was okay-plus a wide variety of Chinese dishes you'd typically find at your favorite takeout spot. We have wanted to go back to The Luxe for a while now. The price point was prohibitive. Finely went for Mother's Day, $100. For 2 people was disappointing. I was VERY in disappointed, they didn't have near the food selection they used to. Gelato bar was gone and replaced with ice cream cups.... Sashimi selection was very limited and was the same or less than what we get at an AYCE restaurant closer to home. I waited at least 20 min for backed crab on the half shell, it wasn't anything special.. Food line service people were rude and not helpful. Table service was great. My expectations were dashed after waiting so long to go back. I expected way more since it was a holiday. I was expecting what we used to go there for as a nice treat for Mother's Day. I can NO Longer recommend this restaurant as it definitely not what it used to be especially for the price point. I did not expect to find such a nice variety of foods here. Pleasantly surprised! Took me a while and quite a lot of laughter with the staff to understand that they did, in fact, have frog legs. Food was tasty and fresh. Nothing smelled bad or had overpowering flavours. They have a big selection of soups and their sushi actually comes with sides of spicy mayo and eel sauce, which we've really enjoyed. We enjoyed the crab legs and lobster claws (ask for the tools to break the shells!). Dessert sections had some pastries, ice cream, fresh fruit and chocolate fountain that my kid loved! There were A LOT OF people - so for those who are very afraid of sitting next to other people in close proximity, then this is not your go-to place to eat. Perhaps Fridays are usually busy? They use paper plates and utensils instead of porcelain. Only the porcelain soup bowls are being used. They also have plastic gloves for you to wear so that you can safely pick up the tongs, etc. to get your desired food. Lunch Buffet for Adults: $16.99 per person. They have: sushi, seafood (clams, fried shrimp, salmon, & fish fillet - warm dishes; mussels, octopus - cold/raw dishes), french fries, soup (lobster, fish ball, etc), steamed white rice, and desserts (fruit, cake, and ice cream). They also have a Brazillian BBQ section where you can ask for sausage and other meats. You can also build your own mongolian-style chow mein. If you are looking for more seafood varieties, especially baked mussels, crab, and lobster then you would have to stop by during dinner time - however dinner price is insanely expensive and not worth it in my opinion. BEWARE: I got some corn with shrimp, and before I ate the corn - there was a MINI FLY/BUG in the corn! Disgusting and I even showed it to my boyfriend; lets just say his facial expression was hilarious but he basically lost his appetite and went straight to desserts after. I even have a picture (uploading it to warn others so that before you eat your meals, please check and don't be so quick and eat right away!) Desserts were okay. Firs time here, unlimited Salmon Sashimi, if they refill the section... More than once per hour. I was willing to pay the $35 entrance fee, as they are known for their seafood. I came after the Salmon Sashimi as it's my favorite. I was there over an hour and half, and the sashimi section was only refilled once. I kept asking the chef when there will be more sashimi and he ignored me a few times. I waited and waited, and finally before I left I was able to get a few more pieces before everyone devoured it. The rest of the sushi seems fine, not quality. They serve lobster, but very small and dry, not worth the hype. $35 for a few pieces of sashimi and mid quality sushi wasn't really worth it. By the time the second round was refilled I had already had other foods. Quality of overall food was 3/5 The first sashimi was better quality than the second round. For lunch, the buffet had fruits, a salad bar, Mongolian barbecue, sushi, Chinese food, dim sum staples, and dessert. Since it was a weekday lunch, we didn't have crab legs as an option. Check in through Yelp to get a free drink. When we ordered beer we were told their alcohol license hasn't been renewed, though the alcohol drink menu was on the table. Cleanliness wise, it was ok. I really wish there was something to bring us back here, but unless they offered more variety then we would just pass. Service was very good though. It's not the beeest thing ever but I'm giving it four stars just because you do get what you pay for (if not more). The oysters are super fresh and the lobster is quite yummy and unlimited. For $31.99 dinner on a weeknight, it's pretty pricey for the menu being offered. We arrived between 6:30-7:00pm on a Wednesday which I think is still a decent dinner hour. The place wasn't too busy which I should've taken as a red flag. When going to get our food, the selections were really limited, half or empty all together and what was out there looked like it was sitting under the heat lamps for quite some time. I understand trying to save costs on nights that are probably low traffic, but probably won't be back. The cost isn't worth the food options available (at least not during dinner on a weeknight). For $31.99 the best food items we ate last night were the sesame balls, fries, and coconut tapioca soup . Should've taken the advice of the other Yelp reviews and skipped coming here.
