I hadn't been here in a while and had been wanting to visit during happy hour, but the timing never worked since I live about two hours away. For our first wedding anniversary, we decided to just go for it and try the 4-course menu. The menu had a great variety of options without feeling overwhelming, and I knew exactly what I wanted. The food came out pretty quickly and was very good, and the pricing felt reasonable for the experience. The restaurant has a dark but modern design. The music was very low in volume, almost a bit awkward. I could barely hear it, so maybe turning it up slightly would improve the ambiance. The service was a 10/10 very attentive, perfectly timed, and polite. When our original server went on lunch, another server took over and was just as sweet and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. She even helped customize my chocolate fondue order. I prefer dark chocolate with peanut butter, so she swapped out the milk chocolate for dark chocolate, which I really appreciated. We came to The Melting Pot on a Dine Sacramento deal, and broadway night energy was in the air. The house was packed, the crowd buzzing, and judging by the stack of Lion King playbills in patrons' hands, we were dining alongside a chorus of theatergoers fresh from the savanna. Curtain up. Act I was a delight. The interactive fondue experience felt novel and charming, like being invited onto the stage yourself. The Wisconsin cheddar was the showstopper.. rich, gooey, and gone in a flash. One moment it was bubbling before us, the next it had vanished, applause implied, straight into our bellies. Act II, however, lost a bit of momentum. The main course leaned more toward an Asian hot pot vibe: choose your broth, cook your own food. The meats arrived marinated and raw and in rather large chunks, feeling less curated and more like a culinary hodgepodge. The supporting cast of dipping sauces was plentiful, but their performances were... fine. No real soloists here. The finale saved the night. Dessert wasn't part of the deal, but we wisely opted for an encore. Dark and dulce chocolate took the stage, coating our now-warm bellies and sending us out on a sweet, satisfying note. All told, the opening and closing numbers were strong, memorable, and worth the ticket price. The middle act dragged a little, but I can see why this show runs long--especially for date nights or big groups looking for something interactive and fun. Fondue fun! We were celebrating two birthdays and made reservations for 7 people. There were two hot plates at the table, so for each course we had a choice of two different fondue options. My husband and I split the classic 4 course meal, and we each got to choose our own salad and entree meat options. It was a pretty good deal for the amount of food that is served. It was a fun experience (first time for me), and you're basically getting dinner and a show! Everything was pretty tasty, and they have an app to help guide you on how long to cook each item. It's a bit of work, but the interaction element is part of the fun! It's not the most delicious food ever, but I think it still hits the mark, and the novelty of fondue is really what makes the experience special. One can definitely have an enjoyable meal at The Melting Pot, especially with multiple people. The fondue style makes the experience interactive and fun, and it naturally works well for groups, celebrations, or a longer relaxed dinner where the focus is as much on the experience as the food. That said, average is still average. The food is fine and does what it's supposed to do, but for the price point it feels on the expensive side for what you're getting. You're really paying for the concept and the time spent at the table more than standout flavors or value. Table service has consistently been good and attentive, which is appreciated and probably the strongest part of the experience. Unfortunately, the front of the restaurant has not lived up to that same standard. Check in and initial interactions have felt less polished and not on par with the service once seated. Overall, it's a solid option for a group night out where the fondue experience is the main draw. For me, it lands squarely in the average category and isn't a place I'd go out of my way to visit given the cost. read more

