Yesterday I did a Yelp search of Burgers in the Arden-Arcade area in Sacramento. I landed on The Melt. I have never been and decided yesterday was the day. Parking was super easy. Upon entering the establishment, I was really impressed by the overall vibe of the place. It is super clean. I also appreciated that the kitchen is viewable and you can watch as they prepare your food. I also liked the patio they have for nice days, it looks comfortable. I ordered the Double Spicy Mission Melt Burger. It consisted of 2/3 lbs. total of Angus & Wagyu beef, chopped and grilled with 2 slices of Pepper jack, jalapeños, avocado, lettuce, spicy Melt sauce on an Artisan bun. I also ordered regular fries. WOW!! The burger was super huge!! It was cooked to a perfect Medium which I prefer. It tasted so good. All ingredients are clean. No artificial colors, HFC, or preservatives. Pure heaven!! The fries were perfectly cooked and coated with a really tasty seasoning. And the size of the order of fries was crazy huge!!! Worth mentioning is their Ranch Dressing is very creamy and delicious. Oh, the pickles. How could I forget to mention that they give you a whole pickle cut in half to accompany your Burger? Yum. I enjoyed every bite I could muster to eat. I was super full and was unable to finish eating everything. Pro Tip 1 - It is their 15th Anniversary and they are offering a free shake if you give the password/code "Heartshake" through Sunday 8/I6/26. I went with the Snickerdoodle Shake. So thick and creamy. Very indulgent and a very good choice. The manager was really nice and her service was top notch. Thank you!! I highly recommend trying this place out if you haven't already done so - 5*

After an adventurous month in South Africa, my wife and I were craving our routine of having homemade meals- hence the hiatus that I took from trying new restaurants and Yelping. When we decided to step back onto the scene, we wanted to make sure that it was something that would knock our socks off...The Melt did exactly that! Since the establishment is located roughly 30 minutes from our home, we decided to have our order delivered via DoorDash. My wife and often share similar tastes, so we both opted for the Double BBQ Bacon MeltBurger. I ordered the garlic parmesan fries, while my wife chose the cheddar bacon ranch fries. The garlic parmesan fries were good...but my wife's bacon ranch fries were delicious (I stole a couple while she wasn't looking)! On to the main event....the burger...my gawd it's been quite awhile since I have had such a memorable burger. From the bun to the meats to the cheese, it was well worth it. I have The Melt bookmarked within my Yelp profile and am already looking forward to a future opportunity to revisit their menu!

What could be wrong about a place that has cheese in almost every dish? They have a large array of burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese, and Mac and cheese along with main and side salads and milkshakes and cookie options for dessert. We shared a great patty melt. Perfectly crisp and toasted bread enveloped a yummy beef patty and two kinds of cheese, along with jammy caramelized onions. The fries were divine. Light, crispy, flavorful, with a special seasoning. I think they finally supplanted the fries I remember from Germany that to me were always the ultimate. 10/10. Delicious drinks- I had an Oaktown root beer. We both enjoyed the meal, shared the sandwich and fries and it was perfect. Definitely membership of the clean plate club. Simple seating with tables and chairs and plenty of light. You order at the counter or at a kiosk and pick up at the counter. Drinks are self serve including ice water at a station adjacent to the counter. The staff member we ordered from was welcoming and professional. Be aware the parking lot gets crowded during mealtimes so plan accordingly.

We came here on a Sunday and were able to find a table inside without much trouble. Ordering is done through a kiosk, and you pick up your food at the front when it's ready. Overall, the food tasted good. The only downside was that my hamburger wasn't cooked the way I requested. I visited The Melt in Sacramento, CA [2070 Fair Oaks Blvd] on Wednesday, 05/27/26, around 2 PM. I was happy to come back to this restaurant, as Liz Zuniga (Guest Happiness Manager) encouraged me to give this restaurant another shot. In this visit, I proceeded to order the following food items: * Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich * Melty Mac * Tomato Soup The chicken sandwich was juicy and fried to perfection. The size of the chicken breast was huge. The spicy melt sauce was delicious, too. I added mayonnaise to enhance the flavor. The Melty Mac was decently prepared. I added black pepper on top. Lastly, the Tomato Soup was absolutely incredible and divine, just like I remembered from the first visit. What stood out about this visit was the associate, Timothy. He was so extroverted and pleasantly kind to the point where he was engaging with all of the guests inside the restaurant. I enjoyed our conversation, as he was super welcoming and ensured that I was taken care of. He even went around to offer complimentary chocolate chip cookies to everyone! I'd say his unforgettable hospitality definitely brought this review up to 5 stars. As a bonus, I liked how this restaurant offered free Wi-Fi. It was super convenient, as I needed to complete work on my laptop. The inside of the restaurant was clean and presentable. Parking was easy to find around this time, too. I'll definitely be back to try more food items from the menu.

