Went here for the first time the other night and quite enjoyed my dinner. The inside is dark and no frills. Looks like your typical New Englandesque small restaurant. There is a large bar to sit at and an ample amount of tables and some booths. We were sat in one of the booths. There are large tvs mounted behind the bar for you sports enthusiasts. They also have outaide seating available too. This place definitely comes off as a townie hangout and not in a bad way. Everyone seems like they come in and make their rounds saying hi to others before sitting for a meal or a drink. Our waitress took a minute but was great. She gor our drinks, app and food all in great time. She was also friendly. My main meal was Shrimp & Mussels Fra Diavolo. I was plesantly surprised. The sauce had the perfect amount of kick. There was a solid amount of shrimp and mussels on my plate. I was unable to finish my plate, portions were plentiful. Price was on par with portions. My husband and I enjoyed a nice night out on the patio at The Mill. It is the perfect place for outdoor dining in the summer - there aren't enough outdoor eating areas in this part of town! We enjoyed a drink or two and watched the sun go down. The patio is well-lit when it's dark, as well. We ordered the Smokehouse Lasagna at the recommendation of several other reviewers - it was absolutely heavenly. There is something very unique about the smoky flavor. It's not your typical Italian lasagna, but it doesn't actually taste like BBQ, either - it's the perfect combination. We also ordered the Bistecca Pasta with gorgonzola sauce, and it was wonderful as well. We finished our meal with the apple dough dessert. It was a bit rich after all of the pasta for dinner, but the flavorful apple topping and cinnamon balanced out the greasiness of the dough well. Definitely happy we made room for it. The service was very good as well - our waitress was attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back! read more

driven past here many times and even been in a previous life....but again today....lots of eating areas and a big sports type bar area with plentiful tvs...sat at the bar...service was pleasant...food was very good, smoked salmon salad was excellent and not what we expected, pretty tasty, even by me who is not a big salmon fan though i tend to like smoked fish, burger was very good as was the Brunswick stew soup,,,,, glad we came here...band was setting up for tonight so it should be interesting later on........... read more

We loved it. We'd never been there before just because we didn't think of it. From the outside appearance we expected an older style restaurant, but inside was clean, fresh, friendly, the food was good, and the prices reasonable. They also have Keno, big TVs, and there was live music (Friday night), but it was nice not obnoxious. Family friendly, with the ability to hang out at the same time. Been here about 6 times. Always sit downstairs in the bar. Free mini appetizers of cheese and crackers. Drinks are great and full menu is available. Nice seating overlooking the stream that runs beneath the restaurant. Crackling fire in huge stone fireplace. Old antique mill with huge wood beams and squeaky floors. Service is good. Spinach dip was tasty, although both the dip and chips were a little oily. The pulled pork nachos were delicious too. Combo platter was meh... typical combination of items. I wasn't impressed by the fried mozzarella or chicken tenders (of the sauces that were offered with them). Strawberry lemonade mixed drink was tasty but I didn't find it strong like some have noted in their reviews of the drinks. I would return to try the entrees. We sat on the patio but on the short walk through the entry doors I did notice an odd smell... kind of musty. read more

This is a great place for a casual dining experience with comfort food. If you like nachos than I would highly recommend the nachos with pulled pork. Family friendly and very nice wait staff. We met family here for lunch today as its about half way between our home and theirs. None of us have visited before but decided to try based on other Yelp reviews. We thought the menu was wide ranging enough to please all tastes and preferences in our party and we we not disappointed. We arrived at noon and seated immediately away from the bar (our choice). The waitress was prompt attentive throughout and we didn't feel at all ignored sitting by ourselves. The room was bright and pleasant and the food good. We ordered Steak Salad, grilled chicken sandwich, pulled pork and Chicken Francaise. Everyone enjoyed their meal; the only off note was that side relish with pulled pork was in a small plastic cup. Why?? For dessert we had a cannoli (freshly made to order) a brownie sundae and creme brulee. They were excellent! Overall a good experience but prices seemed a bit high for food. If we were in the area again we might stop by. If you live local and haven't been it would be a good spot. read more

