I really had higher hopes for this restaurant. I was not expecting the ticket to be 365 dollars for 4 people, Granted it was New Year's Eve and there was a set price for everything. It took us 4.5 hours to get through all 4 courses, the service was very slow for the time of night it was. I guess maybe i just don't understand, but i think it's kind of ridiculous to pay almost 400 dollars for some subpar meat that you have to cook yourself, melted cheese with cut up bread and vegetables, and overpriced drinks. 12 dollars for a rebull vodka.. to add to that the waiter was very rude to my fiancé when she asked for it...We ended up leaving before we finished all 4 courses. Was our second time here to recreate a special moment for our 1 year anniversary. The food was good however the service sucked really really bad. The hostess was better for us than our waitress. We were celebrating our 1 year anniversary being together and soon to be married yet the waitress insisted on telling us how much marriage sucked! I'd been to the Melting Pot several times before in other cities but this was my first time going to the one in Savannah. We went for happy hour which I highly recommend. It's 5-7 M-F and $5/person for cheese and the same for chocolate. Personally cheese and chocolate is all I want and need. I don't eat meat and the one vegetarian entree doesn't appeal to me that much. But the biggest reason is I just don't have room for it--cheese and chocolate are plenty filling. So I really don't recommend doing the full 4 courses. As others have said the restaurant is pretty expensive but if you go during happy hour it's a great deal or in general if you just don't get an entree it's really not necessary. We got the Wisconsin Trio for our cheese. You can't taste the blue cheese that much (to me a good thing). I really like this one but I've also had most of the other ones and enjoyed them as well. This location also has an add-on which is a small plate of meats like salami and sausages for I think $2.50? My meat-eating companion got that and really enjoyed it. I think it was a good value. They bring you cubes of bread, carrots and broccoli, and grapes, and you can always ask for more of those dippers with no extra cost. For our chocolate we got the Cookies and Cream. This was my first time having this one and I really enjoyed it. It was dark chocolate with marshmallow cream and you could really taste the marshmallow, unlike the S'mores one. It also had pieces of Oreos in it which added a nice crunch. They served the chocolate fondue with brownies, pound cake, marshmallows, strawberries, blondies, and pineapple. You can also ask for extra of these dippers if you run out. Our server was very friendly. I've noticed the servers at this chain are always really friendly and social, which makes sense since they spend time preparing your food at the table. Overall it was a fun and delicious experience. The restaurant feels special and more romantic and if you avoid getting the entrees you can experience it for the same price as a casual dining establishment. read more

If you've been to one Melting Pot, you've been to them all. Maybe. Yes, this is the same restaurant that you've likely experienced in other cities. I've been to several myself, and while on vacation, I typically don't like to go to chain restaurants, but this one is certainly worth the stop. First of all, understand that Southern hospitality goes a long way at a place like this. AND this Melting Pot is a test site, which means that they frequently have foods that the other Melting Pots do not. My family recently visited, celebrating my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed. Our kids had fun as they experienced fondue for the first time. This place is so cool! We came here for dinner and at the four course meal he started with the champion special cheese dip which was delicious. My husband ordered an orchard salad and I got a house salad, simple but done right. Next we picked some meats and all for our entrée. I highly recommend the garlic chicken teriyaki steak. We chose to do the food you brought which was delicious but it had a kick so if you don't like spicy maybe try something else. Then the absolute best part was we had decided on the Smore's chocolate fondue. Oh my god this was heaven on earth!! I also ordered a sour patch martini which was delicious I couldn't stop drinking it. The service was great and the atmosphere was warm and romantic. We came here on thanksgiving of all times. I hadn't been to the Melting pot since college! Started off on the wrong foot but it was quickly resolved. The hostess sat us in a dark back room with no one else, even when we asked to be seated in a more lively place with booth seating. We asked again to be moved and the new table was great! The dinner was an overall good experience. We ordered the 4-course, which included the cheese fondue (Wisconsin cheese), salad, surf and turf and finished with the dark chocolate, sea salt fondue. The best by far was the Wisconsin cheese with the various breads, veggies and fruit for dipping. Also the dark chocolate dessert was delicious. The big disappointment though was the coffee machine was BROKEN and had been apparently for a month. Perhaps they should get another one bc coffee and dessert pair together perfectly. Really disappointing restaurant. We had the craze combo $23.95: bacon & Gorgonzola cheese fondue, salad, and banana fosters chocolate fondue. The cheese fondue had way too much wine (~1/2 pot full) that didn't evaporate so it tasted bitter. The flavor of the wine did not go with that of the cheese. We were only given a small dish of vegetables (~4 pieces of broccoli, cauliflower, celery), green apple chunks, and bread to share among 4 people. It seemed like the same amount would be served for 1-2 people. Salad: orchard and chopped salads were bad. The salads were all very small. The chopped salad was nothing like any other chopped salads I've had - ingredients were not chopped into cubes and the flavor was not like your typical chopped salad. Chocolate fondue: banana fosters. It was extremely sweet, not too chocolaty. There was a nice portion of sweets shared by 2. Service was extremely slow. It took probably 10 minutes for our waitress to get a beer. After our dishes were collected, we didn't' see another server for a good half hour so we couldn't even ask for the check from our seats. Our water glasses were occasionally empty because they were so busy/nobody checked on our big party frequently. And, because we had more than 6 people, there was a 20% tip added to our bill. I'll be doing a live update as I'm dining. I am here with my two young daughters for mother's day. We made reservations