I'll leave this as a 3 instead of a 2, but under protest. The reason being is that I'm willing to come back, but they need to make some improvements. First, the good. The tomato soup was actually very good, not simply an afterthought side dish. I ordered the patty melt...at a place called "The Melt," with pictures of items covered in gooey cheese. False advertising? Look at my picture. While the cheese had good taste, there was nowhere near "the melt effect" one would expect. The patty was cooked well, but has no seasoning... therefore, no flavor. I think they don't season it because of the supposed melt sauce...I say supposed, because there was no sauce on my melt, though the description says melt sauce. I sat there with great tomato soup, a sandwich with minimal cheese, and a soda...for $$. I would definitely give it a second try....but I guess if you actually want cheese, or flavor, for that matter, avoid the patty melt

Came to Cal Expo from Modesto to go to the Boat & RV show. Asked Grok to show me the highest rated hamburger restaurant close by. It suggested The Melt. Did not disappoint. Everything tasted fresh. Meat was full of flavor. Fries were good as well. Timothy even came out and offered us a basket of sweet potato fries because they had made to many. Definitely give it a try. read more

Cisco was our server. We explained it was our first time and he really made us feel comfortable and welcomed. One of our friends was taking a long time to order and Cisco was very patient and cracking jokes in between. Best fast casual burger for the price! While there are a few places (some even nearby) that have phenomenal burgers, this one is an addition to the "regulars" rotation. Crisp, fresh jalapeños, delicious special sauce, and a beautiful bun all complement the mouthwatering patty. While you can't go wrong with the shakes or the yummy grilled cheese, the burger and fries combo here is a solid choice (one that I make frequently). Consider downloading the app so you can gain loyalty points and get looped in to limited time deals. Plus, the photos of Sacramento from days of old are a very nice touch and cultivate nice ambiance, compliments of the library. The owner is very thoughtful, and runs a tight ship, I have been multiple times and get the same quality service and food each time I eat in or take out. Plus, the soda fountain diverts from boring coke or Pepsi products which is a huge plus! read more

These burgers are so juicy and flavorful. They are not healthy burgers, but they are one hell of a treat! My wife and I couldn't stop praising the food on the way back home. Please note, they are the messy kind of juicy, so grab plenty of napkins. Also, some bites were a little over seasoned but from the first bite I knew that we hadn't had a burger like this in Sacramento yet. I really want to try their fried chicken version next time. Even the most basic of their fries were tasty and better than average. The wife and I tried this place for the first time tonight, not realizing that there's already a fair amount of locations throughout California. The Melt is now our favorite burger spot in Sacramento. We can't wait to try more of their offerings! read more

Always a good experience, definitely priced larger than most places but customization options and a juicy burger are always welcome in my stomach. I got the original meltburger and my husband the bbq bacon meltburger. Both burger patties were juicy and flavorful without the grease! The homemade sauce (pickle jalapeno sauce) on the original was better than In n Out! We also tried the regular French fries and the garlic parm fries. Both were delicious, crispy, and no oil flavor. We also tried the regular Mac n cheese.... Soooo yummy! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! Also, shout out to Timothy for his excellent customer service! Burgers are good. Not the best but good. The food is always made fast whenever I go pick up. Although I must say, I do prefer monsoon cheeseburgers in Natomas. I only come here when I crave different sides besides fries. Everything is pricey and sold separately like every other modern burger joint. Fries aren't really special in my opinion with that green spice on it. Literally tastes oversalted. Mac n cheese and tomato soup were on point and satisfied my cravings. With a few different varities of sides and foods, I might come back here for a nice grilled cheese with some soup or salad on the side for lunch! Highly recommend! read more

