I have been a fan of The Melting Pot for years, so when my anniversary came up, I was in the mood to celebrate at TMP. This restaurant is in my neighborhood, is easy to find via GPS, and is in a strip of other restaurants and businesses, so there is plenty of parking. There was also complimentary valet parking for TMP. We made a reservation for Friday night at 6pm. We parked in front of the restaurant, and were seated promptly. Our booth was quiet and private, and located next to the restaurants large wine cellar. We ordered the 4 course meal which included a cheese fondue, salad, a main entreè, and a dessert fondue. We had the cheddar cheese fondue to start, which was served with various breads, pieces of Granny Smith apples, carrots, cauliflower and tomatoes. We chose the strawberry salads, which had delicious candies pecans, feta cheese and a poppyseed dressing. For our entreè, my husband can't eat red meat, so we had lobster, shrimp, pork, pot stickers, and chicken. The entreè came with several different sauces to dip the food in once it's cooked. Seafood took between 2-3 mins and the meats took 3-5. Dessert was my favorite and was the turtle flambé which had pecans and caramel and served with rice Krispy treats, pound cake, bananas, strawberries, waffles, and brownies. Our server, Leonard, was very friendly. We were greeted by the restaurant manager who asked if we needed anything and if we were here for a special occasion. After speaking with her, we were given a nice card and complimentary champagne! This was a very nice touch. We were in and out of the restaurant in about 90 minutes, and enjoyed our meal. What a treat! It's perfect for celebrations, date nights and family gatherings. The area we sat in made us feel so special. From what I could tell, this is the case for other parties also. The menu is pretty unique. You can choose from the a la carte menu or one of the four-course dinners for 2. There were four of us and each couple selected The Complete Experience: a choice of cheese fondue, salad, entrée and chocolate fondue. Next, we selected the cooking style. My husband and I selected Mojo and the other couple (our adult daughters) selected cast iron grill. Next, we selected the type of cheese fondue, salad, entree (meats) fondue, and chocolate fondue we wanted. Initially it felt a bit overwhelming but once our server Jacob coached us, we were good; however, at times, we felt rushed. He never told us that there would be a fee for meat substitutions. The salads are the only things couples don't share. The Mojo cooking style was pretty quick (put meat on a skewer, put in pot and let cook, then eat). Coordination is required. Unfortunately, the Mojo style wasn't as flavorful as we would've preferred so we added Melting Pot garlic seasoning and salt. The cast iron cooking style took forever because our daughters preferred their meats well done. It was like watching paint dry. The food was decent however the server was super rushed and talked so fast that we were left scratching our heads as to what was going on. The only reason we knew what was happening was by overhearing the server across the aisle. Also, while there with my date (we are men) he kept making it feel like we were "bros". Do you ask straight people if they are just "hanging out" when they go out to eat to a place that is dimly lit, sharing a pot of fondue. I don't think in 2022 we need to say that we're on a date. From making me and my girlfriend laugh to the explanation of the menu and recommendations, all were well explained. What a fun way to enjoy dinner! We had a 7-person group, so we got to sample much of their food and preparation techniques. One of best aspects was they allowed the first two in our party to sit at the table, while the rest where stuck in traffic, resulting in them being a few minutes late. So many restaurants won't seat you until everyone is there; this was a nice touch that was reflection of the level of service we received. There were offerings for all in our family, from a 5 yr old to more seasoned ;) diners. We came down to the Melting Pot from our Disney hotel, and were really pleased that we did. There is a time for being the drinks, to turn on the cooktop, brings the cheese, melt the cheese, clean everything, bring the oil or broth, heat up, clean, chocolate... I've been there twice. So I try two different things. Cheeses are ok, and you can ask for more sides for your cheese, without any up charge. You have to choose how are you going to cook your meat, first time was in a broth (didn't like it) and second was fried (l liked it), and you have the sauces to dip. You can ask for more bread and vegetables, no meat, or it will be extra. Chocolate was very sweet for me. The first time, my sister wanted with the caramel, she loved it, I don't. And second time, I ordered the dark combination, it wasn't that good. We visited during Visit Orlando's Magical Dining month. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate...a little dark for my liking but it was nice. Our meal consisted of a 3 course situation starting with cheese and ended with chocolate! Lots of things to dip. We were lucky enough to be seated at a table with double warm surfaces -definitely made it easier to share each other's selections. The melting pot was an exquisite experience. We came on a Wednesday without a reservation and were promptly seated. We were celebrating my birthday and it was our first time. We were seated in a nice private area where our server Cody explained the menu and assisted us in making choices for drinks. We went with the "Bigger Night out" MOJO style. The 4 courses were Devine. Cody was a special treat who went out of her way to make it a very enjoyable experience. The manager Tom even brought over a card, greeted us and checked on us throughout the night. The flavors were incredible especially the lobster, the food is well seasoned so it is hard for even the most inexperienced cook to mess up, but you are in charge of the doneness of your meat and veggies. While it isn't an inexpensive date. I highly recommend it and believe it is worth the price. The Melting Pot is a bit challenging for me