Mon Cheri! Deliciousness!!! I came here on a dessert date with one of my girlfriends a few evenings ago. We tried the dark and dulce chocolate fondue. I finally got to try The Melting Pot and it lived up to the hype! They have a four course dinner in which you have: cheese fondue, salad, various entrees, and chocolate fondue. The starting cheese fondue was amazing and you have plenty of styles to choose from. We tried the signature Classic Alpine and loved how rich and nutty it was. You get various fruits and bread to dip into it. The salads were pretty solid. I especially loved the strawberry almond salad. The raspberry walnut vinaigrette with fresh greens and strawberries was a nice shift before the main course. For the main course, we decided to go with the Coq Au Vin cooking style, which was rich in mushroom and garlic flavors. It paired well with steaks and the duck breast especially. They do suggest cooking times, which was helpful. For dessert, we went with pure dark chocolate. The variety in items you get to dip into it was enjoyable, especially the fresh fruit. Full disclosure: this is my daughter's favorite restaurant so we have been here a half dozen times or so. I said that I would take her to dinner, her choice, to celebrate her new job. I did the requisite reservations online and in the 'notes' section mentioned the reason. When we were shown our table, I honestly thought it was a joke. It's like they took a curved booth and put a wall down the middle. It was also at the end of a walkway so everyone walking to their table had a straight view of us and our table. The feng shui was very off. I mentioned to the hostess that we would be happy to wait for a table but were told that they were fully booked. Honestly it is the worst table I have ever had in a restaurant. Our cheerful and energetic waiter felt badly for us (it wasn't his fault) and said he would do his best to still make our evening memorable. He asked what brought us there. Hmmm...what's the point of putting in the reason for the reservation if folks don't read the notes??? I can't speak about how the food was cooked because, oh wait, you cook it yourself. I can speak to how it was cut up and the presentation -- the meat was great, everything looked fresh. Kind of odd to feature baby carrots as a vegetable for cheese fondue but maybe that's a thing now. I don't do dairy so we opted for the vegan cheese -- this is why this place gets three stars, it was fantastic! They should mention that they validate the parking next door -- it is not on their website either. I would have parked in the garage but instead did street parking. I needed the walk and didn't think we would be there for very long. Instead, I ended up with a parking ticket, so I mentally added $72 to my tab. Long story short, won't be coming back. We were seated in a small, intimate booth, which was very nice and comfortable. Our server, Carter, was great and patient as it's been a minute since we've been there and had to get through the extensive menu. The food was fresh, seasoned well and tasted so very good with the various sauces. We ordered surf and turf and Pacific Rim, to give us a good variety, it was soooo good! My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary on a Tuesday night. We made reservations and were greeted as we walked in and were seated shortly after checking in. We decided to do the dinner for two and it was an amazing experience. Our waiter was super attentive and helpful with going over everything. My boyfriend ordered the melting pot mule and it was delicious! I really like the addition of the ginger liqueur it really added an extra punch. We did the classic alpine for our cheese fondue, my favorite item to dip was the apples and bread. The cheese was super flavorful and delicious and I felt like I could taste hints of wine in the cheese. For salad I got the house salad and my boyfriend got the California salad. I really liked the dressing on mine, it was a mustard based dressing but not too overpowering. For entree my boyfriend got the land and sea and I went with the garden pot option, I'm really happy to know there are vegetarian options here! For cooking style we chose the mojo! The fondue for our entrees was rich in flavor, we didn't need to cook our food for that long but we ended up leaving some of the veggies in the pot longer to soak up the juices. My favorite part was dipping our items in all the different sauces when we were done cooking, it was hard to pick a favorite but I think I like the plum sauce the best! Lastly we ordered our dessert fondue which was the s'mores. This fondue was decadent and smooth. So many different items were give to dip, I really like the marshmallows covered in Oreos and the pound cake but I'm also a sucker for strawberries and chocolate so that was also a highlight. Overall this experience was excellent, we had great food, service and the timing of all our food was great, with enough time between each course to enjoy the next. I love this place but it was his first time and she gave us a nice rundown of the process. She was very kind and funny and just overall a sweet and lovely waitress. The food was amazing, as always. He got the steak lovers and i did the classic with Mojo, spinach artichoke, and s'mores to finish off. January is my birthday month so needless to say there was A LOT of eating, drinking, laughing and all things celebration