Solid 4 out of 5 . I ordered the BBQ bacon burger w/ Garlic Parmesan fries and a Snickerdoodle milkshake. This is a casual dining spot where they have a touch screen you can order off of and food came out fast, so there was littler interaction with the employees. The milkshake was mind blowing . Fries were bomb, and the burger was built good but the patty was missing something . . . either flavor or juice ‍. All in all a good experience, I would definitely return to try something else on the menu and grab another milkshake for sure. read more

The restaurant itself is a rustic warehouse feel with images of early sacramento. I had the patty melt and my husband had the steak and cheese and we split the sweet potato fries. Portions are fun but the strawberry lemonade was almost $3.50 for a tall size. Not a fan of their soda choices but customer service was great. read more

Not just a burger joint...a safe house. By the time my nephew Auggie (AKA Mr. B. ) and I reached Sacramento, the situation had deteriorated. We once again found ourselves one step ahead of the bounty hunters. Names were circulating. Photos were recent. The kind of recent that means you don't linger. We were blowing through Sacramento when I made the call. "Tighten your seatbelt, Mr. B," I growled as I crossed three lanes of traffic and took the offramp at 90. Our destination: The Melt. Not just because of the food.Because of Remi. Remi is known in certain circles. The kind that operate just outside what's legally sanctioned. If you move through the underground long enough, you hear her name spoken carefully, usually followed by: "If she's there, you're covered." She's worked with us before. From the moment we walked in, she clocked us. No surprise. No hesitation. Just a look that said, "Sit. Order. Act normal." Which we did. Burgers hit the table fast. Perfectly cooked. Grilled cheese doing exactly what grilled cheese is supposed to do when your nerves are frayed, time is tight, and the hunters are on your heels. Everything looked normal. That was the point. Halfway through the meal, the temperature in the room shifted. You only notice it you know how. Living in the underworld, you develop that sixth sense. The door opened. Then stayed open a second too long. Two men. Wrong energy. Eyes not on the menu. Scanning the room. The hunters had found the safe house. Remi didn't flinch. She slid into motion like this was a drill. She intentionally dropped some cookies on our table, giving us a reason to stay seated while she created noise elsewhere. She pulled the host into an animated conversation near the front, physically blocking the hunters' line of sight. She laughed loudly enough to draw every eye in the room toward her. Then she passed our table, never breaking stride, leaned in just long enough to drop a bag on the table and whisper, "I packed a to-go box. Watch for my signal, then walk." What followed was professional-grade misdirection. She ran cover so cleanly it should be taught. Remi stepped directly into the hunters' path, greeted them like valued guests, and pulled them into a maze of questions and choices that demanded their attention. Orders, options, substitutions, small talk. She kept them stationary, facing her, eyes up. By the time they broke off and scanned the room, their window of opportunity was gone. Mr. B. and I were already out the back, through a route that absolutely exists and absolutely doesn't. No alarms.No drama.No one spilled a drink. That's the thing about The Melt. If you don't know, it's just a great place to eat. Comfort food done right. Fast, satisfying, reliable. But if you do know? It's a refuge.A pause button. A place where the right people can disappear for just long enough. And Remi? She's the reason the operation works. Outstanding service. Impeccable timing. Ice-cold under pressure. Hmmm, so today's visit was early, and The melt had maybe 10 people eating at tables already, Togo orders stacking up, I was looking forward to the food since past experiences were good. Today we ordered 1 chopped salad, chicken was very lean (scarce) and honestly all the toppings were half of what I had before plus it was mostly salad, I suppose on a chop salad I expect it to be like a chop salad,,the ranch was watered down, thin & runny. next, ordered the "classic chicken sandwich" this looked nothing like it did before... it looked like they pounded out the chicken so it hung way over the sides of the bun -it was thin and the crust was overcooked around the chicken, there was nothing on it but on the bottom bun it had some thousand island dressing with chopped up jalapeños all over it. It was nothing like I had before and honestly I scraped off all of that sauce with the chopped up jalapeños and seeds ... it didn't taste great and also was not what I wanted. The last time it was a nice size chicken patty it wasn't beat out to be a thin piece over cooked patty that had lost all its moisture, it had lettuce and tomato and maybe even cheese on it... the bun was a different as well. Too bad because I was looking forward to eating that. And then we ordered two children's hamburgers , (2) this time the hamburger patties were half the size of what they were and I believe they are frozen patties, they smashed them and they were burnt on one side completely. Coming out well done & dry NO SAIUCE on buns. Cheese came on those and from my perspective the cheese was cheap or imitation. Last time this was not the case it was a different bun and the burger size was different and it wasn't smashed. The hamburgers fit the bun because it was a larger bun and the hamburgers were not thin beat out patties. Also last time they gave pickles spears, which I think everybody liked and this time they gave wet bags with wet apples cut up (3 slices) not a fan of this at all Especially the wet paper bag on the fries. Note: The fries look like frozen fries now or thin compared to last time. Fries were seasoned and hot. Once cold lost all life, compared to MsDonalds. Here's the one thing I'd say everybody's offering the smashed burgers but not everybody wants them I sure hope they didn't change their adult burger because if they did they'll be no reason to go back to this place ... the things that set them apart before are the things now that compared to pretty much every other burger joint... where you can get it off the dollar meal. Consistency is something that I value and I also value that things don't change as soon as they get popular. The chocolate shake was good , and that was the same. Not much else I can