Stopped in to give The Mill another shot. Only ordered and appetizer since we weren't too hungry. But what we did, get was delish! We had the mussels appetizer and the bartender Bobbie suggested her favorite sauce, which was the Bianco white wine sauce. She also suggested a side of the garlic bread to "sop" up the sauce. YUM! Sometimes you just have to give a place a few try's and this one is worth another shot. Next time I will make it a point to go there hungry! I love the mill! Come here often, and never leave without a full belly and satisfaction. Friendly staff, great food and a really relaxed atmosphere! We were looking for a restaurant in the area to go see the lights at Towerhill Botantical Garden and I saw this had good ratings on Yelp. It was a Sunday evening, so it wasn't too busy and we got sat right away. The seats we were in were by the bathroom, so a lot of traffic past us. We ordered what we thought was going to be a "big" pretzel, but instead ended up being 5 very sad, soft pretzel sticks, with mustard and cheese sauce. Truly a terrible presentation. The pretzels had no salt on it, so we had to use the sauces and they were a bit too chewy for a soft pretzel. We then had the Meatloaf Sandwich and BBQ Pork Quesadilla for our meals. Both were very good tasting. The reason for the low ratings was based on the pretzels and not so great service. I had to wait about 10+ minutes to get a drink from the bar, as well as another 10 mintues to get a glass of water. "Those pretzels were making me thirsty!" ;) read more

The Mill catered our wedding and from beginning to end, it was an amazing experience. Tony (the owner) contacted us regularly to see if we had any questions. At our food tasting, he was so accommodating and helped us to make decisions that best suited our guests. Our wedding was across the street and Tony coordinated with our venue to ensure an amazing time. He even had 4 servers at our venue to make sure all of our guests were served properly. We now eat regularly at the Mill and are always so happy with the food! My suggestion...try the lasagna! read more

We were starving, and after looking about a bit, cracked open Yelp, and found The Mill...my daughter asked why we were at a Chinese Gas Station as we pulled up lol, I guess we were all a little unsure but decided to trust other Yelp reviewers who liked it. My husband and I ordered the $8.99 Chicken marsala and picatta, hoping for the best....Deliciouso!! My kids loved their selections as well, and the bill was under 40 bucks for 4 hungry people...Good food and a good value...the digs are a little run down, and that was our only negative.. read more

As I was planning a staff appreciation event, I took a leap of faith to have the Mill cater the part based on proximity and reviews. I'm so glad we did!!! It was easy to work with Tony to plan the event. He provided equipment to keep things warm, dropped off, set up, and picked up the food and platters - all included with the cost of food, which was very reasonable. Staff appreciated the variety and quality of food, especially the tasty vegetarian items. The mini cannolis, spinach puffs, veggie egg rolls, and eggplant caponata were definite highlights. We will definitely call The Mill for our next function and I can't wait to try them for dinner soon. read more

Just went to The Mill a couple nights ago with some family who live up here, and we had a really nice meal! First, I'll point out that walking into this place felt like going through a time warp. It has an old school feel to it, which may or may not work for some people, but as others have said, the uber-friendly service quickly makes you forget about the decor. I ordered the smoked brisket, which was excellent. This was not the usual slabs of brisket typically seen down South, but more of a chopped brisket. It was cooked with some kind of tomato-based sauce reduction that was really tasty, and it was just the right amount so that the flavor of the meat wasn't drowned out by the sauce. Also noteworthy were the red skin mashed potatoes, which were very rich and creamy. The creamed spinach that also came on the plate seemed rather lonely in its bowl alongside against the other two items; if it were me I'd have a different vegetable with this dish, but it tasted fine regardless (note for the readers: I am not much of a creamed anything fan...I still have nightmares of my mother serving me cream dried beef as a kid, *shudders*). Overall, a solid choice in this tiny town near Worcester. read more

