The food was exquisite. However, the quality of the candle wax was HORRIBLE. When dipping my fingers in the hot wax, it took forever to peel off, rather than creating a replica of my finger tips as I would've pleased. One of the worst waxes I've ever handled. We were here in a couples dates but not the sort that ends up the night in the same bed so not to worry this review will not turn PGMA. The date didn't go that well, no fights but also no shine. My man bonding is always off and I was outgunned by my more successful counterpart. Odeon is your classic oversized bistro. A place that knew glitzier times but still serves a decent role/l. Finally, a place that lives up to the hype. My parents-in-law were in town from Greece and it was my mother-in-law's birthday. They are super fancy and have been to every nice restaurant on Earth, so I wanted to take them somewhere cool and classy with a NYC flair. Enter The Odeon. When you walk in, you think you've accidentally walked into Balthazar. But no, it's the right place. they look exactly the same. Interesting. It was insanely crowded at 1pm on a Sunday but the staff were very accommodating towards us. No one at the table was small and the space was cramped. We could have made it work but some people at the table deemed it unacceptable and demanded to move. The staff were so understanding and receptive, I thought they deserved a medal. They even got us to another, roomier table. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that. We did a round of soups-French Onion and Tomato. I had the tomato which was good. Nothing extraordinary, but acceptable. I then had the tuna burger, which I was glad I ordered because it was the only normal sized portion on the menu. I get it's a French place, but this is America after all... It was actually really good and came with fries which were delicious. This isn't your run of the mill diner or quick bite to eat.. dining here is like eating on the set of a classic New York City romantic comedy. Everyone is well dressed, Burberry jackets are seen hanging by almost every diner's table (did I miss a big sale or something). The bar is always very crowded so if you are thinking of sitting at the bar to relax, don't bother here. There are also mini-tables in back of the bar to sit and enjoy drinks without a bartender trying to engage in small talk aka working for tips. The only problem with the bar tables are when sitting down, you are perfectly aligned with someones butt. Sure the men may have no problem with this, but me? I was aligned with what reminded me of a typical fat guy plumber butt. Needless to say, I never did sit by those tables again... The waiter was super friendly and polite. He didn't even seem disappointed when we didn't order that much (scores points in my book). The food never disappoints here. The hamburger, though pricey at $16, is enjoyable, spring for the extra $1 to get cheese added (the Gruyere is a good match but you could choose from a bunch). The burger comes with fries; skinny, long, and salted to perfection. The macaroni and cheese was also a really good side that I wish I had endless portions of, worth every bit of that $9. Back when acid wash jeans were in vogue, back when Huey Lewis and the News ruled the charts, and back when it was cool for guys to wear neon green socks with white slip-ons. But alas, it is not 1988 but rather 2008. Diesel jeans are in vogue now, Leona Lewis rules the charts, and it's definitely not okay for guys to wear neon green anything. How did you get here? Right, you had invited T. to dinner here, on your way to B Flat. You had always wanted to come to Odeon because you were heavily influenced by "Bright Lights, Big City" in college and you were trying to channel your inner Jay McInerney. So it's no wonder you're copying his style of writing for this review, you loser. Oh snap, is that Allagash beer they have on tap? You and T. are both starving and ready to eat anything and everything. She orders the tuna burger, with french fries and wasabi mayonnaise. You are naturally mesmerized by the wasabi mayonnaise. You, however, order the bacon burger with french fries. Very plain order, you say to yourself. So to spice it up, you order the mac & cheese. And don't forget your Guinness. Both of you look around the restaurant and sort of people watch. You notice the Jersey people behind you. How did you know they were from Jersey? Because they were the only ones taking pictures and wearing shorts and sandals. You also notice the three gentlemen next to you. And you get a big laugh when one of them tries to excuse himself but somehow his "posterior" ends up in the vicinity of T's face. You laugh hard indeed. Finally your food arrives and it is excellent. You take a bite of her tuna burger and get jealous. You dip your french fries in her wasabi mayonnaise and start to resent her. But your medium-well burger has lots of juice running down your sleeve, which is always the sign of a good burger. Washing it down with a Guinness only makes it that more enjoyable. You both decide, right then and there, that a brunch at Odeon is definitely in your future and that dragging all your friends below 14th Street will be a difficult mission but it will be worth it. read more