to properly review, but I had a great experience there, so let me tell you about it. My fiance and I were vacationing in Orlando and she wanted a "nice dinner." I started researching and saw the Melting Pot had good reviews. Looking at their site, eating food that cooks or is dipped into a substance is foreign to me. Still, it looks nice inside according to the pictures and it looked like an intimate setting (it is). It is pretty spendy if you want the full experience (think $98 for 2 people), but it is unique and fun. I made my reservation online. When pulling up, my fiance was very excited. She had been to the branch in Portland, OR many years ago and enjoyed it. We were seated quickly at a 2-person booth with the pot between us. Our server was Javier -- and he is awesome. If one of his bosses comes across this, Javier does excellent work. He is knowledgeable, patient, upbear, and helpful. Since it had been so long for my fiance and I had never been to this type of place, we needed Javier to walk us through the process. My fiance got a mixed drink (she liked it, but said it was strong) and we initially went for the 2-person four course meal. The first course is cheese and Javier knew all about the options. He prepared it and my fiance enjoyed eating it. I don't like cheese (that's why this is tough to review), so I didn't try it. We decided we didn't need 2 entrees and 2 salads as parr of the 4 course meal, so we asked if we could downgrade and Javier hooked us up. We got the meat lover's platter for the entree and Javier prepared the pot. We cooked out meat options and they were decent. The pot had mushrooms, so it had a strong mushroom taste which is fine, but it dominates the meat flavors. We did get a dessert pot of the turtle chocolate (hint of caramel and they light on fire briefly). It was awesome. Very tasty. Overall, this is a great place to take a date. It is intimate and unique. Javier was great and helpful and walked us through all the options. The food was good (the things I could try). It can be a bit spendy, but splitting a single entree kept the cost down. Who doesn't love the Melting Pot? I first ventured to this high end chain back in high school and have been to locations in all the states I've lived in over the years. It's always a great idea during Orlando's Magical Dining Month when you can enjoy a fabulous meal for only $35. They often have some cool happy hour specials, so be sure to check their website before you go. For a number of years my friends and I would enjoy NYE dinner here and they always put out quite the spread including champagne toasts and little gift bags that included their delicious garlic wine sauce and some to go chocolates. We decided to renew this tradition this year. Melting Pot is already set up to be very private and separated so they didn't have to change their set up dramatically for COVID. We had a reservation at 8pm and we were promptly seated. Our food was delicious as always. However, we felt very rushed. I've never had a full meal here last less than 2 hours, but tonight we were out before 10pm with 4 courses. Our server was friendly enough, but our salads were out before we were done with our cheese. Our dinner plate and oil were going before we were done with the salad. When our server came by and we weren't eating the chocolate, we said we were waiting a minute for it to warm he promptly turned it up. I felt like he wanted to get us out of there, but there didn't appear to be anyone waiting for the table, so it just sort of sullied my experience on this particular occasion. It comes with a app, salad, entree, and dessert. You choose the different fondues for each course at the beginning. For our app we got the Wisconsin Cheddar which was beer based. It was just ok. The bread for the dipping was super dry, and the veggies were just blah. Basically just a handful of raw veggies...just not something I want to eat with beer cheese. (Side note, Mellow Mushroom has the best beer cheese I've had) Salads were pretty good. I got the one with feta, and hubs got the Caesar. The entree was a variety of raw meats from shrimp, salmon, chicken, beef and others. Those were pretty good! The fondue was the Coq a Vin flavor and it was ok. I prefer my meats marinated so just a 2 min hot bath in liquid didn't cut it for me. The dipping sauces were really interesting and tasty, I enjoyed those. Our fav part was the dessert. We opted for milk chocolate, and it came with an array of sweet treats. Our favs were the rice crispies, strawberries and brownies! Overall it was just ok. Again, little too pricey for ok food. You are paying for the experience. Would definitely go back just for the dessert fondue! Also they said the packaged experience takes about 2.5 hours, which we didn't take that long to eat. I was at this location this past Thursday and we had one of the best servers ever. Her name was Tori. Her service, knowledge of the menu and food , and her general personality were amazing! The food as always was perfect. We were there celebrating my best friends birthday who had never been there. She loved it all. We had the cheese fondue with the white wine in it ( I can't remember the name) then Caesar salads followed by us both picking the Pacific Rim selection for our entree. This is my favorite of all of them because it has duck, steak and seafood. We followed this with the dark chocolate fondue ( also my favorite and my besties too). I a grew up near the original Melting Pot in Maitland and am a fan of the restaurant. Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing dining experience. Despite having reservations for two, we were seated in the part of the restaurant they use for large events/parties, with harsh lighting and an awkward huge seating area. Dinner at a Melting Pot is usually a cozy and intimate experience, but this felt like eating at some large event venue. If they can't seat a small party in a fitting part of the restaurant, they shouldn't accept the reservation. In hindsight I wish we had just passed and left, but they take a deposit for making a reservation. I don't know that I'll return to a Melting Pot, and certainly not this one again. read more

