I was looking forward to the special. Beef enchilada with red sauce and an egg. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed. The red sauce was great and egg cooked perfectly, but the tamale was a tad crunchy on the outside. I have never had a tamale with a crunch, so maybe they reheated by frying it? Without a doubt, our favorite place to eat breakfast. They are always so fast and their food is our favorite breakfast food of all time. We went in there yesterday the day after our wedding to say thank you to some of the people that were helping and everybody that was in our party was so impressed by the quality of their food and the service and the ambience because we got to sit outside at one of the patio tables. When I first moved here, my friend took me here after a night out and boy did it hit the spot!!! I could rave about the Breakfast Burrito and the Ortega breakfast sandwich for hours... it's that good. The service is always lovely, really nice lady owns the place and she makes everyone feel like a regular. Used to really like the nest precovid. Decided to venture over to place a takeout order since their phones were on the busy signal for over an hour. I'm happy that I did because the owner and all staff were violating the mask health mandate. I care for my elderly family who will die if they catch covid so we left. I work in a restaurant and wear my mask all day during my shift, I empathize that it's hot and uncomfortable. But with 200,000 dead Americans and our president now sick with it, it is more important than ever to put the health and safety of your customers first. My family were willing to look past the one time the business owner served me an omelette with a hair right on top but we will not look past this. Sorry, Nest. We'll miss supporting you. read more

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nest earns three stars in my book. 5 stars for food and -2 stars for failure to observe CDC guidelines for restaurant operations during this time. I ordered food for takeout as I've seen them get busy. The person taking the order was cordial. When I picked up my food, there was a sign outside that said stay 6 feet apart. Ok...good start. When I walked in, it was a different story. NONE of the wait staff or busses were wearing face coverings. One busser had a gater that was around his neck. Also the indoor stable may have been spread 6 feet apart but seemed closer. I did not see the patio. Only good thing I saw was a plexiglas shield at the pay counter. I was disappointed to say the least. With the above, I won't be coming back until the we are in a safer tier. Ok now the good news. Their food was awesome! We order the waffles, eggs benedict, and breakfast burrito. The waffles were to die for! The eggs Benedict made me sing a lovely Irish jig, and the breakfast burrito needed salt but otherwise was wonderful. To be fair, they're trying to run a business during a very trying time. I'm all about spending my money locally. I am, however, concerned about their staff's lack of CDC observance. Once things get better, I have no doubt we will come back. read more