on open table. The reservation time was 7pm. For a summary scroll to the bottom. As of now we've been in the waiting area for 20 minutes. I was half an hour early. The hostess is out of her wits, stressed out. She's being short with customers, but I'm not sure if that's a result of her unnecessary stress or her personality. No one else is stressing. It seems very slow paced. Yes they are booked up, but there's no line, no pushy customers, they don't appear to be behind. We have just been seated. The lady seating us was sure to tell us the burner was being turned on and would be hot from here out. The server came up and introduced himself within a minute of sitting down. Austin will be our server tonight. Now I'm starting to get the impression the servers are feeling rushed. He was very quick to the point, but very polite and a bit quirky. I love me a quirky server. I informed him that the menu here always confuses me. Luckily they have a mother's day special that makes ordering a little easier. Austin walked me through the individual choices and I'm very excited to receive the first portion... The cheese! Austin came back and started pouring liquids into the fondue pot. I was leaning over the table playing word search with the yougin. He didn't really warn us to move. Some salsa splashed onto my oldest daughter's drawing, but it came right off. Austin made a silly comment, and we're back to coloring. The cheese is made. I got the fiesta or whatever they call the Mexican style. I like it. Its just slightly spicy. Be warned, the closer you get to the bottom the hotter the cheese gets. It's also getting a little bit spicier. The last bite was spicy!! After listening to another server I just realized Austin didn't go over what kind of bread and veggies were on the plate like they usually do. It's not a big deal for me, but a first timer would probably like to know. Plus it just makes the server seem more attentive. Ok I just got my salad. The nuts are supposed to be candied and they aren't. The server was nice about it. They simply ran out. It's a busy holiday for them. I guess I'll be understanding about this. Despite then being the best part of the salad. :-P The broth is now on the table. It's come to a boil, but the entree is not here yet. It smells really nice. I'd like to eat it now. Or rather the food boiled inside of it. It's here! Austin did go over everything with us this time. My oldest got lobster ravioli. The youngin got shrimp. And I have the beef, shrimp, and chicken. And after chasing my daughters ravioli around the water I realized he forgot the spoon to retrieve food that falls off the fork. I've just been informed they are out of spoon. This is not good. The broth is too spicy for the little one. And now she's crying. Things are going downhill fast. We have gotten a spoon so at least I can fish out the ravioli. My oldest has run out of water and we haven't seen the server for a few minutes. I just asked which kind of broth we got. It is the court bouillon. Not supposed to be spicy, but sometimes a little peppery. I forgot to ask for water. My phone died so I have to continue this review now that I'm at home. The server disappeared for a while. The youngin fell asleep, thank the heavens. We finally got another server to refill our water and take all the dishes away. After a while Austin came back and we got our dessert. There wasn't as much chocolate as normal. Maybe because of the special. Or maybe they were running out of that too. Austin asked if we wanted another plate of dessert to dip for only $1 more, but I declined. I soon regretted my decision, once the fruit and desserts were gone but the chocolate wasn't. So we upgraded. A man, who I can only imagine was the manager, came up to ask how our night was. I appreciated that. The bill was only half as much as I normally spend there, because of the mother's day special. What I've learned from this experience is... Do not bring young, exhausted, or picky children. Do not dine at the busiest time of the night. Especially on a holiday. Ask lots of questions and get recommendations from the servers. This is a nice restaurant. I think this was my 2nd Melting Pot visit in my life and while it's a fun experience, I now remember it's over-priced. It's good and I enjoyed that dinner actually took awhile to experience, but the bill sure got high with a few drinks and add ons. I guess they need to charge more because tables turn over slowly. My lemon blueberry mojitoes were amazingly tasty and the food was good. We were on vacation so it was our Thanksgiving dinner and it was nice. Downfalls besides price was the dining rooms are kinda secluded and had no windows. We wanted to see at booth in bar where there were windows, but they weren't seating people there. Other negative was their coffee machine had been down for a month the waitress said. What???? Get a Mr Coffee from Target then, hello. This was my first time at any of the melting pot locations and it was terrible. Way overpriced, I paid $20 for what looked and tasted like microwaved eggs and some bacon that I'm not even sure was real. Then On top of that, the waiter charged us $20 for the bottomless mimosas when on the menu it said they were $10, and when we questioned him about it he said that the mimosas were only $10 if you purchased the 3 course brunch. When we told him this was not listed ANYWHERE on the menu the waiter just said "oh that's what we do here we changed our menus so it might not be printed on there". I'm sorry but if it's not listed on the menu anywhere I don't think we should have to take his word and be charged $10 extra because he said so!! Ridiculous!!!! The food was terrible and over priced and we got bamboozled into paying more for our drinks than was listed on the menu. Apparently this is one of few melting pot locations testing out a brunch menu but if the food and service is as bad as it was I don't see that lasting very long here!! While making reservations for 4 adults and a 2 year old, we asked if children we're welcome and were told yes. First off, when we were seated, there wasn't room for the baby at the table, so she was shoved back against the wall. The server gave her markers and paper to keep her entertained. At some point, the server didn't like what she was doing with the marker and proceeded to slap it out of her hand. We were here to celebrate Mothers Day and arrange ahead of time to use a coupon we had for chocolate covered strawberries that were sitting in the table when we arrived. They looked amazing. Our server Dominique was very personable and gave us time to just relax and order when we were ready. She did give me the wrong salad but hat was ok because the salads were very good!
