Had dinner there with my family recently on a Saturday evening. I had never been here before but have always heard good things. We were seated right away and ordered drinks and some appetizers , we got the nachos with pulled pork and some chicken wings. The nachos were delicious and really good with the pulled pork I didn't have any wings but they all got eaten so I figured they were good, my wife got the prime rib which she enjoyed my youngest son got a burger and fries said it was good, my oldest son got the buffalo chicken Mac n cheese said it was delicious and his girlfriend got the shrimp scampi which she enjoyed they also got cups of clam chowder and said it was delicious. I got the chicken penne pesto and it was served nice and hot and was delicious (ate the whole thing) . The place was pretty cool had pretty nice bar plenty of TVs and there was a woman playing acoustic guitar and singing so it was a nice atmosphere . All in all we had a very good experience and the prices were very reasonable and the menu selection was very good also plenty of parking. So I finally got a day off from work, and planned and planned to meet a great friend for lunch. He suggested the Mill 185 in West Boylston, and I said sure, I have been wanting to try the place out. Located at the old Pj's Location, they have totally redone the place. We sat at the Bar, and it was very nice. A few flat screens playing some March Madness games, pleasant Bartender who was willing to give her Suggestions on what to order. First thing I noticed was a couple ladies at the bar that seemed to be having their own personal tasting by the head chef, which I thought was very cool!!! I had the Smoked Chicken Carbonara suggested by my friend, and it was really good. You could defiantly taste the smokiness in every bight. My Friend had the Clam Chowder recommended by the Bartender as one of the best she ever had, and said he agreed, and we split an order of fried Calamari that my friend described as cooked to tender perfection. And of course I had a few Wachusett Seasonal Drafts, and he had a couple of wines form their extensive wine list that he helped design!! Then the owner Tony sat down with us at the bar and had lunch. Him and my friend went way back. After chatting for a while, I thought wow, this is really a stand up guy!!! And he is doing a great job in the restaurant business. When he was done lunch he insisted we tried the Corn Beef and Cabbage, and was off to get us a sample. All I can say is OMG!!!! It was the best cabbage I had ever had. While we sat there trying to figure out what was in it, and went to get the Head Chef to describe it to us. What a great Experience!!! I've been here 4 times and the food each time has been absolutely terrible. I mean terrible, I'll never go back there to eat again. Usually 3 strikes and your out. My fault going back for the 4th time. The worse food I've ever had at a restaurant. Staff is OK but nothing good. 1st time steak tips were dry and got our vegetable when we were cashing out. Ha ha that's awesome. The 2nd time we got chicken and ribs, the chicken was so thin and again dry that you couldn't even tell it was a piece of chicken. Enough said AWFUL read more

We've had hit or miss experiences at the Mill. Their pasta dishes are pretty good, But the last time we went I ordered a french onion soup which was disappointing. The onions were still crunchy, it felt like the chef just threw raw onions in there without sauteing them. My wife's shepherd pie was lukewarm and kind of bland. read more