The Odeon is very classic NYC. Great for a Thurs/Fri post-work cocktail to kick off the weekend or a Sunday dinner to recap the week and feed your tummy before back to the grind of Monday. It's just got that "come on in" feel to it. The atmosphere is warm and the service is friendly, but can be a bit slow. The french onion soup is very good. The burger is quite tasty, but it's also a bit on the pricey side. Also, there's really no better way to cap off your Sunday dinner with friends than sharing a fully loaded ice cream sundae. I didn't originally plan on coming to the Odeon for dinner. I was supposed to go to Terroir with a few friends, or Smith & Mills, or Locanda Verde. But all of that fell through, as we found many spots in Tribeca closed for corporate holiday parties, or packed beyond comfort. We snuck into the last open bar tables at the Odeon brasserie, and cozied up to some bread and butter and wine. Both the bar and the restaurant were busy during the few hours we were there this past Thursday. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and our food came out quickly. On to the food! I went with a straightforward cheeseburger and fries. I knew the fries would be perfect "France French" double-fried bistro style, and they were. However, the burger was absolutely fantastic. It was extremely juicy, and I loved smothering the spicy mayonnaise all over it. The abundant melted cheddar dripped down the sides, and the beef had great flavor. This is definitely a stand out burger in the city. It's easy to overlook iconic restaurants (present day analogy: The Odeon is to 1981 Tribeca as Roberta's is to 2011 Bushwick), or restaurants that used to be trendy, or restaurants with a standard menu. However, this thought process is sometimes a mistake. If a place is 35 years old and still busy at 6pm on a Thursday, there is obviously a good reason for its success. read more

I really liked the Odeon. I went for Sunday brunch and it was relatively empty, we opted to have a drink at the bar so we could wait for a table outside, but otherwise would have been seated right away. They do make a really great Bloody Mary, my brunch drink of choice. We didn't have long to wait long before we were taken to our table. The hostesses were super friendly, as was the waitress. I had the french toast, and I was so content. It wasn't too heavy, nor was it too soft and light, it was literally perfect. The whole meal was perfect in, in fact. The only reason I am one star short of a full house is because the bar bill was obscenely expensive. I don't know if it was a mistake that I didn't realize until later or what, but it was highway robbery. We had 4 drinks in total and it was in the neighborhood of $67. This is your fair warning. The meal itself was totally reasonably priced, which is why I was so surprised about our bar bill. Just double check it before you leave! read more