say here , aside from a disappointed customer and I wish I would've picked a different spot to go to lunch. As we live and learn right? We ordered the Original, which came with a flavorful jalapeño/pickle mix and just the right amount of melty cheese, plus a grilled cheese kids meal, the Mac Daddy, and classic mac & cheese. Every dish hit the mark - rich, comforting, and exactly what you'd hope for from a place called The Melt. The handcrafted sodas were a fun bonus. The staff's kindness really stood out. Just put this on Google but putting it here as well. I DOORDASHED from here. Probably a week or 2 ago now. It was one of the best things iv experienced all year I couldn't even take more than a few bites before I picked up my phone and called them to tell them how they are just doing amazing. They made my life worth living again with that BBQ burger and chicken fries oml I felt like I needed to be in a commercial. I hate to place a bad review as I used to come here regularly and get shakes and sandwiches . However , on 09/08/25 I ordered a sandwich - Sicilian chicken to only bite into my sandwich and to my dismay I found a piece of black plastic piece in my sandwich . I called the restaurant immediately and asked to speak with the manager ; she was the interim and said she would reach out to the regional manager . Never got a call back almost a month out now ! I am shocked at the lack of follow up - be careful eating from here for possible food and safety hazards . Poor management as well with no follow up. Would be nice to get a call back . Stopped into The Melt for the first time and had such a great experience. Timothy greeted us right away; super welcoming, genuinely friendly, and full of great recommendations. We took his advice and wow... he did not miss. I ordered the Swiss & Mushroom Burger and added jalapeños, and it was perfect. Juicy, flavorful, and the jalapeños gave it the best little kick. We also tried the Spicy Chicken and added pepperjack cheese with a side of Bacon Cheddar Ranch Fries and those were SOOOO GOOD, like dangerously good. Yesterday, my partner and I received some of the best service we've ever experienced at a quick service restaurant. Timothy in particular was an exceptional associate, he was super friendly, helpful, and conversational which is a quality seldom seen in restaurants nowadays. He greeted us at the door, checked-in on us as we ate, and said goodbye when we left. I'm absolutely loving the new location of The Melt! The vibe is perfect - cozy, modern, and welcoming. As always, the food is out of this world. The grilled cheese sandwiches are perfectly crispy, and the soups are the ideal comfort food. Plus, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we got our fries exactly how we wanted them - crispy and golden! The Melt to me is a staple of Davis. The food is wonderful and consistently amazing across the many times I have visited. The service by the staff is always welcoming and polite, and never failed to improve my mood even on the worst days. People like Leeah and the other wonderful staff of the Melt are always there to provide quality service no matter the date or time. This is the best thing I've had to eat in a hot second. I was starving and looking for anything to fill my quench and lo and behold, this beautiful restaurant came to life! Came there yesterday during lunchtime, Restaurant very clean and put together I ordered at the counter with this lovely young lady by the name of Kim she explained the menu to me in great detail and is very patient answered all questions I've had when the buzzer buzzed I came back up retrieve my food. I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger with fries and a strawberry lemonade, and all of the food was insanely good but the strawberry lemonade was AMAZING!! The service was also incredible, my order was taken by the sweetest girl by the name of Remi, who had the best enthusiasm and radiance. The staff at this establishment gave me the best service I have ever received. Francisco served my food, and even noticed when my grandmother started choking. He, preoccupied by a customer, yelled to his coworker Kim. At once, Kim rushed toward my frail grandmother and performed an expertly trained Heimlich Maneuver. Thank you The Melt for saving my elder. I tried the steak and cheese sandwich steak had a lot of great flavor was very tender. I love the bread perfectly toasted very crispy on the outside. My friend had a burger. It looked to be cooked to medium dripping and juiciness lol the music was pretty good. Seems to be a current stream in the service was decent. Husband and I had the Meltburger and the meat was flavorful, perfectly cooked and plentiful with lots of gooey cheese. Bun was soft but held up well. Parmesan fries were thin, crispy, tasty with lots of shredded parm. Craft sodas were unlimited and yummy,. loved the black cherry and the ginger beer was so tangy and gingery. That will be fun to hang out and eat your burger and fries in there, especially if A/C is provided. The cute patio is also open to leashed dogs that are well behaved. I love that they offer combos with a shake or a fountain drink. You'll find burgers, shakes, fries, chili, and hot dogs. The menu is very reasonably priced too. I got a single Lucky burger combo with a large banana peanut butter chocolate shake (you can mix flavors), upgraded to chili cheese fries, and also ordered a separate fountain drink. The cashier was very friendly, patient, and helpful. Service 10/10. Given a buzzer and found a table inside. Food came up in about 5 minutes. Good burger but had way too many onions (easy fix though). I wouldn't mind a softer bun, but it was fine. The Lucky sauce is similar to thousand island dressing, and they had a few other sauces available that I still need to try. The fries were great! Battered, seasoned, and crispy. Shake was thick and not too sweet. They use real fruit, but not sure if they use real ice cream or soft serve. Either way, it was still delicious. Willie's brings those same qualities and always hits the spot after catching a movie at the Tower Theater. It's become a tradition at this point and feels like a true Sacramento staple. The Hammer 4 with fries is the move every time. The flavors are always perfect. I didn't get them this visit, but their chili cheese fries with mustard added on top are insanely good. The service is always quick, too. They've got a system that works. Take it or leave it. If you're looking for a classic Sacramento burger spot, Willie's is tough to beat.