This place is great!!! Tony supports the local football team & is so generous! Such a great guy. We had xmas party & was one of best we've ever had for our company! Food is delicious! I appreciate a multitude of vegetarian options. I loooovvveee the eggplant al forno. Prob best anywhere. My friends like the bisteca salad & hubby says French fries best anywhere. Salmon is another fav or our friends. I love that they have cherry vodka, my fav. They don't have that everywhere. There is usually a good singer or band here. First of all, one word...Gumbo! This soup has just the right amount of kick and flavor that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. They have it on Tuesday's and Wednesdays. Other than that I am a big fan of the Smoked Chicken Carbonara. Besides the food, the Mills atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. The service is top notch. I love a place that makes you feel like you are the only one there. The bartenders make great drinks too! I don't recommend a lot of places, but this one is great. The ambience is nice inside and outside and the service is friendly. Food is mediocre at best and is definitely too pricey for the amount of food your given. Go next door to Finders Pub and you can get even more food for a lower price. I was on my way to the Tower Hill Botanical Gardens for the Winter Reimagined Light Display and was looking for somewhere to eat close by there. Stumbled across here on Yelp, and figured I would give it a try. Went here with another couple and it is a cute place. WAY bigger than it looks from the outside as well. Our server was super nice and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was yummy, most of us were SUPER hungry so we all ate most of our meals (one person got the Smokehouse Lasagna and brought some home -- very filling). Over all this is a decent place for some food, not knowing the area and adventuring out - trying the local places is always good. Great place to relax and enjoy good food and great beer. The menu was robust, the food very good, the service great. We pretty much ordered from all over the menu. Everything was great, the prices were very reasonable, and the server was quick, and pleasant. The Beer selection was very good. I would be hard pressed to not like one of the beers on tap. I am very particular about the beer I drink. We stayed for quite some time any no one made us feel it was time to leave. The food is okay. It was decent quality but it lacked finesse. Crème Brûlée was cold as well as the brownie in the brownie sundae. New to the area, swung by for lunch on our way to the resevoir. Had some ice cold beers and some delicious lunch. My girlfriend got the Reuben that had (I assume) house cured corned beef. It was so tasty! I got my usual, the item I use to test all new places: a bacon and bleu cheese burger. It was a decent sized (6oz?) patty cooked to perfection with a nice amount of grill char. We've driven by a million times but tonight was the first time we stopped for dinner. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. We were seated in a booth in what looked to be the main room with the bar. There was a jazz/blues/rock trio playing in the corner, they were great and set a really nice, upbeat mood. It was busy in there, but not loud. I ordered a red sangria (only $5!!!) and it was very tasty. For dinner my husband had the baked haddock and he asked to substitute spaghetti and sauce for the standard side dishes, which the waitress said would be no problem. I ordered the rack of baby back ribs. The portions were generous, the food was fresh and hot when it arrived. Hubby said his fish was perfect and the pasta and sauce were equally as good. My ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, with just a hint of smokiness and a delicious slightly spicy bbq sauce. The homemade baked beans were very good, also just a little bit of a kick and very flavorful. The homemade cole slaw rounded off my perfect plate. I had leftovers and we both left feeling very satisfied and happy that we had finally stopped at The Mill! The prices were reasonable, the food was excellent, the staff was happy and friendly, what's not to like? It would have been a nice touch if they offered freshly baked bread before the meal, but we honestly didn't miss it or even think about it until we were driving home. Had a good run with this place for a couple of visits. Food was solid, prices were decent and the service was strong. On the most recent visit though, right when we walked in we smelled the most awful dirty water/bathroom smell. We couldn't even stay it was so nauseating. We were seated in a room where the waitstaff was vacuuming and having a really loud conversation and neither stopped when we sat down. First impression was that the place needs a makeover. The entrance is HOT (no temp control in July). The lounge smells damp and musty, and I swear you can still smell the cigarette smoke from times past. Overall it just looks and feels very dated. It might be appropriate for an upper 60s+ crowd who were into this style once. I assumed the current overall 4-star Yelp rating for this place meant the food would be pretty decent but our meals contained some of the lowest quality ingredients I have had in quite some time. Processed 'chicken' and rehydrated powdered cheese where you would expect to have real chicken breast and melted shredded cheddar come to mind. I like real food in my food. The highlight of the entire meal was my mixed drink. It was pretty strong, so the bartender clearly doesn't skimp. As soon as we walked out the door we looked at each other and basically said "Never again" unless we are passing by and need a stiff drink at the bar. Note that there is loads of seating so I doubt you'd ever have to wait for a seat. We got a booth by the bar. I've seen comments about how this restaurant has a great vegetarian menu. The section has about 8 items, and being a vegetarian I really didn't want any of them. Salads, pastas, black bean quesadilla (with feta-weird combo), and a mediocre Mediterranean salad (I suggest they learn about baba ghanoush, kalamatas, falafel, and/or dolmades to make it more interesting though I get if those are too low demand to justify. We had a big family dinner at the Mill on Saturday evening. There were seven adults, three grade schoolers and and a six month old. The service was excellent and the food terrific. We had plenty of room in a family atmosphere. The live performer was very good too. We will dine at the Mill again and refer our friends there as well. read more

My all time favorite place! I can't say enough good things about Tony and the entire staff. They consistently go out of their way to make you feel right at home. I like to start with their clam chowder or brunswick stew. If you have a group, you have to try the pulled pork nachos! My partner loves their chicken marsala, my favorites vary widely and not a bad meal yet! Bobbi, the best bartender in Massachusetts, creates the most amazing martini's and adds a little love to each. I recommend trying a new one each time you go. You will not be disappointed. They do not hesitate to support the local community and the live musical talent makes our evening out something we look forward to. read more

Reasonable prices especially during bar happy hour. We had 25 cent wings at the bar (Sundays or Mondays) and the were really really good. The only thing that would be awesome is some kind of free snack before a meal, like cheese and crackers. Sometimes it good to enjoy a drink with something not so big as an appetizer. My husband and I recently held a private dinner for 30 at The Mill 185. My husband and I are from Connecticut and were hosting the dinner after a memorial service for my husband's father. Right from the start, Tony was a pleasure to work with. I told him what I was hoping to do (sit down plated dinner with salad and dessert and poured wines... selecting entrees in advance off the menu). Tony was happy to cater to whatever we wanted. Upon arrival at The Mill, Jessica (one of our servers for the evening) was wonderful. She was efficient, friendly, ensuring everyone had what they needed. The food was very good, the prices were incredibly reasonable, the room was private and very nice. The Mill was able to cater to a couple of food allergies in our group. And Jessica was able to change up a couple things on the fly during our event. Should we ever have need to host a dinner again in West Boylston, I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to Tony. read more

Yuk! Last night's meal started with a chilli that was mild with a smoky flavor which clashed horribly with what spices it was cooked with. I hosted a baby shower here recently for my daughter and I could not of been more pleased ! The manager was great to work with, the food was excellent , and the service was super!! The restaurant is very conveniently located off I 190./ Rt 12 . The room was large and accommodating for a fairly large group. My wife and I went on Friday night and it was an overall decent but average experience. Our server was excellent, great timing, very friendly and clearly knew the extensive menu. Regarding our meal....we'll....like I said, pretty average overall with some highs and lows. We started with the app sampler trio. Potato skins were excellent! Covered in cheese with crunchy skins. The fried mozzarella was greasy and lacked flavor, but it was fun to try a different version over tradition "sticks". The chx fingers were basically inedible and obviously frozen with the mashed up consistency of NcNuggets. For dinner, My wife had the Chx Carbonara, which she liked. Sauce was good and chicken was flavorful. Portion was smaller than expected for the price. I had the bacon/cheese burger...pretty good. It Was cooked exactly medium which was a plus since that seems to be a lost art. Shoestring fries on the side were good also (but served cold). Bacon crispy too! Overall an app, 2 entrees, 3 (weakly made) drinks for $80 incl tip is not bad for a Friday night date.