going on this last month. One place that I love to hit every year (even though it's not kind on the waistline) is the melting pot. This year, my daughter and I went with some dear dear friends. We met when our daughters were 2 yrs old and we make it a thing to celebrate our bdays together yearly (we're born 2 days apart) . We tried all the things! Started off with the Gruyère fondue that we dipped all sorts of breads and veggies and then moved on to the various cuts of steak in a broth fondue (can't recall name off hand but delish) and then our girls fave course was the dessert! We got the s'mores fondue and dipped all sorts of goodies (strawberries, brownies, marshmallows. Bananas & rice crispies) our server was excellent and attentive and I so wish I could remember her name. Another fun aspect of the melting pot is the box of Chocolate covered strawberries that they gift you on your bday if you're a melting pot member....sp fresh and so yummy! Pics below to prove it!! Fail. - October 22, 2025 at 9:00 pm. Me and my family of 5 in total walk in. Our reservation was at 8:50 pm so we were late. We walk in, they said it's ok for being late - 10 minute cancelation fee. So, we walk in. We are immediately seated, the seat was SMALL and there was only ONE other party of 3-4 people so.... This place was EMPTY. We waited and watched as our waiter IGNORED us and talked to the other people. Finally ordered our food and... Waited an HOUR just for the cheese. This restaurant is usually open for dinners but has extended their hours for the holiday season. Reservations are recommended but having been placed next to a parking facility, there are no parking concerns. We were seating upon our arrival and enjoyed the darkened ambiance. The menus are designed for even number of patrons... 2, 4, or 6. Granted any number of guests can and will enjoy this eateries fine food. Each course was delicious. Being fondue where you cook your own meals, it was rather enjoyable to do so. The restaurant itself is designed to be social and I would recommend it to anyone. This was an experience. I went with a bunch of high school girlfriends for our annual Friendsgiving. We had a feast. Everything was delicious. The fiesta cheese was fire. So were the deserts!! I thought that the s'mores chocolate sauce was a little bit too sweet for my liking, (I got out voted ) but the turtle one was delicious. I would definitely go here again. This is such a great location for an intimate date night. Loved the small intimate booths for a romantic dinner for two. The foods ok but more about the experience. I've been a few times and from a budget and experience standpoint I suggest just doing the cheese and dessert. The main course isn't worth the price and the salads are very underwhelming. Our server was nice enough though lacked engagement and more often than not our glasses were left empty. In the end, do it for the experience but also know you're paying for the atmosphere not necessarily to walk away full which of on a date night might not be the most horrible decision if factoring in after dinner activities. *wink* read more

We were there for 4hrs and waddled out of there with food coma. The manager was tending the bar when we first got there and we had great conversations. I've been to Melting Pot a lot of times over the course of many, many years and have been to several different locations, in California and outside of CA, so I have a lot of experiences dining at Melting Pot. For starters - Melting Pots in California are the worst. The experience of not getting the cheese and chocolate made table side is a total downside to coming to a CA location. The waitress this time did inform us that they are now "finishing" the cheese and chocolate table side, but putting a few dashes of something in the cheese and adding pepper, is hardly finishing it table side. Also, I made a reservation and informed the hostess that we were celebrating birthdays (again, I have been to MP for birthdays for years). When we first arrived the host did wish us a happy birthday, but that was the extent of the acknowledgment. Our server never acknowledged that we were celebrating birthdays. I had to inform her at the end of the meal. All other times we have received a chocolate covered strawberry with Happy Birthday written on the plate. Not this time however. Also, I had a coupon for 6 complimentary chocolate covered strawberries as part of being apart of the rewards club. I called in advance (per the emailed instructions) and informed the hostess that I spoke to that I had this coupon and would like to redeem it during my upcoming reservation. I was told it was noted on my reservation and that everything would be good to go once I came in for my reservation. No one ever acknowledged this until I remembered at the very end of our meal. We were also originally charged $18 for