If you're okay with spending $19 for a Tuna Burger, you'll love Odeon, a past-its-prime (yet still cool) Tribeca staple. I just stopped in for a business lunch and really enjoyed my BLT with Fingerling Potato Salad. My colleague enjoyed the Croque Monsieur (grilled ham & cheese sandwich) with Mornay Sauce & Mixed Greens. We both enjoyed the casually hip vibe. If the place looks familiar, perhaps you've seen it on the cover of Jay McInerney's "Bright Lights, Big City." Or maybe you were a member of the original cast of Saturday Night Live. (Or maybe you've actually been here before.) Two of the quirkier details I like are the old-fashioned phone booths near the downstairs restrooms, and the old-school swinging doors (silver, with circular porthole windows) that lead to the kitchen. It's hard to miss with the neon lights outside. It has a great atmosphere once inside, a lot of people moving around and stuff going on but it's still very cozy. We got lucky and had a table that could have seated 4, but there were only 2. That was nice, I hate being squished in a small table. The waiter was very patient as it took us 2 rounds of drinks before we ordered. When we eventually ordered we started with the beef tartar it was very good. As soon as we finished it the food came out right away. I got the sole and it was amazing. Sole with truffles - it was so good I wish there was more. I tried some of the hanger steak - it was good but the sole was better. I'd go back for the sole again. We moved on to dessert and tried the donuts - they were really good. The raspberry jam was much better than the grape, it wasn't nearly as sweet. That also may be because I like raspberries better anyway. In its heyday, Odeon was THE go-to spot for the Less-Than-Zero, coke-in-the-bathroom, over-indulgent 80s socialite set--making it the perfect place to bring my mom when she came to visit this weekend. As it turns out, the days of doing lines off the sink (at least during brunch) are over, but we had a lovely time here anyway. Just to be a little decadent, we started with dessert--warm donuts with maple and raspberry dipping sauces...absolutely divine. Next I had this burger everyone's been raving about, and was not let down at all. Insanely juicy meat (I unabashedly went through about 40 napkins eating it), perfectly grilled bun, tons of awesome fries--seriously, I'm not sure if it could have been better. Mom had the special grilled tuna and avocado sandwich on foccaccia (sp??) bread, which I think had at least a whole avocado in it, plus about a pound of perfectly seared tuna. The service was fantastic and the prices weren't bad for lunch, making Mom very happy with Odeon. In fact, I'd say she loved it, and my mom does not give her love out lightly. I should know. Walking in with zero expectations and no knowledge of the Odeon's prior fame, I was blown away by the professional service and classy atmosphere. Waited half a martini's worth for a table on a Friday night, and had fun taking in the scene at the bar in the meantime. Definitely a well-heeled corporate Manhattan crowd with a scattering of tables of Jersey. After some minutes of enjoying the art deco quality of the large green and pink clock next to the bar, I realized the entire restaurant was impeccably done as an art deco Parisian-style brasserie. The side order of mac and cheese was perfect, albeit definitely a "side" size portion. The frisse salad with Roquefort cheese, BACON chunks, and mustard vinaigrette was the ultimate start to the meal! The tuna burger incited a quest for future tuna burgers....perfectly medium rare as requested, and the wasabi mayo did not overwhelm the burger or tasty skinny fries. Like most New Yorkers, I firmly believe in the most important weekend meal: brunch. One of my favorite things to do on a weekend, is to brunch in Tribeca and there are more than a handful of quaint, homey little places to enjoy this beloved NYC meal in the area. I have tried a lot of places around here, but have never gone to The Odeon. You can't miss it, it has these beautiful big red letters lighting up the marquee on the corner of Thomas St. This past weekend, I made a quick reservation and my big brother and I set out to give this place a try! When we walked in, I was super amused by the art deco styled French bistro setting. It's very retro in a cute and quaint way and I absolutely loved it! It really reminded me of some of the places I frequented when I lived in Paris. When Rich and I walked in, we also got these super antiquey tickets with "THE ODEON" and the address printed on it. The menu is pretty standard for brunch, as you can choose from breakfast favorites such as Eggs Benedict (which is what I had), steak and eggs, custom omelettes and pancakes... just to name a few. They also have a nice menu of brunch cocktails, some of which that are seasonal; Rich had the Sriracha Bloody Mary. The food and service were delightful. The seats were comfy and it was a really enjoyable brunch where we didn't have to beat down hoard of drunkees for a delightful brunch. The noise level was perfect, you could tell there were other tables near by, but could sit comfortably and enjoy your own conversations. I cleaned my plate and was very satisfied after our meal. If we picked here because we read about it in Time Out New York, does that make us less cool? If so, I don't give a sh*t. Dinner was absolutely marvelous here, and we loved every bite from the beginning to end. After waiting nearly two hours for dinner the night before, we expected to be greeted with the same wait. However, upon being pleasantly greeted, we were promptly seated. Very nice. We had waters, and chose a bottle of red to linger over as we picked our entrees. Starters? I highly recommend the french onion soup (flavorful, yet not too salty) or the warm goat cheese salad (I now have regular sexy-time dreams about the cheese). Add a crusty loaf of bread and real butter and we are off to a smashing start. I chose the sea bass. Not entirely sure, as I have never actually ordered sea bass, but I was in the fishy mood, and the baby spinach with wood mushrooms called to me. The fish was a massive chunk presented beautifully atop the spinach. Perfectly and delicately seasoned, it was, to put it simply, some of the best fish I have ever eaten. My date had the steak with frites, which was phenomenal as well. Split an order of orgasmic mac 'n cheese and we were in culinary heaven. Service was absolutely perfect (attentive, yet not annoyingly doting) and perfectly paced. Ambiance is lovely as well, bustling without being too loud, everyone seemingly enjoying their food and company. No complaints here. Came here with a friend the other day but had not been in for a while. Crowded with a 30-40 minute wait for a table we opted to sit outside. Casual, simple menu with hearty eats. Started out with the Beet Salad (if you read my reviews you know it is one of my favorite dishes), it did not disappoint. The cauliflower soup was creamy, a little on the watery side, and needed a little more flavor. For our main course we had the trout, and the hanger steak with a side of brussel sprouts. The Trout was seasoned with capers in a light tomato based sauce and was delicious. The hanger steak was hands down the best thing that we ordered and the brussel sprouts were decent but looked more like a baby brussel sprout than a real one. Definitely a good neighborhood spot but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here if I was in another part of town. I've been coming to The Odeon since the early 90's, always an enjoyable meal, however on VD my steak was a real fail. My medium rare steak came room temperature. Nothing worse than a cold steak. I told waitress and the maitre d'/ manager came over, I explained, however he just left the steak. Terrific experience at the Odeon. First of all, the place has a great art deco ambiance with chrome, banquettes and style. Very stylish! Service was very good. A little chilly for my tastes, but the server was prompt and efficient. Food was excellent. The hanger steak might be a bit salty for some, but I thought it was delicious, as were the perfectly cooked asparagus and potatoes that accompanied the dish. My wife's tuna burger was also delicious. The Goat Cheese Salad was a fresh and terrific starter (with a generous portion of cheese) and for dessert we had homemade ice cream--my wife loved the coffee and I found the peanut butter heavenly. Prices are reasonable by NYC standards. My wife and I had two drinks, two entrees, a salad and a dessert for just over $100 before tip. For such tasty food in a stylish, fun place, that is certainly not out of line in my book. I look forward to returning to The Odeon. read more

