The Oak Table Cafe opened doors in 1981 and won the "Best Breakfast in the Northwest" award from the Pacific Northwest Magazine in 1989. It is also currently the #1 rated restaurant in Sequim WA on TripAdvisor. Our family enjoyed a hearty breakfast comprising of Eggs Nicole, Thick-cut bacon strips, Potato Pancakes and Apple Pancake. We needed to keep our energy up for a long day of hiking and treks at Olympic National Park and coastal driving through the Olympic Peninsula. Apple Pancake: Oven baked like a souffle until the pancake is at least 3 inches high, it is filled with fresh apples and glazed with pure cinnamon. This is the house specialty and definitely not to be missed. Eggs Nicole: Sautéed, fresh mushrooms, spinach and onions with scrambled eggs and Swiss cheese on an open face croissant, finished off with Hollandaise sauce. Order the Thick-cut bacon too if you are a carnivore. Best bacon I have ever had anywhere! All portions are gigantic and good for sharing. The Apple Pancake can feed 4 people! We still had leftovers packed after. Interior is very homey and comfortable, like visiting grannie's cottage out in the woods. I don't usually expect to have a good culinary experience during my National Park trips, so I was pleasantly surprised to see this spot so highly rated. I totally agree with all the reviews. I got my meals to go for efficiency since I wanted to go on early morning hikes and wanted a quick breakfast experience. I called ahead and placed my orders so that when I got there, I simply had to pick up and pay. The staff were so friendly and efficient in all steps of this process. I could imagine a very pleasant dine-in experience if I had gone down that route. Now for the highlight: the food! I really enjoyed the expansive menu. Most egg dishes came with 3 pancakes, which I appreciated. I like having a mix of savory and sweet. I do have to say your mileage will vary depending on what you get. I got the bacon and swiss omelette one day and then an eggs Casey the other day. The eggs Casey was amazing; the mushroom sauce added such a wonderful flavor and the eggs were fluffy and super well done. The omelette was pretty good but wasn't necessarily the best I've had before. Parts of the omelette were a bit overcooked and dry (maybe to my taste?). Both dishes came with pancakes, which were delicious. Once again not the best I've had but super solid and a great addition to the egg dishes. Extremely beautiful dining space. We got here on our way to Port Angeles and then to Victoria. We had an hour to kill before we boarded the ferry and the oak table cafe was the final winner. Walked in and absolutely loved the open interior with windows all around the dining room and tons of light coming in. The mimosa was served with freshly squeezed orange juice and tasted great. We shared a blueberry pancake. Fluffy and moist it was. The service was nice and courteous. I think for an area like Port Angeles, this is as good as it gets for brunch. We enjoyed it a lot. Visiting Sequim for a quick gettaway, I was craving a delicious homemade brunch. A quick Yelp search brought us here and we are SO glad it did. Really friendly staff and they are ON their coffee game. Strong, tasty and ever flowing into the tiny classic diner coffee mugs. Chocolate chip pancakes: Light and fluffy, with a very good maple syrup to go with it. Don't order too many sides though. Comes with 6 pancakes so it will fill you up. Thick Bacon: Thick. Bacon. Little expensive for only 4 slices but the size does help that. Each piece makes up probably 2-3 pieces of normal bacon. The Apple Pancake (not to be confused with buttermilk pancakes with apples): Very thick (3-4 inches) accurately described by establishment, fluffy, but great flavor. This place attracted lot of crowds everyday and was busy/had wait most times. It has the cutest collection of soft toys of the animals above/under land/water you could find while waiting. They had fresh juice options. The breakfast/brunch menu had a lot of options. I had hard time deciding what to order. The eggs were fluffy and good, pancakes were plentiful and french toast was delicious. The service was good. They offered me fruit substitute as I was not ordering the meat in the dish. It was crowded so expect a little wait. Our server was very friendly, I just wish that there were someone walking around with coffee and water since she was so busy. We live near Seattle, but every July we come up to Sequim & eat lunch at the Oak Table cafe, see the lavender farms, & then eat dinner at the Dockside Grill before driving home. Ask the locals the best times & days to come, as sometimes you get seated right away, but others the waiting line goes clear outside. It's popular, so being able to park in their lot is not guaranteed. I recommend the benedict with the mushroom sauce.​ read more

Sequin is a small town, and I'm sure that the locals know this place, but if you're traveling in the area, make sure you stop here for a good breakfast or brunch! There was 4 of us and each plate looked better than the next one. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. Ready to offer extra water for your tea, or another tea bag all together. This place really stands out above the rest when it comes to their food, their flavors and their customer service! Located in Sequim not too far from the highway, they are absolutely worth a detour. I hate to review them simply because I don't like competition when trying to get a table but these folks have earned five stars from me. The atmosphere is cozy and the place is usually buzzing with activity. Once your seated, you'll be treated like family. They've been open for a long time and they don't have any issues with making your order just the way you ask for it. Need a substitution? You got it! Something not come out right? They'll fix it and if they don't, they'll make it right in other ways. They have a fairly large menu with mostly traditional offerings but then there are the few specialties. You'll want to try one! The food is great, the servers are lovely, and you can tell that they care. There is almost always a waiting list, as there should be, it's that good. The Oak Table has outdoor dining with heaters. We popped in for breakfast and found a new favorite. The coffee was excellent and staff very nice. He had eggs over medium (perfectly cooked) and crispy hash brows. Those hash browns were crispy AND plentiful. The portions are ample. I had a Denver Omelet with 3 pancakes- a standard option. The fluffy Denver was fantastic- LATER. While I was there, I ate the (delicious) pancakes, drank coffee and was full. At home, I split the omelet and hash browns into three more meals. This place was really cool. The waitresses are all dressed conservatively and they're all super friendly! The menu made me want everything so I abandoned my diet and ordered the Eggs Casey. It was a little salty but otherwise delicious. The smell of the toasted croissant is heaven. The mushroom gravy sauce was wonderful as well. It comes with three mini pancakes which were just okay in my opinion. The hubby ordered a custom omelette and says it was the best omelette he's EVER had. That's saying something considering that's the only thing he orders everywhere we go.