these strawberries and had to inform the server of this so that I could be removed from the bill. Overall, the food is always really good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I am so happy they still have, The Melting Pot available. My husband and I use to dine out at the one on Larkspur before they permanently closed it, back when we where in our dating mode. An early valentines dinner from my hubby to me. Before Valentine's Day! We had to beat Valentine's Day traffic haha. The atmosphere, is cozy and romantic. Totally my type of vibe, I like how you get your own private table. The only downside to this is I wish our table was decorated with red rose petals. Also chocolate covered strawberries. Would have been a beautiful experience. Aside from the red rose petals, and the chocolate covered strawberries. We still had a beautiful and fun experience. Funny good times always. The food is always amazing, probably better then Larksburg experience. Even though I do like the underground, type of vibe at Larkspur. Went here after seeing a show across the street at Broadway Circus (Spongebob Musical). My friend Michelle had been here before, but it was my first time. What an amazing experience. Thank you to our server Carter for outstanding customer service. We ended up getting a cheese fondue and chocolate fondue. I like that they let us choose the color of our skewer sticks too, fun touch. We got the spinach artichoke dip and the s'mores dip. The green apples with the spinach dip was so yummy. I also enjoyed the soft pretzel. For dessert, all the dippers were incredible but the standouts for me were the blondies, waffles, and cream puffs (you get 4 for an extra $3.25). I really enjoyed this- I don't think I would ever need to do the full course...I would return for cheese and chocolate or maybe just for dessert, but the entrees just seem to be too much. He proceeded to tell us that someone must have canceled since the time the host said no to accepting us to the time I submitted the reservation. Came here for my birthday and wasn't impressed. It was my first experience with French fondue so maybe I just didn't get it. The first course of cheese fondue was alright, we got the Wisconsin cheddar. Second course of meat fondue was where it fell short. We got the Coq au vin, which just tasted like hot red wine, and filet mignon, duck breast and mushroom ravioli. The duck would've been ok but it had a strong orange and clove flavor, filet mignon was way too tough, and the ravioli was just bland and soggy, even after a short cooking time. Service was great, ambiance was lovely and the love martini was good. I let the staff know I wasn't impressed with the coq au vin and they were kind enough to take it off the tab. Made same-day reservations (credit card required) for 5:45 PM on Opentable for dinner for 2 with Yelp Elite Aubrey R. I included in my reservation notes that there was a birthday and that we were also attending the 7:30 PM showing of Hadestown. Already had SacPark advanced reservations at the Capitol Garage on 10th and L and walked over, otherwise, I would have parked at the Memorial Garage for the validation. They have a 15-minute grace period for arrival following the reservation time, and I did confirm via text message that we were on our way. Also, your entire party must be present in order to be seated. No-shows will be subject to a charge of $10 per person. Average dining times are 2+ hours depending on party size, so please plan accordingly. Seated right away, and the birthday and show notes/special requirements indicated in the reservation were verbally acknowledged by the front of the house and the server. Our particular single cooktop/burner had a persistent beeping sound after it was turned on, disclosed by the waitress and although she offered to move us to another booth if it bothered us, it wasn't a huge deal and in the interest of time we stuck it out. We decided on a la carte, just one small cheese fondue and one small chocolate fondue to make the meal. If we didn't have the show to get to, there are definitely other special occasion packages with 3 or 4 courses included. Started with the Wisconsin Cheddar cheese fondue which came with dippers such as green apples, soft pretzels, bread, sweet peppers, baby carrots, and grape/cherry tomatoes. For the dessert fondue, we picked the Yin & Yang which had white chocolate, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate and came with dippers like Rice Krispie Treats, pound cake, blondies, brownies, Oreo-covered marshmallows, banana slices and strawberry slices. For the birthday celebrant, they also brought out a chocolate-covered strawberry! This was just the right amount for two people to share, although it was borderline too filling as evidenced by the mini struggle walking post-dinner to the theater with our food-babies.