We go to Melting Pot all the time but I was realizing that my favorite parts were really the Cheese and the Chocolate and I wasn't a big fan of the entrees. I've gotten just the cheese and chocolate before and eaten salad while the rest of my family was cooking their meals, but was excited to find that this location has a lunch special on the weekends. On Saturdays and Sundays, from 12 to 3 pm, you can get Cheese fondue, a salad, and Chocolate fondue for $24 (basically get the salad for free). I brought my son and we had a great time and it was just the right size lunch for me. We got the Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese fondue which is my favorite with the beer base, mustard powder, garlic and Worcestershire sauce; you get breads, carrots, cauliflower and apples to dip. We both got the MP House Salad with Peppercorn Ranch, which comes with egg, cheese and crotons. [I wish they still had the Mushroom Salad, that was my absolute favorite]. For dessert, we went with the Original Chocolate Fondue with milk chocolate and crunchy peanut butter. This is served with fruit, marshmallows, brownies, cake and other goodies to dip. We got seated quickly and the food came out quickly and they explained everything very Well. We got the pleasure of having Harrison as our server and he was A+++ he was super nice, made sure we were always checked in on and def took care of us. Ehhhhhhh x 100000 You really gotta buy into (emphasis on BUY because this is some expensive cheese) this concept to enjoy the experience. And so I am not the target guest. All that aside I had a very less than mediocre experience dining at this Melting Pot. We went on Christmas Eve and I'm sure it was more crowded than usual and so I will happily excuse the slow service for this alone. Buuuuuuut as a whole the experience was not there. Our server made our fondue at the table (this whole performance is part of the charade, okay fair, I get it) and he was funny I guess - except he exposed what a joke the place was. He explained that the wine they use for the cheese wouldn't be suitable for drinking, and he even made a point to bring to our attention they're using dried garlic. Now I felt like real clown face emoji for spending $30 on shredded cheese, a splash of cheap wine, and garlic powder, accompanied by (and I am being completely serious with this) an apple SLICE cut in half, a quarter of a piece of celery, a couple infant carrots, and barely a handful of bread pieces. Wut? And no pumpernickel or rye bread in sight. We did ask for additional bread but by the time we got it the cheese was not as fondue-y. The cheese tasted good, not that cheese takes much to taste good. The entree I could have done without altogether, the broth you essentially poach your protein in is super salty and feels unnecessary. They also don't tell you how long to cook things for. The bar is pretty, it looks recently remodeled. I've been hearing about this place for years from my cousin. The concept is that you cook your own meat of choice in a broth of your choosing, but you also have the option of a cast iron skillet if you prefer. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the cast iron skillet (I'll get to that later). It's a three course meal plus dessert, and you get picks with different colors so you know which is yours when cooking among the others in your party. The restaurant has dimmed lighting, and I hear they have more private booth for anniversaries and special occasions, but I would recommend you make a reservation in advance. The service was top notch from both the manager and our server Robert. When I checked in through Yelp, it gave me an offer of a box of chocolate covered strawberries if the bill went over a certain amount. I was telling the my group about it when the manager brings the box. Apparently he had glanced at the offer while walking by and brought the box over. Good attention to detail. Now for the food. First is the fondue. I was in a party of 4, so we got two pots. One was the Wisconsin cheddar, and I don't remember the other one. Your servers preps the fondue for you. They provide small pieces of bread, apples, and veggies to dip in the cheese. That was pretty good. That was my first time trying fondue. Second is the salad. I'm not one for salads if I'm honest, but this salad was good! I got the house salad with ranch. Third is the meat. You choose your method of cooking and broth ahead of time. Same with the meat. You have options such as all meats, which are various cuts of meat, land and sea which is a combination of sea food, red meat, and chicken. Since we could choose two options, I wanted one to be the cast iron, since I don't care for the taste and texture of boiled meat. The rest of the party wanted to try another broth. At the end we all agreed that we should've gone with the cast iron, since we didn't care for the second broth. It was a mushroom one. This was my least favorite part of the dinner, but that's because I don't care for boiled meat. On of the broth was a MOJO, which was the preferred one at the table. Dessert, my favorite part. On of the people in the party doesn't like chocolate, so we went for the white chocolate, and the Ying Yang (dark and white chocolate). They bring pieces of brownie, brookie, pound cake, rice Krispy treat, waffle, marshmallows, strawberries, and banana so you can dip in the chocolate. I would've liked more brownies and brookies, and I think we could've asked for more of something specific, but we didn't. This was delicious! The Melting Pot is a nice restaurant for a date. I had a good experience, even if I didn't like the main course, which is the meat. Again, I don't like boiled meat. I probably would've liked it had my party been willing to do the cast iron skillet, so I'm not subtracting any stars because of it. The service was great, the ambience was great. I had one of their spirit-free drinks, and that was very good and refreshing. I would like to come back and try the cast iron skillet. I'm sure I'll like this place even more when I do. Oh, and keep in mind that you'll leave the restaurant smelling like food. read more