There is something charming and glamorous about this familiar old-worldly place that makes you feel like you stepped back into a wonderful time in New York City. I was prompted to visit this place after reading about it in NY Mag, and hearing the who's whos of NY called this TriBeCa brasserie their regular spot, artists, actors... It's easy to see why when you walk in. Apparently they were the pioneers of this area, you get a sense of that today. Perfect amber lighting, attention to detail on every table and you never have to summon a waiter, the staff is so attentive almost mind reader-like. Celebrity sighting seems to be a regular thing here. Ok, so food: DELICIOUS! Everything we ordered was spot on: *GRILLED OCTOPUS *CROQUE MONSIEUR (theirs is arguably the best in New York, it's like a French style grilled cheese only b etter!!) *CAVATELLI PASTA WITH TRUFFLE OIL, ASSORTED WILD MUSHROOMS & RICOTTA PARMESAN CHEESE. Jesus Christ, I was licking the bowl. *CHOCOLATE PUDDING *PROFITEROLE (can I just say I haven't had one this good since Italy.... The top and bottom pastry were fresh and the ice cream was stellar!!) Great! If you want to know what croque Monsieur or madame should taste like, you can hop a flight to paris, or a cab to tribeca. The tuna burger was delicious. For brunch, you are served complimentary fresh donuts with a raspberry jam and a brown sugar/butter/cinnamon reduction. Best of all, they bring you a basket of french bread that is sliced such that they are still connected by the soft bit of bread, not the tough under crust. How many times have you been to a restaurant and had to mangle the loaf with your hands, while the other guests pretend not to be horrified? Not at odeon. read more

Our lovely Halloween night was spent at the Odeon and it provided a relaxed and lovely dinner despite all the chaos of the Halloween parade in the village. The interior definitely has an old school feel, but the lighting and the ambience made it an experience itself. Note: expect to sit practically in your neighbor's lap as the seating here can get tightly packed.. The food was good and the service was great. Our water was refilled throughout the night and the courses came out in perfect timing. The frisee salad was the hit of the night. The greens were tossed with some bacon , a poached egg, and it was served a bit warm, but the best part was the dressing. A little creamy and tart. This salad was awesome!! My beet salad with goat cheese and arugula was good too, but something that you can find anywhere. Get the frisee!! My husband loved the his pasta, I believe it was rigatoni and braised beef. The quantity was on the smallish side, but he insisted it tasted remarkable. My slow cooked cod was OK, thus the 4 stars.. It was a huge piece of cod that fell apart into perfect bits, but I wasn't crazy about the vegetables underneath the cod. Potatoes were okay, but the green onions were cooked in whole and the pieces were impossible to cut through. Overall the sauce was okay, it just needed more flavor. I'd definitely come back again. The vibe here is pretty cool and it has a nice outdoor patio too. It will be hard to find a better frisee salad, that's for sure! read more