The wait staff is nice and clearly they are trying, but the food is subpar even the specialties. Their signature stew is more a thin soup. Their pulled pork is watery. Why smother a piece of meatloaf with barbecue sauce unless you have something to hide? The one entre I have had in the dozen or so times I have been there that was well done, they removed from the menu. While I think the new fountain out front is lovely, the money would have been better spent on improving the inside. Poor circulation holds on to old and sometimes rancid cooking smells in areas. It feels unclean most times or worse yet, you can smell the overwhelming amount of bleach used to clean up the bar - what does that say about the bar patrons.... read more

What a gem! Went here for the first time recently on a Friday night. We wanted a casual place with good food and live music and we found it. Our server, Dani (not sure of spelling) was lovely and friendly and made the visit wonderful. The food was delicious - I ordered a pasta dish that the kitchen happily modified to make it vegetarian and my date had a bowl of chili with a side. The guitarist was great and not too overpowering. The food was delicious and the prices very good but the service was what made us decide to return. read more

Two stars is being nice. First, the moment I walked in it smelled moldy, luckily we wanted to sit outside. The food portions were terrible, more so the protein portion of the meal. I could spend $1 on a 4 pack of chicken nuggets at a local fast food chain and get more value, and more protein. The salmon Caesar salad had two of the tinniest pieces of salmon I've ever seen in the largest bowl of lettuce. The pitcher of sangria was a pitcher of ice with a sangria drizzle!! My friend stated how the bathrooms smelled of diarrhea.......that was the very last time I will go there!!! read more

Love this place! The Mill has quite a few options to please just about any palate - from your typical comfort food, to Italian-American, and even smokehouse entrees. I have yet to try something I didn't love here. I'm partial to the Farfalle con Pollo...it's the kind of dish that is so good, you can't stop eating it - even long after you're full. My husband enjoys the smoked salmon and the baked penne, and I've heard great things about the smokehouse lasagna as well. You really can't go wrong. The atmosphere is relaxed, with dark woods and exposed brick, and they often have live music in the evenings. There's also a deck to enjoy some outdoor dining during the warmer months (which I love!). The service is excellent and always friendly...you really can't go wrong. Even salads are loaded with meat and cheese which says to me none of their food has flavour. They won't substitute either. They don't have the ability to think outside the box. This restaurant needs a makeover. As soon as you walk in it smells like mildew. The bartenders are so unfriendly they don't smile, are rude and you have to actually ask to pay your bill. I think if you are a regular you may get a little better service but not sure. The bartenders were washing dishes versus serving us and we had empty drinks for quite a while! The last straw was that they were vacuuming the rug around us getting ready to close while we were trying to talk and enjoy our evening. Will not return! read more

First off the place feels comfortable and has a sort of homey charm. The bartenders could use a brush up course on how drinks are prepared but they seem pleasant and friendly. I had the chicken alfredo, came out quick, excellent sauce the pasta was cooked perfectly. Once i cut into the chicken I could tell it was pre-grilled that morning and left to dry out all day until some unlucky shmuck like me comes in to pay a premium for it. The mill overall is like a beautiful work of art on a nice canvas that some idiot smudged grease marks on. Attn: Owner! This restaurant is a gem! Our party was welcomed with a smile and sat quickly at a great table. Our waitress was excellent. All of the wait staff was friendly and attentive. I had the chicken picatta which was perfection. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well from the bacon cheeseburger to the chicken Marsala. The wings were delicious. Disappointing experience, mediocre food. Took 30 min to get our entrees and the place was not busy. ??? This venue has a weird smell that hits you as you walk thru the door (and has not improved over the course of my 3 visits). The nachos were good, but our meals were not so good. Two of us had burgers which we asked to be cooked at medium; both arrived raw in center. I had haddock which was OK, but nothing spectacular. I didn't eat the rice that came with my entree cuz it tasted like salty rice mix you prepare from a box. My son's mashed potatoes were real potatoes but there was added garlic salt ? that didn't improve the flavor. Our waiter was friendly, but paying nearly $60 for 3 people to eat was discouraging. We tried to go to the 99 before the Mill but there was 15-20 min wait. I don't think I'll return to the Mill. read more