This visit to this location was no different-let me tell you about it. First of all the location is located in a very busy parking lot, so lots of parking is available. The location feels pretty wide open and spacious when you walk in. Lots of tables and places to sit along with a bar area for those who would rather sit there. The smells when you walk in are so wonderful, it's like a day long aroma of grilled meat has inundated the building-it's lovely. The menu is very vast, the kind of place you can come to multiple times and have a different dining experience every time. They have a really nice BBQ sauce bar available for customers to try their different sauces. On this visit we went with a chicken combo plate with a piece of BBQ Chicken and a piece of Grilled Chicken along with a serving of mac and cheese and a serving of coleslaw. I took these items to go and enjoyed them at home. The service from the employees was pretty good, my food was packaged properly and was pretty much ready when I arrived. Let's talk about the food. I'm not the biggest fan of coleslaw but the one they serve at Buckhorn continues to be one of my favorites-especially when I top it with a touch of bbq sauce-pretty dynamite. I devoured their mac n cheese-it struck a very good balance of creaminess and cheesiness and the macaroni were a perfect texture-not all mushy-I really enjoyed this side dish. The grilled chicken was my least favorite of the two chickens I tried, it was a little on the dry side but a few dips in their bbq sauce was pretty helpful in making it much better. The bbq chicken was my favorite of the two chicken dishes, coated in bbq sauce and it was very juicy with a great mix of seasoning with that awesome bbq chicken skin texture-yep this was a great bite. In closing, I would say my dining experience at Buckhorn was pretty good and I look forward to getting back there and next time maybe get their famous Tri-tip again-it's to die for!!