Wow, I'm here for lunch about 30 years after this place was hot. Why? Jury duty. After about 2 weeks of testimony with names like "G-money, Do-Loove, Papoose, K-Slade, etc." I needed some hearty food. My fellow jurors and I were craving a good burger and frites, and this was the number one choice. While the burgers and frites were good, I ended up ordering the croque monsieur. It had a nice spicy mustard dressing on the greens that woke me up, (3 days of phone records can put to snooze on). When I booked a lunch reservation here for myself and a friend, I had made up my mind to try either their burger or the croque monsieur. Both seemed to offer pretty good value for lunch. I got there early, got myself a pint of Weihenstephaner and glanced at the lunch specials. The bucatini with cockles, braised pig trotters & broccoli rabe was screaming "eat me! eat me!" at me. Clams and pig feet (when properly braised) are two of my favorite things in the world to eat. My plans of eating a sandwich for lunch quickly went out the window. I was really impressed with the texture of the bucatini. It was perfectly al dente... and I liked that it wasn't too saucy. Sometimes restaurants douse the pasta with sauce and I hate that. If that's your thing, you may find this dry. The pig trotters and cockles were also perfectly cooked with the brocolli rabe providing a good balance without being too bitter. This is a pretty nice looking restaurant in an area filled with nice looking restaurants but they also delivered on the food. The service was brisk but efficient. I left my bag there and when I came back to get it 5 minutes after leaving the restaurant, they already had it up front with someone who was getting ready to call me. I'm just glad now I don't have to go to Montreal to have properly braised pig trotters. read more

I've heard, "The customer is ALWAYS right!" Stopped by Odeon for a late evening snack with a friend. Was dying for Croque Monsieur. Asked if I could have it without meat since I'm vegetarian. "NO!" I was told. What the what?!?!? Croque Monsier is French for grilled cheese. Could not believe they would not accommodate my simple request. Odeon thought I was WRONG! Who knew during these challenging economic times they would turn away my willingness to pay $14 for a French grilled cheese without meat??!?!? Terrible! Will NEVER return. read more

Someone needs to tell the snotty, tall, dark-haired hostess who was working there the Sunday night of Columbus Day that it's not 1990 any more, when The Odeon was the hot game in town. So brunch was on the agenda, and Miss Ehka decided to keep it downtown and do a place she'd been wanting to try out - Odeon. As she led me well in our previous jaunt, so I entrusted my appetite in her able hands. It's a bistro. It's a cafe. It's a place that has outdoor seating and on a day where the weather actually cooperated, that outdoor seating went a long way. The food was not phenomenal, but it definitely hit the spot. It started off with a serving of some homemade doughnuts. That maple glaze was awesome sauce. That was followed up by an omelette with herb, ham and gruyere and home fries. Those home fries were pretty spectacular as well. All that was topped off with a cup of coffee. Apparently the chocolate and banana wafer ice cream was pretty good too. The prices are reasonable, the service was extra attentive, the weather was perfect and my company was awesome. I'd come back in a heartbeat. read more

Dear Odeon, You are the light at the end of the tunnel, the wind under my wings, the kumamoto on my half shell, the wet kiss on my... Oh... There are people reading this. Ha... I love Odeon. I've had a love affair with Odeon since 1997. The first time I saw their neon lights was when my old highschool "bestie," Alex, invited me to come have dinner with her and her parents after a parent teacher meeting. Prior to that invitation, most of my dining experiences were based in Queens or Chinatown(s). There is a charm to that place that has conditioned me into loving the wicker chair ambiance of a classic brasserie. They have a great brunch, eggs benedict, croque monsieur, et al, as well as great salads (I like the Beet Salad with Goat Cheese and am partial to frisee salads in general) and the hangar steak. I haven't had the duck yet, but probably will at one point. Also, the grilled asparagus is a side that I end up ordering a lot. For drinks, I usually get the mimosa, sancerre or a prosecco here, however, I've yet to try their special cocktails except for the Tabini, which wasn't exactly to my liking, but that's just me. I would say that the best time to go there for a more intimate or attentive experience is right after lunch and before dinner service. Otherwise, Brunch is very busy, but I quite enjoy the bustle during that service, as the decor and food caters to that sort of energy. All in all, good stuff. Definitely a fan. read more

Yes...the blt and the Croque Monsieur I've had in the 80's and beyond and never a fail...the burgers ?? John Belushi loved them and I know why ! Tonight the chicken dish was awesome and with winter veggies ?? I'm not a winter veggies type of guy however this was flavorful, not dull or bland. Dessert..peanut butter ice cream !! I heard great things about the iconic Odeon, and I was really looking forward to eating here for lunch. I was a bit disappointed though. While I appreciate that they are probably going for simplicity and minimalism, I ultimately found the experience a bit lacking (particularly since the prices don't reflect ordering a simple, honest, minimalistic meal). The restaurant has a barebones diner-brasserie feel, a bit white and sterile, with a fusion menu. We ordered the fried calamari, steak tartare, and salmon tartare to start. The salmon tartare was quite good. It came with some creamy avocado and chips, and was probably my favorite dish. The steak tartare, eaten spread on a crostini, was just okay. I prefer the steak tartare at nearby Gran Morsi, which is presented more like steak chunks - meatier with more texture. This steak tartare was very smooth, more like a pâté. I ordered the steak frites medium rare; it came back slightly overcooked at medium. It was also oversalted. The presentation was very simple, on a white plate with just a steak and thin crispy fries, and tuft of greens. Nothing was affirmatively or outright bad, but many things were just a little bit wrong. We celebrated my son's bday with a very nice meal for four. For starters we had the steak tartare, French Onion soup and oysters. Our dinners included the meatballs, steak & frites, a pasta dish and a shaved vegetable salad. Wine & dessert as well. Our service was good and there was always a helpful employee at a head nod's distance to get anything you would need. It's loud, crowded & busy on a Friday night - we had reservations and only had to wait 5 minutes at the most. The four stars is because of price. This place was the coolest spot downtown about 25 years ago and tonight I returned for a quick bite before leaving the city. It's really got a fabulous Art Deco style and is not as one person said in their review an " all American spot" but a French bistro restaurant complete with classic bistro fare. The food is tasty and well prepared although quite over-priced and the atmosphere is typical downtown; cool, hip and fun for people watching. The best seats are at the bar. Love it! read more

I heard a lot of good things about this place but everytime i walk pass it, it seems not a lot of people go there to eat, wonder how they make business. Came here with my cousin from out of town for early dinner. This restaurant is huge, there has to be at least 100+ seats and they also have a couple of seat outside. They also have a young lady selling ice cream out of a cart that actually pretty cool. The staffs were friendly and nice. The food was great, we decided to get the goat cheese beet salad, the salad is good and the presentation was on point. Also got the braised beef ragout pasta that was great too the flavors were well balanced and the seasoning was on point. Also got the cheesecake, i didnt really like it but cheesecake is my cousin's favorite dessert, so according to her it was heaven. The french toast i got was so good properly the best in NY in my opinion. Recommend trying the beet salad, steak frites, tuna burger. Came here for a birthday dinner with my aunt last night, and had a great experience from the get go. We got a 2 top in the back and actually changed to not be as close to the waiting stand - with no complaint or sass from the staff. We started off with mac & cheese and it was simply divine. I cannot recommend the mac and cheese enough! Followed that with Croque Monsieur with an egg. The ham is almost baked into the bread, it was phenomenal. I had two cocktails during dinner, vodka martini's up with a twist and they were great, strong amount of Tito's vodka ... yes please! We finished the night with a Creme Brule which was fantastic, perfectly crisp on the top and delicious in the middle. I will say that we sat for easily over 2 hours, a pretty long dinner, and our waitress was nothing but gracious and patient. Top marks for that! Atmosphere at Odeon is crowded but also intimate. I would say if you're going on the early side prep yourself for children, there are loads of them and this seems to be the go to joint for families in Tribeca. So if your looking to avoid the crush of tikes I would suggest reservations after 7. I will definitely return again! read more

The Odeon's food isn't very creative and a little overpriced, but it is pretty good bistro food and we ended up here twice in one weekend, for dinner and brunch. For dinner, we started out with the octopus, which were nicely flavored but a little too chewy. I also wasn't a fan of the roasted red pepper, which was pretty strong next to it. Drinks: Dark and Stormy (solid), ginger martini (grated ginger throughout was a plus, though there wasn't much other flavor) and the mulled winter wine (great). I ordered the duck, which was the right temperature. But the Brussels sprouts accompanying them were well flavored, though soft and not crunchy, and the poached pear was just...there. My friend ordered her regular steak frites, which seemed a lot more enjoyable - those frites are pretty darn good! For both brunch and dinner, we ended both meals with the cheesecake, which is a circle of joy topped with raspberry sauce. The crust is soft and not as coarse as other graham cracker crusts. And for brunch, we both had the salmon benedict - rich, solidly made, and filling. Overall, I'd say a 3 for dinner and a 4 for lunch. The tables can be a little cramped, but what the Odeon has going for them is a buzzing room and great service in spite (or because?) of it. read more
